Not bad, but not so good. Do come here for your donuts, bagels and juice for breakfast. The hot meals are bland and greasy. For lunch, I tend to like the Chicken sandwiches and the pasta isn't that bad. It's a bit pricey but what do you expect, SJSU sells pasta and small burritos for 7-8 bucks. If you can, eat else where or bring from home. The security really isn't that strict I've seen ppl walk out with drinks, cream cheese and pay completely different prices for what they should've paid for. I'm a student at De Anza College and they just renovated their Food Court and it's bitchennnn. They have a pasta stati0on that cook right in front of you and it's restaurant quality food. Think the chef used to run a restaurant or sumtin. They have one of the best burger - grass fed and all that, with the best value in real sub sandwiches hot and cold in town. I don't think you have to be a student to eat there, you can park in the 30 minute zone outside the community student building. They have a new tossed salad bar where they toss the salad right in front of you - way cool - my favorite. They also have Una Mas and Hong Fu in there too. All of their take out gear is Bio degradable to including the corn starch glasses. Great deal and and some nice babe in the main dining room too. lol... read more

If you go to De Anza college, chances are you'll probably eat here at least once. Whether your dying from starvation and the vending machine stations wont satisfy, or its the cheapest place to eat around the area, or if you just dont have time to make a meal before school. Its your standard cafeteria food split between different stations. Theres the grill for all of the meatlovers. Theres the salad station for the vegetarians. They also have a sandwich station, an Italian Station(w/ pizza and noodles), and a soup of a day. Almost forgot, theres a mexican bar too. Everything is less than 10 dollars and you will usually get a lot of food. Whenever i go in, I usually get the fries at the grill station. At $2.50, thats a steal and it fills you up. Thats the good thing. Im not sure about everything on the menu but eating from the grill bar on a daily basis will cause one to gain weight.. The fries, curly fries, and onion arent freshly prepared and are store bought and taken out of a freezer when they go into the fryer. I believe they're already fried. The hamburger is decent, but the patty is pre-cooked before tossed on the grill. It also came out super GREASY! read more

Food is expensive here for college students unless you're filthy rich in the college life. The people working can't do anything right. I went in today after a bajillion years and noticed not much has changed except food got more expensive. A burger itself is about $7 and it's the size of my palm. Asked for a Togo box, gut said it's 10 cents extra, told me cashiers have them, they told me the cooks should have them, the rude abuela told me to take the bigger box which was 15 cents extra. Already frustrated even more. I really should've just left my food wherever I was and just got a burrito instead. The people can't do anything right, expensive for portions and quality, and charges extra for everything. How can this place be awarded best whatever the paper says?! Was in DeAnza to take nighttime language classes in Mandarin and Hindi. At night, the salad place closes right at break (7:30PM) making it sometimes frustrating when I want to eat a salad for dinner. Their coffee shop still continues to serve coffee, but no longer serve smoothies when arrive late at night either. They definitely have more choices than the average community college campus, not to mention a very clean and well-maintained cafeteria. Wi-fi there is still good, and people are generally respectful. Gave it 3 / 5 stars overall taking into consideration the price, some unnecessary shops, and some inconvenience when you're taking night-classes (fast-food Chinese, pizza, fried food shop). read more

