Came here for the very first time during restaurant week. $60 for 3 courses had a lot of people attending as the restaurant was packed at 5:30pm. Didn't realise how big the restaurant was - we were seated in a back room behind the bar - had a nice ambience to it. The restaurant week menu offered a variety of options. I opted to pay $10 supplement and went for the Maine crab cake. No regrets there at all. It was so good. One of the best crab cakes I've had. For appz, we all ordered the steak which came with a brocolli and some mash. It was delicious, a bit on the undercooked side but otherwise good. My only complaint here is the portion sizes differ between three people attending. No consistency. My husband got the rib eye for $35 extra. He got it medium rare and it came rare. The waiter was apologetic and took it back. Desserts were great - got another up charge for the baked Alaska. Worth it to see the theatrics. All in all it was a good experience. I would recommend paying in cash if possible as it was an extra $20 on a $500 something meal to put it on credit card.
I like eggs benedict. So naturally, I had to try the restaurant where it was invented! I even brushed up on YouTube to see how it's made here! We started off sharing the crab cake. Oh my! It's quite possibly the best crab cake I've ever had. No filler, just a ton of sweet, succulent crab encased in a fried potato string pouch. I ordered the eggs benedict, of course. That bernaise sauce is just...wow! It's what really sets their eggs Benedict apart from everyone else's. I also liked the brioche versus the English muffin. I do wish they offered a half order because it is very rich, and also I'd also like to have room to try other items on the menu. The fiancé got the steak frites. Cooked a perfect medium rare, the steak had a good "beef" flavor. They really seasoned it minimally to allow the natural flavors to shine through. Another Delmonico's invention: we couldn't leave without the baked Alaska. Very banana forward and more on the sweeter side than we usually like. Glad we tried it, but wouldn't crave that one in the future. My boo literally had a two martini lunch: the first, an Olive martini, the second, a Delmonico's martini. He found the "Delmonico's" online and when he ordered it they brought him out a second Olive martini. When we inquired about it, the "Delmonico's" is an old recipe that was swapped out a few years ago (gin and vermouth), so be specific if that's what you're after! The service was very good here. The only "Ick" was there was a dead fly on our plate when we were first seated. I told one of the staff and they changed it right away. Delmonico's is America's first fine dining restaurant. Over 150 years strong! I think they know a thing or two about great food and excellent service.
The service was really good, I had a great waiter who was knowledgeable about wine pairings to your meal. For an appetizer, I got the caramelized bacon, which was really delicious. For my entrée, I got the signature Delmonico Ribeye and it was really bad. The cut of meat I had I believe bad - super chewy, medium but was a tough cut, fatty. Just overall a pretty bad experience for their "signature" cut of meat. And for my dessert, I had the chocolate symphony - not really a huge fan of dessert but it was about a 6. Overall pretty overpriced for a seemingly mediocre steak experience. I'm truly disappointed. Also one last mention other patrons and I were swatting gnats the WHOLE dinner experience. Not cool.
Great spot- we sat at the bar and the food was magnifique! Perfect for later NY dinner vibes. Recommend making a reservation- we went on a Tuesday and it was packed!
We were excited to try Delmonico's because it's supposed to be the birthplace of fine dining. Even though we made a reservation, we had to wait a bit while they figured out a table for us. The ambiance of the place was pretty cool -- we were in the lower level so there were no windows, but the wallpaper was filled with printed signatures of famous people. We came here for restaurant week but we upgraded the entree to the Wagyu New York strip (+$40) and the signature delmonico ribeye (+$35). I really liked the signature delmonico ribeye, but there was a huge section of just fat. It was probably 1/4 of the piece of meat they gave me. We also got a side of potatoes, which was an extra cost because our 2 entrees did not come with any sides. The potatoes were very interesting - it was layered but also felt like 2 big blocks of potato, kind of like 2 gigantic pieces of French fries. Overall, the servers were really friendly and helped us pack our leftovers really nicely. We were also celebrating a birthday and got a candle with ice cream to celebrate (on top of our restaurant week dessert).
