Food was very good. Nice variety. Service was horrible. Waited almost 10 minutes before waiter came and asked about drinks. We ordered some pickles while we waited for our food. Another 10 minutes for those to come. Once food came waiter never came back to the table until we went looking for a refill on our drinks because he never came to check on us. He did go several times to the table behind us but never looked our way and left before we could get his attention. When he did finally come with our refills I commented on the wait time for everything. He sarcastically said he forgot his clone. The manager or owner came by and asked how everything was and I told him the food was very good but the service was horrible and told him what the waiter said. He basically said it was the busiest Saturday they've had in a year. Not an excuse in my book. Especially for the sarcasm. I forgot my tip like he forgot his clone. Today was my second visit to DB Pickles. My first visit I was pretty impressed with the quality of the food and service. Our second visit was today The restaurant was a little dirty, in shambles really the floors have food on them like it wasn't cleaned up. Even though our waiter was nice and the food seem OK except for the pasta fagioli. We attempted to purchase some sweets from the display and asked a gentleman who was passing behind the counter that had a nasty attitude and told us we needed to find our waiter to purchase items in front of him . Typically a great place to eat, but recently their service has not been great. Hopefully they will make some hangers with their staff.

We have visited this establishment twice in the last 4 months. Both visits resulted in completely ignorant servers. During both visits we waited 25 minutes without any service after being seated. During those waits we watched others seated after us and served evidently because the servers knew them by name. Long story short - we left both times without ever being given silverware or water just empty table with servers visiting friends at other tables. On the way out we told the greeter both times and were brushed off with a light "sorry about that". We live about a 3 minute drive from the establishment and had referred friends prior to these experiences. We will not be back and we definitely will continue to share these experiences with others who ask. read more

The only positive about this establishment is the pickle bar. The service was subpar and the food is average. The pastrami was of a low quality cut and the rye was stale around the edges. This place has no identity. The bakery items look good, but when an establishment advertises itself as a deli, I'd like to see quality cuts of meat, cheese and fresh bread. When you introduce a gluten of menu items like prime rib, pasta dishes, crab cakes, and burgers, it overwhelms patrons with too many choices. I think this place is way overrated. Normally, if I am not impressed with a place, I usually don't go back, but unfortunately I decided to give it a second try. The first time I went, I ordered the crab cakes which tasted like they were a frozen food item, fried in old dirty batter. I also ordered the coconut cream pie, which was lacking a crust, & was just 4 inches thick of whipped cream & topping that was way too sweet. The second time I went I figured I couldn't go wrong with fried pickles as an appetizer from a restaurant named "DB Pickles." I couldn't have been more wrong. Again, they tasted like they were fried in dirt, & the chicken on my greek salad tasted like it was frozen, processed meat. The only thing I found good about this place was the service. DB Pickels is a local secret. Tonight my husband and I went for dinner because it has been ages since we have stopped in. I ate the Prime Rib special $13.99, The Prime Rib exceeded my expectations. The Coleslaw was some of the best I have ever had before. Chase, our very handsome server, was very attentive and was on top of our drinks and checked in 2 times to ask how our dinner was. I am not one for servers stopping by in excess and his checking in with us 2 times was hardly excessive. DB Pickels is one of the best kept local secrets in Ormond Beach. I would highly recommend this place to any local who has never been here before, as well as anyone visiting the area. I can only recommend sitting in the section where Chase would be your server, because I know he took great care of us, and I had not been in other sections that I could recall the same great service. read more

I attempted to have a nice lunch with my family at this restaurant today...... The potato pancake appetizer we ordered had a 6 inch hair in it and I asked them to take it back. We requested another potato pancake and we never got one so when the bill came out, I asked them to take it off our bill. I was approached in a very confrontational manner by an angry manager who would not give me his name. He reeked of cigarette smoke and had extremely dirty fingernails. I asked him to take this off our bill because we only ate a very small portion of it because of the hair that was in my food. This unknown/unnamed manager proceeded to tell me if I did not pay the bill in full he would call the police on is. I was with my wife & three daughters under 10 and I have never been as insulted as I was today. This was truly a terrifying situation for my three daughters and words do not explain how terrible this uncleanly manager made my whole family feel. Very sad situation. read more

I'm from out of state, so I only got to try this place one time so far. I thought the pickle bar was unique, and I like the variety of options on the menu. I ordered The Classico sandwich, which comes with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, and a vinaigrette dressing. It was decent for a sandwich, but there was nothing about it that made it stand out from any other sandwich at any other place. If I'm in town again, I would like to try something else on their menu. read more

Cafeteria like atmosphere. Good food. I never had a "Rachel" - it was really good. Great bakery items. Nice selection of items for sale as well. Service was fast and courteous. They could be a little more consistent. Been there a few times, service goes up and down, as did quality. Pickle bar is a nice touch - could have been more clean. Over all it was a good experience. I've been wanting to check out DB Pickles for a while and finally went for the first time last week. The staff and manager are very accommodating they have great comfort food. The New England clam chowder was rich and creamy and the strawberry fields salad is out of this world.. it's huge! A meal in itself and comes in its own spinach wrap shell that they bake. I remarked on it and the manager showed me the plastic mold they use and the gave me the baking instructions. Very nice people, great food, nice atmosphere.. A definite recommendation and I will be back for sure read more

Never AGAIN! We went to DB Pickles on May 27, 2018. We were seated, and for 15 minutes no one so much as glanced our way. There were only 7-8 tables being used and 3 waitresses. The waitresses were walking around not smiling and not making eye contact. There was a couple that was sitting there before we arrived. They had coffee, but they were looking around when we arrived, and no one approached their table the whole time we were there. In fact, a waitress walked by them with a pot of coffee and never stopped to ask them if they would like some more. After sitting there and receiving no service at all, we got up and drove to Denny's where we had service before we had been there for 30 seconds. Never again will we go to DB Pickles. read more

We went this morning and arrived at 10:15. We were seated promptly and waited 20 min. to get the water we were offered as we were seated. I enjoy eating here because of the pickle bar. I always want extra pickles for my sandwiches and this is a great way for me to get enough. I don't like all the pickles on the bar, just most of them. The food is really good when its good and mediocre when its not. I loved the potato pancakes, chicken tenders, salad plate, and meatball sub. I was disappointed in their Cuban. I think the first reviewer got it right except for the half sour pickles. Maybe there were there on an off day or maybe I haven't had really good half sour pickles. At lunch there. Had been before and remembered it to be better. Seemed? Not as clean as it could be. Pickle bar tongs were greasy and covered with sauces from the salads, saw hostess wiping food scraps onto the floor when she cleaned tables. Server was terrible. Really excited for this restaurant as I'm pregnant and they have a pickle bar. I really wanted some half sours. I came during lunch and the pickle bar was disgusting. All the pasta salads were all over each other, all over the pickles. It was a mess and really turned me off. It didn't seem clean and maintained. I managed to get my pickles even though i was grossed out. To my surprise most of them were old and transparent. No crunch at all. I was also really excited for rainbow cookies as I'm from upstate and heard they carried them. DB pickles catered our Christmas Party for dinner and it was delicious! By far, the best Christmas Party food in 11 years of business Christmas Parties!!! The best foods were in order: Beef Tenderloin, Mashed Potatoes w/ Gravy, Chicken Marsala, Caesar Salad and all the desserts. There was more selections that were served and very good as well but the above items take the prize!