The food isn't delicious or made with quality ingredients, but it's good and is open late which is great for us night school folks! I would actually give this place a 3 but I think the healthy options are horribly overpriced! Their wraps are actually pretty yummy but after clocking in at about 6-8 bucks total, they're unaffordable. So, instead of eating greens, I end up always having to opt for a slice of cheese pizza which is pretty tasty if you sop up the grease. Their grilled cheeses are so greasy, the first time I saw one, I thought it had been deep fried. Diabetics beware! Extremely greasy pizza, pasta, and burgers. Sandwich meat is very low grade. Sushi is so dry and bread is so hard.. For all this crappy food your also paying too much. The cafeteria itself is actually dirty too it just appears clean but you can even smell bleach covering up a nasty smell (the smell is not food either). The only good things in the cafeteria are packaged things that are not made on site (other then the sushi) and the fresh fruit. For being the "best" cafeteria in the bay area of whatever it is actually disgusting. If your on campus and hungry go to uno mas or get something packaged from the cafe or student store. I normally don't have a problem with the school cafeteria but I need to tell people about a recent experience I had here. After I waited for the new batch of fries to be made, the cooks placed fries on a paper tray. As I went to the elderly woman(cashier) she rudely stopped me and told me that I was going to be charged additional fees for the paper tray. I told her that I didn't ask for a tray and she literally said "I don't believe you." She made a whole fuss about it and even called over the cooks to verify if I was lying. Unlike other experiences, I had great ones, especially their teriyaki chicken bowl for only less than 6 dollars. Tasty, nutritious for great price, that I just couldn't find in many places nowadays. Their pho is pretty good too, frankly their beef topping are the only kinds of beef I enjoy, normally I don't like beef because of the beef unique smell, but in here I couldn't find their beef disappointing. The Mexican food is averagely less than 10 bucks, not to the so cheap side, but it give you a lot of food with beans, chips, tacos... they have fish and shrimp options too if you're paying a bit more, thought cost like around 10 bucks, not bad right? I used to be positive about eating the food they prepare themselves, but overtime I would try something new and I've felt sick to my stomach every time. -First it was a wrap, felt sick. -Then the pizza, felt sick. -Third times the charm, right? NOT! Last I tried a salad thinking I would try to be healthy, I MAYBE got 5 pieces of lettuce in a small chicken caesar salad, there was mainly dressing and cheese and when the server mixed it all up, it just ended up mushy, she didn't even find a clean bowl to mix my salad in, she just grabbed a dirty one that looked like caesar salad had been previously mix in it. Normally I have low expectations regarding cafeteria food; but De Anza College Dining Service is an exception. Because it doesn't try to be some "on-budget" cafeteria but a dining service that offers a verity of meals at an reasonable price. Calling the Dining Service a "cafeteria" is an insult to the quality of food being served. For a community college, such establishment is very impressive. Their are only two problems. One is that the quality of burgers may be the dining halls Achilles heel. While one can taste the quality in the sandwiches and pasta but the burgers taste like rubber. Another problem is that some staff are extremely stingy with what goes on a sandwich, in front of the customer. Yet the Dining Service is so good that these flaws can be forgiven. read more

I am De Anza student. De Anza dining services is definitely place for me to fill my stomach when i was starving. They have 4 stations which are Salad, Sandwiches, Burger, Italian Salad: Chicken Cesar, Chinese Chicken, Special every Tuesday, Spring mix, and Southwest. Bug er: Cheese, Bacon Cheese, Western Burger, California Burger, Swiss burger, Chicken Burger, Hot Dog,....and Special burger every week. Their sandwiches is bomb ( 6 or 8 inches long ). They have Cold, or Hot sandwiches. They also have wrap which are really cool. Italian : Grill cheese panini, Pizza, Pasta ( Be cooked in front of you ) Services: I have to say that they have really nice customer services. Especially, I love the guy who has a mole on the top of his mouth ( The biggest crew haha). He gives me best customer services that i have ever had . He always smile. I love his smile. I wish I could know his name and have a chance to become his girlfriend. Hahah In conclusion, They are the best Cafeteria in the world. I highly recommended you to stop by and try it out. read more

The food lacks taste and the prices are quite high. A few chips with some melted cheese, jalapenos, beans and rice came up to $9.00 total. Quite ridiculous considering that college students don't carry much change around unless their parents are loaded! Anyhow. That was the first and last time I tried their tasteless, pathetic food. Their breakfasts are my favorite at De Anza. I enjoy having the option between healthy and fast food at my schools cafeteria for lunch. They have pasta, sushi (pre-made of course), burger, pizza, sandwiches (made to order) & salads(self serve) and they're all pretty good quality, better than what i expected. The fries are the best, with cheese on top. and their grilled cheese is inexpensive and tastes decent.
