We started with the CRAB & SHRIMP TERRINE severed chilled...the crostini's were so hard I could barely eat them. Maybe that's how its supposed to be but it makes it unenjoyable. Moving on to dinner, I order the tamale corn cakes and my friend order the short rib and it was so flavorful. We ended with the churros (my favorite) and I love to try them at any restaurant I visit. I have wanted to come here for 3 years and so glad i finally came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Delicia is a dainty looking place tucked inside a corner in SoBro. Don't be fooled by how small it looks on the outside; it is surprisingly spacious inside. While waiting for the rest of my party, I stopped by the bar and chatted up with the bartender. He made me this amazing drink - something Rosa. It is 3oz guava puree, 1.5 oz mezcal, 1.5 oz st. Germaine liquor, and a dash of bitters. Shaking and strained, with lemon as garnish. TRUST ME this drink is worth the $10. It is just phenomenal! It has the scent of smokiness from the mezcal, taste of the sweet guava puree and citrus lemon the strong sting of the alcohol is covered by the st. Germaine liquor. It instantly brought me to the beach. When the rest of the party arrived we were seated. I ordered a few more of the same drink. A ceviche and short rib with ancho salsa. The rest of the group order shrimp and crab terrine, queso loco, cazuela de mariscos, empanadan, scallops, and churrasco. The ceviche was... underwhelming. It was too fishy and soupy. Very very soupy there was barely ceviche there. It didn't taste great. My friends actually said my ceviche tasted better and more authentic. Sorry Delicia, sometimes it is better to just keep the normal recipe and not fancy it too much. The crab and shrimp terrine was okay.. not mind blowing, but above average. It has more cream and cheese than shrimp and crab. The queso loco with chorizo was amazing. Everyone devoured that dish extremely quickly. My dish was phenomenal! The short ribs was braised in this red wine mole sauce and it was melting in my mouth. It tasted so well with the cauliflower mash and ancho salsa and roasted potatoes. Everyone's dish was also very delicious and nicely portioned. We all tried a little bit of each other's dish. It was sooo sooo sooo good! The service was fantastic because two of my friends are gluten free and dairy free and they helped tailor the dishes for us. 5/5 The place was spotless, clean, great dimly lit, but lively ambiance. 5/5 While the appetizer was not very impressive. Talk about a winner of a dinner! We now live within walking distance of Delicia and tried it for the first time. I cannot wait to go back! The inside decor is very cool. I love that La Mulita is their more casual taco bar. We sat inside, which has a very cool ambiance. The waiter was very attentive and answered any questions we had. We started with the queso fundido. Awesome! The cheese, chorizo, and tomatillo sauce were a perfect marriage of flavors. For the entrees we tried the duck enchiladas and the empanadas. I would get both these every single time we go back to the restaurant if there were not so many other delicious sounding entrees on the menu! Enjoyed dinner here last night. The fresh guacamole was delicious as was the Shrimp and Crab Tarine appetizer. I ordered the Tamal Corn Cakes which were fairly tasty, but the star of the evening was my husband's duck enchiladas. They were flavorful and tender and beyond my expectations delicious. What a great meal I had!!!! I'm not from Indy, and consulted my best friend, in situations like this (Yelp). I liked the look of the menu, so I went to Delicia's on Saturday when it was snowing hard. I arrived at 5pm, and was able to get a table with no problem. By the end of my meal, at 6pm, the restaurant was busy even with the snow falling outside. The restaurant was a nice place, not too fancy, but not too casual either. It was just right for friends, groups, or dates. People looking for a bit nicer dining experience can eat here without breaking the bank. Yelp classified it as Mexican, but it's not your usual Mexican. It's upscale, and there's no complimentary bowls of chips and salsa. I had the house salad to start with, which was bigger than your usual house salad, and the ingredients were fresh. There wasn't any crunch to it and the orange tamarind dressing wasn't very overpowering. For the main meal, I was undecided between the CHILE EN NOGADA (roasted poblano pepper, ground pork, beef, apricots, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, goat cheese salsa, herb green rice) and the ANCHO PEACH PORK. The server recommended the Chile en Nogada. I fell in love with this dish. It was mindblowing! It was sweet and savory, and not spicy when you blend everything together. I would strongly recommend this dish if you have a sweet tooth. I was so full after dinner, the portion was huge, but I had to have dessert. Picking the