This was our go to sandwich spot for a few years. Unfortunately, the last year and a half or so, the quietly has gone way down. They haven't gotten an order for our family if for correct in our last three to four visits. The employees on the phone always seem to be confused or have no idea what's even on their menu. The girl that worked there walked out from the back room, while on her cell phone, looked at me and the four customers waiting to place an order, rolled her eyes and walked back into the back room. I got a sandwich from here to go. So I can't say anything about the storefront itself. I got a #39 which is a turkey bacon and jack. A medium which is 8 inches I believe and cost 9 dollars, so head to head with a subway this place is more expensive. I don't love turkey normally so at most sandwich shops I find that there is too much turkey meat to my liking and I have to pick it off.... Moral of this story is that I think for the average joe paying $9 for a turkey sandwich there might be a shortage of turkey meat. The #39 is a hot sandwich which I really appreciate. The combination of the melted cheese and the DELICIOUS bread was soooo good. Again let me say the bread was soooo goooodd!!! The veggies seemed fresh and the options are ample. I was pleasantly surprised, because I saw the owner himself actually working there and he very personally recommended a couple different things I should try. He made me the sandwich himself and I must say the care he put in the sandwich, made me appreciate it so much more then any other fast food chain sandwich I have ever had. I venture out to Cali when I get a chance to escape the every day monotony of Chicago to see family. Five times outta the day we're off to the typical go-to spots to eat. Being from Chicago, pizza and sandwiches, even though simple in nature, cannot match up to our expectations (HOME OF THE LOU'S and POTBELLYS). All I knew was Ike's Lair when I imagined a Cali sandwich. It wasn't until Deli Delicious ruled that mantra with just one bite. So satisfied with my lunch, it inspired me to rave on Yelp ! And so it goes.. I take a step in and quick to analyze and critique every bolt and screw of the joint: a sharp, modern, and casual atmosphere. My eyes creep over to the prepping area (which is a vital telltale sign of seriously well-made food in the works). That was ten less points to pick at since the kitchen was kept at The NFI's 110% rating). That's my OCD behalf speaking. I was next up to order and I had to snap out of my endless critiquing zone: You either make your own sandwich or pick off the Deli D specialty menu. I was craving something hot, meaty and saucy. My craving led me to order the hot pastrami. No Question. I was even more excited about the topping options! Couldn't remember the last time I saw Alfalfa sprouts being offered anywhere! Piled mine reasonably packed with the sprouts, cucumbers and peppers. It was lunch hour and expected a dreaded wait for my order. Surprise! It came out in less than 5 minutes! Bread: Perfect. Not so "bready", crunchy, and you still taste that toast. No fillers. Meat: pastrami. So lean, you'd question the pastrami you've had before, cheap & excess marble with fat. This is "that prime stuff". Veggies: "Just Right". Crisp, and chilled. Sprouts, cucumbers, and peppers sprinkled not too much that it's all you taste, but just enough for that mild heat. Sauce: dressed with Italian and vinaigrette, but not drenched. Speechless with a mouth full. Need I say more? Deli D's got to spread over to the Midwest for sure. read more

Absolutely a go to restaurant!!!!!!!!! Clean, friendly, helpful, great choices and DELICIOUS!!!!! My kid and I stopped in because we were both hungry but not wanting to eat "fast food" type food. We found this place here on Yelp and are so glad we did. The place looked busy so we were worried it would take long but the crew moves quickly. The girl taking orders was sweet, friendly and helpful. The sandwiches were amazing!! Everything taste fresh and had the perfect amount of toppings. I get to the car and find her sandwich has everything on it. I go back inside and instead of remaking her sandwich they take off the turkey cheese and cucumbers and put it on a different new bread. 