    Caprese

The Capri (Caprese) sandwich at Delizie Romane in Pasadena is an absolute masterpiece. The star of the sandwich is their house-baked focaccia bread, which has a perfectly crunchy exterior and a remarkably light, soft texture inside. Every single ingredient bursts with freshness, from the thick slices of mozzarella and juicy tomatoes to the vibrant, fragrant house-made pesto spread. This authentic, family-run Italian gem clearly uses top-tier, quality ingredients that elevate a simple Caprese into the best lunch you can find in the area. Not to mention the cute art on the windows will draw you in just out of curiosity.

I enjoy this place. I'm pretty sure that it's a family run business with dad and mom and sometimes daughter working. I really enjoy the lasagna and penne with meat sauce. They give you some homemade bread before you get the main meal. Very small place so if you have a relatively large party, you may want to call ahead.

Cute Italian shop in Pasadena (I believe they recently opened)! Went in for tiramisu and was not disappointed! They sell the tiramisu by the slices and it's around average price point. Aside from desserts, they also have appetizers, pasta, sandwich, and pastries! Would love to come back and try more menu items!

I have one word for you: Nutella. As an official Nutella addict, I have never met any Nutella-filled item that I don't love. That being said, this family owned business had aa few Fab items to fuel my Nutella habit. I purchased every item with Nutella in the shop to get a feel for their offerings. This included a pretty tarte with Nutella center, a Bomballoni which, was freshly filled with Nutella at time of order, and cookies that can almost be described as a Nutella Oreo. This cute shop also sells savory offerings, but all of their Italian pastries are made fresh in-house. I will be a regular visitor here for sure! Update: I added some pictures of the inside and outside of this super cute restaurant. As much as I love Nutella, their Limoncello cake is to die for! Not only pretty to look at, the texture is heaven in your mouth. Creamy with perfect flavor & texture. And shout out to Jessica for being friendly, awesome and as sweet as the desserts she makes!

    2g2g $18 value fail. dry & old

I'm satisfied ..2G2G issued a refund and acknowledged that what I received was below the advertised value. Also, I want to retract my earlier comment about their pastries being comparable to Costco's. Costco has fresh croissants & pastries that are definitely superior--theirs not so much! The pastries I received were dry, old and hard. If they were good, my rating would have changed. Of course, this is just my personal experience and taste. I honestly wish I can give them a better review. But being unorganized is a pet peeve of mine and not taking accountability or apologizing only blaming 2g2g. A restaurant has cancelled my order before if they didn't have enough food, wish they would've too, so I didn't have to drive in traffic. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they are still new. Honestly there were pasties still in the case, they could have made it right. So if they are saying their pastries are made fresh day of, I beg to differ, those are def getting sold the next day! False advertisement! I definitely didn't get $18 worth of baked goods! For anyone interested in their 2g2g orders, just don't, just know they over sell on that app. They had to split my order with another person. Because they only had enough for one order. I got THREE croissants!! 3! While the other person got croissants and tiramisu. I would've bought other items but was irked. They should just give their last pastries free to their last customer. FYI their pastries are comparable to Costco. I wish them luck but please remove yourself from 2g2g!

I have been wanting to try Delizie Romane since it opened and finally got around to visiting. First of all, it's family owned and operated and the whole family is just the sweetest, customer-oriented folks I've encountered in the restaurant space as long as I can remember. They fresh bake and prepare all the menu items daily, and as I came in towards the end of the day, a few of the baked items were out of stock. But I'm thankful for the few items I got to take away and try. It felt like I was picking up food from my mama's kitchen... they were very generous with portions. Full disclosure - They threw in a couple of extra muffins and cheesecake as these would've otherwise gone to waste. They didn't have to do that, but I appreciate the generosity and acknowledging that the food isn't getting tossed. (It wasn't expired. They just like to serve food freshly made the day-of.) As for what I tried, - The marittozzi (a brioche filled with cream) were airy and light, delicious. They're also huge. - The pizzette tasted very fresh as well, with really aromatic focaccia with roesmary and just the right amount of tomato topping. I warmed them up in the oven for a few minutes, which helped revive them a bit (and now my whole place smells like rosemary hahaha). I bet if you came around lunchtime when they were just baked, they'd be served hot. - The italian cheesecake with mascarpone and a light berry jam topping was wonderful. It's not like the traditional tall, overwhelming cheesecake, but along with a cup of tea it really hit the spot for dessert. The perfect portion size. - I haven't tried the chocolate chip muffins yet but they look delicious. Next time I'd like to come try the cannoli with a cup of Italian caffe latte. And get a puppaccino for my dog :) Thank you Jessica for helping me bring the food to my car when you noticed I had my hands full with the dog leash. And thank you to your parents for the extra muffins and cheesecake!!!

