Sometimes you're planning to go out then end up staying at home watching a movie with the gf and cozy up to each other. Then you start feeling hungry an look up places that deliver at midnight near you. That's what happened yesterday night when I ordered delvechios. I ordered the buffalo chicken 14' "specially" pie and she built up her own stromboli with bacon, pepperoni and mushroom. Now, I've lived in NY for 5 years and buffalo chicken slices have been my favorite there specially from this place close to my house in bayridge Brooklyn and all over the city. I'm not comparing this to the holy grail of pies in BK but there are so many wrong things about this pie that I felt compelled to write a review. Specially that a few months ago I ordered another chicken pie with spinach and feta cheese and it was so bland and tasteless that I threw out most of it back then. Now back to yesterday's buffalo chicken pie. There's exactly 2 "small" cubes of chicken in each slice I was picking up cubes from other slices and adding them to the slice I'm eating. The cheese looked over burnt and hard and the overall taste felt really salty an overpowering that I was pouring the marinara sauce that came with the stromboli to take off the edge off it. I was hungry so I tried to bear it for the first 2 slices (getting to the crust felt great coz the bread offset the saltiness a bit) but on the 3rd slice I took the cheese off and laid the 2 measly perfectly cube shaped- not the irregular usual shape of chicken- on the pie and ate it. On the other hand the stromboli was fantastic. Tasted good, cheese was perfect and the Dough was soft and tasty and the marinara sauce was really good. Ordered around midnight online. Order confirmed 10 minutes later and arrived 45 minutes from confirmation time. Maybe it would've helped if I was drunk but I'm not ordering pizza from there willingly! read more

They always fuck up my order !!! Then when I ask can the right thing be delivered to me it's always no . I hate this place , they decided to give me ranch dressing to go with a Caesar salad and tell me to come back and get the right dressing . After I waited 15 minuets in the parking lot for my food . I told the man I can't eat my salad and can I get a refund . He offered to refund me for the price of the dressing but not for the salad . As I'm typing this I'm getting more angry became I've been thinking about this salad all damn day !!!!!!!!!!!! This is like the 10th time my order has been screwed up.therefore I will be taking my business elsewhere since people want to act like they can't fix their mistakes . read more

I'm not sure how many kids who will end up going to Del Vech's search yelp, but I'll stick a review here anyways. If you're a freshman (or hell, any year) at ODU, Del Vech's is the place to be. Let me rephrase...it's the place to be at 2 in the morning when you're attempting to stumble back to your dorm after a party and have Monarch Plus to burn or only a few dollars left from the bar. I'm pretty sure they get most of their business later at night because that's when the pizza's guaranteed hot and fresh. Order by the slice or get a whole pizza made; it's cheap and good as long as it's hot. I'd steer clear during most daytime hours since the pizza's usually cold cardboard but there is the perk of dollar slices between 2 and 5...I'm pretty sure that's the right time. While it is one of the grimiest looking places you could grab a bite to eat, it's a damn good bite. read more

Let me start by saying I am a New Yorker raised in the Bronx, NY. With that being said I KNOW NY pizza. I've had other pizza in the Norfolk/VA beach area that advertise as NY pizza, however Del Vecchios is best I've had. It's super reminiscent of home!! All of my college memories are returning! Not my favorite pizza by any stretch, but it is good and definitely has a soft spot for me being an ODU alum. My friends and I would often pop in here between classes for pizza and now that Chicho's is gone - this is pretty much it. Lunch deal is pretty sweet if I do say so myself. read more

My friends and I like to come here during lunch time, they have the most affordable and cheap prices for a lot of food that you can get around campus. I like getting their lunch deal that comes with a side salad and one slice of pizza which also comes with a drink all for $6. I've tried their lunch pasta which was pretty decent too. My friend likes the garlic knots here. It gets pretty busy here during this time, but we never have trouble finding a table. read more

Like everyone said, $1 slices from 2pm -5pm, can't beat that. The pizza is boring, nothing special, just regular tomato sauce and cheese. It really has no real taste other than tomato sauce but it's $1 so 3 stars for that. Garlic knots are soft and moist like a pretzel but are super salty so beware, 2.5 stars and its $3 for half a dozen Overall it's a perfect menu for broke college kids at a perfect price. I'd go back for a slice rather than pay $8-9 for a mediocre sandwich. read more