Came here on our Anniversary to celebrate and it was a wonderful time. The experience was beautiful. The staff were amazing. Maria our waitress was wonderful and the hostess in the front was very kind as well. The food was delicious and I really loved the dessert. Best I have ever eating to be honest. We will definitely be going back. Came here a long time ago and everything is still the same.
During our time in NYC, we had an amazing dinner at Delmonico's. We started off with drinks, then shared a salad and had filets. The filet was probably the best I've had, very tender and juicy! I'm so glad we were able to dine in this iconic establishment. If you're in NYC, don't miss out on a lovely dinner at Delmonico's.
5 star service. It's the oldest steak house in NYC. (Also fun fact they did some filming for John wick here) Dimly lit speak easy vibes in the bar area, which we loved. The Delmonico Eye is a solid choice, as well as the filet. Caesar salad is easily the BEST Caesar I've ever had, and I've probably had over 1,000 in my lifetime. The crab cake is out of this world. Kevin was our server, he was a delight. This will be a new frequent spot for us.
14 years later and I've come back for a restaurant week deal. I paid $35 14 years ago and inflation now brings us to $60 for a dinner menu. Still completely worth it. I've upped the rating to 5 stars 14 years later and now have photos to show for it. As someone who has gestation diabetes and is slightly anemic this restaurant week menu was perfect for me. The appetizer was a caramelized bacon but I asked for it to have no caramelization. It came out 5 minutes later and was substantial and tasty even without the caramelization. My partner had the Maine crab cake for an additional supplement of $10. He said that was the most crab he's ever seen in a crab cake. Needless to say he enjoyed it. The entree I had the New York strip steak with Pomme Purée, Broccolini, Sauce Verte. I asked for it well done as that's my current situation and it probably came out slightly under well done. I ate it nonetheless, and no issues a few days later. I started with the steak and then the broccolini and dabbled a bit with the pomme puree (limiting myself because of GD). The steak was absolutely divine with the sauce verte. The only con was I wish I had more sauce! The broccolini was also nicely done - no bitterness and the perfect crunch. The pomme purée was just wow. I was only able to have a few bites but this was the most flavorful mashed potato I've ever had. You cannot go wrong with this dish, especially with no additional surcharge. My partner had the wagyu, but it didn't look as appealing as mine. It only came out as a steak with no sides. He said he enjoyed it though. He had to then separately order a side of broccolini and that was good in the restaurant but not microwaved a few days later. The dessert we had the cheesecake and chocolate mousse. The cheesecake was for me and was the more practical option for someone with GD. I allowed myself one bite and packed the rest for home. It was so very satisfying. The berries and the cake were perfect. I pricked my finger an hour later and since my levels were optimal, I allowed myself another 3 bites when I got home. The mousse seemed good as well. Overall, my levels stayed well below 140 and I was so very satisfied with this meal. The service was also excellent. We had the sweetest server who was very accommodating.
Great steakhouse. We started in the bar with a few cocktails. Bar service was great. Our bartender answered a few questions and even gave us some dinner recommendations. We ordered crab cakes, Cesar salad, and steak tartare for our appetizer. The crab cakes were more crab than cake. It was very crabby and delicious. The tartare was also very good. Although there was more potato than steak pieces, it was still very tasty. The Cesar salad was very good as well. Whole leaf baby Romain lightly tossed and with whole pickled anchovies. Yum. For our entrees, we ordered the porterhouse for 2, pea risotto, filet mignon, Brussels sprouts, and pomme purée. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our meat temperature was perfect. Porterhouse was served on a sizzling plate and was also pre sliced for us to share. The filet mignon was also pre sliced. We ordered the baked Alaska for dessert. The banana in that really shined and was very tasty. Typical classic steakhouse in an intimate setting. Highly recommend.
From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, and we were seated right away. Spacious seating and well lit for lunch time. Our server, Kevin, was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. We started with the crab cake. Crab cakes can be hit or miss, but this one was a hit. The crab wasn't overpowering, and the seasoning on the crispy outside was just right. I ordered the sirloin, and my husband had the ribeye. Both steaks had a perfect sear, were seasoned really well, and were incredibly tender. The mashed potatoes were just as good. For dessert, we couldn't pass up the Baked Alaska. The banana sorbet inside was such a nice surprise, and the sweetness paired perfectly with the toasted meringue. My husband also ordered the Chocolate Symphony, and if you're a chocolate lover, this dessert is for you. Such a great experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back--and next time, I'm trying the famous Delmonico burger!