dessert was another difficult decision, and again, I enlisted my server's help. I hadn't had churros in months, and was craving them, but the tres leches looked special with guava compote and lime meringue. The server said it was a difficult decision, but she would say the tres leches. Again, she didn't let me down, the tres leches was one of the best I've ever had. The lime meringue had the texture of hard whipped cream, which accompanied the cake really nicely. The cake was very moist. I forgot that I was full after one bite. I finished it with ease. I also had one drink, the fire and ice. It had jalapeno infused vodka, and it was spicy but with a hint of sweetness and I loved it. This place is definitely one of my new favourites. We went to meet two friends for dinner, and everyone tried different drinks and different food. I loved the agua fresca, and my fiance and his friend both loved the "Conquistador" drink. the table split empanaditas which were a must-try; very moist and flavourful. I ordered the duck enchiladas which was BOMB. honestly one of the best meals I have had in the city overall. I would eat this every day. The meat was erfectly cooked, the flavour was balanced, and the green rice side dish paired perfectly. I was totally blown away. My fiance ordered the pescado el pastor. The portion was gigantic, and he was very satisfied with it. One friend ordered the empanada and the other ordered the tamal corn cakes. Both were very happy with their choices. Looking around at other tables, I honestly do not think you could go wrong with anything on the menu! I will say there are a few downsides- one, you cannot make a reservation and they will not seat you at all until your entire party is present. This sucked for us because three of us came together, and we had to wait for the fourth who was coming from work, and who had to find parking. That is the other thing- parking sucks! The most complex and rewarding Latin American cuisine I have ever tasted. The chef seems to have an exacting touch with spice, salt and texture. Every dish seemed infused with spice and rich deep flavors. Roasted corn, gentle cream and tomatoes... each bite delivered a full experience that told a story of careful and intentional cooking. Even the oft-overlooked black beans were a study in perfect texture and earthy undertones. We had the mussels and the duck enchiladas, and were truly impressed. Delicia was to die for, the Mexican dishes were so artfully crafted with flavor and appearance. I had never heard of this upscale Mexican restaurant and it was tucked away on college avenue. I am so glad I decided to give it a try! The inside of the restaurant was fancy and not as casual as expected. There were a lot of customers and the vibe of the restaurant fit very well with the setting. It was cozy but not empty or "dead" inside. It was a spin on fine dining but in a comfortable fashion. I would say I am somewhat of an adventurous eater but usually stick to what I know. The menu at first seemed a bit sophisticated for my palette as they were not as traditional. A Lot of the dishes were classic dishes that had been creatively reconstructed into unique but tasteful dishes. As I read the menu more closely I couldn't decide which dish I wanted. They all sounded delicious. I decided to get the Barbacoa Tamal. This wasn a spin off of a classic tasmale but it was descartes. The meat was instead on top of the cornmeal base and garnished with cheese and tomatoes. This dish also came with a side of green cilantro rice which was very flavorful but a bit spicy for my weak taste buds. The dish was absolutely delicious. I Was afraid the dish would be small but it was perfect and left me feeling very full and satisfied. As for the pricing it was very reasonable. Each large dish ranged from $25-35 which in my opinion was exceptionally good for upscale Mexican food. The portion sizes were also pretty large and with an appetizer you would be left feeling very full. The customer service was great. Amazing salsa and the fresh guacamole with pistachios and jalapeños is amazing!! The main entrees are different in their own special way. The flavors are definitely unique to the Caribbean. I have only tried a couple items on the main menu but they were very good. Their cocktails are great. They make their own margarita mix in house, and the other custom cocktails are delicious. I have been told the acoustics are bad, i would say it can get a little loud when crowded but for me it wasn't a problem. Parking can become a problem with only about a dozen spots out front, but what place doesn't have that problem in So-Bro. While there is no dedicated GF menu, a majority of the items are either GF as is or might need a small modification to be GF. Sadly, the sweet plantains contain flour and are oddly a no go. One thing to keep in mind about Delicia is that they are a scratch kitchen, so the food does take a little bit