I don't know how this company got recommended to my HOA but from the beginning I could tell that their work wasn't consistently good quality. Some of the plumbers that come out for work aren't honest either and try to fear-monger you to make a quick decision. It took several call outs for us to notice the pattern of some of the plumbers being brazen about lying outright and misinforming us about issues in an attempt to pad their invoices. One of the most brazen lies was that we had a CO leak -- but they didn't know we had 2 other plumbing companies come out at the same time to inspect and give their quotes and they both said this company was lying. They failed to identify the root cause of the problem while other plumbers were capable of easily identifying the fix in their initial assessment. I do not recommend this company. read more

We initially hired New Pipes to fix a kitchen clog in December, but had a leak in February. Initially we were very frustrated by the issue and thought the company did an inferior job. However, the company's response later changed our perspective. When I called about the new leak, Carrie (their scheduling lady) answered immediately and arranged for a same-day appointment within just three hours. Technician Rafael arrived ahead of schedule and quickly identified that a joint section of piping had worn out. He efficiently replaced the damaged section, and the repair has held up well since then. Additional positives worth noting: 1. Their pricing of the first service visit to fix clogging was reasonable among licensed plumbers (I always prefer using licensed contractors). 2. They didn't charge for the second service visit to replace the worn out part. 3. Carrie's responsiveness made rebooking effortless. 4. Rafael demonstrated solid expertise and professionalism. While we were unhappy about needing a second repair, New Pipes' outstanding customer service, skilled workmanship, and fair pricing ultimately earned our trust. My homeowner's associations contracts with New Pipes, but I was a bit hesitant because of the reviews. Luckily my technician Myles was really knowledgeable and overall great at his job. There was a huge clog in the common drain line (shared by multiple units) for our bathroom sinks. It caused our bathroom to have flooding. Because of the design of the pipes, Myles couldn't use the snake to get to the clog from the unit. When he told his office, one of his colleagues recommended cutting into the drywall, but Myles offered an alternative to go from the overflow lines in the garage. I had a lot of questions and Myles answered every one of them with professionalism. I decided to go with the alternative approach. Unfortunately this meant that he had to come back the next day with someone else (since it's a 2 person job due to safety reasons), but luckily my drain is cleared now! read more

We requested a plumbing service for the clogged main bathroom toilet. The plumber came and did a quick fix by snaking from the toilet itself. The fix worked that day but immediately clogged again the next day! When we requested them to come and find out the root cause, they refused to provide any warranty and ask to charge as a new service!! We spent hours arguing with them and the person was very rude. Beware of " flat rate" estimates this company provides. They quoted an estimate of $1650. and 6-8hrs to replace shower valve. The job only took two hours. I asked for a reduction in the charge. They said no, that was the charge for the job. After pushing back numerous times, the owner finally agreed to a 5% discount. Not very much considering the total. My HOA uses them which is where I got the recommendation. I feel very much taken advantage of by this company and their flat rate estimates policy. read more

The condo that I live in initially worked with New Pipes to have the AC installed. I also have a neighbor who has just done the same replacement for 10k which was a reasonable price, so I reached out to New Pipes for the same replacement, but they quoted me 22k! It is probably because I have expressed my trust in their business since they seem to be familiar with the condo, which probably made me an easy target for them. When I confronted the office they said they didn't perform a "diagnosis" on the unit so they cannot provide me with a breakdown of the pricing, but an "inspection" was what I asked for and I don't know in which world an inspection is different from providing a diagnosis - I suggested that the technician take a look at the unit but they said it is not needed. This level of dishonesty deeply disappoints me. The lack of enthusiasm at the office also suggests that they are not eager to build their reputation or earn any new business. I don't think anyone should trust that they will perform a good job at your home. read more

I had called 2 days prior and the lady I spoke to was reluctant to send anybody for a sink clog. I said that if that week wasn't good, anytime the following week was fine. I guess they wasn't enough money to be made. Well, nobody showed up or called. I have since gotten 2 calls from new pipes but their unprofessionalism is unbelievable. BUt to justify their time, they deliberately didnt give all information to the plumber, and he had to go get the tools and items after looking at the issue. The job is also not completely done to satisfaction inspite of their ridiculous pricing. The cost of the replacements was only 20%, they charge 80% for their labor while lying about the time needed to complete it. read more