YES!! you should make a reservation if for no other reason than because there is important, fine dining restaurant history right here, inside (& outside) Delmonico's, located on Beaver Street in downtown Manhattan, Steps from famous Wall Street. Steps from the famous huge bull sculpture on Wall Street. I mentioned the historical outside because I read in an article somewhere that when the restaurant first opened, people would rub the pillars that are outside by the entrance for good luck. Started in 1837, Delmonico's has a storied history and you are able to see some of it on display inside the restaurant. Photos and memorabilia from the early, early days. And for that reason alone, you should dine here. Mark Twain celebrated his 70th birthday here and you can see artwork on the wall depicting that. Delmonico's created several very famous, beloved dishes ...For example, the dessert called baked Alaska. And other dishes you may be familiar with. Please, See their website. By the way, 1837 is the same year that Tiffany & Co started. What a time!! Can you imagine!? I enjoyed WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK 2026!! I had lunch on my first visit to Delmonico's. I ordered the Maine Crab Cake (+$10) Mmm, I enjoyed this dish, see my photos. It is an artful dish. A Maine crab cake enrobed in yummy, crispy, shredded potatoes. Mmm!! What's not to like!?!?!!! LOL My entree was Filet Mignon. Loved the accompanying whipped potatoes. (See photo) . I'd rate this filet mignon itself 4 stars, only because it was not as soft as I'm used to when I order filet mignon. I was looking forward to that yummy, almost melt-in-your-mouth-softness, but, alas it was not there. I was surprised (and disappointed). It was good, not spectacular. It was deliciously seasoned. My 3rd course, THE FAMOUS DELMONICO'S BAKED ALASKA (+$10). A MUST!!! See my video!! On a very cold winter's day, I appreciated the warm welcome when I entered the restaurant and that was thanks to the two women at the Hostess station. When I left, no one said anything. Nothing at all. (Almost comical, but not). And there was plenty of restaurant, staff and management by the door. A missed opportunity, to be sure. Ideally, you want your patron to leave on an up note level and the goodbye is part two of the welcome. Toward the end of my late lunch, I saw the next shift of servers (upcoming dinner time) arranging beautiful place settings on tables and sometimes adding a chair or two to a large round table. I was very impressed with the care that I saw from each of those servers setting those tables and arranging things on the table. It was obvious the staff I was watching cared deeply about having things just right, perfect. Seeing this reminded me of the fine dining establishments I've had the pleasure of visiting. Kudos to that evening staff caring about setting those tables just right. That was great to see. I loved where I was seated in a beautiful blue cozy booth type table. Apparently there was going to be a shift change... so my first server was very attentive and I appreciated that very much; he was professional and kind. I missed him when I experienced the second server; although he walked by my table several times he was initially not attentive. In any business, There is usually room for improvement. I would respectfully suggest that Delmonico's reminds servers when they're walking by a table to keep their eyes open all around, not just in one direction because at least twice the second server walked by my table, looking away from my table with his back toward my table, never turned his head to see if I needed anything and of course I did so it was frustrating to have him walk by twice. I was not going to call out, simply because that would have ruined my restaurant experience. Delmonico's is beautiful inside and I wanted to keep that ambience and that's why I did not say excuse me hello ... I just figured eventually my server would walk by and look at my table and eventually he did, and I took that opportunity to have a respectful chat with this server so that he was aware that twice he had walked by my table and not even looked in my direction. He was respectful and he heard what I had to say and the next time he walked by what do you think happened? He looked at my table, smiled, I smiled, too, and that's when I ordered my pot of tea which I enjoyed. From then on, things were fine. See my photos. As part of Delmonico's history, you will see photos on the walls. I enjoyed this. If Delmonico's gave a tour of the restaurant I'd sign up for that. But I can tell you there is a bar area that's lovely , and the nearby, single person restroom was lovely and clean. I believe There are some private dining rooms, too. Make a reservation! You can take the 4 or 5 train to the Wall Street stop, then walk toward the famous Wall Street Bull sculpture, and turn onto BEAVER STREET, and you are steps from Delmonico's.
