Came here for the very first time during restaurant week. $60 for 3 courses had a lot of people attending as the restaurant was packed at 5:30pm. Didn't realise how big the restaurant was - we were seated in a back room behind the bar - had a nice ambience to it. The restaurant week menu offered a variety of options. I opted to pay $10 supplement and went for the Maine crab cake. No regrets there at all. It was so good. One of the best crab cakes I've had. For appz, we all ordered the steak which came with a brocolli and some mash. It was delicious, a bit on the undercooked side but otherwise good. My only complaint here is the portion sizes differ between three people attending. No consistency. My husband got the rib eye for $35 extra. He got it medium rare and it came rare. The waiter was apologetic and took it back. Desserts were great - got another up charge for the baked Alaska. Worth it to see the theatrics. All in all it was a good experience. I would recommend paying in cash if possible as it was an extra $20 on a $500 something meal to put it on credit card.
I like eggs benedict. So naturally, I had to try the restaurant where it was invented! I even brushed up on YouTube to see how it's made here! We started off sharing the crab cake. Oh my! It's quite possibly the best crab cake I've ever had. No filler, just a ton of sweet, succulent crab encased in a fried potato string pouch. I ordered the eggs benedict, of course. That bernaise sauce is just...wow! It's what really sets their eggs Benedict apart from everyone else's. I also liked the brioche versus the English muffin. I do wish they offered a half order because it is very rich, and also I'd also like to have room to try other items on the menu. The fiancé got the steak frites. Cooked a perfect medium rare, the steak had a good "beef" flavor. They really seasoned it minimally to allow the natural flavors to shine through. Another Delmonico's invention: we couldn't leave without the baked Alaska. Very banana forward and more on the sweeter side than we usually like. Glad we tried it, but wouldn't crave that one in the future. My boo literally had a two martini lunch: the first, an Olive martini, the second, a Delmonico's martini. He found the "Delmonico's" online and when he ordered it they brought him out a second Olive martini. When we inquired about it, the "Delmonico's" is an old recipe that was swapped out a few years ago (gin and vermouth), so be specific if that's what you're after! The service was very good here. The only "Ick" was there was a dead fly on our plate when we were first seated. I told one of the staff and they changed it right away. Delmonico's is America's first fine dining restaurant. Over 150 years strong! I think they know a thing or two about great food and excellent service.
The service was really good, I had a great waiter who was knowledgeable about wine pairings to your meal. For an appetizer, I got the caramelized bacon, which was really delicious. For my entrée, I got the signature Delmonico Ribeye and it was really bad. The cut of meat I had I believe bad - super chewy, medium but was a tough cut, fatty. Just overall a pretty bad experience for their "signature" cut of meat. And for my dessert, I had the chocolate symphony - not really a huge fan of dessert but it was about a 6. Overall pretty overpriced for a seemingly mediocre steak experience. I'm truly disappointed. Also one last mention other patrons and I were swatting gnats the WHOLE dinner experience. Not cool.
Great spot- we sat at the bar and the food was magnifique! Perfect for later NY dinner vibes. Recommend making a reservation- we went on a Tuesday and it was packed!
We were excited to try Delmonico's because it's supposed to be the birthplace of fine dining. Even though we made a reservation, we had to wait a bit while they figured out a table for us. The ambiance of the place was pretty cool -- we were in the lower level so there were no windows, but the wallpaper was filled with printed signatures of famous people. We came here for restaurant week but we upgraded the entree to the Wagyu New York strip (+$40) and the signature delmonico ribeye (+$35). I really liked the signature delmonico ribeye, but there was a huge section of just fat. It was probably 1/4 of the piece of meat they gave me. We also got a side of potatoes, which was an extra cost because our 2 entrees did not come with any sides. The potatoes were very interesting - it was layered but also felt like 2 big blocks of potato, kind of like 2 gigantic pieces of French fries. Overall, the servers were really friendly and helped us pack our leftovers really nicely. We were also celebrating a birthday and got a candle with ice cream to celebrate (on top of our restaurant week dessert).
Came here on our Anniversary to celebrate and it was a wonderful time. The experience was beautiful. The staff were amazing. Maria our waitress was wonderful and the hostess in the front was very kind as well. The food was delicious and I really loved the dessert. Best I have ever eating to be honest. We will definitely be going back. Came here a long time ago and everything is still the same.
During our time in NYC, we had an amazing dinner at Delmonico's. We started off with drinks, then shared a salad and had filets. The filet was probably the best I've had, very tender and juicy! I'm so glad we were able to dine in this iconic establishment. If you're in NYC, don't miss out on a lovely dinner at Delmonico's.
5 star service. It's the oldest steak house in NYC. (Also fun fact they did some filming for John wick here) Dimly lit speak easy vibes in the bar area, which we loved. The Delmonico Eye is a solid choice, as well as the filet. Caesar salad is easily the BEST Caesar I've ever had, and I've probably had over 1,000 in my lifetime. The crab cake is out of this world. Kevin was our server, he was a delight. This will be a new frequent spot for us.
14 years later and I've come back for a restaurant week deal. I paid $35 14 years ago and inflation now brings us to $60 for a dinner menu. Still completely worth it. I've upped the rating to 5 stars 14 years later and now have photos to show for it. As someone who has gestation diabetes and is slightly anemic this restaurant week menu was perfect for me. The appetizer was a caramelized bacon but I asked for it to have no caramelization. It came out 5 minutes later and was substantial and tasty even without the caramelization. My partner had the Maine crab cake for an additional supplement of $10. He said that was the most crab he's ever seen in a crab cake. Needless to say he enjoyed it. The entree I had the New York strip steak with Pomme Purée, Broccolini, Sauce Verte. I asked for it well done as that's my current situation and it probably came out slightly under well done. I ate it nonetheless, and no issues a few days later. I started with the steak and then the broccolini and dabbled a bit with the pomme puree (limiting myself because of GD). The steak was absolutely divine with the sauce verte. The only con was I wish I had more sauce! The broccolini was also nicely done - no bitterness and the perfect crunch. The pomme purée was just wow. I was only able to have a few bites but this was the most flavorful mashed potato I've ever had. You cannot go wrong with this dish, especially with no additional surcharge. My partner had the wagyu, but it didn't look as appealing as mine. It only came out as a steak with no sides. He said he enjoyed it though. He had to then separately order a side of broccolini and that was good in the restaurant but not microwaved a few days later. The dessert we had the cheesecake and chocolate mousse. The cheesecake was for me and was the more practical option for someone with GD. I allowed myself one bite and packed the rest for home. It was so very satisfying. The berries and the cake were perfect. I pricked my finger an hour later and since my levels were optimal, I allowed myself another 3 bites when I got home. The mousse seemed good as well. Overall, my levels stayed well below 140 and I was so very satisfied with this meal. The service was also excellent. We had the sweetest server who was very accommodating.