I live in a condo complex in Fremont. The plumbing has been a problem for years. Tree roots getting into the sewage line. Three contractors from New Pipes Inc. came Tuesday to take out the old sewage line and replace it with new pipes. They were very professional and efficient. They did it all in three days and cleaned up my patio when they were done. They kept me informed to what they were doing and only had the water off for a couple of hours on Thursday. They will come back next week to replace the cement in my patio. It's so good to get real professional work done. I have the highest praise for their work. read more

I had a leak at my water meter. I called a few plumbers but Marcus at New Pipes sent Jay our right away. He pumped out the water from the meter box and could see the broken pipe. Unfortunately, they were going to have dig up some dirt, move some rocks from a wall, etc. to get to it. We scheduled the repair. They called 811 to make sure we weren't going to hit the nearby gas and electric lines. A couple days later they came and did the repair. It only took about 5 hours with two people. It works fine now. Because it only took one day (instead of two), they lowered the price from the original bid. I am very pleased and will use them again if I have a plumbing problem. read more

I can only comment on one of New Pipes' plumbers, but that one is a superstar. His name is ERNESTO GARZA, and he is, in every way, excellent beyond superlatives. I dealt with Ernesto twice, in May 2024, for services related to my water heater. He worked carefully, and his work was done perfectly. Ernesto is extremely nice, willing to answer questions, willing to respond to the homeowner's concerns, willing to take the time necessary to do the work very, very well. Afterward, he took the time to run tests to confirm that all was well, tests which were neglected by other plumbers with whom I have dealt in the past. If you're going to have any work done by New Pipes [Santa Clara], I strongly recommend that you ask that they send out Ernesto Garza. My work involved two visits, and required coordination with another company, so I had to work with the New Pipes scheduler, Marcus. Marcus was very helpful, and I recommend that you ask to talk to Marcus, and that you ask Marcus to send out Ernesto. I think that you will be very happy with Ernesto. This is, btw, a review of Ernesto Garza, and not of New Pipes. Ernesto is the only New Pipes employee with whom I have dealt [other than Marcus, who is also good]. New Pipes came out to my Condo at the Coronado Villas in Santa Clara on May 8th 2020 to do some work (Date of post:6-19-2020) After having the water off all day, I came home to find my shower lukewarm. I called them and a technician came out about a week later . The technician proceeded to tell me that my cartridge was bad on my shower and that I should have it repaired. No follow up was conducted and I now find the hot water in my laundry the same temperature as the shower, lukewarm! The laundry detergent does not dissolve and my clothes are not getting decontaminated,which is especially alarming during a PANDEMIC. This review is long overdue for this company that Coronado Villa contracts out to for all the plumbing issues. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. New Pipe started the work on my condo April of 2017 and ended in July. My tenant called one evening, and this was over the holidays concerning a water leak that was coming from upstairs. By the time New Pipes came out, there was already extensive damage that the water leak caused. New Pipes initially identified the source of the leak, or so I thought. Three months later, I was still dealing with a leak that was coming from upstairs. The worse part was that it was my responsibility to stay on top of what they were doing. I couldn't understand why it took them almost three months to figure out the source of the leak. The whole time, my bathroom had been stripped down to the studs so you could see the plumbing from the upstairs unit. I had to have mold remediation done because the leak caused so much damage. The scheduling is horrible because I had to wait a week or two to get someone out to the condo for the necessary repairs. They had to send someone out several times over the next three months. I almost thought that it bordered on incompetence and laziness at the time. Finally, three months later, the leak was fixed. I must point out, although New Pipe was not at fault entirely, the owner of the unit above sat on the estimate before deciding to allow New Pipe to do the repairs. If I had a choice, I would not use the services of this company. I have used Quality Plumbing for my townhouse and would recommend them. read more

