My GF and I dined at Delicia with another couple who had been once before and spoke very highly of their previous experience. The inside has an elegant yet casual feel, with dim lightening. They have a large bar, with several high top tables in the bar area. On the other side of the restaurant, they have more traditional tables, including a few large round booths for bigger parties. The menu is straightforward. A handful of appetizers, variety of entrees and two dessert options. This is not the place to come if you are looking to eat for cheap as most entrees are in the $25-30 range. We started off with the 'queso fundido con chorizo' appetizer for the table. When we placed this order, our waitress asked if we also wanted a side of guac and salsa to come out with the queso suggesting "it's what most people do". We assumed this meant just a small bowl of each to have in addition to the chips that would come with the queso, or even perhaps just complimentary as that is sometimes the norm at many Mexican restaurants. The four of us looked at each other and kind of all gave the "why not?" grin, so we then spoke up and said that would be fine. Come to find out, by suggesting we add on salsa and guac, the waitress was effectively ordering our table two more regular sized appetizers which we discovered when they were brought out. The queso was by far the best tasting appetizer. It was unique from other quesos as the cheese had a thicker texture and you essentially had to use each chip to cut out a bite of the cheese. The only downside to that was the chips had a tendency to break off in the queso -- thus I started using two chips at a time to add some reinforcements. We also had fun trying the three different salsas. Although after having a cocktail as well as casually picking at all three of the appetizers, we were all pretty full by the time we had to place our entrees. However, we persevered and each ordered our own plate. I ordered the enchiladas de pato, a duck based enchilada dish topped with habanero cream sauce and chihauhau cheese with a side of black beans and green rice. It was very tasty and I enjoyed the sauce. Unfortunately though, I was so full from the appetizers I was only able to eat a few bites before having to throw in the towel. Overall, we had a good time at Delicia but not going to lie we left feeling a little duped by our waitress slyly suggesting we add on two more full sized appetizers. Obviously, we could have done a better job pacing ourselves and saving room for the main entrees but that is easier said than done when the food's on the table and we're engrossed in conversations. And unfortunately since we were not going home after dinner, we were unable to take the rest to-go. Oh well, lesson learned -- if I come back, I would not order an appetizer so I can fully enjoy the main meal! read more

Honestly impressed & pleasantly surprised! Never even heard of it, but found out it's apart of the same restaurant group as northside kitchen and kitchenette and others that we know are winners! So starting off on a good foot! They really know spicy in a good way! I thought the salmon was absolutely fab, nashville hot jam and all kinds of other goodies!! Avocado rice! Cooked really well and flavors all complimented eachother really well! Empanadas we're good a little different! Baked instead of fried! I like the classics the way they are, so this was a nice place to try, but not something I would necessarily crave. If you like to put a twist in your go to homestyle meals, then this place is worth the try! I will say that the sweet corn biscuit that came with the chorizo and gravy was amazing. If I went back, I would order this. My cousin ordered the chorizo dish. I ended up ordering the cuban toast (aka French toast). I like my french toast to have a nice crust and still hold up well on the inside. For me, the inside was extremely mushy. I did love the flavoring. You could taste a hint of lemon and I'll definitely be using that in my next french toast dish. We also ordered drinks. No complaints here. The staff was able to point me to the tiki drink, which is sweet like I requested. Another very good dish were the breakfast potatoes. Delicia lives up to the name! Went in for a Wednesday evening with some girlfriends. We had reservations (so yes they take reservations which is awesome!!) and was seated immediately. We got a booth near the front which was perfect as we got to see and hear each other well. We grabbed drinks and appetizers. I got the margarita which was so tasteful! The other girls had positive reviews for their drinks. We then ordered appetizers - guacamole, queso and taquitos. All were perfect to share and great portion sizes. We then shared entrees - chicken, empanadas and seafood mix. All great! The seafood fishers were to die for though - even in Indianapolis which we are landlocked. We came here while devour was still happening for their 3 course meal for $30. We really were excited to try their cuisine which is a mix of Spanish, Caribbean and Latina. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and he let us know everything is homemade in house. They also have a craft cocktail menu with a fire and ice drink that was delicious that had jalapeño ice. We tried the croquettes which were fried cheese and chorizo simply just delicious. She had a beautiful pulprinda drink made with Mango purée and other ingredients but the fun begins with a tajin rim (I tasted the rim and it is so fun with a mix of salt, tamarind and a bit of spice). Love the color. Their guacamole is one of the best-chips are good too! This time I had the street tacos with refried beans. I would probably not get this dish again as it's a bit heavy on the grease for me which made the soft shells pretty greasy. They do have a very good flavor so I ate the filling and left the shells. My friend had the plaintains and she really enjoyed them with the Mofongo meal. Service is quite good, love the decor and ambiance. Good is notably good. Tonight we had 2 takeout orders of Enchiladas de Pato and an order of Guacamole. I sincerely wish I had a better photo as it doesn't do the food justice. Each serving had three enchiladas with a duck filling as well as green rice and black beans on the side. We ordered the food as takeaway. It was surprisingly good! When I visit Indianapolis I haven't had much luck with takeout. This restaurant is the exception. The Enchiladas were tender, a great level of seasoning and really appealing. The queso had lots of flavor, but be sure to eat it quick as it hardens quickly. The seafood on the shrimp was perfect! The guac portion could have been larger, but was tasty. I chose the cazuela de mariscos and it was sooo good. Perfect amount of heat and enough to take home half of it. One of my friends chose the short ribs. She mentioned they were very tender and fire! The drinks were strong, but not over the top. For dessert, we tried the seasonal sorbet. This time was blueberry, which they added granola crumbles. It taste like a blueberry pie. This will be my first ever 5-star review, and Delicia totally deserves it. If you are looking for a flavor explosion and personal service, Delicia will deliver. Delicia has a classy casual feel - not too fancy, but not cheap either. We loved the overall ambiance. Stacy was our server and an absolute delight. She knew the dishes inside and out and shared a lot of history with us. The quest fundido was delicious, served in a piping hot cast iron pan. The ceviche was different than the traditional ceviche but was fresh and exploding with flavors. The curried coconut mahi was one of the most delicious restaurant meals I have ever tasted. I had been wanting to come here forever. I was excited to see online they had a parking lot because I hate parallel parking. Good luck finding a spot. The front lot holds about 12 cars and a big sign points to additional parking in the rear. It's a one lane alley to a very tiny lot so don't get stuck or get into an accident trying to get back out when there are no spaces available! I wound up parallel parking about two blocks down on College. The interior is boho and we got a booth. The food was very good and the cocktails were tasty and unique. We tried several dishes. The queso fundido was my favorite appetizer but the chips and salsa and the ceviche were good. My salmon was good and the brussel hash was yummy. Not huge for 27 but a pretty presentation. We made a reservation and rightfully so because it was packed on a week night. We started with Ceviche and the octopus tostones. The ceviche was flavored well and came with fried plantain chips. The star of the show was the octopus. It was cooked PERFECTLY. I didn't even want to share with my husband once I had my first bite. If nothing else, I will be back for 18 orders of this.