Great steakhouse. We started in the bar with a few cocktails. Bar service was great. Our bartender answered a few questions and even gave us some dinner recommendations. We ordered crab cakes, Cesar salad, and steak tartare for our appetizer. The crab cakes were more crab than cake. It was very crabby and delicious. The tartare was also very good. Although there was more potato than steak pieces, it was still very tasty. The Cesar salad was very good as well. Whole leaf baby Romain lightly tossed and with whole pickled anchovies. Yum. For our entrees, we ordered the porterhouse for 2, pea risotto, filet mignon, Brussels sprouts, and pomme purée. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our meat temperature was perfect. Porterhouse was served on a sizzling plate and was also pre sliced for us to share. The filet mignon was also pre sliced. We ordered the baked Alaska for dessert. The banana in that really shined and was very tasty. Typical classic steakhouse in an intimate setting. Highly recommend.
From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, and we were seated right away. Spacious seating and well lit for lunch time. Our server, Kevin, was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. We started with the crab cake. Crab cakes can be hit or miss, but this one was a hit. The crab wasn't overpowering, and the seasoning on the crispy outside was just right. I ordered the sirloin, and my husband had the ribeye. Both steaks had a perfect sear, were seasoned really well, and were incredibly tender. The mashed potatoes were just as good. For dessert, we couldn't pass up the Baked Alaska. The banana sorbet inside was such a nice surprise, and the sweetness paired perfectly with the toasted meringue. My husband also ordered the Chocolate Symphony, and if you're a chocolate lover, this dessert is for you. Such a great experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back--and next time, I'm trying the famous Delmonico burger!
YES!! you should make a reservation if for no other reason than because there is important, fine dining restaurant history right here, inside (& outside) Delmonico's, located on Beaver Street in downtown Manhattan, Steps from famous Wall Street. Steps from the famous huge bull sculpture on Wall Street. I mentioned the historical outside because I read in an article somewhere that when the restaurant first opened, people would rub the pillars that are outside by the entrance for good luck. Started in 1837, Delmonico's has a storied history and you are able to see some of it on display inside the restaurant. Photos and memorabilia from the early, early days. And for that reason alone, you should dine here. Mark Twain celebrated his 70th birthday here and you can see artwork on the wall depicting that. Delmonico's created several very famous, beloved dishes ...For example, the dessert called baked Alaska. And other dishes you may be familiar with. Please, See their website. By the way, 1837 is the same year that Tiffany & Co started. What a time!! Can you imagine!? I enjoyed WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK 2026!! I had lunch on my first visit to Delmonico's. I ordered the Maine Crab Cake (+$10) Mmm, I enjoyed this dish, see my photos. It is an artful dish. A Maine crab cake enrobed in yummy, crispy, shredded potatoes. Mmm!! What's not to like!?!?!!! LOL My entree was Filet Mignon. Loved the accompanying whipped potatoes. (See photo) . I'd rate this filet mignon itself 4 stars, only because it was not as soft as I'm used to when I order filet mignon. I was looking forward to that yummy, almost melt-in-your-mouth-softness, but, alas it was not there. I was surprised (and disappointed). It was good, not spectacular. It was deliciously seasoned. My 3rd course, THE FAMOUS DELMONICO'S BAKED ALASKA (+$10). A MUST!!! See my video!! On a very cold winter's day, I appreciated the warm welcome when I entered the restaurant and that was thanks to the two women at the Hostess station. When I left, no one said anything. Nothing at all. (Almost comical, but not). And there was plenty of restaurant, staff and management by the door. A missed opportunity, to be sure. Ideally, you want your patron to leave on an up note level and the goodbye is part two of the welcome. Toward the end of my late lunch, I saw the next shift of servers (upcoming dinner time) arranging beautiful place settings on tables and sometimes adding a chair or two to a large round table. I was very impressed with the care that I saw from each of those servers setting those tables and arranging things on the table. It was obvious the staff I was watching cared deeply about having things just right, perfect. Seeing this reminded me of the fine dining establishments I've had the pleasure of visiting. Kudos to that evening staff caring about setting those tables just right. That was great to see. I loved where I was seated in a beautiful blue cozy booth type table. Apparently there was going to be a shift change... so my first server was very attentive and I appreciated that very much; he was professional and kind. I missed him when I experienced the second server; although he walked by my table several times he was initially not attentive. In any business, There is usually room for improvement. I would respectfully suggest that Delmonico's reminds servers when they're walking by a table to keep their eyes open all around, not just in one direction because at least twice the second server walked by my table, looking away from my table with his back toward my table, never turned his head to see if I needed anything and of course I did so it was frustrating to have him walk by twice. I was not going to call out, simply because that would have ruined my restaurant experience. Delmonico's is beautiful inside and I wanted to keep that ambience and that's why I did not say excuse me hello ... I just figured eventually my server would walk by and look at my table and eventually he did, and I took that opportunity to have a respectful chat with this server so that he was aware that twice he had walked by my table and not even looked in my direction. He was respectful and he heard what I had to say and the next time he walked by what do you think happened? He looked at my table, smiled, I smiled, too, and that's when I ordered my pot of tea which I enjoyed. From then on, things were fine. See my photos. As part of Delmonico's history, you will see photos on the walls. I enjoyed this. If Delmonico's gave a tour of the restaurant I'd sign up for that. But I can tell you there is a bar area that's lovely , and the nearby, single person restroom was lovely and clean. I believe There are some private dining rooms, too. Make a reservation! You can take the 4 or 5 train to the Wall Street stop, then walk toward the famous Wall Street Bull sculpture, and turn onto BEAVER STREET, and you are steps from Delmonico's.