I went to delmonicos for restaurant week, and they had a really great deal. For $60 each we got an app, main, and dessert. There is an upcharge for certain specialty items but overall it's much more affordable than coming outside of restaurant week. The place is a historic institution with great service and a lot of seating. For drinks, we got the lychee martini and a purple gin drink. I don't remember the name and can't find it on the website but the purple one was my favorite. For apps, we tried the Caesar salad and the thick cut bacon. The bacon is a must have, delmonicos does it so well. The Caesar salad has small roe mixed through it so if you don't like seafood maybe skip that one! For mains, the restaurant week menu had their filet mignon and then the ribeye was available for $33 extra. The ribeye is their specialty so we tried it, but personally I liked the filet more! It had a great sauce on it. Both steaks were perfectly done. For dessert we had chocolate cake and cheesecake. Both were great but I especially liked the cheesecake. Overall, everything was so well done. Great place for a special occasion

I went to the steakhouse thinking that it was one of the best steakhouses in New York City. We went for lunch. The wedge salad was underwhelming and only had a few toppings on it. I asked for two side dressings and only one came. I asked for filet mignon as a salad add on, and they forgot to bring it. My party was finished eating by the time I started my meal. The error might not have been hers. It might have been the kitchen's error. The hamburger was mediocre. Also, the french rosé that I initially ordered was old wine and was horrible. The waitress was very nice and did comp me a glass of wine. The Chardonnay was nice. The ambience was good. I will not be back. read more
During this year's NYC Winter Restaurant Week, my friend and I dined in the classic and historic Delmonico's Steakhouse. This is my first time back since COVID and their reopening. We stayed in a low key popping bar downstairs the restaurant. Service was great despite circumstances getting there on time for our reservation. We started off with the sake and an espresso martini. For our appetizers, we had the Yellowtail crudo and the burrata. For our entrees, we both got the steaks and shared the mashed potatoes. Finally, for dessert, we got the chocolate cake and cheesecake. Everything hit the spot. Delmonico's will be participating in the upcoming summer restaurant week starting Monday. read more
We came for restaurant week which was 3 course for $60 and +$29 for the ribeye. For starters, we got the bacon and crudo. The bacon was brushed with foie gras and was really tender. I was worried it might be too sweet, but luckily it wasn't. The yellowtail crudo was refreshing. The ribeye had a nice crust and was perfectly salted. The salmon was cooked nicely to medium rare. The sauce on the salmon was a bit too mild. For desserts, we got the cheesecake which was infused with some orange essence making it tastes like a creamsicle.The sorbet was straightforward and tasted like how I expected. The food came out really quick. It took 35 minutes to get all of the courses to the table. I didn't mind since I didn't want to lounge around. read more

My friend wanted to go to a more intimate and fancier spot for dinner. So when we saw this spot is doing a restaurant week deal we had to go check it out. The place is dimly lit and spacious spot. They have 2 dining rooms and a bar in the middle. It's definitely a great date spot. Their food is definitely on the pricier end and it is worth it! I was so happy with my 3 courses! Although, I would pass on the sides. Also, fyi they have 2 entrances, one leads to the main restaurant and one to the bar. If possible try to use the main entrance, it definitely looks nicer. (I made the mistake of only using the entrance that leads to the bar) Appetizer: Caramelized Bacon -Tonic 01 Fole Maple Syrup Yellowtail Crudo - Avocado, Walnut, Crispy Pearls, Seasoned Shoyu, Shiso Entrée: Eye of Delmonico - 5oz, Brandt Family Farms, CA Sides: (Extra $18 each) Hash browns Asparagus - (wished it was a little seasoned) Dessert: Cheesecake (omg this cheesecake was so soft. One of the country's oldest steakhouses, its famous for a reason. It has delicious steak (invented the NY strip cut) and tasty burgers. But we had to try the famous baked Alaska dessert, which they may or may not have invented. The service is great, very white glove, and they are prompt with refilling your water. High marks all around, although it does get packed with locals and tourists. read more
Delmonico's has become the obligatory Birthday dinner spot. The food always delivers. Although this time around my steak was a bit colder than it should in the middle. The Cesar salad and yellowtail crudo were on point. My cocktails were nicely made, strong and hitting the spot. Service was warm and attentive. Ambiance is classy and lively as usual. There was a bit of a wait, but I didn't mind- warm up to a drink at the bar first anyways. Overall, always a wonderful time. read more