My family and I love this place. The food is so fresh and is consistantly good. Being located accross from ODU college the buisiness has a constant flow people. The pizza is hand tossed and can be bought by the slice along with other numerous items in their list of specials. The restaurant is divided in two sections. One side is for takeout and includes several tables so you can eat. The second area is for casual dining where a server will wait on you. The cinamon knots with warm icing is a must and should be ordered at the begining of the meal as they take some time to prepare. Every will love them. The atmosphere is very comfortable. After a long drive in, stopped by for a bite. I didn't notice they had by the slice pizza, so I had ordered a calzone. Pepperoni and moz, made fresh with some red sauce to go (almost didnt need any of the sauce). I am a local restaurant manager and this is the last pizza place you need to go to. The sauces are on such a unique level that they taste excellent reheated the next day! Blasphemy, I know, but true. Customer service is comfortably professional and rightfully deserves your patience when the food is this damn good. Del vechs definitely has good food and dollar slices everyday 2-5pm! (Also the most busy time). Convenient location especially for college students. They have some great deals and the staff works pretty fast. I definitely recommend the cheese pizza, fried ravioli, and their salads. read more

This gem was introduced to my freshman year at ODU about 5/6 years ago . I just wish it were bigger honestly. Their wings could b better that's probably the most disappointing thing on the menu. Everything else is pure gold. Delicious flavorful pizza, calzones, mozzarella sticks, meatballs. Pasta is delicious and reheats well. Garlic and cinnamon knots are to DIE for. I don't live around there anymore and they pick and choose when they'll deliver to me area (wards corner) so it's rare that I get it now a days. But whenever I'm in the neighborhood I def stop by. Update. Service has been sketchy lately. Good pizza but there is trick to make better. I prefer pizza with a crispy crust. DL's is a little soft. I typically pop in for a slice or two. When you order your slice get one that has already cooled off or even sat for a while, even if is not your first choice for toppings, it's worth it. The crust reheats great, crispy and a few burned spots. That makes a good slice a great slice. read more

This is a nice little hole in the wall type of spot, garlic knots were good. Their lunch specials are great(two slices of pizza $5). They also have $1 slice from 2-5pm. I also had a chicken parm sub and they made the bread fresh on the spot. read more

I always get the spaghetti with meat sauce and two meatballs. I enjoy it every time. While there is nothing too unique about the spaghetti noodles, the meatballs are very tender and have a lot of flavor to them. Others have told me the pizza is very good, I look forward to trying it! read more

I like Del Vecchios but it isn't in my top five pizza places in Hampton Roads. It is, however, close to work and convenient when you need a couple of slices on the go. Go during certain times, I think 2-5 pm on weekdays, and slices are just a buck. That's a good deal. The garlic knots are good and I guess after the recent reviews, I need to try the cinnamon knots. I had the cheese steak recently and it was average. I wouldn't get it again. They have a pretty good menu with pastas, calzones, and other sandwiches. So, I will probably give them a try in time. If you are near ODU and want some pizza, definitely come here. It may not be the best pizza you ever had (or it might) but it's better than hitting a chain. read more

I'm going to start off by saying that I was born in NY and raised in Jersey. I know good pizza; this is good pizza. Definitely still not as good as slices up North but hands down, best in Virginia. Four plus on DelVecchio's. It's a warm, friendly environment with great food at great prices. Not what I'd call a romantic hotspot, but definitely a go-to kind of place for a pizza joint. I have doubted this place for so long, but I actually gave it a chance and I have become a huge fan of this spot! Sometimes you're just in the mood for a chill, relaxed environment where you can go hang out with friends and catch a quick, filling meal. This is definitely the place to go. I went here a few days ago and had a ceasar salad with a chicken-ranch pie style pizza and oh my goodness, amazingness! My meal only came up to $5 and the pizza was one of the best that I've had. I discovered this place when I was attending ODU across the street. There is a regular Italian restaurant in the front and a pizza shop in the back. I have one ever eaten the pizza because it's $1 cheese or pepperoni slices every day from 2-5PM and the pizza tastes good. Nuff said. read more

Yelp 100. So far I've had the shrimp Alfredo and a couple slices of pizza. The Alfredo was a pretty big portion and very tasty. I came during the day it was pretty empty so I was able to get my food quickly. I have also had regular cheese slice and Hawaiian. Decided to give order up a try to our place in downtown Norfolk. Was hankering for BBQ chicken, we added bacon as well and it was absolutely fantastic. The flavors of the cheeses, bbq, chicken, onions, bacon (extra), combined very well together with a smoky finish. The crust was crunch/chewy and tasted good. Delivery did take a while longer than expected, but probably due to our distance from ODU. Would order again from them.