I went to delmonicos for restaurant week, and they had a really great deal. For $60 each we got an app, main, and dessert. There is an upcharge for certain specialty items but overall it's much more affordable than coming outside of restaurant week. The place is a historic institution with great service and a lot of seating. For drinks, we got the lychee martini and a purple gin drink. I don't remember the name and can't find it on the website but the purple one was my favorite. For apps, we tried the Caesar salad and the thick cut bacon. The bacon is a must have, delmonicos does it so well. The Caesar salad has small roe mixed through it so if you don't like seafood maybe skip that one! For mains, the restaurant week menu had their filet mignon and then the ribeye was available for $33 extra. The ribeye is their specialty so we tried it, but personally I liked the filet more! It had a great sauce on it. Both steaks were perfectly done. For dessert we had chocolate cake and cheesecake. Both were great but I especially liked the cheesecake. Overall, everything was so well done. Great place for a special occasion
We made a reservation for New Year's Eve dinner since we've never been before. The restaurant was packed when we arrived. They have a dress code, so be sure to dress appropriately. We were seated in the side room next to the bar room. We had to order the classics. Shrimp cocktail, ribeyes, creamed spinach, asparagus and the famous baked Alaska. Every dish was cooked perfectly and was the quintessential steakhouse meal. The ribeye was nicely charred and the star of the meal. The baked Alaska was a great way to end the meal. Not too sweet and a good size for sharing. Even though we were full, we couldn't help finishing the dessert. We'll be back to try the menu served at the bar room! read more
I've been living in NY so long and yet for some reason never hit this spot. There has been changes over the years and I believe it was even closed at some point. But now that I've tried it Delmonico will definitely be in my rotation of steakhouses. The interior was beautiful with murals on the walls and a classic modern vibe. Would not hesitate to bring a date or clients here. The service was fine. No better or worse. It was attentive and it wasn't too hard to get their attention. The som, on the other hand was excellent. He was friendly and suggested some interesting wines. He wasn't pushy at all. We gave him a price range and what we wanted and he suggested. Variety of bottles from new and old world. Food is where this place shines. Yes, there is history with the baked Alaska, Delmonico cut, and eggs Benedict. But the food was prepared in a very modern way. Not the same old boring appetizers and sides you get at places like Peter Lugers. I was especially impressed with how they cooked the steak. I asked for medium rare and it was medium rare throughout without unevenness you sometimes get with the grill guy who is not so experienced. Highly recommended. read more
As the first fine dining restaurant in America, there's so much history with a classic feel here like many steakhouses. We arrived early for our reservations, so we went for a drink at the bar. I had the Never Say Never ($25) cocktail, which was a bit too sour for me. Once our table was ready, we brought our drinks over to the table as well. So multiple rooms including a downstairs, so the space feels cozy while also being so spacious. After we placed our orders, a basket of bread was brought out. The bread was a sourdough with soft butter, which was really good. I wanted to eat more of this, but didn't want to overstuff myself. For the main entree, I ordered the Lobster Newberg ($59). This dish comes with a beautifully cooked lobster tail with its claw meat over this nice sauce. On the side, it also comes with a brick of crispy rice over a miso sauce. It's an interesting combo, but I enjoyed this. Also tried some of the Hashbrown ($18), which was huge. This was more of a skillet mashed potato than a hashbrown, in my opinion though. The creme fraiche complimented this well though. My fiancé's steak was a bit more rare than he ordered, so it was a bit chewy. To finish off, we had some scoops of ice cream ($6) and cheesecake ($17). The cheesecake was so soft and silky, though quite a small piece. Overall, it's a pricey meal, but fit for a special occasion. We all ended up pretty full and satisfied. The service was attentive from some but less so from others, so a bit of a mixed review for that. read more
Top notch steakhouse experience during resturant week. The food and service exceeded expectations. From drinks at the bar to coat check, table sevice..everything was well taken care of smiles. We did the resturant week menu, tried the crabcak which was fresh, hot and pretty you almost didn't want to taste it. The cesar salad was delicious. The steak here was cooked to perfection. My sister chose this restaurant as she was looking to go to a steakhouse. Little did I know the history that Delmonico's holds. I was truly happy when I realized once we were seated. Everyone was super warm and inviting. We sat in the lounge to wait for our full party and then got escorted to our table. The Dining area was warm lit and cool vibes. Once we sat down we realized that it was still Summer Restaurant Week so we decided to do the menu for that. First we got bread which was an olive loaf and butter. It was delicious. For drinks some of us got Lemon Drops with Don Julio Reposado and it was so yummy. The Birthday girl got a Gypsy Rose which was nice. And another young lady at the table got a Lychee Spritz which she said was good. For appetizers we ordered Caesar Salads, Maine Crab Cake & Caramalized Bacon. I had the salad which was amazing and had 2 little anchovies in the middle of the salad which I enjoyed. The birthday girl had the bacon which she said was good. I didn't try it because I don't eat pork. For my entree I ordered the Eye of Delmonico which was so good. My Sister ordered the Signature Delmonico Ribeye which was even better! It was seasoned so well and had caramelized onions on top which was amazing. We also got 2 Black Garlic Butters for the table which was so good for the steak. Next Came dessert. I ordered a Delmonico Original Baked Alaska since it had some history to it. It was AMAZING! It was brought out and flambéed at the table. :-) very yummy. My Sister ordered a Cheesecake and it was decorated for her Birthday :-) it was so pretty and yummy. It was a light and mousse texture and was not too sweet. A couple of the ladies had the Chocolate Symphony which was also amazing. Very rich and flavorful but not too overwhelming. Some of us had leftovers which was packed for us and were were given a check ticket to pick it up on the way out. Very Classy. The service was amazing, as the food. Came here for restaurant week without a reservation and was able to walk in after 8pm. It was a little bit above my expectations and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fixed menu items I ordered. The yellowtail appetizer though it was only 3 pieces of fish, was super tasty and they added a nice texture from the quinoa on top. The signature delmonico was really tender with a good amount of marbling, but not overwhelming and made me understand how it became a menu item across many steakhouses. The baked Alaska was quite a dessert, super fluffy, but not as light as it looks. The banana flavor was strong, but gave it a great flavor along with the texture of the meringue. I'd go back for either the delmonico ribeye or baked Alaska again. read more

