Delicious deli in East County. First, very reasonably priced: I didn't look at my receipt because honestly, with a final tab of $17 and change how could I argue? I do know the sandwich with one side and my choice of "Dirty Brand" potato chips was a meal special. Lol look at the photo-1/2 sandwich on an onion roll stuffed with very thinly sliced turkey (Boars Head)and veggies of your choosing. Deli Belly offers many bread choices including this huge onion roll, sourdough, white, wheat and squaw. The bread was very fresh, the meat plenty(hey, you'd usually pay extra for all of this turkey,) plus crisp bacon and cheese. I chose swiss, but the usual suspects and havarti no less were options. Like most deli's you can choose your veggies, and I added banana peppers. I didn't watch while my sandwich was being prepared so I had no idea how much Deli Belly emphasizes the quality and generous portions of their proteins. You see the photo of the sandwich? The ratio of protein to veggies has to be @ least 70%-this is the kind of meal you split into two on your workday and skip the snacks! But I ramble.... The sides are better than you might think;homemade flavors. I added salt and white pepper to the two salads and naturally, added a toasty flavor to the clam chowder with black pepper. The $20 I spent including tip will be served up into three healthy, pre-prepared meals. *WINNER for the best new deli I've visited in 2019-2020. Ahh, I'm not quite through. The service was excellent-happy well-groomed, all around nice guy. Sodas: fountain style or premium bottle brand. Two additional sides on the menu plus another soup. Cheesecake slices, carrot cake and one other. Pick up and delivery. Open @ 10:00 the day of my visit. Parking lot.

We recently moved to El Cajon and have been looking for a new sandwich shop. This place has great reviews, so we were enthusiastic about trying it. We finished our sandwiches, which were soggy and somewhat unappetizing, and then opened our desserts to discover huge green spots of mold all over the whipped cream. I can't imagine how they missed that when they were packing it... and how they are handling their food to let it get that moldy. Yuck. Not feeling good about that sandwich I ate now.

Best sandwich spot in East county! There's a ton of places to get lunch but this is always my go too. Either the BLT combo or the varsity combo. Great food great prices

I giving a 3 star because of the fresh ingredients but unfortunately the past 2 times I have called in orders they have been wrong (wrong bread every time) even when we are ordering directly from the menu without any changes. The potato salad is usually amazing but this time around it was running and half cooked potatoes, for $23 dollar lunch we were highly disappointed. Also, waited 20 minutes to arrive for pick up and the sandwiches have not been started. I have a short lunch break which is why I call ahead of time. No one seemed to care actually laughed when we came in and it wasn't ready. We will be looking for a new sand which shop in our area moving forward.

Located in the outskirts of Rancho San Diego as you enter El Cajon in a small strip mall, you can find this newly opened Deli featuring high quality Boar's Head Meat that will certainly satisfy anyone's belly, hence the name, Deli Belly. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly young man, and my attention went directly to the counter with all the deli meats. Then, I noticed they had some bow tie pesto salad, and when it comes to pesto, one does not need to bend my arms. The food was no doubt a four star event, but when I added up the hospitality of the employees and owner, I was inclined to add another star. Well done and thank you for the great meal. My belly feels great....

I've been here three times in the last month since i discovered it. I haven't had a good sandwich in a long time until i found this place and now all i want are sandwiches everyday. You gotta just try this place, they're amazing, quick service, always order pick up and it's ready by the time i get there. FA sandwich is my favvvvvv. After reading all these great reviews I decided to try deli belly with my husband. ...honestly the sandwhichs were ok nothing special .......service was horrible we came in the the gentleman who was staying at the register had people around him and completely ignored us! .....the prices are not worth the sandwiches. ....almost $10.00 a sandwhich is a bit overly priced. ....overall I won't be coming back here sorry deli belly read more

Wouldn't give it to a starving kid from Africa,totally gives boars head a bad name especially if you're gonna skimp on the meat, the lady totally didn't put cheese on my friends sandwich after asking him herself if he wanted any. I ate lunch here several times, I tried a different sandwich on each visit, it always test better than the last. but now I especially like the Panini chicken chipotle on rye bread toasted Panini style, it's my favorite and its very spicy, so now I started to hate to go to Subways and eat their due to the no comparison of the test here than subways, its way tastier here. I will go there because I go for the test, customer service was all right with me. read more

I was so excited for a deli to open up in our area and watched anxiously as it was getting remodeled. I went in the first week they were open and ordered A couple sandwiches. They use quality boar head meats, which are very tasty. So basically they had everything going for them, but did not live up to expectations. The bread was stale, the meats were all weighed and measured and not very plentiful and I ordered avocado added to my sandwich which was probably the equivalent of an 1/8 of an avocado. I think I actually only had 2 bites that included avocado and I paid extra for that. I have to say I will absolutely go the couple extra miles to get a sandwich from Harvest Ranch Market which never disappoints. read more