The interior is lovely. The bar lounge area is beautiful and great for a more casual lunch. The bread and butter was delicious. The butter was extremely soft, smooth, and light; it had a hint of sweetness. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The thinner and smaller fries were only crispy and great. The prime rib sandwich was amazing. The bread looked more well done than I expected/would have wanted, but it did not taste it. The caramelized onions and jus were delicious. I would have liked a touch less onions and more cheese. The glass of wine I had was great, but there was a significant amount of debris in it; I know it's natural, but it's still visually offputting. The baked Alaska was ok; it was pretty hard and difficult to eat. Also, one side wasn't toasted. The staff were very friendly. read more

I came here for Restaurant Week and it absolutely lived up to the name. The three course prix fixe was solid on its own but I gladly paid the upcharge for the signature ribeye and it was worth it. I started with their bacon which was outstanding. Thick cut, perfectly cooked, rich and indulgent without being greasy. The main event was the 18oz ribeye. When it came out, I honestly thought it was bone in because of the size, but it was not. Huge portion, beautifully cooked, and exactly what you expect from a classic steakhouse that knows what it is doing. Flavor was on point and the steak easily stole the show. Dessert was a classic cheesecake. Simple, creamy, and well executed, which felt like the right way to end such a hearty meal. On top of the food, the decor is stunning. Classic, and elegant without feeling stuffy. You really feel the history the moment you walk in. Delmonico's delivers exactly what you want from a legendary New York steakhouse especially during Restaurant Week when it feels like an incredible value. read more

Sooooo good! We came on a total whim (and it was not the best since I was dressed in sweats and a baseball hat) but we still took the lunch res and showed up. They were kind enough to seat us but asked if I'd remove my cap. Totally fine! Anyway, we got 2 salads and wasn't a fan of either. The Delmonico's steak though was GREAT. We got two sides. I think mushrooms and some other veggie. Both had an Asian flair which kind of threw me. Didn't seem to pair with the standard steakhouse steak. So 5 stars for the steak, and maybe 3 for the salad and sides. They gave us a complimentary dessert bc we just got engaged. So it was great, but next time I'll just get extra steak, and some standard sides like mashed potatoes and spinach and forget the other sides. read more
Had an excellent evening here recently - with just one unpleasant snag. Otherwise it measures up to its reputation as one of the premier fine dining establishments in the city. The service is top-tier - you're quickly seated, quickly served, and regularly checked on by friendly staff who're also able to make suggestions on wine pairings, meal options to suit your tastes, etc. The menu is refreshingly straightforward - for Dinner service they have about half a dozen options overall for each of their courses, a little something for everyone but not overwhelmingly complex at all. The food is, predictably, quite good - I had a very good steak as my main (the signature Delmonico ribeye), and also really enjoyed our dessert (pictured here). Top notch quality ingredients and chefs at work, no doubt. The price tag is just as predictably high - one doesn't dine at a place like this every night of the week unless they're an exceedingly "affluent" kinda person (i.e. rich as Croesus). To give you an idea - we ordered one appetizer, two mains (with one side), one dessert, and about 4-5 drinks (3 glasses of wine, one of champagne, and a nice port), and spent over $450 with tip. Not that this is an issue or anything - it just means that coming here is a treat for most. The only blemish on an otherwise pleasant dinner was that despite being explicitly told the opposite while making our reservation, they do not accept Amex gift cards or anything along those lines. That said, it's still a staple of NYC fine dining and has great staff on hand - and their food is quite good. May not have been the literal best steak I've ever had in New York, but it was certainly satisfying. Roughly on par with Gallagher's. Will be curious to try out Keens and other famous steakhouses to compare this to. read more
The original fine dining restaurant of NYC did not disappoint! The ambiance is warm, the service is excellent, the food is delicious. The 18oz Delmonico's Ribeye steak is so satisfying in both portion and taste. The caramelized bacon melts in your mouth. The Baked Alaska flambé is a treat to behold. So glad I finally checked this wonderful history infused restaurant off my bucket list! read more