Delmonico is in a class by itself. From the moment you enter the establishment in a triangle point entrance, everyone is super professional. The ask you to check your coat in the corner closet so as not to clutter up the dining rooms. They have several rooms including a room for just the bar. We went all the way to the back room to Stewart our experience. Nero was our server and he was a pleasure to deal with. It is a group effort, since we also was approached by the sommelier to see what wine we were going to order.We were not in a mood to drink since we had an early start the next day. We each had a glass of the Ken Wright pilot noir. It is perfect for most steaks you will have. I ordered a Delmonico Eye steak which was incredibly delicious. The flavor was amazing. My colleague ordered the strip. I actually much preferred my Eye steak. It really impressed me with the flavor. I asked them to prepare it med rare to med and it was just right. I also ordered the cream spinach which also was done right. The main dining experience was awesome. The real deal came when we ordered the Baked Alaskan dessert! Those is a must have to finish your dining experience. We enjoyed our experience at Delmonico, I am happy I wanted to try other for the 1st time and enjoyed. The front women could be a little more friendlier. They had a borderline stuck up attitude that my colleague and I noticed. The coat check girl was super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I went for lunch yesterday and I liked it! The atmosphere and decor is classic, the staff is courteous and it has a very relaxed vibe. I ordered at the bar with Mark who was excellent. I had the burger and fries with a gypsy rose cocktail. The cocktail was light, sweet and fruity not very alcohol forward. The burger (medium) juicy with solid flavor. Fries are more like a steak cut, crispy, hot and filling. All and all it was a cool experience at a classic, historical restaurant and it ran me about $70 With tax before gratuity. read more
We were in the city to see the Rockettes and kids wanted steaks. I was thinking Keens or Delmonico's. Keens must be having a moment because we could not get a dinner reservation so we came here, and I feel bad because going forward, it will be a first choice. Everything was very good. For apps we got crab cake, chilled prawns, Caesar salad and caramelized bacon. Bacon and crab cakes were the stars. For dinner, we all had steak except for son's fiancée who wanted something lighter and went for the black cod, which turned out to be really good! Steaks were also good and sides of creamed spinach, fries and Brussels sprouts were also good. We were so full that we only got a hazelnut ice cream and they made an affogato even though it was not on menu. Service overall was really good and they put us in a quiet area behind bar area, which was really appreciated. We will definitely be back! So why not 5 stars? It is pricey! I know food prices are up all over but I think prices at steakhouses have really taken off. read more