longer to make. Service The servers are generally friendly and helpful when walking through the menu. They do a good job of answering my questions/concerns and verified with the kitchen if they were unsure. Food The food isn't bad and the menu consists of a nice selection of items.I feel like some of the items are hit and miss, case in point the short ribs. The description and my expectations didn't seem to match, but hey, there are plenty of other options to chose from. Bebidas The prices are in line with what other restaurants are charging for cocktails. While this may seem high, trust me, it could be worse. In some cities it is almost impossible to find a cocktail under $15. The options are pretty decent. While everyone raves about the Fire 'N' Ice, I wasn't exactly a fan. It might have been the hibiscus, but the after taste seemed a little off. If nothing else, it is a really strong drink. The margarita's and mojitos are really good if your looking for something sweet and strong. Bar I love the bar seating. If you are looking to have drinks and appetizer, this is the way to go. Parking This can be a hassle. While there is a small lot in the front, as well as a few spots in the back, it isn't enough for the number diners. Plus, it is shared with La Mulita. Your best option is finding a spot along College. Noise Delicia's industrial design plays a huge factor in this. The high ceilings tends to amplify the noise and it can get extremely loud. In an unassuming building with its own parking lot (very rare in SoBro). it was a total surprise inside... very simple, clean, and spacious. The hostess was very helpful, as my reservations from an online service did not come through. We were seated at the bar where we met our server and bartender. She was very helpful in sharing thoughts on drink, appetizer, and meal options. She was very well versed on all menus, and made suggestions when asked. The duck enchiladas were so very good. The pork pupusas were very flavorful, but the braised octopus appetizer was to die for... it literally cut like butter and was seasoned perfectly. Date night on a Thursday, walked in and were seated right away. Short version: terrific entrees and cocktails, appetizers were good, dessert was a little disappointing. Looking forward to eating here again. Appetizers: Salsa trio. The salsa verde was taste, and the pineapple habanero was delicious (and creative- had a little bit of basil in it that was very novel and surprisingly delicious) but the red salsa was flat- needed more acid and/or salt. The chips were fresh with a wonderful crunch and perfectly salted. Watermelon salad with whipped ricotta. This was beautifully arranged and tasty. Drinks: Very well made (and classic) mojito, and a creative "pulparindo" made with tamarind-flavored vodka that really tastes like the "pulparidno" candy, although balanced so that it is not too tart or too sweet. Delicious and clever. Entrees: Mole chicken roulade with plantain stuffing with griddled apple slaw and carmelized brussel sprouts. A beautifully arranged dish with a delicious mole, perfectly cooked chicken with just a hint of sweetness from the plantains. Went beautifully with the apple and bits of peppers included. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly but ever-so-slightly undersalted. Overall, a delicious dish that I would order again. Barbacoa empenadas. Crisp, delicious pastry shell with excellent tender filling and a delicious poblano sauce. Wife said that it was delicious. Dessert: Horchata flan. We were super excited for this, as we love horchata and love flan. Overall, this was a little flat- the flan was a little gritty and bland, and the horchata flavoring was nothing particularly exciting. Would skip dessert here next time. read more

Once seated, we were greeted by our lovely waitress (I wish I remembered her name so I could give her a shoutout for being the most amazing and professional and personable and knowledgeable waitress I've ever had). We ordered the guacamole appetizer to start, which was good, but I really can't handle much spice in my food and I got a few jalapeño seeds and almost cried (lol). I ordered the winter preparation of the salmon which was goat cheese polenta with roasted red peppers and asparagus with the salmon filet in the middle-simply delicious and I licked my plate clean. My friend ordered the fish tacos and also enjoyed them. Then we just had to get the churros to finish off our girls night. They are dipped in chocolate and half are covered in fruity pebbles and half in sprinkles. Warm and fried and chocolately-what more could you want? Cool vibes and awesome decor. It's definitely an experience and it was more of a drawn-out meal which we actually really appreciated because we needed the time to chat! I will note though that the dinner prices are higher than we were expecting-the lowest entree was $19 I believe with most about $22-24. With tax and tip, my half of the appetizer and dessert and my meal, it was $42. But the service and fun night with delicious and authentic food was worth it. It tasted like chicken, rice, walnuts and canned cream of chicken soup were mixed together and then put on a plate and sprinkled with the remaining ingredients. There was no real flavor to this at all. Neither of us liked it. I would have liked to try the steak on the Devour menu. