Water was clean. Minh was super nice. He was able to recommend me a really good ice cream he had available while I waited on gallons to fill up. They had carts on wheels which really helped me (I was filling up 4x 5 gallon jugs). They also had spare caps. This was a lifesaver because I had lost mine and had no idea where to get more. The owner is untrustworthy. Never put deposit. Your money could be gone for any reason (store transfer or just "policy change"). I purchased the deposit card but didn't use it inside for water due to obvious reason during last year. Then when I tried to use the deposit card the owner said it expired after one year. He didn't tell me about this policy when I paid and there is no such a policy on the card. Even I would like to pay the possible price difference, he still insisted that the card expired and even stepped up to me almost face to face to threat me to leave his store. Oh, forget to say, I purchased 5 gallon water buckets from him and one bursted out in the car during driving without hitting anywhere. Check them you will find the bucket is so thin. read more

This store is selling hand sanitizer at a gauging price that has no alcohol content despite's the label says 70% alcohol. If you bought any of such hand sanitizer from this store that looks like the one I bought there, stop using it because it does not work and you may be catching the virus despite you think your hands are clean by using it! I am really mad about such unethical practices at this pandemic time. Gauging price is still acceptable if the product itself works. I would really think twice to ever purchase any product from this store after this experience,,, Strobgly advice to avoid this store! How do you know there is no alcohol in it one may ask... If it has alcohol, as soon as it gets applied to you hands, you will feel the coolness as the alcohol evaporates from your hands. This product did not have that feeling at all... that made me really suspicious so I did another experiment with it. I squezed it on to a cup and light a match over it and it did not catch fire... I used another hand sanitizer that I bought over CVS that only has 65% ethyl alcohol and it catch fire right away and burnt for a while. I've been going to De Anza Pure water almost since they opened. I have never had a problem with them. The normal clerks that work there, though they are not chatty, are fair and professional and will always say hello and goodbye to me with a smile. If one of the owners is manning the counter, then you will get more friendliness. It is a simple business where you just go in, refill your water, and leave as quickly as possible. Like all asian establishment, you don't go there for the service, you go there for the goods, the price, and the efficiency. We have been going there for many years since the beginning, you go in, say hello, rinse your bottle, fill bottle, say goodbye... The price is good, the bottles fill pretty fast. It is cash only but no big deal and they store our credit and info online. So i just give them our card number each time and they will deduct off. There is no point in carrying a card around. Since we have been long time customers, we were always greeted formally. So we never had issues like the other posters pointed out. And i never saw any issues as other customers come in and refill while we were there. And we go there every week! read more

I agree with some of the reviews that service can be inconsistent. However, they invest in a very high quality filtration system and have clean, good tasting water. I'm extremely particular about drinking water and have a water meter tester (you can get this on amazon) and I like to routinely check the water quality across different water services in the area. Just called them to ask their hours and if they had a certain type of water and this was our conversation: Me: "Hello, until what time are you open today?" Him: "What?" These guys lack basic respect for customers. After we moved into our new home (in Dec 2016) we learned that the house had a rental water system from De Anza Water. We contacted the company and they kindly came out to review our options for continuing to rent the unit or purchase the unit. They quoted ~$6k to buy a unit that was 6 years old or a rental price of $82 per month. They gave us the pricing in writing as well. Pretty steep prices but oh well. it was around the holidays so we needed some time to get organized and think about the options. After the holidays we called them back to tell them that we wanted to continue renting for the quoted price of $82 per month. That's when the lady on the phone said the price is $95 per month and kept talking over my wife as my wife tried to explain that they had quoted a price of $82 per month just a few short weeks ago. Then she got the owner on the phone and he started yelling at my wife saying that "this is what everyone else pays" and he wouldn't agree to $82. Granted it's only $13 a month difference but my wife just told them to come pick up the unit and we don't want because of the way they treated her. We are done with them. read more