This review is from the perceptive of someone who has not been to Delmonicos since 2018 (Pre-Pandemic). The place still has that classy ambiance. I am glad there is coat service as I brought a big bag of gifts and lots of layers. We came here for holiday cheers and noticed that the menu has changed and added a vegetarian friendly risotto, some salads (though one has to remove the ham off the place and if you have a big group, there is always someone you can give them too). Food: I had the wedge salad, risotto, double expresso and a scoop of hazelnut. My side came out to $120. My friends had flesh dishes and they paid on average between $150 to $250 each. I always rememered the Baked Alaska and used to indulge on them back in the day. I am glad I didnt order it as the size was very small for $24. I liked the elegance of this place and seeing so many big groups and couples. I recommend either asking for separate checks or one person paying all. Otherwise it is a production at the end. read more
Came here for Restaurant Week. It was the first time coming to this place I always wanted to visit,it being the oldest fine dining restaurant in America. The place is quite large and has many pictures and paintings and pieces of its vast history. The service is impeccable. Our water glasses were never less than half full. They would even sweep crumbs off our table. Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable. We didnt drink but the wine list is more like a novel. For starters I had the Carmelized Bacon. 2 large,meaty,crispy,fatty and smoky pieces of slab bacon with a sweet glaze. So good. For my main i got the 5oz Eye Of Delmonico med rare. Cooked perfect with amazing seasoning. No steak sauce needed. We ordered sides since none came with the steak. On the advice of several of the Yelp reviews I read we got the Roasted Mushrooms. I am a huge mushrooms fan and these were some of the best Ive ever had. Perfectly cooked in a soy tasting glaze. They were meaty and packed with Umami flavor. I wish i could do mushrooms this good. We also got the Creamed Spinach and that too was expertly done. For dessert I had too get the Baked Alaska,which they invented. It was a show stopper as they pour the flaming liquid (rum? Cognac?) over the top. The contrast of flavors/textures with the banana ice cream,apricot preserves,cake,meringue and crunch pecans was perfect. Very rich but absolutely delicious. Im glad I had a nice walk back to Fulton St station to work it off! This was the best meal Ive had so far in 2025 and I would gladly return. read more
Service and ambiance was nice. Although we had reservations, it was quite a wait so be prepared for that. The appetizer burrata was yummy and delicious and served on a piece of bread which was interesting. The yellowtail crudo was yummy esp with the crunchy pearls on top. The brussels sprouts were cooked nicely charred but had a wasabi taste that wasn't my favorite. The restaurant week deal online indicated the Eye of Delmonico to be 12 oz but note in person menu showed 5 oz and indeed it was that. Medium rare but kinda tough/dry. A bit disappointing. The dessert was amazing. Loved the chocolate cake as it was super rich. read more
What an amazing dinning experience, this place is run so smoothly. The employees really take pride in working here and it shows. The building itself is stunning both inside and outside. Walking in feels as though you've been taken back in time. It is elegant and classy, an experience I won't forget. It is filled with a rich history. We sat in the bar area as it was a Saturday night and did not have reservations. There were a few spot available but filled up quickly after we sat down. We ordered from the bar menu and had a few drinks. The food came out and it was perfection. Everything was incredible. We ordered the wedge salad, Cesar salad, steak and burger with fries. Not a single complaint. Our server was friendly and professional. We truly had a magical time. This restaurant will always bring a smile to my face when I think of NYC. Father's Day on a rainy day ! We made the best of it .. Great steak at a very historical place with amazing ambiance and feel.. the seating was very cozy and cool. The service was ok. Not as attentive as I'm use to but he displayed a good level of patience as we ordered. The wine wasn't what I expected but that's my fault for not describing in detail the taste I was hoping to experience. Overall I'd give it an 8-. The price tag was definitely there but it was worth going to. It's off my bucket list lol. read more
During my trip to NYC my friend and I decided to splurge on a delicious dinner at the historic Delmonico's. We had the filet mignon, peppercorn sauce , fries, and mash potatoes. And it was worth every penny. The service was delightful and the restaurant lived up to its reputation. read more