We checked this place out for dinner recently and really enjoyed it. The building is really cool, with a lot of history. Definitely worth reading up on, especially all of the dishes that allegedly started at Delmonico's. We had a cozy little two-top table in a smaller dining past the main bar. Our server was friendly but overall, our service was pretty slow. We both enjoyed our glasses of wine and the yellowtail crudo appetizer. The complimentary sourdough and corn bread had good flavor, especially with the butter with Hawaiian salt. My wife ordered the 10oz filet and I ordered the 12oz Delmonico eye. Both were cooked perfectly. The Delmonico potatoes were excellent. It took a little while to get the check, so while we waited for it, my wife went to the coat check to get our coats. As I was getting up to leave, the server brought us a scoop of ice cream with a chocolate that read "Happy Anniversary." That was a nice touch even though we were already leaving. We would definitely check this place out again to try more menu items. read more

For my first time at Delmonico's, this was a memorable dining experience. From the incredible dining room ambiance, excellent table service and quality of the food no one should ever say that NYC Fine Dining is dead. Far from it here, it was a silver service table experience on a busy , busy Fathers Day dinner service, The host ( with the red dress) was calm admist a busy front of house and we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation! My son and I shared the 22oz Rib Eye Bone in , one order of fries while my wife had the shrimp cocktail and order of Brussel sprouts! Everything was excellent even the bread and delicious soft spread butter ! The steak was perfectly cooked and was more than enough for us to have a satisfying meal! For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse and ice cream which was a perfect way to end the night. For sure, I will be back and look forward to having an excellent experience! read more

The mashed potato's melt in your mouth. The huge hash brown reminded me of a laka. We didn't eat the creamed spinach, it tasted like grass and didn't look like the photos online. The filet, medium well, was cooked to perfection! read more
We don't normally go to steakhouses, but when we got the opportunity to try one due to a chase promotion, we thought why not go with the oldest at DelMonico's. We made a reservation at 4:30pm on a Saturday and was seated right away. The restaurant was elegant with history. It was dimly lit and very spacious. The complimentary bread basket was great! The bread was warm when it arrived, and it stayed airy and fluffy the whole dinner despite how cold it was inside. Was tempted to bring it home in a to-go box. The tomato focaccia was my favorite. We ordered: Kumamoto Oysters ($28) -- The oysters were not the best I've had, but they were still good. The size ranged decently despite them being the same kind. Maine Crab Cake ($37) -- I'm always hesitant to order crab cakes because I never enjoy it, but the crab cakes were fantastic. This is how all crab cakes should be. It was 85% real crab meat, encased in perfectly fried potato strips, on top of tarragon dill tartar sauce. Signature Delmonico Ribeye ($86) -- The ribeye was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and had a nice crust, but I found it to be a little too salted. I enjoyed the caramelized onions on top and wish there were more. Despite sharing the 18oz steak amongst us two, we were stuffed. They do ask you dress smart casual, and you will feel quite out of place if you don't, as this is fine dining. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Service was fantastic. read more
We went for a birthday and they allowed us to be seated earlier even though our reservation was at 8:15pm on a Friday! They definitely have a few walk in tables available and we were seated downstairs. They gave us bread and butter to start and also can give you vinegar and olive oil if you ask! Bread is incredibly soft. Very upscale vibe if you may ask and most people were coming from work. We dressed a little more on the casual side and they allowed us in! We ordered a few things and each dish was exceptional and very memorable! For cocktails I tried the delmonico's martini and their Manhattan. While their cocktails aren't the best I had I thought they were pretty good. The Gypsy rose is great for sweet cocktail drinkers and my waiter preferably pointed me to the cocktails vs their full stacked wine menu so take that with what you will! We got the * Caesar salad which came out like a flower almost with the way the plating was presented- fantastic flavors and not so creamy. Very innovative way to serve this salad as it was mostly seasoning on pieces of lettuce perfectly done. * crab cake (1 individual mighty one) only 1 crab cake but the best crab cake I ever had in my life. The outside is crispy inside is full fresh crab. This is one of the best I ever had * creamed spinach - yum! So tasty * signature delmonico's steak : a