I come to this coffee shop all the time to study and I've always loved it, especially since it's so close to my house but today I had a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered two mochas and while I was studying, I accidentally spilled a little water. I let the barista (Sarah) know right away and even offered to help clean it, but she responded with a really rude attitude, like I did it on purpose. She ignored me when I tried to help and it just didn't feel right. I get that things happen and people have bad days, but if you're running a business, customer service matters. There was no reason to be rude over a simple accident. This honestly ruined the experience for me and I won't be coming back. read more

The friendly staff, drinks, pastries, food presentation, and overall vibe of the place is emaculate. Finally a coffee shop that's got it's own flair, and a quiet one! There's something really special about this place, like being transported to a secret place that revolves its core on being present in the moment in taste and listening. The usage of their record player and vinyls for music is lovely, I love the physicalness of them changing the music. The outdoor area is very spacious and beautiful! My husband and I visited Dedo today, and we ordered the Cortado and Iced Matcha (Nishio), as well as the Cardamom Bun and Pecan scone. Everything tasted wonderfully. A Gem in the Wrigley Neighborhood So many good things about Dedo Coffee. First and foremost, the Mocha I had was very flavorful, and expertly made by the barista. The pastry, from Colossus, was very good too. There are so many other things to love. The interior is comfortable and inviting. The ambiance, with a great music system, is top notch. I came to Dedo Coffee mainly to enjoy the music, since I'm an audiophile. The shop is cozy, tastefully decorated, and when I arrived it was bustling -- a good sign -- though it did mean there wasn't an open seat inside. I ended up sitting outside on a very hot morning, which wasn't ideal, but the outdoor garden is a little haven in Wrigley: shaded, peaceful, and a wonderful spot when the weather cooperates. The people behind the counter were warm and welcoming, which made the visit feel inviting despite the crowd. My coffee came in a beautiful blue ceramic mug and tasted excellent -- smooth, rich, and well-prepared. Later, I was able to find a spot inside and really take in the music. I even met the owner, Scott, who put on a Jeff Beck record. The Luxman amplifier and Technics turntable made the Tannoy speakers sing -- punchy, crisp, and smooth. I'll definitely be coming back. Dedo Coffee has all the right ingredients: great coffee, a friendly atmosphere, and a serious love of music. Dear Yelp Community, First time visiting this new venue this month, and wonderful! This shop is small, kind of hidden in the back of the patio, but great upon entry inside. Food was great (baked roll with cardamom), and no order of coffee this time. Music was playing, and I enjoyed relaxing here for a pause. I came in really hoping to enjoy this place, but unfortunately I left very disappointed. While the atmosphere is nice--calm, good music, and a pleasant space to sit--the actual experience did not meet expectations. When I asked for an extra shot in my drink, I was told no, and the explanation I received wasn't convincing. For a coffee shop, that was surprising and frustrating. The coffee and tea selections are also extremely limited, which makes it hard to find something that stands out. To make matters worse, I purchased a croissant and asked if it could be warmed up, but was told they don't do that and don't even have a microwave. For the prices being charged, I would expect at least some flexibility with drink customization and basic options like heating food. Overall, I left feeling let down. I've had far better service and coffee elsewhere. Sadly, this seems to be more of a place for the "vibe" rather than for people who truly love and appreciate good coffee. I do not plan on returning and do not recommend it. read more

The space is beautiful, the espresso is excellent, and it was so convenient to be able to pick up a loaf of Colossus sourdough on the way to a party this afternoon! Was lucky enough to get to check out Dedo in the morning while it was quiet. The vibe is perfect - chill and stylish. They even have a little courtyard if you want to sit outside. Got some delicious pastries - including a tasty vegan donut, and most importantly, the iced vanilla latte I picked up was absolutely delicious! High quality coffee. Dedo coffee more like doodoo coffee... lol. Barista's were very nice and welcoming and ambiance was top tier! But quality of drinks was so disappointing. Matcha latte was basically just all milk and like 1tsp matcha powder. I gave it 2 sips and threw it out when I got home. Iced latte was mediocre and quite bitter, definitely an over extracted shot. Granted it was their soft opening, but I'll give them another shot in a couple months. Hopefully the quality of the drinks improve. read more
