Nothing I like less than waitstaff who doesn't know the menu well. I am extremely accustomed to East Coast hospitality , it's different here but the service was efficient just not particularly chatty or informative about the menu. Central location in downtown Santa Fe with very reasonable prices. I ordered the green chile pesto chicken sandwich, nothing particularly different about it .. the chicken was a little dry. Nice ambiance though and great location.

We wanted a green chili cheeseburger and were sent here by another bartender. The drinks are huge and strong. I liked the prickly pear one. We both had a green chili cheeseburger burger. The meat was fabulous. Perfectly cooked, Smokey, juicy, fatty. Everything I want in a burger. The green chilis could have been hotter for my taste but they were flavorful and there were lots. I'd definitely go back for the value and flavor. Worth hitting up for a cocktail. Great location. Clearly a locals favorite.

Went in for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't too crowded and there was no wait to sit. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered the stuffed Sopaipillas, which were very tasty, my husband ordered the carne asada tacos which also were very good. Warm friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend

One of the few places I found open at 8-9PM. I got the stuffed green chile cheeseburger. The burger itself was very good, but that green chile relish was amazing! I was also raving about the fries. There's a certain type of fry I like, and that was it. If I could get a plate of fries with 2 ramekins of that green chile relish to use as dip, I 100% would.

Del Charro is the restaurant connected to Inn of the Govenors, the hotel we stayed at while vacationing in Santa Fe. I wanted to love it, but really I loved the atmosphere, liked the margaritas, and didn't much care for the food. I went to Del Charro for drinks twice, dinner and drinks once, and breakfast three times, as they serve the free breakfast to hotel guests in the dining room each morning. We went to Del Charro for margaritas as soon as we arrived in Santa Fe, as we waited for our hotel room to be ready. My friend ordered the house margarita and I had the prickly pear. Both were good, and not too sweet. The house margarita is large in size, and has a good balance of mixers and tequila. I loved the atmosphere. All of the locals seemed to be drinking there at that time, and we were able to chat with some different people. Breakfasts were made to order for hotel guests, and we were given a choice of about 6 different options. I enjoyed it the day I chose the omelette, but the other days I found it to be greasy. When we had dinner there, I used my Yelp check-in order for free chips, salsa and guac. That caused some trouble as they had no idea what I was talking about. Also, strangely enough, in Santa Fe, restaurants seem to charge for chips and salsa. In the end, we were able to get free chips and salsa, but no guac. I also thought that the chips were broken up and messy on the plate. I'm glad we did not pay for them. My friend and I both ordered the enchiladas, which were served with rice and beans. We ordered the sauce Christmas-style (red and green). What we received were plates of food full of sauce that hid what we were eating. We couldn't really differentiate the enchiladas from the sides. It was sort of messy and the flavors all ran together. I also had one margarita there just as I was waiting for my ride to the airport. Again, the drink was good. They played old school country, which felt very fitting for the atmosphere. It felt relaxed and peaceful in the bar. All in all, I would recommend Del Charro for drinks. The bar is a nice place to sit and chat. I would describe the food as passable.

Cool Old West tavern two blocks from the Plaza. They serve New Mexican food and cheeseburgers. We started off with chips and salsa which was very good. I then had the Cowboy Bison Burger that comes with charred onions. It was very good. The service was very good too. This place did not disappoint!

Extremely rude service and not very good food. Drinks are okay but I will not be returning due to the rude employees.

Bad service, stale and over salty food. Too bad we don't have too many alternatives to this place for late night dining in our town.

Best bar I could find in Old Town. Real drinks, not the wine-based imitations at some other places. Really nice southwest feel inside.

The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists. Service was quick, friendly, and exactly what you want when you're trying to keep a night moving. Authentic, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Santa Fe. I'd order this again without hesitation!!!

