Oh De Babel - you are the bane of my husband's existence and one of my favorite delights because it's either a 30-minute drive to pick up or an extra surcharged price to order through Postmates Close your eyes and point at any item on the menu and I promise you will not be disappointed! The sandwiches were the first thing I've tried from here and the kafta, chicken tawook, and DxB are the most incredible sandwiches. The kafta can be likened to a burger with a Middle Eastern twist. The pita breads used has integrity, yet is one of the fluffiest pitas I've ever had. It soaks up the sauces put in the sandwich without disintegrating, which is truly my favorite thing about sandwiches. The meats are juicy, flavorful, and incredibly addictive. I've also tried their salads and plates and they're all well-balanced and have fluffy and flavorful rice, respectively. I truly cannot rave about this place enough! Have been following their IG for a while but don't get over to this part of scottsdale much. Finally got there after a soccer game. Service was on point with friendly staff. They brought our food out to us and explained the menu. They genuinely seemed happy to help and happy to be working there. Great culture. Food was delicious and gigantic. The chicken shawarma sandwich did have some type of spice that my son didn't care for but the meat was freshly roasted and I thought it was delicious. Got the combo with side of fries. I wanted to try De Babel since I heard they were rated #3 on Yelp's top 100 list. My wife had a Falafel sandwich. Crispy falafel balls loaded in warm pita bread, drizzled with tahini sauce, and topped with tomatoes and Middle Eastern Pickles (Cucumber & Turnip). She said I was very messy, tasty, and different from other Falafel sandwiches. I had Chicken Tawook. Young chicken breast marinated in De Babel Tawook seasoning and grilled . It comes with 2 sides . I had Fried Cauliflower( Golden cauliflower florets topped with white chopped onions, fresh radish, tomatoes, lettuce, parsley, tomatoes, lemon zests and tahini sauce). Fresh cut fries (Crispy and golden fries made from freshly hand-cut premium Idaho potatoes fried in premium canola oil). The Chicken was very good. There marinade with spices made it tasty. I asked for "NO" onions due to health issues. I was told "no problem" and given the thumbs up by the cashier. I had to pull out the onions for both Chicken and Cauilflower dishes. The Cauilflower salad itself was very good. The order of fries was enough for 3 people. They were over salted for my taste and were not crispy like my description says. This place is FIRE!!! We discovered DeBabel about two months ago, and we stop in weekly now. The food is amazing and fresh!! We've tried the Gyros, Tawook, and Falafel sandwiches all of which are delicious and generously portioned. From the sides menu we've tried the baba ganoosh, fries and hummus, and again, everything is so tasty. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they've always greeted us with a smile. Inside it's bright and modern with black and whites from around the world with upbeat music playing in the background. Ordered from here for work at least twice a month in the rotation for over 20 people at a time and go often randomly. The consistency is on point every time. This is by far one of the best middle eastern quick serve restaurants in Arizona. All the good is fresh and made to order. Being middle eastern myself they hone in on Al the spices and flavors of the Middle East. The gyro is great, the fattoush salad and tabouli salad is also fantastic. They have huge portions and nothing skimped on. The inside is clean and open so quite a few people can sit. They changed their garbage cans recently so you can throw it all away without stuffing it into a small circle, smart move there. The crazy thing is this used to be a Greek restaurant location and it failed a couple of times but De Babel got it right. Definitely coming back and our team will continue to order from here often. Oh and everyone at the office thinks it's one of the best restaurants in our rotation. Not sure why I didn't finish this review. This is literally the best middle eastern restaurant in Scottsdale. I was not able to eat food from here last time I stayed in Scottsdale . I was disappointed . But 5 stars sometimes could be deceiving . I spent near $75 and liked little and would not be visiting again. The pita bread was soggy and large . I ate the filling and threw the bread in the euro and falafel. First time here and loved it. I had the entree with one side (they call it "lunch") with chicken Tawook which is chicken breast in chunks. It's all white meat and seasoned just right. I got the Baba Ghanoush which was delicious. My son got the Gyro entree with 2 sides (they call it dinner) He said the meat was tender, seasoned well and juicy. He loved it. He ordered the hummus and said it was creamy, light and yummy. The pita was soft, fluffy and better than most. He also had the fries which were tasty and not overly salty. Don't go here. Extremely overhyped. The staff is incredibly rude. Took over 40 minutes for food to be prepared even though it is a fast casual place. You get food in actual restaurants faster than that! Staff doesn't care about making people wait. Food is horrendously overpriced, $25 for an entree at a fast casual is crazy. So so good the chicken DXB wrap is amazing. Maybe the best sandwich I've had. So flavorful and the sauces are delicious. The fries are a little salty though so just be aware of that but they taste great. I'll qualify this by saying that I consider myself to be a snob when it comes to Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. This place is absolutely top shelf. I can't think of any other restuarant serving ME cuisine I've ever eaten at the does the cuisine any better than what I had here First clue - I could smell the food from the parking lot when I arrived, and I've never had it smell that good and fail to impress me. Customer service - I ordered from the website, but all my interactions at the restuarant were very pleasant. And after a scan of the packed restaurant, I only saw full mouths or smiles on the customer's faces. The place was packed at 5:00 on a Saturday, and I'll bet that's typical. Food: I had the kafta plate with rice and fattoush. All great, but the fattoush is better than any I've ever had in a restaurant. I could've made a meal out of it. I also got a small side of the hummus. As with everything I had the portions were very generous. I actually ended up flying the rest of it home with me the next day. Perfect proportions of chickpea, tahini, lemon, garlic olive oil and zatar. I personally like mine to be a little chunky, and this was blended to perfect smoothness, but it could be argued that their presentation is more accurate, depending on where in the ME the chef is from. I would guess these owners are Lebanese or Palestinian. The portions of everything I had were extremely generous. I could've easily fed 2 people off of what I ordered. The prices, though not cheap, are reasonable. I've paid much more for much less, both in quality and quantity. Their pita has to be house made. It was perfect. Perfect slightly chewy crust with great char, and a soft moist and slightly chewy center. As good, if not better than the best I've ever had. I gotta believe that there are a couple of Mabroukas running the show in the kitchen. You can taste the love and care in everything they send out of the kitchen, I can't tell you how jealous I am of the locals who have access to this place all or the time. I'm only in Phx once or twice a year, but I can guarantee that I'll be eating nearly every lunch and dinner there until I've eaten my way through the menu. I can't wait to try the halloumi, grape leaves, schnitzel, fries and falafel. If you're lucky enough to live in the Phx area, you should do yourself a favor and try this place. read more

Not a ton of seating, but people are constantly coming and going so we didn't have a hard time finding a table. The hummus is #1! So smooth and creamy!
