My color weave is just perfect, and the cut for my fine hair is the best it's looked in a long time. Costs are quite reasonable for the quality of services. Maria is such a gifted stylist, and knows her product well. She is hysterically funny (as is the salon receptionist), lighthearted and takes care so that I don't freak out while my sensitive head is being washed/combed out! I'm such a baby! If I'm uber dumb about my next appointment, I have both an email and text to remind me. Can't go wrong with the location....candy store and pizza place in the same building!! .I pulled up to the salon 5 minutes before my 1:45 appointment today and sat in the car for two minutes. When I went in they informed me my appointment was canceled, it took months to get this appointment for my special out of town trip. I was upset and the receptionist said they tried to call me and couldn't get a hold of me so they emailed me. I had no voice mail or recent calls from them but I did get the email 2 minutes before my appointment, while I was sitting out front. I do find it hard to believe that my hair stylist fell ill only two minutes before my appointment. I think they saw me pull up and sent me a cancellation by email with the excuse we tried to call. Not sure if this was just an off day for Kaleena but this is the first time I cried about my hair in a long time. I had wanted an icy platinum blonde, which it kind of is, but it's very yellow. I expressed my concern and she put a toner on my roots that made it even more yellow and didn't blend it. There's also still pink in my hair from the previous color I had, which she told me she would fix, but I don't feel comfortable going to her again. She's a lovely person but spending nearly 300$ for what she did is upsetting. First off, I got my hair cut by Maria. I would give her five stars, she was kind, funny, gave me a haircut I was satisfied with. The one star... Nichole was another stylist at this salon. She was "training" her german shepherd while she was working at the salon. Now I am no professional dog trainer, but I don't think training consists of grabbing the face, smacking, YANKING (and I mean basically dragging the dog) by the collar attached to his leash. This is 100% animal abuse and it was horrible to sit through a haircut and watch. I will never go back to this salon because it is heart breaking to witness an animal being mistreated. read more

I went for a full color correction/full bleach appointment with Kaleena as my stylist. I am blown away with the results, she absolutely killed it!! I went several shades blonder, so the change was dramatic. She nailed the color, it matched the swatch I chose perfectly! It took a while, but she was bubbly, energetic and very cool. I forgot the name of my stylist, but she was kind and down to earth. We were 30 mins into a perm but she noticed the rollers wouldn't stay in the back. After a few tricks that didn't work, it was her professional opinion to come back in a month. I respect it. She ended up giving me a fade for free and i felt bad because i didn't have cash to tip. First I'll start by saying that a friend of mine works here and she told me to check out their website to see if she had any open appointments. Holy cool website. Making an appointment online is a snap - it's so great because I don't have to be that annoying person on the phone, "what about Wednesday... um, no, Thursday... do you have anything in the afternoon... I mean evening... oh, never mind... what about Tuesday..." etc. I can do all that online! Secondly, Christina gave me the best haircut that I have ever had (and I'm not just saying that). It was perfect. I came here a few months ago and Nichole colored my hair, she does an excellent job and I love the Goldwell elumen color line. I decided to come back a second time and scheduled "hair painting/ombré" because I wanted an all over dark purple ombre' to try something different and also since my birthday is coming up at the end of the month. I will be honest this place is top notch and the hairstylists are all excellent here but I ended up paying a pretty penny for my service and this is what I ended up getting. Later on that day after my appointment, I just was not as happy about my hair as I wanted to be. Not sure if it was just poor planning on the salons part because I don't think my hair set long enough in the foils, or if I should have had a consultation before coming in to show them exactly what I wanted, but I know other clients come here and get crazy fantasy/mermaid colors and I was disappointed that I didn't get that at all. I'm not saying that others should not come here because this is a great salon, I'm just more disappointed than happy with how my hair came out after all the money I spent on my service and would have not done the ombré part at all if I'd known this would be the result. I'm giving four stars this time is because I left with only 50% of what I had hoped my hair would look like. read more

Love this place. Right in the neighborhood too... score! I walked in VERY last minute, begging someone to help me out with my hair (as I was about to be in my best friend's wedding), and they really pulled through for me. To note, this is NOT a place where you just walk in.... I would definitely make an appointment. However having said that, they were able to fit me in last minute and help me out.... for which I will be eternally grateful, as my uneven hair will NOT live in infamy in wedding pictures!! Yay!! I went in with pretty uneven color, blonde at the roots, darker red at the ends.... they quoted me first, which I always appreciate... especially since I have very long hair (which translates into usually very very expensive). Marie did my hair, and did an amazing job... evened it out, gave me some highlights... I couldn't believe how well it turned out!! Yes, took several hours... but that is the price you pay when you have such a ridiculous amount of thick and long hair. I have never been to someone who really has an extensive conversation about what I want and my options... which was really helpful, especially as I am working on transitioning back to my natural hair color. I felt like she really understood what I was looking for before starting, and I was so happy with the results! Overall- very impressed by their color work. I wanted to go to someone who knew what they were doing (not someone who just "does" color) and she did a wonderful job! I would highly recommend to any of my friends. Debated making a complaint for the past month- but after my experience with the owner, I thought I better save someone else the trouble. I scheduled an appointment for a cut and color with W****, brought in pictures of what I was envisioning and the cut as well. We went over hair colors, highlights and base color.. after 4 hours of sitting in the chair Wayne showed me my disturbing haircut/color. There was bad highlights, no base color so it looked like my normal hair color with random blonde spots... The cut was so rushed and chopped. The whole experience was horrible. I went to work the following day and had coworkers commenting negatively, asking who did it.. I finally had to call my regular hair stylist to fix it as Defining Image was not open. I paid W**** $218 and paid my salon $60 to fix it. I could not wait 2 more days for the their shop to open just to call to find out if they an opening to fix my hair or not- that was just not an option. After speaking to the owner, she admitted that they had used bad dye in my hair- they "thought they pulled all the bad stuff but unfortunately that wasn't the case". I asked for a refund for my wasted time and botched hair- All I got was attitude about signing a form at the beginning of my appointment.. I don't think anywhere on the form did that expired or recalled products would be used in my hair. I still have yet to get a call from the co owner- it was been another 2 weeks. I have plenty of pictures to supply if needed- my 2 year old nephew could have done a better job. read more

All of the stylists are awesome, have a great sense of humor, friendly and are very welcoming. I recently went in for a drastic color change and I couldn't have been happier. I got exactly what I wanted but 100 times better than I imagined...and received tons of compliments! They carry great products, give spot on recommendations on what will work best for your hair and wonderful styling advice. I usually hate sitting for long periods of time, but I always enjoy my time here and look forward to my next appointment.