We thought we might have got the closing time mixed up so once we found a parking spot, I went over to ask. They said they were moving all of the tables so that they could clean the concrete pathway. We asked if it was OK we sat outside still with our dog and they said that was fine. They moved us to the other side of the pillar which we originally didn't mind but then quickly realized there's no lighting there. So we were eating dinner in a very dim lit area. After reading the reviews, we were excited to try the fish tacos, tamales, and fresh chips and salsa. Unfortunately, none of these really were superstar standouts for us. The blackened fish didn't have a ton of flavor. I found myself searching for a salsa that had a little bit of salt and flavor to spruce up the fish taco. I ate one of the three and my husband ate the remaining. The tamales tasted fresh and the ratio of protein to masa was great. We ate the tamale mostly without the mole sauce, which we didn't really care for. The salsa and chips that came out as an appetizer were fine. The salsas were different and flavorful. I wish that when they dropped off the different salsas (which they do on a rotation) they would have explained what each one was.

Located in a quieter part in the edge of downtown, parking is usually pretty easy to find on-Street, and it's a few steps over to shops. The outdoor patio is secluded and quiet, and the indoors offers plenty of seating in a historic setting that's bright and fresh. On the food side, Palacio cooks their red Chile for over 8 hours, making it in my opinion one of the best and most flavorful in Santa Fe. Most other places I get Christmas style, but here, the red Chile is just perfect. On this trip, we had a smothered breakfast burrito and enchiladas suizas. Both were perfectly cooked, served hot, and resulted in another visit of what we expected from Palacio - great food and friendly service in what had quickly become our favorite Santa Fe restaurant.

I have been coming here for thirty-five years, and it blows my mind that after more than three decades, it keeps reaching new heights while fiercely retaining everything that made it legendary in the first place: the unbeatable high quality, the remarkably affordable prices, and those effortlessly cool, historic vibes. It is a rare, beautiful gem that refuses to compromise its soul, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This visit was extra special because my fiancé was a first-timer, and he was instantly converted, falling just as madly in love with the magic of this place as I did decades ago. On this particular afternoon, the lines were wrapped around the courtyard and the energy was absolutely electric. It was hella busy, which is a testament to how beloved this institution remains. Rather than waiting for a table, we decided to grab our food to go--a move that turned out to be pure perfection. We took our feast over to the historic plaza square, found a spot to sit, and ate under the shade of the trees while listening to live music drift through the air. With a beautiful, cool mountain breeze rustling through the plaza, it was the most quintessential, magical Santa Fe experience you could ever ask for. As for the food, it remains an absolute revelation. I ordered my enchiladas "Christmas" style, split right down the middle with both their famous, deeply savory red chile and their bright, perfectly spiced green chile. The first bite instantly reminded me why no one else can touch what they do here. The blue corn tortillas were tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the chiles carried that robust, earthy, authentic New Mexico heat that warms you from the inside out. It is a flawless execution of culinary tradition. To be able to deliver that level of world-class, scratch-made perfection at a price point that still feels incredibly generous is nothing short of a miracle. Whether you sit in their enchanting, labyrinthine dining rooms or pack it up for a picnic on the square, The Shed is the absolute pinnacle of the Santa Fe spirit.

I was surprised to find them close even though online says that they are open at 11am that day. I checked on google and it was suppose to be open. I called and they said that they are open but waiting for alcohol to be delivered at 3pm. Did they assume that every customer coming in is ordering alcohol? As far as I understand this is a restaurant that serves food and alcohol and not a bar. Shortly after my arrival, there was a large tour with 12 people showed up. I could see that the waiter was a bit flustered because he also had to tend to other customer as well as the tour. I guess this is where the tour take people for authentic taco experience. In my opinion these are more toned down gringo tacos. My taco didn't come with a side of sauce like everyone else. I also noticed that the tour all received a side of salsa which I didn't. I'm not sure if the waiter forgot. I had to flag down the waiter a few time because he also forgot my drink. I also ordered an agua Fresca watermelon and it wasn't made of real watermelon but flavor syrup from the bar. I wished I had known that it wasn't real melon. 2.5 stars for the food and 2 for service.