Less than a half mile from my house!!! A real Italian bakery!! Since we lost Federico's, there's been no where to find this amazingness. We walked over for dinner and had pinsas (pizza on focaccia-style crusts) and paninis. They were made fresh to order and were absolutely delicious. We would have loved to have dessert but we got there a half hour before they closed and they were practically sold out of all pastries. Plus, we were full!! Next time, according to the gracious owners, we must try their house-made gelatos. There will be a next time, for sure. Don't mind the interior--some cute wall decor--but patio style furniture mostly. It doesn't take away from the flavor and the hospitality

Fast forward to last weekend, we had to be in Pasadena for an errand and finally decided it was time to try it for dinner. I'm so glad we did because this place was SO good! The menu is a little more diverse than a traditional Greek menu, which honestly made it even harder to choose because there were so many amazing options. We ended up ordering the grilled octopus, mussels, chicken kebab, and sea bass, and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors and textures were just wonderful, and I would genuinely recommend every one of these dishes. The mussels were actually a last-minute decision and ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night, if not my favorite. The broth was seriously incredible, and the bread that comes with it was the perfect pairing. I usually don't love dense bread, but because this bread sits in the broth and soaks it all up without completely falling apart, every bite was perfection. It could sit in that broth for 30 minutes and still hold together, and honestly, I could have eaten that entire bowl just for the broth and bread! The ambiance is also wonderful. We sat outside on the rooftop on a beautiful summer evening, which made the whole experience even better. Service was excellent too. We didn't have a reservation, it was a Saturday night, and they were able to get us seated within about 30 minutes. I genuinely cannot wait to come back. The only problem is that I want to try everything else on the menu, but I also want to order all the same things again because they were that good! I was already thinking about how much my family would love this place when they come visit. If you haven't tried Café Santorini yet, you're missing out!

I thought that was a bit odd, but I guess it was to detract from unwelcomed guests (i.e. homless people)? Anyhow, we were seated right away and sat by the window which was nice! We were given the menus, but I had to specifically ask for the DineLA menu which I also thought was a bit odd since it seemed like they wanted us to order off their regular menu. Perhaps this was just an oversight. For starters, we ordered 1 of each that was offered: Ceviche Carretillero - Refreshing and brought me back to time spent in Peru! I preferred this option Salpicon - This was also refreshing and reminded me of chicken salad mix in a bowl though not sure I would order it without it being a part of a prix fixe. For the main course, we ordered: Saltado Salad - This had minimal protein and was not so satisfying when compared to a traditional lomo saltado, but the protein that was there was yummy. Aji Gallina - I really was excited to see this on their menu since I love this dish so much and don't see it offered too often at Peruvian restaurants. Though the sauce was good, the chicken was VERY dry and hard to chew (overcooked) so it took a while to finish this. In lieu of desserts, they offered Maracuya (passion fruit) and Chicha Morada (purple corn) juices which were yummy but the star of the show was their sangria which was delicious especially on a hot day. My only complaint about the sangria was that we were charged for 3 carafes when we only got 2. Once we identified this, we brought it up and just went ahead and enjoyed the 3rd one since we had already settled the bill. That being said, always double check your receipt!