This was my second visit to Delmonico's, but my first time leaving a review -- unfortunately, it's not the positive one I had hoped for. Overall, the service, ambiance, and most of the food were excellent. * Appetizers: The crab cakes were fantastic -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and one of the best I've had. The raw oysters started off fine, but halfway through my half dozen, one was clearly bad. It had a sour taste, which I only realized after swallowing it. * Drinks: The lychee-flavored cocktail was refreshing and delightful. * Main: The signature Delmonico ribeye was cooked well and full of flavor. However, I noticed the crispy shallots garnish was far less generous than on my last visit. * Dessert: The Baked Alaska was both delicious and beautiful -- especially with the fire presentation at the table. Sadly, the bad oyster ruined the night. I ended up with food poisoning after the meal, which is why I can only give one star this time. I truly hope the restaurant pays closer attention to seafood quality going forward, because otherwise, Delmonico's has so much to love. read more

With the exception of the snobby hostess, the service was great. Our steak was cooked as requested and the potatoes were the best I've ever had. The mushrooms were fantastic as well. The oyster with caviar was a special treat. Picked the apple pie for dessert and it was great. Beautiful restaurant! read more

Simply the best food, amazing selection , wonderful service and management, incredible atmosphere, elegant and historic - I come to New York at least 6 times a year and eat there twice each visit. It's hands down my favorite restaurant anywhere of all time. read more