must have because so juicy and tender and absolutely one of my favorite steaks I've had in the city. Way better than other steakhouses like gallagher's. I really loved this one. If you ask for steak sauce they will come with one, they just have extra on the menu if you wanted to try it with one of their other different sauces. * black miso cod - an amazing fish dish. It doesn't taste fishy at all and even is sweet and savory in the best way! The fish is so soft it melts in your mouth. * baked Alaska- amazing! I loved this as it's perfectly done and such a show stopper. They did forget to put happy birthday on it but I guess we need to remind someone for that if you care about that part but I think we loved the dessert we didn't really care! Coat check was free and we were super comfortable the whole time and service was impeccable. What an incredible and beautiful spot. This forerunner for ALL fine dining in America is a must while making one reservations within the isle of manhattan. The wedge salad was so well presented and the kind staff that accompanied it. So many kind people and everyone knew the menu inside and out. I recommend THE Delamonico's Burger (Medium Rare) while paired with a solid Syrah. I recommend ending the meal with one of this restaurants inventions. A Baked Alaska. Which was formerly known as a Hawaiian Alaskan due to the heated flambé exterior and frozen interior celebrating both climates of both at the time newly acquired states to the Union at the time. Delmonico's is also responsible for creating Chicken A La Keen, Lobster Newburg and Eggs Benedict. Also, a smart hack is to get the right-when-they-open 12noon Lunch Reservation, this way you an be in this beautiful dining room before its gets buys and honor all the art and decor throughout. We opted to by the cookbook signed by Max Tucci. Our magnificent hostess named Paradise was impeccable with her communication and Sonal our server was wonderful. Also the GM has one of the best tied ties in New York! Viva La Full Windsor Knot! Next time I would love to see the wine cellar if they will let me. This steakhouse lives up to it's reputation. The crab cake is very good, and we tried both the signature ribeye and the dry age ribeye. I personally prefer the signature with the wet aging process creating a tender and tasty meat. The service and vibes are as you'd expect from a high quality Manhattan steakhouse. read more

Delmonico's has been on my must try list for so long and it truly surpassed my expectations. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my parents. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The vibes are elegant, but not stuffy. It is such a classic NYC restaurant and they really bring the elegance. The experience was perfect from beginning to end. The green gatsby cocktail was fantastic. If you like a cucumber cocktail, you will love this! The bread basket was fantastic. The tomato focaccia was my fav. I got the yellowtail crudo for my appetizer. It was the best crudo I have ever had. It fully melted in my mouth and the crispy pearls on the outside added great texture. I would eat this every day if I could! For my entree, I had the fillet with peppercorn sauce. We also shared mushrooms, pommes puree, and brussel sprouts for our sides. The steak was next level! It had the perfect char and I loved the sauce. The sides were incredible as well! The potato puree was fantastic and the brussels were so unique and delicious. We were too full for dessert, but they brought me complimentary ice cream for my birthday. I got a chocolate martini which literally tasted like melted chocolate ice cream in the best way! Very cool location, you can feel the history when you walk in the front door. The drinks are well mixed and food is well prepared. Started with a few Great Gatsby cocktails which were light, refreshing and packed a punch. Continued with the prawn appetizer - so fresh and sweet. Along with the Caesar salad - individual leaf style with anchovies. And for dinner we shared the Delmonico's steak, asparagus and potatoes. For the price, I expected way more. It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a beautiful pink center, but the texture was a struggle--way too tough to chew. There were parts I just couldn't get through at all, and my jaw was sore by the end of the meal... My friend's steak was just as chewy... ~ Hand cut French fries $15 ~ [Rating: 4.5 / 5] Thankfully, I got the fries as a side, so I didn't have to spend the whole meal battling the steak! They were crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, delicious! ~ Mango, Coconut & Hazelnut ice cream $21 ~ [Rating: 4.5 / 5] The hazelnut was my favorite--so nutty and creamy! Came here for dinner on Friday night. We have been to several steakhouses in NYC: Benjamin's, Keen's, Maistros, etc. so we get the general gist of things. White table cloths, business casual attire, and an upscale theme in the financial district. Low lighting, wood accents, large