Decade is more than a restaurant; it's a dining experience. Everything on the menu is a Decade creation I've never seen anywhere else, and everything we had was delicious. There were 4 of us, so it was fun ordering multiple plates to share among us. My favorite was the baby beets with smoked eggplant, pickled blueberries, sesame and Ricotta Salata. Every dish is a masterpiece well thought out and created so the flavors of all the ingredients balanced splendidly with each other. The ambiance is laid back yet classy, and our waiter was well versed in all the dishes and gave us a detailed description of each. If you want a meal that breaks away from standard restaurant fare, Decade is the place to go. No wonder it I was named one of USA Today's Best Restaurants of the Year. read more

A two evening dining date. Checking out the return on Decca as a new establishment Decade. It was definitely an excellent menu and cocktails a must try . Server suggested ordering a variety and sharing the food which is what we did. They weren't exactly family size portions but with the company, food, drinks and ambience, the evening just went by beautifully. Service was attentive and very knowledgeable about the ingredients which we enjoy. And for the amount of dishes we tried and shared amongst 4 person, we didn't end up spending too much more than if I had gone by myself and ordered a starter and entree. My suggestion is do two of each, veggie, pasta and meats if you can get a group of 4. The only neutral comment I have about a dish is the octopus - seems like half the dish was missing . read more

So glad to have gone here! Decade is the new concept from the prior restaurant Decca, now located in the old Butchertown Grocery building. It's been open for around a week, and we're so far to have tried it. The inside is classic and the scene was vibrant (helped y the music playing). Our service was initially a little slow, but only because a large party had ordered from our same server, and the food came quickly once we did order. Really solid cocktails and a very, very good wine list. We loved every food item we tried, but we're especially impressed with the mushrooms. Planning to go back often! read more

We have been to Decade twice -- Happy Hour and dinner. We are bar sitters, and both times the bartenders were so friendly. The vibes in the restaurant are so excellent. I love an open kitchen. What a treasure! In the top 10 of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant is in an old building in Butchertown and has a great ambience. The service here is exceptional. We have dined at Decade many times. Our most recent dinner last week was simply amazing. The salads were creative and delicious and of the season. The pasta was amazing. The cocktails are always great. Our server who had helped us before was as much a host as a server. Decade is that restaurant where you go to feel embraced on bad days and celebrated on good ones. Beautiful venue, very friendly staff. The food was fine and that's my biggest complaint. Because the prices we paid are not just for food that was fine. The pork chop was cooked great but was so overwhelmingly salty. The pasta was good, but the sauce was sweet and not worth $29. Any mixed drink was around 16$. read more

Made it to this restaurant with some friends just last night. Reservations were made through Resy.com, Thursday night for 5 people at 6pm, with ease and I indicated that we were celebrating a birthday. Due to that birthday notation, our waitress asked who was celebrating and delivered some ice cream with a candle to the birthday girl. I was pleased with this because most times I indicate on a reservation that there is a celebration, it seems to be ignored so this was much appreciated. I liked the feel of the restaurant, the space was nice and decor was kept simple. Restrooms were nice and cleanly. Parking is on the street. They weren't too busy at 6pm but the tables started filling quickly afterwards but never got crowded. I loved the ambiance until about 7:45 when it seemed a different style of music was played or maybe just turned up. When that happened, the music didn't seem to fit the vibe of the restaurant and seemed a little too loud for dinner conversations. Prior to that, it was perfect. The menu seems to be seasonal with farm to table ingredients (or at least, some of the dishes) so will probably be subject to change through the year... which means I probably should get back soon as there were a couple items on the menu that I was interested in but didn't order this visit (half chicken, carrots, mushrooms). With this visit, I had the Mafalde pasta dish with roasted pork. My first bite seemed a tad sweet but as I mixed the pasta together, I think the flavors came together and that initial sweetness I tasted disappeared. This dish has chili butter which did add a very, very slight hint of heat but was definitely doable as I'm not a big spice person. With my meal, I had the Happy Together cocktail which was described to me as a take on a margarita. I liked this cocktail, probably better than a basic margarita, because it wasn't tart at all and had a slight smokiness to it, seemingly from the mezcal. My other friends has pasta dishes too... the Ricotta Cappelletti and the Jalapeno Bucatini with shrimp. The Bucatini received good reviews from my friends. I'm glad this space was filled with another great restaurant... as I will be back! read more

Great food and service, lousy atmosphere. Simply, it is too loud for a nice restaurant. Blaring music causes people to talk loudly. The combined noise is echoed by the hard surfaces. Who wants to pay $100+ to listen to loud music and yell at your dinner date? Please put 'background music' where it belongs, in the background. The overall atmosphere, for a couple in their early forties on a Thursday night, is a deal breaker. We loved and frequented Decca but we will not be back to Decade. By contrast, Ed Lee's Nami, two nights earlier, was just as crowded but the lower music level told diners, "You don't need to yell at your friends for two hours.' Decade is disappointing. read more

Very cool atmosphere - close quarters with a lively space. Great service. Awful food. I'm really not that picky, but the 3 dishes I had (carrots, mushrooms and octopus) were not good. All were organized the same, laid on top of a bland puree of some sort. Drinks were good. I was really looking forward to this, but the food was a real letdown. read more

A new(ish) Louisville restaurant in the old Butchertown Grocery/Blind Pig location. Different yet similar vibe to its predecessor - a favorite restaurant of ours. I never thought I would be happy to pay $20 for a large plate of mushrooms but DAMN they are the best mushrooms we have ever eaten - twice! It wasn't a fluke the first time! Their menu does change and it can be intimidating because it's divided by portion size and not course. But it's good. It's all good. Try it. Let's keep it full so it sticks around! read more

We, (party of 3 ladies) had a wonderful dinner here last night! Enjoyed my "Easy Peasy" cocktail which was Prosecco, soda, ginger, lemon & a sprig of rosemary. We shared the Cheese plate...soooo good! My salad was the Lettuces, herbs, cucumber, green goddess dressing with pistachio & fresh reggiano. So simple & fresh.... one of the best salads that I've had in a long time. My entree was the Bucatini with rock shrimp (which actually tasted more like lobster!). Divine! The service and attention to detail were amazing! My water glass never got below 3/4 full before someone was refilling it. Our table was cleaned and we were given new silverware after our appetizers, which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious, especially wanted to praise the mushrooms and the porchetta. The food was wonderful last night. I ordered the Ribeye, which was a special. My husband got the buccatini pasta with shrimp. We also tried the mushrooms and focaccia bread. The service is always top notch and we put in a special request for Lennon. He always makes great suggestions and is attentive. We got one of the larger tables which was nice. When you get one of the two person tables, my complaint would be that you are too close to another couple. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Decade. Mitchell, our server, was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and super kind! I am vegan and my friend wasn't and they worked with the kitchen to accommodate me, while also providing the full experience for my friend. While the service was very good, the atmosphere was very loud and tables are literally on top of each other. Too close for comfort or to hear your own conversation, much less try not to hear those next to you. The wine selection was so-so. The menu is quite expensive for mediocre quality. The pasta is a very small appetizer portion and the porchetta was 1/3 fat and bland. Unfortunately the quality and great ambience of Decca did not make it to Decade.