3rd time now they have messed up my order! It's like the workers aren't trained as to what substitute means or they don't know how to put a doordash order into the computer. Last time I paid extra for bacon and avocado it was missing, said no cream cheese and olive oil and vinegar the next time (cream cheese still came on the sandwich) and the other day I chose a different cheese and got both cream cheese and cheddar on it and on top of that I got it toasted (more like burnt) But my sandwich is a cold sandwich so idk why they toasted it?? Maybe new workers either way they need better training!! And on top of all that I can't even call and speak to a worker about making sure they read my order right or after the fact when I got my sandwich because mailbox is full. I just ordered three large sandwiches and had them delivered, my sandwich was the worst sandwich I've ever had! I'm really disappointed and I feel like I wasted my money! I myself ordered turkey roast beef with provolone cheese everything on it adding sprouts and I also ordered extra meat and I paid $1.50 more for it. My sandwich had hardly no meat on it it had a tightly folded little piece of roast beef one slice of turkey I had about four big hard slices of provolone cheese which I didn't order extra cheese I ordered extra meat no meet Harley at all in my sandwich. No sprouts, hardly no lettuce, two tiny tomato slices, in the bread kept falling apart. The bread was not toasted so it should've been soft and moist every time I pick it up or try and take a bite of crumbled and fell to pieces. That was the worst sandwich I've ever eaten! I added salt pepper and none of that was put on there. I don't know if they're out of ingredients, extra busy, wet but I paid $10 times three sandwiches and they should replace them for me.Based on my experience, I do not recommend this place for sandwiches. I wish I could find a sandwich place that would actually sell sandwiches that look like the pictures in their advertisements with lots of nice fresh produce stopped hi nice to meet folded nicely and enough of it just like they show the pictures. I don't understand why they don't make it this way they create the advertising photos because they know that's what people want so why not make your sandwich look like your pictures? I've never really been a sandwich fan. I mean, I like them but not my first choice for a meal, let alone to go and spend extra money when it can be made at home. However, over the last 4 months I have thoroughly enjoyed every sandwich I've had here....and its been about 1 a week The staff is always friendly even when the line is to the door and the seating area packed. The owner Russ is a great guy. Always friendly and checking on the guests. He seems to be great with his employees also, which is a huge bonus to me. Nothing worse than an absent owner or a jerk to the staff. Their sandwiches are huge. I've found I have to order the mini if I want to enjoy the beer battered fries also. If not having fires (doesn't happen, haha) the small is the perfect size. Tried the large the first time and just couldn't finish it. And I have an appetite! I've have not experienced any hickups with food or service here. And with as many times as I've patronized this establishment, that speaks volumes! Sometimes shit happens or someone is having an off day. I never base a review on a one time visit, and if you have several negative reviews under your belt maybe it's you! I tried Deli Delicious for my first time last week and really enjoyed it. I got a mini sandwich, cup of soup and a drink(meal), and he got a large sandwich, French fries, and a drink. We both agreed that all of the food was delicious. I really loved my broccoli cheddar soup. The fries were particularly good. We might go back just for those. The service was good, nothing too special during this experience. Our only complaint is that it was a bit pricey for a sandwich joint at just over $20 for all of our food, I believe. Must try any of their chicken sandwiches! They slice the chicken like deli meats rather than chicken you those cubes, and that's a game change, causes less mess when eating (in my opinion). There truly aren't sandwich shops in Turlock like this. I've heard it's "like Mr. Pickles", but it's really not. Everything tastes really fresh. my husband said there wasn't as much meat on his as, say, Togo's, but added that this meat tastes fresh, perhaps it was actually cooked there and not shipped in. It's SO flavorful and juicy. The beer battered fries are AMAZING. I'm on a diet, so I was only going to eat one. ...I guess I'll jump back into that diet tomorrow because I couldn't put the fries down. Crunch, fluffy, salty and a tiny touch of sweet. They'll ask if you want ranch, but trust me, you don't. You want to taste these fries solo! I wish I could say the same great things about my salad, but I can't. I came here with my bestie for a quick lunch she had a sandwich and had a grilled chicken salad with Avocado, Cucumber, Cheese, Tomatoes, Pickles, Red Onions, & Sprouts with a side of oil and vinegar. I told them to hold the sprouts because pregnant women can't eat sprouts. They did. It was a great salad but I think $8 for a salad is a little much. I'd come back and try the sandwich's.
