We had a fabulous breakfast at Deli Works! There was a sign out front with daily specials and breakfast bowls were only $8. Kim, the clerk, was super friendly, made recommendation, and was efficient. The menu is pretty flexible, you can get anything how you want it and the prices are super reasonable. They serve breakfast and lunch. Food came out quickly. I had a Southwest Breakfast Bowl with bacon and eggs over easy. It also comes with potatoes, cheese and chipotle sauce. The bowl was hearty and delicious with perfectly cooked eggs. The chipotle sauce provided a little kick. The coffee is good, too! The dining room is colorful and lively. There is a tv and restroom facilities. The strip mall has limited and tight parking. I loved this little place. I'll be back.

Holy smokes Batman this was delicious! Very rarely nowadays do you see homemade sausage Pattie's on a menu. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious and the cashier is so sweet and helpful. The location is clean, friendly, and well decorated. I love it here!

Yes it is as good as it looks. They've mastered their crunch, flavor, fresh ingredients combination. FYI they moved to a new Holly Ridge place and this is my first time eating at the new location. I've submitted an address change: 13500 NC-50 Hampstead, NC, 28443 Absolutely the best breakfast spot in town and in my travels. They put SO much flavor and love into the food. Everything is elevated -- the flavor, texture, the ingredients -- YUM. I absolutely love their southwest omelet with the pickled onions offering a sweet and slightly tart crunch. How has no other breakfast join thought of this?? Then there's the crispy crunchy bacon, the perfectly charred grilled chicken, the whole fresh avocado inside, the perfectly balanced creamy Southwest sauce. The wheat toast was flavorful with a nice crisp edge. This place is a GEM and most ppl are lining up at the wrong breakfast joints (which I am more than happy with). I've had this a few times before and first fell in love with the Southwest bowl which has the perfectly fried potato's offering a crunchy bite and soft pillowy inside. This place is better than most 2000+ review 4.5 star place. Service is fast and ambiance is homey/fun. At other places, the toasted bread is boring and an accessory ppl skip over but here it is a delight.

So good we came back a second time during our trip! Our first visit we got the breakfast casserole & French toast casserole and both were good! Our second trip we got the southwest bowl & chocolate chip pancakes and they were to die for! So much flavor in the southwest bowl without being too spicy for breakfast! The pancakes were full of chocolate chips and had such good flavor! Will definitely come back again the next time we are in Topsail!

The whole restaurant is super cute, albeit it does get really hot inside with only fans when there are lots of people inside. The tables are clean and the staff is friendly. The avocado toast has awesome goat cheese and the bacon you can add on is wonderful. The bad: Honestly extremely disappointed today. This is my third time here and I've been recommending them to all of my friends and family. We came in at 2 pm when they close at 4, drove 30 minutes for lunch, for the "kitchen to be closed". No where on their website or anywhere else do they advertise that they may close the kitchen early and I asked when it typically closes and they said they can just decide to close it when they feel like it, so they're only serving coffee and smoothies. We opted for smoothie bowls and they were completely liquid, we had to drink them and not eat them with spoons. There was also chunks of frozen fruit that didn't get blended and there was no spirulina and zero coconut flavor. Not sure who was working today but it was honestly such a bad experience that I don't think I'll be back or be recommending them to people anymore. $13 for basically a banana and handful of blueberries with melted juice and frozen pineapple chunks is highway robbery. Added two stars for the two prior experiences, I guess.

Conveniently located in the center of Topsail Island, it was a 15-minute drive from our 2022 Airbnb stay. With next two stays at Saltwater Suites in 2025, the drive was less than 5 minutes. In the three stays, we had breakfast here six times. It had everything we wanted. My son and I are sticklers for routine. In the first four visits, we ordered the same thing: 2 scrambled eggs with toast & home fries for me, and pancakes for him. Orders were placed at the counter. Then we went upstairs to the dining area and waited for the orders to be served. There were no issues with the order, food or service during these visits. In both 2022 visits, I had coffee; in both 2025 visits, I had Mountain Dew. Refills are free for both coffee and soda. My order tasted better than a similar one I had at Tick Tock Diner in New York City. It was great value for money. I always felt that I ate enough to last me through lunch. There was no reason to try anything different. Unlike Tick Tock Diner, NY Corner Deli did not have any TVs in the dining area. I appreciated this as we go to the beach to get away from the world. Furthermore, there weren't many people in the dining area whenever we were here (before 9am). Can't speak for the dining experience at any other time of the day. Things were slightly different when we visited in 2026. Pancakes were not available, so son had french toasts in both visits. In the first visit, I ordered my usual; in the second visit, I tried something different and ordered western omelet (with toast & home fries). Don't let the photo fool you. The western omelet was bigger than it looked. "Hearty" is an understatement. It was so filling that I skipped lunch and had a light dinner. Mountain Dew was no longer available as the establishment defected to Coca-Cola, so I had Coke Classic both times. If you like a decent breakfast and a quiet atmosphere, New York Corner Deli is the place to be. It will continue to be our breakfast place whenever we are in the Topsail / Surf City area.

The walls are covered in black-and-white prints of the Brooklyn Bridge, sepia-toned yellow cabs, and metal street signs screaming Broadway and 5th Ave. The seating is divided into two thrillingly average, non-beachy options: Upstairs or Downstairs. Both levels feature the exact same standard-issue, wobbly metal diner chairs, with vinyl tables upstairs. The menu is an everything menu, nothing specific, no specialties, consider this a one stop shop for anytime of the day. It serves up a breakfast that is heavy, completely unpretentious, and designed to fill you to the brim. Like the rest of the menu, it doesn't aim for culinary innovation; it aims for maximum density and they are open when everyone else is closed. By the time you scrape the plate clean, you are utterly, heavily full and ready to take on the day. Cheers!

The Food Many of you know how much I travel, and I don't say this lightly, these are the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Period!!! I ordered the Crab Benedict, while my wife enjoyed the California Benedict. Every bite was simply outstanding. 2. The People The entire staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Yes, you may wait 25 to 50 minutes for a table, but I can honestly say it's worth every single minute. Great things are worth waiting for. 3. Kate And then there's Kate, the owner. She is truly one of a kind. Her kindness, humility, and positive spirit radiate the moment you meet her. More than anything, her faith is contagious! We spent just a few minutes talking, yet her words left a lasting impact on both of us. As we were leaving, she handed us a small pin that read, "God's Got This." Wow... it was exactly the message we needed at that moment. Please take a moment to read her story in the attached photo. It's inspiring and a beautiful reminder that faith, hope, and love still exist all around us. From now on, every day can be "CB" day for me, because I'll gladly return to Kate's for what I believe is the best breakfast, served with the biggest hearts. Thank you, Kate, for reminding us that sometimes the greatest thing on the menu isn't just the food, it's the love, faith, and kindness that come with it. And the apple pancake was my least favorite; the apple filling on top tasted like it came from a can. Super sweet and didn't taste fresh. But the pancake itself was still good. This place does not take reservations and I was told the line goes out the door in the summer. There was a large line even while we were there in the off season during a storm. So if you want to eat here on a weekend, or the weather is nice, proceed with caution and be prepared to wait (standing outside--there is no seating while you wait).