A classic steakhouse in a busy Wall Street neighborhood. The hostess station and Coat Check has the nicest greeters at the door (and pretty I might add). A nice spacious dining room on the first floor. The gorgeous and impressive wine room and party space on the lower level. I was lucky to score a tour since a friend of mine knows the peeps. The wait staff are exceptional with their white glove service. Polite and well informed of their menu. The sommelier knew just what I'd like based on two questions. Merlot was divine. Must try the Delmonico Signature steak, it's namesake. I believe it was 16 oz, so tender and juicy the filet. My waitress brought some truffle butter on the side. Chef's kiss. The hash browns was quite a presentation as well. At first look it was extra crisp but after the first spoon you reveal a beautifully cooked potato hash. Delicious. The Cesar salad with Anchovies is also a dish to order just because. It's a stunning looking salad and delicious. My other favorite vegetable of the night was the creamed spinach is a must try and notable here unlike other places, you get the whole spinach leaf. They are not chopped up. That was a pleasant surprise. Moving onto dessert - Baked Alaska is their signature dessert and again, final presentation done table side, it's a must order. This was invented here by the first Chef and I can see why it's a favorite. Served on the stunning Delmonico's gold rimmed plate which retails for $100. You gotta see it. The chocolate cake is also sinfully decadent. A classic grand old time to be had. It's a must visit on your steakhouse tour in NYC. Reservations are a must. read more

Food: The food was mediocre. We did the Restaurant Week menu. The burrata was just okay. The candied bacon was good and on the sweeter side. For entrées, we ordered the filet mignon and the salmon. The steak wasn't amazing. The temperature was correct, but I wish it had a better sear on the outside. The salmon was not good -- very greasy and lacking flavor. The clams also had sand in them. Service: There was one server, a man with glasses, who was extremely rude. He came out of nowhere, didn't say anything, and took away our plate, leaving the napkin on the table. This happened a couple of times. He didn't seem as rude to other tables, which was odd. He also took our bread away without asking. We sat down at 5:15 pm and finished everything by 6:00 pm. The service felt very rushed. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be coming back. read more

Me and my dad went here to celebrate my 40th birthday. This is the one of best steaks I've ever had. We arrived a little early for our reservation since we got there quicker than we thought. They were very friendly and seated us pretty quickly. We got seated in the board room which was a private room that had only 4 tables so it was much quieter than the main rooms. We did the restaurant week special. I started with the caramelized bacon and my dad had the Burrata. Both were delicious (the bacon was better than Peter Lugers). We both got medium rare steaks. My dad got the strip and I got the Delmonico ribeye. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. I loved the crust/char on my steak which had a little kick but not too spicy. We got a side of Delmonico's potatoes which were very good. To finish it off I got the baked Alaska (which they flambé at the table) and my dad got the Chocolate sympathy. Both were delicious. The service was also excellent all around. We never had empty water glasses (even though we did also get cocktails). The only minor nitpicks were that the regular menu is a little pricey (even for NYC) and it took a little bit of time to get the bill after we were done. They also charge a fee for using a credit card which we found odd for a restaurant of this caliber. But none of these things take away from one of the best meals I've ever had and it was one of the best birthdays I ever had. read more

As a first time New York visitor I was excited to dine in at New York's iconic steakhouse. However, my experience was not the best. Firstly, service was poor given the reputation of the establishment. Our servers changed throughout the dinner service, servers were not attentive. Worst service I have experienced. Secondly my steak was cold and side dishes I ordered were cold as well. My Moms steak was not cooked to the temperature we have asked, the whole experience was not what I expected. Mushrooms were tasteless, cold and bland. The hash browns we ordered were dry and overcooked. My overall experience less than satisfactory. read more

I’d say atleast 200$ for 2 for a good meal and glasses of wine.

No, but there is a parking garage across the street from the restaurant on Beaver Street.

I'd say causal business Friday and Saturday evening a little more dressy.

Almost anywhere in the area if you are lucky enough to find a spot. I was lucky enough to find one directly across the street on new years eve at 6:30. Good luck have fun.