Great sandwiches! Very nice staff as well. My family and I have eaten at pretty much every other deli and this is by far the best. We even had it catered for or sons birthday party and it was amazing all of our guests loved it. And it was an unbelievable price, especially for sandwiches made with great ingredients. read more

I've probably driven past this place a million times but somehow never noticed it. Tried it for the first time last week and I must say I was VERY impressed. I've had it 3 times since. You have the option to build your own sandwich or pick one from the menu. Pricing can be compared to subway (a bit pricy) but the taste and quality cannot be compared whatsoever. so bomb!!!! always get great service here, prices are good for the quality and serving size, and their delivery has ALWAYS been right on time if not 10-15 minutes early! my favorites are the chipotle so Gouda and double New Yorker; you won't find sammiches like this very often. fresh ingredients, high quality meats and cheeses, the bread is always fresh and soft. the sides are so good!! clam chowder and potato salad are my go to sides. if you're in the area and want a good and quick lunch, definitely stop by! thanks deli belly i love you read more

Finally a good deli in town! Everything is AMAZING at Deli Belly. Been there a few times since its opened up and the staff is super friendly and attentive to their customers. I highly recommend the Chipotle so Gouda. The Chipotle sauce used gives it a little spice and perfect kick to the sandwich. The sandwiches are packed with meat and toppings which is very filling. Everything is so clean and fresh from the food to the actual deli itself. The quality and portion of food is worth it! Definitely at the top of my list!!! read more

After months and months of procrastination, we finally went down the street and tried Deli Belly yesterday for lunch. So glad that we did!! The sandwiches were fantastic! Everyone in my family ordered the Belly Hot Jerk Sandwich. Delicious!!! The people behind the counter were very friendly. I ordered online and when I showed up, they were busy and had not gotten to my order yet. They guy felt so bad, apologized for the wait, and told me to pick any bottled drink that I wanted, on the house, to drink while I waited. The sandwiches were so yummy...definitely worth waiting for. The portions are big, and I love that they use Boar's Head meats (much healthier than the garbage they use at Subway). Their prices are very reasonable. We will be back!!! read more

Everything was just right. The bread was perfect, toasted right and not so much that you get sick. Meat was fantastic and ingredients put together well. I've always went to other spots where it was inconsistent... too much bread, soggy etc. IM STOKED THIS PLACE OPENED...FINALLY. The sandwiches are pretty good and there is a good selection but there's nothing really special about them.They do soup of the day and the lobster bisque is pretty good. Ordered through grub hub. They got the order wrong which happens but the sandwiches were pretty lacking in all toppings as well. One slice of sheese and half a stip of bacon per side makes homer something something.. seems like a trend looking through the other reviews on here. Probably wont be back. Any chain sandwich spot blows this experience out of the water. Sorry Deli read more

I love finding good delis that aren't a franchise. I stumbled across this sandwich spot in East County San Diego after trying a lot of the familiar ones already, like Antonelli's. Let me say this place is the best deli/sandwich spot in East County. It's a family run place and it couldn't be better. It's clean, friendly and extremely tasty. Good size sandwiches and nice sides to choose from as well. Come try a sandwich from here and you will not be disappointed! read more

History

Established in 2013.

By 1933, distribution of Boar's Head Brand products had grown. It was at that time that the founder, Frank Brunckhorst, dissatisfied with the quality of cooked hams which were available to him, decided that he would open a manufacturing plant of his own. The first plant was started in a small building in Brooklyn with only three employees. Even back then there were thousands of delicatessens in New York City, and there were a great number of small manufacturers of delicatessen specialties. The competition among these manufacturers was keen; and as a result, very high standards were set for the quality of delicatessen products. Frank Brunckhorst set his own high standards, and he would not vary from them. Before long, Boar's Head Brand products could be found in all of the best delicatessens, gourmet stores and fine food establishments in the New York area. Deli Belly uses only the best in all our products...Boars Head Quality Meats.

We had a semiprivate area reserved for us which was perfect. The array of meats was flowing and was absolutely delicious. The "salad bar" was not only full of all kinds of different salads, but there were also yummy appetizers and sides dishes. The building was attractive and inviting from outside, so I decided to go in and give it a shot. I walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff and asked what was their recommendation. Their Sweet and Smokey sandwich is very popular, but I went with their FA sandwich (corned beef, pastrami and cheddar cheese on white bread). It was absolutely delicious.
