This is a takeout place. I have been here many time over several years and they seem to have maintained the quality of food. A tip on Indian restaurants. All restaurants cater to a particular cuisine from India. This one is Punjab. So order punjabi dishes from here. you don't go to an Italian restaurantand order burritos. You don't go to a punjabi restaurant and order South Indian dishes. Try their punjabi dishes and you'll love that. Their chicken 65 is the best. One of my most favorite Indian restaurants. Good flavorful food and consistent quality. I have been patronizing this place for many years and keep coming back. What I like the most is that they maintain their quality and do not cut corners. No unpleasant surprises so far. I typically order north Indian dishes but once wanted something south Indian and the owner told me "sorry I cannot do it today because my south Indian cook is out". I appreciate this kind of honesty. He would rather refuse business than serve something not up to his quality. This is the reason why this place has rave reviews and I hope they do better and stay here for the long run. read more

Parking is a mess. The lady from the next shop was standing outside shouting at people who were parking in front of her shop. I'll suggest taking someone along who can wait in the car while you go pick up the food from inside. This place is an absolute gem. Delhi Garden has been programmed in my phone for the last 5yrs. No other place compares, in Middlesex County. The place is super small, no indoor dining. Sometimes in the summer there are a few seats outside. But majority of orders are pick ups. Food is ON POINT. Each and every time, weekdays, weekends, holidays, different seasons, food is the same. Spicy level is perfect too. Fri-Sun the wait times are crazy, so order early! Basically anything on the menu is amazing, but a few favorites are Goat Keema, Butter chicken, aloo ghobi, mushroom mutter, chicken & rice, don't forget the naans!!! I came across this place and gave it a try. The Indian food is delicious. I've tried the Butter chicken, chicken tikka and garlic naan and all of it was delicious. The reason I gave it a 4 star and not 5 is because I wanted to have Chinese instead of Indian, but I was disappointed . The sweet corn soup had big chunks of chicken and it looked like they put tandoori chicken pieces. Same with the fried rice! It was more like eating a chicken biryani rather than fried rice because the chicken pieces were again like tandoori chicken. I will definitely go back for the Indian food though. read more

As somebody that travels all over the state and out, I must say. Delhi Garden is one of the best Indian take out spots I have come across in the tri state area. The Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice are , and the Paneer Kulcha slaps different, especially with the green chutney sauce. If you can't handle the spice, make sure you cool it down with a refreshing mango lassi. Highly recommend to anyone trying to get some high quality Indian food. read more

Go to spot anytime we want to do takeout. Pros: 1. Way more reasonably priced than most snobbish places in Edison with generic Indian food. 2. Most things we've tried have generally been good, some have been exceptional. Favorites include the Kathi Roll, Chicken Malai Kebab, Dilli Samosa Chaat, Goat Biryani, Chicken Keema and many more. Delhi Garden is our Restaurant of choice at the office when we are craving Indian food. The delivery time is pretty much as quoted over the phone and is usually about 1 hour depending on the time of day you call. The food is incredible. I am pretty predictable with my order. I always get the Malai Kofta because it is perfectly creamy and has a nice medium spice level. I absolutely love it and have a hard time ordering anything else. My friend at the office has tried a bunch of dishes here and has loved them all. The Garlic Naan is amazing, (2 per order) and so are the vegetable samosas. Don't understand the recent rave reviews. Delivery orders have typically taken well over 45 minutes to arrive. The sauce-based meat dishes have been extremely salty the past several orders. Tonight my husband ordered rogan josh and chicken korma and we had to throw them away because they were so salty. This is my go-to place for Indian food. It's strictly takeout or delivery, so don't expect to be able to sit down and eat. I would recommend calling ahead because they're pretty busy. I got the Chicken 65, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Naan. The Chicken 65 has a nice spicy kick to it. The Chicken Tikka Masala is really good here- creamy and flavorful. Both dishes came with a large portion of basmati rice. The naan was also soft and fluffy with a nice crispy bottom. All of this came out to $20 with the 5% discount. Delhi Garden is one of my favorite places to eat off-campus! This isn't a sit-down restaurant so you either order takeout or delivery. If you do go in person, I suggest you order ahead so they'll have your food prepared when you get there. Otherwise, there is a couch where you can sit down and wait, which typically takes around 10 minutes. The first time I went, I got the chicken platter. I absolutely love this dish! I am obsessed with the white sauce. I love how they add more of the hot and white sauces on the side in case you need more. The chicken is so flavorful and the lettuce is a refreshing addition to the dish. The second time I went, I not only got the chicken platter again but also the chicken tikka masala, which was also highly recommended to me. It definitely met my expectations! The creaminess and the spiciness of the sauce is balanced and never overpowering. The chicken was also not dry and still full of flavor. The price you pay for the portions are also worth it. I usually end up splitting the dish into two meals because of how filling they are. Now, I'm always in the mood for Delhi Garden so I can't wait to come back for more! read more

First time trying out Indian food and I had to admit this place really surprised me. I didn't expect myself to like Indian food this much before. Their chicken and lamb are very tender and well-seasoned. I personally have low spice tolerance but I just couldn't stop eating it. I wish they will eventually move to a bigger place so they will have tables for people eat at the restaurant. Make sure you order an hour in advance cuz the wait time could be longer than that. Food delivery time, at least it has never happened to me that they have said food delivery time less than 40-45mins while taking the order. So, make sure to order having enough time in hand. 2. Never ask them what's good and quick they can make for you. I ordered pudina paneer tikka(as per their reference) which really didn't go well with me. Of all the takeout orders I've called in these past few months, I expected to be disappointed at least once. Well, I haven't been disappointed...nope, not even once. Everyone here is always friendly, the food is consistently good, and I always end up in a food coma afterwards--hence why I'm a regular. As much as I try to order something different each time I place an order, I almost always go for the NY Chicken Platter and/or the Chicken 65. However, I've also tried the Cheese Dosa, Lamb Bhuna, Vegetable Samosas, and the Chicken Tikka Masala--all of which are just as good. If you like your food extra spicy, let them know when you order. Chicken is always cooked perfectly and tastes fresh and "healthier" than your usual chicken and rice platter. They keep it simple with just lettuce and naan on the side, which is what I prefer. White and red sauce are also delicious. Portions are huge and a great deal for the price. Parking lot is small and they take orders under a tent outside so it is better to call ahead and place your order first. read more
