The food is over priced for the quality you get but it's still worth the short walk for me. I usually go with the fajitas they are pretty good. I'll tell you what Here's what happened to me. The food was great, the ambience was very nice. Our waitress was very accommodating! But, when I got my check, I was dismayed. It wasn't necessarily the total that threw me off. Well, you know what, on second thought the total did throw me off. But what really changed everything for me was WHAT was on the check. I got myself three fine, draft beers and an entree. And I said, hey, let me throw in a club soda. Right? Club soda is just a little carbonated water. It comes out of the machine and it usually tastes more like what normal people order and not like club soda because no one orders club soda. Clearly, going through my logic, I wouldn't expect club soda to be charged. The way I see it, ordering the things I ordered and spending time here, I expected that the cost of the club soda would be in line with what I expect it cost them. Maybe $0. Right? A free seltzer? I had a really good experience. The decor is also fun and enjoyable for what it is. We ordered the House Margaritas for like $3 (They have a specials during the weekdays). They were some top notch margaritas. The appetizer we got was called the Lone Star Fries, with the Pulled Pork. Outstanding I ended up ordering the Lobster Quesadilla. Phenomenal ! The big reason I am giving 3 stars is because after the water was delivered, about 15 minutes later, we were wondering where the waitress was, as no one came to take our drink order. My fiance went inside and asked the hostess who said someone would be right out. 5 minutes later, the waitress came out. 20 minutes just to take our drink order with the excuse of the rest of her tables being elsewhere is not the greatest first impression. Back to the food, Although it's the same menu, I gotta say the other location has tastier food. We both loved the tacos previously, so much so that we were jonesing for them so we both got them again. They just weren't as good as the other place. Service was good and a nice looking place. Location is great and interior space is well set up, making good use of a huge, rectangular bar in the middle of the space. Even on a crowded night the huge bar absorbs a lot of people so it doesn't feel as cramped as many of the other smaller mainstreet bars. Chips on the table are usually good (warm and salty), and salsa is good too. Chips come out fast, and the waitstaff that is on water, chips, and salsa refill duties are awesome and on top of their game, bringing refills promptly. Word of caution: don't fill up on the chips! As far as appetizers, I've had only the guacamole. For the cost its not worth it, not anything great. The food itself is ok. Nothing extraordinary or rave worthy, but solid tex-mex style. As a vegan there were a bit too many meat based entres for my liking. I stick to the bean burrito, customize it to leave out sour cream/cheese. Yucca fries were good, but the ones down the street in Gallo are better. I've had the burrito in a taco shell, but it really cuts down the size of "burrito fillings" you get. Dessert was good, drunken plaintains were spicy and not what I would order again. Churros were definitely better. They have a good cocktail and tequila selection. Really good food, fun atmosphere, excellent music. My family went on a Saturday afternoon and found it to be a positive experience. My wife and I ordered the Taco Trio, it was tough to pick a favorite out of the fish, steak and chicken, but the fish slightly edged out the other two. I wanted to like this place more! While I loved the decor of this place, and the service was also great (shout out to Michelle behind the bar!), I found the food to be a bit uninspired. I got the chicken fajita wrap, which I found to be pretty bland. The fries served with it were a bit burned and nothing special. My friend ordered a burger which was cooked completely wrong; almost well done when asked for medium rare, so that was also disappointing. This place has open flames around the restaurant and as my friend stood up to go to the bathroom her hair caught on fire. She lost a good chunk of her hair and was extremely scared and embarrassed. I came to Del Fuego today with a few friends and loved this place . I Don't know how I missed it before . They have happy hour and food specials . I was most impressed by their draft beer selection. Most places have the same stuff but this place seems to have a great selection . I can be a pain when I eat out and the staff had patience and was very accommodating . I recommend the steak burrito . If you like dry burgers, this is the place for you! My burger was so dry I had to wash it down with a glass of water! They refused to take it off the check because I choked down almost half of it. This was was AWESOME! My fiance had the BBQ Brisket Enchilada and I had the Chef Steves Fried Chicken with sweet potato fries. OMG it was so good...all of it! There was a ton of Brisket in the Enchilada. Plate was so big that he only ate half and took the rest home. Same with the Fried chicken. Pieces were boneless and there were 2. I was only able to eat one with most of the fries (which were crunchy and delicious). The food was great, service was outstanding, beer/alcohol selections were great and the atmosphere was awesome. I've always been coined a restaurant snob by my dad. Over time, the rest of my family, close friends and even I, have become to accept the fact, that it is indeed very true; I am a restaurant snob. So when I really like something, they take it very seriously. I've dined in all types of restaurants from very high-brow to low, all over the country. When I say, Del Fuego is one of my favorite places, I'm not even slightly exaggerating. Unfortunately, I have to be honest- the cocktails are just okay. There's nothing really special or exciting about them, but they suffice and the bartenders are always super attentive and friendly. Their top-secret-recipe salsa is out of this world. It's not watery, yet not very chunky, but the perfect consistency of sweet and smoky with chipotle flavors. It's served with warm, salty, tricolor chips that are always replenished when low and that's probably what I like best about this place. I'm never just sitting there, sipping my margarita, waiting or my food to come. The salsa is truly amazing and as equivalently addicting as crack. My husband always starts with a huge plate of wings and they're hands-down his favorite wings he's ever had. He says it every time he eats them. I don't eat them, so I couldn't even give my opinion or have anything to compare them to. My favorite app (and I'd often get them for my entree as well) used to be the mussels and chorizo bowl, but they've since removed them from the menu. I was so sad about this for so long but have recently discovered the turkey chili and it's delicious! Sometimes, instead of ordering the turkey chili as an app (it is a rather smaller portion) I'll just opt to have it as my entree. I've had just about every entree on the menu from the chicken Cobb and Fuego salads to the fajita's and it's always extremely flavorful, cooked to perfection, with just the right temperature and perfect sized, generous portions. I find that lately, my favorite thing on the menu has been the Fuego mango salad with grilled shrimp. It's just always amazing and so satisfying. However, nothing beats Taco Tuesdays and Fajita sundays! We're not really big on dessert, so I can't say how it is, but the apple empanada's and drunken plantains always looks like heaven to me.
