My contractor used Decor-ative Specialties for my kitchen refurbishment. I am very happy with these. First, one of the things that you can see in the May 2022 attached photos is the material is beautiful. One of the things that is really good about these is that in 9 years, the appearance has remained in its original beautiful state. No fading, no cracks etc. The material is resistant to stains, sunlight damage and water damage. The contractor also built a custom inset entertainment center and other cabinets. I am not a contractor but trusted my contractor when he chose Decore for the kitchen cabinets. After our kitchen was finished our contractor even stated that he would be reconsidering his relationship with this company. They are of poor quality and their customer service is poor. We had to reorder one upper cabinet and when it came the doors were the wrong color and did not match the box. It has taken a LONG time to resolve this issue and it is still not resolved. Beside the lack of customer service, the quality of the cabinets themselves is low. There are numerous inconsistencies throughout the whole kitchen. Save yourself the hassle and go with another cabinet maker. I wish I had looked up reviews of this company beforehand. Good luck. read more

I've been ordering doors from Decore since they were working out of their garage in El Monte, over 40 years, it's sad to say I wont be ordering from them anymore, I'll give you 4 reasons why; 1) The quality of doors has degraded over the years, Doors are machine sanded leaving razor sharp edges, these were knocked down by hand at one time, but not anymore, leaving the finisher to knock them down before staining or painting. 2) The frequency of cracks and defects in the wood, I'm seeing more of these defect now than ever have.. It's faster for me to fix it myself than to wait another week to have a new door made and delivered. 3) They have a recent price change; From this date forward they are charging $75 to call in a order, Yes, we pay them $75 to take our order, incredible, the reasons I was given was Covid, the changing times, really? Look more like low life company exploiting a pandemic for profit. 4) Another recent price change, both in the same month, In the past we were charged a $30 delivery fee, that fee has increased to a whopping $125 per delivery, I'm not kidding... The increase was so high that they didn't note the amount in the email they sent out, you have to log into your account to find out the cost, even the driver who delivered my doors didn't know, he probably didn't know he'd be out of a job soon too, as more company will opt for Will call, or will Decore ban that too in the name of "Covid"? We as Cabinet Makers have ordered our doors because it's cost effective for us to do so, that cost effectiveness is disappearing and it's only a matter of time when Cabinet makers like myself will begin producing their own doors. I don't get it. I don't understand some of the reviews here. I've been using Decore for almost 40 years now and haven't had any significant problems. Because I'm a finish carpenter and cabinet builder I've only ever ordered doors and drawer fronts from them. They've made a few mistakes over the years but they have made good on them. I like to call them and place my orders over the phone. We go down the list of what I'm ordering and the salesperson reads it back to me. Then they email me the order which I can go over again to make sure it's correct. So I don't understand how a salesperson can get an order wrong. I mean, it's possible I guess, but I can look over the order myself. Mistakes might happen in manufacturing but as I said, they have always made good on them. Anyhow, I'll continue using them, probably until I retire. read more

This company has absolutely the WORST customer service. You know when the person that's supposed to be helping you says "that's going to be a hassle" - they SUCK... Not to mention their website is supremely CONFUSING and NOT USER FRIENDLY. And don't even bother trying to call for help when placing an order - what a JOKE. I'm a finished carpenter and own my cabinet shop. I have been ordering doors from them for over 30 years. I have had countless other door company's coming by my shop for my business, always turned them down because I have been using Decorative for a long time and I was loyal. And they made a decent door. Now I find they are charging $75 for a phone in order, $35 for a faxed in order, and have quadrupled the trip charge to $125. All this with them constantly having price increases for their products. I understand being a business owner you have to make a profit but, This is well beyond making a profit. Not to mention all the fees they charge. Well no more. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I am a project manager for a general contractor and we have been using Decorative for years for our custom cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Each order is made specifically as it's accounted for through their online ordering system and we've never had a problem with quality or accuracy. After reading some of the not so good reviews on here I think a lot of the problem that people are having in actually coming down to them placing their order incorrectly or unfortunately using a contractor that might not know what they're doing or the contractor might be trying to use a different material compared to what they had originally wanted. Also, when you do place an online order, the system will notify you if your order, in any way, might pose a problem for durability or warping which is very helpful! Our sales rep, Greg, is awesome! He is always available to answer all of my questions and comes by the office to check in with us probably once a month or so. I've never had a problem with customer service here, every time I call the customer service rep is helpful and attentive, even the delivery guys are very nice and friendly! Coming from someone who is in the industry and also a perfectionist, I can honestly say that I highly recommend Decoreative Specialties! read more