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive but unobtrusive. My fiancé and I had Valentines dinner at Delicia last night and it was pretty solid. I can admit it's not my #1 cuisine of choice but this place brings depth of flavor to everything! We both enjoyed our cocktails, an old fashioned and a mojito, the sugar in the raw rim was such a nice touch! We were both impressed with how strong they were too. We started with the guac as an appetizer; the chips were thin, salty and still warm. They were super good on their own. I add jalapeños to my guac at home but the serranos in this were a lot even for me. That being said everything was super fresh and flavorful, some might just ask for less heat. I ordered the shrimp Brazilian coconut stew and the sauce was really nicely done. The shrimp and the rice were cooked well. No complaints and I recommend! We ended our meal with churros. For me they were a let down. While the texture was right I got a taste of old fryer oil with each bite. My fiancé disagrees. To each his own! I've been meaning to brunch at Delicia for the last 3 years and now I'm so disappointed it took me this long! The Bloody Mary's are made in house and are delicious, they have a chili salt rim that really adds to it! I got the chorizo hash and would definitely recommend it, although I do wish there was slightly more chorizo in it to balance out the sweetness of the plantains. I came here for the second time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the food. Their sides are sooo delish and I loved the fish I got for an entree. For an app we got the calamari but it was legit like eating little tiny raw octopuses because they didn't fry it so it was chewy and rubbery in my opinion. I wasn't such a fan. But I get the concept they're going for with the unique take on normal calamari & I can appreciate that. On the flip side the sauce it came in made up for it and was awesome. The service was pretty good and as usual I always love the ambiance that this place has to offer. Very cool new Mexican vibe within the decor selections. We came on a Saturday night (they were busy) and were pleased to be seated immediately! Price range is a little higher but with an upper scale mexican restaurant, I'd say that's to be expected. They do have some reasonably priced dishes though. I had the margarita and my date had the sangria both of which were very tasty in my opinion. I think I liked the marg a little better but then again I'm 100% a margarita girl. Delicia is just one of many great restaurants in SoBro. Tucked away in a non exciting former video center store, you will find some of the best food in the city. All with a Caribbean themed you will find seafood and meat dishes. They start you off with a small cup of soup, which is packed full of flavor. Make sure you get an appetizer. Whether it be the guac, the ceviche, or the massive queso, you cannot go wrong. There isn't a bad item on the menu. I believe the menu rotates in new dishes based on the season. But ng I could be wrong. The seafood stew is by far my favorite. It is packed with fish, mussels, scallops, and more. The flavor is incredible and you'll defintly need a to go box. The service is always spectacular with food coming fast and your server being incredibly attentive. They also give you a bottle to continue to pour your own water which is a plus. I understand not seating until everyone arrives, but it seems extreme that you can't get a place in line while waiting. The Service once we got inside was good. The server was diligent. Though if you like things hot, ask for the hot sauce when you order. They serve salsa instead of bottles so it takes a little while. The Fook & Drinks I ended up with the Moqueca - it's a shrimp coconut stew & was perfect for the rainy & cold night we went. I wish there had been a tad more flavor but it was still very yummy. My friend ordered the tamale crab cakes and was raving about them throughout the meal. We also ordered the chips & guac as an appetizer which was very tasty & a generous proportion (the peanut salsa was to die for !!) The Service I loved our waitress! I honestly wish I remembered her name, Anyway, she was super helpful with helping us navigate the menu (I am the most indecisive ) and kept checking in on us throughout the meal. I definitely will head back soon, perhaps this time to hit up their brunch ! They also have their own parking lot which is a huge plus in BR, since that can sometimes get a little tricky!!! read more