paintings, and wait staff in ties and vests. We ordered a drink to start with mine being an old-fashioned. As an appetizer we shared a Caesar salad which had an interesting execution to it: large lettuce leaves tossed in the dressing, dusted in crouton dust, and finished with anchovies. Took off the anchovies and it tasted good. As an entree I went with the 10oz filet, ordered medium, and we shared the brussel sprouts. For it being a $70+ steak in an upscale steakhouse-- they undercooked it. Brussel sprouts were good. Trying to salvage the meal I went with the chocolate torte dessert. It was ok. Bottom line: definitely worth the hype. Food and service were fantastic. Husband and I were in NYC for a couple days and decided to hit a few icons during this visit. Our dinner choice was a Google search of "oldest steakhouse in NYC". While this isn't the longest running in one spot (per Google), this was one of the oldest establishments and was open on Monday (the other location was not). We arrived at 6:15 on a Monday night. It was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table with minima wait. Food: ordered (and shared) the crab cake, the delmonico cut (18oz), pommes puree, and the baked Alaska. The crab cake (photo below) was fantastic. The crispy hash brown surrounding the crab was such a cool way of serving it. Lots of crab, very fresh, and just a really good start to our dinner. This is definitely something you can share with another person. Don't let the size fool you - it's very filling. The delmonico we had medium rare, serviced with the black garlic butter. Fantastic! Not super fatty, but great marbling. Tender, great flavor, and the 'crust' was perfect. Loved the black garlic butter as well. Really nice touch. The 18oz was perfect to share. We both agreed that there was no way we could have finished one alone. Pommes puree was the only side we ordered and it was really, really good. Great flavor and very light / smooth. The baked Alaska was so freaking amazing. The flavors mix was so well done and all the textures went well. This is the first baked Alaska that I really, really enjoyed. It always sounds so good on paper, but this is the first one that actually lived up to it. Service: attentive without being overbearing. Fantastic. And the fact they were so nice when we kept saying "we are going to split this" - was nice. They brought out separate plates and had the steak cut to help with sharing. Really accommodating- very grateful for that. Ambiance: really nice spot. Loved the main dining room and the bar area as well. Easily could be a place you celebrate a special occasion. We've been dying to try Delmonico's for such a long time and finally made it during Restaurant Week! We found a spot at the bar to hang out while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. I had the Green Gatsby (very refreshing but one was enough as it reminded me of spa water) and my girlfriend ordered the Never Say Never. Service was top notch! Our waiter offered for a sommelier to come to our table and help us select the right wine based off our taste preferences. The restaurant week menu is a great deal if you're trying out a restaurant for the first time - we each had an app, entree and dessert for $60! I had the yellowtail crudo, eye of Delmonico (5oz) and the Baked Alaska. Portions are smaller during restaurant week but still worthy nonetheless. Of course I had a bite of everyone else's apps - sharing is caring after all. The bacon app, Caesar salad and Crab cake with potato were all so good. I'll definitely be sure to order during my next visit. For dessert, try the Baked Alaska! It's walnut cake, apricot jam and banana gelato with meringue. This was definitely a 5 star dinner! read more

Absolutely amazing! Went here for my one year marriage anniversary. Everything was delicious. I got the filet mignon and it was probably one of the best I've had. We had the mushrooms and the asparagus as a side. They were both amazing and had good flavor. They had a wine connoisseur that helped us select our wine. He was absolutely amazing and asked us a couple of questions to see what we were looking for. His selection was just perfect and matched well with the steak. The server was also super friendly and attentive, he definitely helped us enjoy our anniversary dinner. It was a quiet night, the ambiance was nice, most people were getting off work. Classic for a reason! Great food, great vibe, great service! The fish and the bacon apps are excellent and highly recommended The steak is beautifully and perfectly seasoned. Like i said, they are classic for a reason. They have a wide variety of options to choose from as in sizes of steaks. Their steaks are just the steaks so recommend ordering some sides They are famous for their baked Alaska so I had to order it. It was great not too much banana and apricot for me. But great dessert for the meal :) Their chocolate cake is also a hearty dish and highly recommended. read more