I would give 0 star if I could. New Pipes Inc is hired by HOA, when we report to HOA there is a water leakage. They are unprofessional and charges ridiculous amount of money. They came in the house and stayed for less than 30 min. The invoice is $1160. The just came in, see there is water leaking, without asking for any approval, cut a big hole on my ceiling. First of all, they should at least ask owner for approval, secondly, there is place to enter the attic, it's totally unnecessary to cut a hole. The contractor did not resolve any issue, he did not shut off the valve properly, all he did is leaving a big hole and a $1160 bill. Full disclosure - this review is not about service. Someone from this business utilizes my street as their park and ride. He has been parking his work van in front of my and my neighbors houses for the past few months. In the mornings, he will drive his personal truck to his work vehicle, park, and go to work. In the evenings, he'll park his work vehicle and drive off in his truck. Marcus who answered our initial query continued to be patient and helpful with our questions and remained a wonderful point of contact throughout the entire process from timing to cost to specific requests and follow-up. Dan, the supervisor, was fantastic, personable, honest, and informative. We appreciated his clear communication, and his and Joel's hard work during the job. The initial estimate was 4 - 6 hours with the small possibility of having to disrupt our lovely (and accommodating) downstairs neighbors to access our pipes through their bathroom ceiling -- an option we clearly hoped would not be necessary. Joel and Dan did an incredible job with efficiency and professionalism in barely 2 hours, without having to intrude on the other family and barely disrupting ours. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! I would give 0 star if I could. This company is dishonest and rude. I called for a free sewer line inspection as they advertised online. The woman answered the phone didn't mention anything about the service fee and I confirmed and double-checked with her that it is free. They sent a technician to our house. The guy didn't bring any tools or camera, and he only looked at the appearance of the pipes. He stayed here around 15 mins and nothing was found. When he left, he didn't mention anything about the fee. Now, TWO MONTHS after the service, I'm getting a call from the company saying that I'm charged with $118 for my FREE INSPECTION. I live in San Ramon That's right - SAN RAMON! My a/c broke (like everyone else's did) during the heatwave of 2017 where we had a string of 120 degree days at the end of August/early September. I called 4 different places. One place said they'd book me 9 days out and would charge me for a doorbell, even if they didn't do any work. I posted on Facebook my woes, and I had a friend recommend New Pipes to me. She explained that her mom had these guys over next day and didn't regret it. I called - they were flooded with requests, so their appt coordinator was unable to answer. Phone was picked up on the second ring by someone in the office who took my name and number and said someone would call me back. Five hours later, no call back, so I decided to just call back - they booked me next day. That's right, I called on a Monday evening, and they booked me for a TUESDAY MORNING appointment. IN SAN RAMON. Their repair guy showed up at the start of the 2 hour window and was done in less than 30 mins for less than $300. He had spare capacitors on his truck and anticipated that was the case. In the process of swapping out the cap, the fuse was blown on the house fan - so he replaced that free of charge since it was because he hadn't placed enough tape to insulate the cap (small arc)). I appreciate the honesty, and managing to fix it still under an hour. Two weeks went by - and I swear our house wasn't getting any cooler. New Pipes guarantees their work. So I called them up and asked if they could come back out to take a look. Somehow the fan got attached to the new capacitor with the wires crossed, and so the fan was rotating the wrong direction. I don't know these things - the repairman told me so. He also apologized since it was his own work that caused it. So he replaced the capacitor, AND motor - since the fan running backwards could have ruined it. All for free - since I already paid for the original service (less than $300). So in the end I got a new motor, new capacitor, and a top off on refridgerant all for less than $300. Each time getting the appointment within my first available (not theirs). I recently had a slab leak, and our HOA management company selected New Pipes to do the investigation and plumbing resolution. Once the word was go, Patrick was on site to cap the old pipes and stop the leakage. It ended up being a tough job and took 4 shifts to fix it - there were more pipes than thought as it's a pretty old complex. Maybe there was a shift in the earth that jostled things around. At any rate, Patrick went