Bismark, salted caramel crumb cake, Jelly Doughnut
    Nick C.

Stopped at this location after only going to the Providence one before. I grabbed three things; a salted caramel crumb cake slice, a bismarck and a discounted day-old donut. My favorite was the bismark. Oh man! The Italian pastry cream filling was amazing and the dough was so fresh. The salted caramel crumb cake was very moist throughout. But the "crumb topping" wasn't like a typical coffee crumb style. It had little pieces of it, but mostly a frosting and a caramel sauce - which were fantastic tbh. And for the powdered donut, I could tell the dough itself was a touch old as it was a little dry, but the strawberry filling was on point and there was plenty of it.

This review is based on my visit in February for the #BestDonutsRI competition.    The parking lot is part of a small outlet strip, but spots were open around 10:30am on a Saturday.   There was a good amount of bakery goods and donuts. This location offers a slightly different selection compared to the Providence Deluise Bakery. I'm not sure if it was the lighting, but this location is better lit and has a better vibe, as well. There was a small line, but it moved quickly.   The donuts were in the case below the register and easy to see. We chose the Sugar Raised Donut and the Reese's Raised Donut. I'm not sure why, but the dough from this Deluise was sweeter than the Providence location. Maybe these are a different batter or fresher? I prefer these donuts over the Providence Deluise location.

Deluises is a very good Italian bakery. The bakery is filled with traditional assortments of Italian pastries, pies, and breads. This morning the bakery was busy and the customers formed a line outside the building to accommodate the three-person rule due to Covid. My husband and I split a chocolate frosted donut and a coffee cake. We really liked the chocolate donut, but the coffee cake was so-so. The donut is a top-tier donut in RI, and my only wish was that their was more delicious frosting on it. Definitely worth a repeat trip.

A Cranston classic. They kept Zaccagninnis pizza recipe-the absolute best pizza rounds in the state. Lots of goodies and the prices are great!

I am so lucky to live near this bakery. It is a traditional Italian bakery with fresh bread that you can buy whole or they will slice it for you. They have pizza strips and pizza rounds with cheese and with cheese and pepperoni or just plain. They have beautiful pastries and cheese cakes and cakes. The service is excellent and the bakery is so clean. I so much enjoy coming here but it's one of those places where you go in for 1 thing and end up with an armful. They also have a new sugar free cake which I'm very excited about. I'm anxious to try it tonight and I am sure it will be as good as the rest of their products. It is so convenient to be on Oaklawn Avenue and near to a lot of other errands that I have to do. So a great location and a great Italian traditional bakery

The bakery has a small parking lot with about half a dozen spots. A policeman was on duty today to direct cars to the Walgreen parking lot next door when this lot was full, and to let them in when spots were open. As the line of people waiting outside the door to get in was constant, this was very smart planning and much appreciated. Some folks seemed to know St. Joseph's Day was very busy here and had placed orders in advance. These smart shoppers skipped the line and quickly came back outside with their orders bagged up. The line moved pretty well with four shop assistants helping customers. Only about 10 guests, max, fit inside at a time. Once inside bagged breads like sandwich rolls were on shelves while calzone and other meal pastry were in a case. Then, there were three cases full of zeppola. During our visit they had chocolate, pistachio, ricotta and original available. We got one of each. I cut my first zeppola in half and see the cream filling sits all the way down into the pastry. These are firm enough to hold in your hand and bit into. The pastry is very much like that in an éclair. Firm while being light and airy. The original filling is a lovely custard. The chocolate is a fluffy cream base I believe. Both were very tasty. I have two more to try and am looking forward to them. Between these tasty pastry and other items they had for sale there, we'll be back. You should check them out too.

The women behind the counter are always friendly, patient, and genuinely pleasant to deal with. Even when the bakery is busy, they keep things moving while making customers feel welcome. What I love most is that Buono's still feels like an old-school Rhode Island Italian bakery. It hasn't lost its identity. Walking through the door feels like stepping into a piece of the Rhode Island many of us grew up with, where quality mattered, recipes were passed down through generations, and people took pride in what they made. It's absolutely worth the drive, even if you're coming from the other side of the state. Five stars without hesitation.

I hit seven other bakeries ranked way higher, and not one of them delivered. Then I found Bruno's Italian Bakery, and friends, the search is over. This is the chocolate cake I was looking for!8 And here's the thing that really got me, the staff were exceptional. I spend my life talking about how the relationship is the intervention and people are what make a place worth returning to, and Bruno's proved it. The cake brought me in, but the people are why I'll keep coming back every single time I'm in the Providence, Rhode Island area. Consider me obsessed.