I am I custom Cabinet Shop owner I have been ordering doors from decorative for the last 15 years. It is sad to say I will not be ordering doors from decorative anymore due to the fact that the quality has gone way down hill. To charge $125 delivery charge is absolutely ridiculous to charge me to phone in a door order is absolutely ridiculous. Prices are inflated, more than any other door company out there. Talking to my sales rep I was told that their $125.00 delivery charge was going up to $250.00 in the near future. I asked why and he too was a bit miffed at the increase and said that after doing some research, all he could figure out is that they just want to make more profit while they can befor the covid pandemic ends. I can't speak for the sales team, because we went through another company, but the quality of these cabinets is excellent. They not only look great, but they clean easily, and are built to last. Find out who makes the cabinets before you let a contractor install them. If it's not this company, don't bother. THIS is the good stuff. read more

Horrible customer service. My husband has been a customer for 30 years as a licensed general contractor. For the last 2 years, their service has become progressively worse. They refused to take responsibility for delivery delays. He waited for an order for 3 weeks. Each time he was told it would be on the truck the next day. Three weeks later, his customer was fit to be tied. He had to go to another vendor. Decore-ative Specialities refused to take responsibility for the repeated delays and after several weeks of back and forth, the only thing they did was credit one delivery charge. He was still responsible for paying for doors he couldn't use and the delivery charge. They also like to drag out orders so they can charge $30 for each delivery. Don't use them if you have deadlines to meet and don't want your checking account drained by delivery charges. Why am I writing this review for him? Cause that's what the other half of a business does. Is there someone else I can refer you to that has integrity? The jury's out on that right now. Crappy cabinets. Crooked and several cabinets came in wrong size. Our contractor is bad too. Several doors came that didn't even belong to us. We are now in the process of re-doing all our cabinets and fixing the botched job. Nightmare! Nothing is custom. Lies. read more

Poor service, ordered doors to be bored, discussed boring with rep, received doors with no bore. When I called they said I was not charged yet it was even on my original quote and discussed when I confirmed my order. Delivery was set for the 1st yet they pushed it back to the 5th with no notification. Their office offered no help. Will never use them again, and I am a contractor. read more

We have owned several homes and had our contractor renovate them but never have we had the terrible experience that we had with this company. Starting with a sales person who did not get the order right in the first place, whom ultimately was no longer with the company after our order was placed and started, then the sales person was replaced by another sales person. Then after our home was torn up, we experienced the "that wasn't included in your order so now you owe more money" scenario. When we were given our quote we thought that was it. We used that amount to compare to other companies. If we had known our original sales person really messed up the original order and that we were going to end up paying a lot more than expected for these cabinets just to be able to finish our project, we never would have used this company. They literally would show up with our missing parts and say they would not leave them without additional payment knowing we could not move any further without those pieces, even though the prior sales person messed up. They delayed our project for a much longer period of time and if we wanted to finish a room we had to pay. They sent several cabinets of the wrong size and then gave replacement dates so far out we could not progress. The owner did not care at all and would not even discuss the problem. Buyer Beware and make sure you and your contractor are sure, in the very beginning, that you have ordered every single part and piece needed for your cabinets before you go with this company. My husband and I own a business and we used Cal Door when a Decore Ative Specialties Rep came walking in and offered us their services. We had never used them and thought we give them a shot since there were some slight differences in drawer boxes. This was a big mistake! Aside from not being able to order standard industry door sizes, (unlike most door companies who can accommodate most any door size), they only have certain sizes and styles--anything outside what they offer--you are out of luck! They will not do it! They assigned us a sales rep who never returns pone calls. In fact, we can't leave messages either, because the cheap crappy cell phones this cheap company uses don't have a very large range. Whenever we called the rep, his cell phone would state: "The person you are trying to reach is outside the calling area" then hangs up. We could never leave a message, get a hold of him or the company! How frustrating!! So then you call them. What a joke! I just spent 29 minutes on hold with this company to find out when my and if my order shipped. When I ordered them, they told us today. But when I called today to see if it shipped today, they told me me it wasn't going to ship until tomorrow! When I asked them when it was going to arrive at the destination, they said they didn't know??? What??? Then they offer me the shipping company's phone number so I can spend another hour investigating hat they should know!! No way! The worst customer service ever! I'm switching over to Cal Door!! When my contractor spoke to them regarding a solution, they immediately claimed the warranty was over and wanted us to buy new doors.