above and beyond to fix everything, and was professional and personable throughout the work. Came home to one of their trucks parked in my driveway. Tried for an hour to find the "Supervisor" that drives it. Called the company 4 times before finally getting ahold of someone on the 5th try. Called and told them that the car needs to be moved or we would have them towed away. It's been 30 minutes since that call and the car has not been moved yet. I am trying to give the driver time to move his car however this is very unprofessional on their part. Update: we received two phone calls form the "supervisor" driving the truck he told me "tell me when you need the car moved and I'll move it" I told him it's my parking spot I need it moved it doesn't matter when I need it. He said "tell me when you need it and I will move it. He then came out and started fighting with my Fiancé about parking in our spot. Raising his voice and telling us that we aren't being polite by letting him park there. I'm sorry but he does not pay to live here or park in said carport. I had New Pipes Inc do a complete repipe of my 2 story, 3 bed, 2 1/2 bath house about 1 year ago (Summer 2013) for around $7.5K. They got the job done, but I don't feel as though I got a particularly good deal nor did they do a particularly good job. We had original galvanized plumbing so we had poor water pressure, major pressure fluctuations when toilets were flushed, showers turned on, sprinklers came on, etc., rust colored water on occasion and bits of rust/metal. The repipe in PEX has for the most part solved or majorly improved all those issues, therefore I'm ultimately happy that we had it done and feel that New Pipes did an acceptable job. However, I have several complaints where I feel they could improve their service and installation. Estimate too high. Estimated $300-500 for new grounding wire to fuse panel, was not needed and was not installed. Claimed homeowner supplied paint for patch job would provide discount and was never applied. Bill was never adjusted. They use PEX simply as a low cost alternative and do not utilize (or even know about) some of its advantages such as manifold/home run system (you can google it). Do not use red and blue color coded PEX. Sloppy angled penetration of PEX into garage ceiling looks unprofessional, and hot water supply is now visibly discolored compared to cold. Installers broke one of my P-Traps while working under the sink and said they could give me an estimate to fix it, and another one that was already in poor shape. I asked them to fix both as part of the repipe cost and they did. Installers initially reused an old run of copper to the master shower from previous work where a leak was fixed. Furthermore the old run had visibly leaked where it attached to the shower mixer valve. I only knew this because I stuck my head and a flash light in every hole in the wall and looked around. I asked them to replace this and they did. New run to the master bath sink leaked on the first day and I had to shut the water off. They quickly came out to repair it, but it didn't instill a lot of confidence in the new piping. Thankfully no more leaks to this day. Installer did not silicon seal the new mixer valve plate that they installed into the guest bath, and only did so after I asked. We still get some minimal pressure fluctuations when toilets flush and a small pipe bang in the wall when the toilet valve shuts off. Patch job was okay, but patcher had trouble matching some of the older textures, some of the new drywall looks a bit wavy, and since no primer or second coat was used the new paint looks noticeably flatter than the existing. Overall the job was just okay. I don't think there are any glaring or outstanding issues that warrant me to raise a fuss to New Pipes Inc, but I believe they could improve on their service and there are better repipers out there. read more

Saved my life (again) About a year ago, I paddled my way to the kitchen to get my morning coffee. My feet hit water all over the floor. New Pipes came out on a weekend within an hour, found the leak, and shut off my faulty ice maker line from the sink to the frig. Yesterday, my toilet starting to act up. The tank was not filling the basin on a flush. Not a big deal, but my sister and her husband are visiting from out of town!!! Again, to the rescue, new Pipes was able to find a new tank for my toilet. This toilet didn't have the usual float and chain in the tank like the old toilets that I could adjust and fix. Ray's brother Chris did work for us representing himself under New Pipes. Work was sub par. Replaced a portion of dry rot on back stars. Didn't prime new stair rails, just painted them. Now sap is bleeding through. Tred installed crooked. Left a nice red paint stain on driveway as well. Also did some sealing work around windows, we'll see what happens when it starts raining. Here's the worst part. His crew helped themselves to some stuff in the fridge. Chris said he would look into it, never heard from him again.
