3.5! Cute coffee shop. Coffee beans were a little too on the fruity and acidic side for my taste, but I really liked the ambiance in there. I could see myself studying and reading there. Workers were super nice and efficient.

I usually conduct thorough research on coffee shops before visiting, but I was in desperate need of a pick-me-up and so happened to be having lunch next door, so I made my way to Dear Coffee. The interior is so cute, I love the minimalist design & it seemed like everyone else in the neighborhood does as well since this small shop was PACKED. I truly wasn't expecting much, since I find a trend in aesthetically pleasing coffee shops not having great coffee -- but boy was I wrong. I got a latte and I wish I lived nearby so I could consume this every day. It wasn't too sweet, the coffee was smooth and was perfectly strong. The star of the show are their syrups, which I could automatically tell they made homemade since my vanilla syrup had specks of actual vanilla bean throughout. I love me a great high quality coffee drink and this definitely was it.

Superb coffee shop with excellent service. It is very popular though and seating is limited.

The perfect cup for a quick cup while in the neighborhood.

The perfect cup for a quick cup while in the neighborhood. Our barista was friendly and kind and made sure my daughter understood that their maple syrup wasn't homemade.

The allure of the pecan pie latte at Dear Coffee drew me in. The description sounded appealing on this crisp autumn day and the latte did not disappoint. It was slightly sweet, but not cloyingly so and had subtle notes of pecan, but it was natural tasting, unlike the pecan latte I recently had at Starbucks. This latte was topped with little pecan pie bits. It definitely was on the pricey side, at $8+ but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to trying it again.

Such a cool coffee spot to visit if you're on the upper east side. I dropped in because I wanted to try this latte I heard about that they had on their fall menu. I stopped in to find friendly employees and a quiet vibe of a coffee shop. People were using their laptops, people were conversing, it was definitely giving neighborhood coffee spot if you live in this area. I decided to go with the pecan pie latte and a mini pecan sticky bun. It did not disappoint me. The latte could have been a bit hotter but it was good. It had this sweet toffee nutty flavor with real pecans crushed into the drink so you were able to drink and chew with each sip. It was so good. It went well with the mini bun that was the perfect size for someone who doesn't always want an oversized bun treat. This was just what I needed. I would definitely recommend and visit again when I'm in the area. Two thumbs up and Happy Yelping!

Stopped by Dear Coffee to grab some pick-me-ups! The cookie butter latte was really solid! Loved how they added biscoff cookie crumbs which was well suspended and dispersed in the drink. It is on the sweeter side, as expected, but wasn't too creamy as an latte. The cortado was also really good. The store itself is really cute - minimalistic with warm lighting and light pink accents. Not a lot of table seating but there is a bench area as well as a standing counter by the window. Looking forward to check out their other drinks next time!

Glad there is a Dear Coffee in the UES. Great and convenient location. Amazing staff. Cute interior. Loved the matcha latte! A little pricey, just like all nyc cafes but worth the money!

Finally some good coffee in the UES! A welcome, new addition with Japanese/asian influence and minimalist vibes. Love the décore and the vibe of this place but their coffee is legit too. Got a bag for myself to bring home and make my own coffee which was enjoyable. The cappuccino I got had beautiful latte art and felt like a cohesive textured drink, the milk blending well with the coffee. Probably ranks in my top 3 coffee in the neighborhood so far.

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! I've been thinking about this meal ever since I left the restaurant. You don't want to skip this place.

I just feel like the flavors could have been better on everything I got. I had one dish that the The chili chicken was sweet and spicy but it wasn't particularly better than any other spicy chicken I ever had. The jhol momo tasted cheesy which was unexpected and didn't go with the sauce or broth. The roti was more tortilla sized n pretty flat. Maybe that's just authentic to Tibetan cuisine. The empanada things were fine.

My bacon egg and cheese had no seasoning or taste whatsoever, it felt like I was just eating texture. There were a few times I had to repeat my order because the barista would choose to use the loud af coffee grinder (conveniently right next to the cashier and where you place an order) when I was ordering (and other customers as well) Ambiance - to each their own, but not my vibe. It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

Me and my girl was looking for a coffee shop that was laptop friendly and closed late since we came after work. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve any alcoholic beverages as I saw a lot of good reviews on that portion. We came, we sat down on a Saturday night. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It took a really long time for them to serve me my iced strawberry matcha drink. And even longer for the food. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. I went again by myself the next day to see if it was better service and it was pretty packed. There was actually 3-4 people at the front but even then it was so hard to get someone to take my order, ask for napkins, for the check, etc. While there was no time limit on Saturday, there was a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes on Sunday. would I go again? Maybe, but it's def veering towards the no side.