As soon as I got in my car which was parked right in front, another man approached the store with his empty gallon container and he was let it. Both the owner and the customer were Asian. Been buying water here for about 3 years. The facility was always clean and the asian man and woman treated me well. About a few months ago, a new caucasian man is there. I believe he is the new owner. His upkeep standard looks the same to me but he says, "Thank you, Bruce!" when I leave. He has kept the 5 cents a gallon discount program. read more

I usually go to the Glacier vending machine in the same strip mall as this store. It is the one with the Chipotle near the street (De Anza) and a Ranch grocery store (formerly Lucky's). Today I didn't have any change for the machine and I noticed De Anza Pure Water and gave it a shot. As you walk in you wonder if the place is shady. A frail looking Chinese man is sitting at the back behind a desk. To the right is a wall of faucets. I asked if they were all the same and he said "yes." That was comforting because the thought of choosing water types would stress me out like when I have to buy toothpaste or jam. So anyway, within a minute or two I filled two 5 gallon jugs, nice and easy. Pros: 1. They take bills, not just coins. 2. I can fill multiple jugs at once. 3. Faucet is hyper speed fast. 4. They sell additional related items like caps for the jugs, various sizes of jugs, etc. 5. They have plastic carts you can use to wheel the jugs out to your car to avoid snapping your back in half. The only con is no credit cards which is no big deal when you spend a couple of dollars. Prices: 30 cents/gallon or $25 for 100 gallons prepaid. The prepaid offer is non-refundable and expires in one year. read more

Disappointed in all the negative reviews about this place. This is the best water I've had locally, and I've been a regular customer for years now. I drink a gallon of water per day, so I'm in there at least three or four times a week. The owners (I think that's who they are) may seem a bit stand offish or even impolite (though I've never seen or experienced that from them), but English is not their first language, and cultural norms vary depending on where you're from. I've never had anything but positive transactions, and excellent water that I drink all the time. read more

Can I give this place a zero star? The owner is extremely mean and hostitle. If you spill a little bit water, he/she yells at you. If you don't rinse your bottle correctly, he/she yells at you. I've been to this store for more than 5 years. This store used to be OK. However, their service has become really bad lately. The clerk kept on complaining about rinsing the water bottle and the water level I refill. Worst of all, they does not even let me fill 3 or 4 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bottle even though I used their dispenser to draw the refill line recommended by themselves. I rarely write negative reviews but I just had the most appalling customer service here that I was shocked. We have been coming here for years to fill up water bottles. A few days ago I bought a 2-gallon container with spout to stand on my kitchen counter. Yesterday I realized that the seal had a slow leak and that the drip had badly damaged my cabinet door underneath. I took the container back and told the woman that it leaked. She insisted it was not possible and that I must have damaged it putting it into the car. I told her I took I home empty and that there was no way I had damaged it myself. She insisted that it was not their fault and proceeded to show me a sign about BPA that proved it was strong. She clearly did not understand the sign which was describing the chemical that was not in the container. The containers are BPA free, but she kept pointing out the word "strong" on the sign to show me that I must have broken the seal myself. After some seriously bad yelling she gave me another one and told me that was the last time (it was also the first time) and to get out. Never buy anything from this store that might potentially be defective and have to be returned. There are other places that sell them where the normal response would be a simple apology and an exchange for another one. read more

These people are crooks and thieves. I paid for 100 gallons about two weeks ago and used 13 of them. My son came in today to refill our bottles and the rude guy sitting at the register demanded that he give him an additional $5.00 because my son had lost his little paper card where they cross off the gallons as you use them. This is in addition to the record they keep on the computer. My son not knowing any better, gave him a $5.00 bill. When I heard, I got furious and drove there and demanded that he return the money. Basically he said that if I don't have the card, I have to pay cash for water that I had already paid for, even though on his computer it clearly shows that I have 83 gallons left. I asked him to issue me a new card, cross off 13 gallons to show that I have 83 left and even said that he could keep it in his file, which he does for many of the customers and he refused. Basically he said that unless I find my card, I can't refill those 83 gallons that I had paid for! I called the police, and they refused to intervene. I also plan on calling the IRS and reporting them for having a cash only business because I'm willing to bet that they don't pay income tax like the rest of us. read more
