A go to spot for me also. On to the review! I walk in and greeted by a very polite person asking me what I would like and started off with a loaf of Italian bread sliced. They grab the loaf fly to the back and before you know they are right back and asked if I wanted anything else and I asked for some torpedo rolls and while they grabbed that I scooped up some Hermit cookies (my favorite thing here!). We square up at the counter with a fast polite credit card transaction and I'm out the door ( watch the step going in and out). Great little town bakery where most the locals can be seen chit chatting back and forth while ordering stuff. Great friendly vibe. Nice clean place and really awesome Hermit cookies! The outside shell and the pumpkin inside was packed with flavor. I also really enjoy the graham cracker base. My husband had the yodel ($4.00), a chocolate cake rolled with a buttercream filling and covered with chocolate and sprinkles. He enjoyed his pastry as well. Later that day, I saw Sin posted on their instagram that they were unfortunately closing the retail storefront and going back to focusing on custom cakes and speciality dessert orders. The last day the bakery will be open is Sunday, September 21st. I was so glad I was able to stop by before they closed.

The bakery has a small parking lot with about half a dozen spots. A policeman was on duty today to direct cars to the Walgreen parking lot next door when this lot was full, and to let them in when spots were open. As the line of people waiting outside the door to get in was constant, this was very smart planning and much appreciated. Some folks seemed to know St. Joseph's Day was very busy here and had placed orders in advance. These smart shoppers skipped the line and quickly came back outside with their orders bagged up. The line moved pretty well with four shop assistants helping customers. Only about 10 guests, max, fit inside at a time. Once inside bagged breads like sandwich rolls were on shelves while calzone and other meal pastry were in a case. Then, there were three cases full of zeppola. During our visit they had chocolate, pistachio, ricotta and original available. We got one of each. I cut my first zeppola in half and see the cream filling sits all the way down into the pastry. These are firm enough to hold in your hand and bit into. The pastry is very much like that in an éclair. Firm while being light and airy. The original filling is a lovely custard. The chocolate is a fluffy cream base I believe. Both were very tasty. I have two more to try and am looking forward to them. Between these tasty pastry and other items they had for sale there, we'll be back. You should check them out too.

The prices are cheap, like 3 cookies for $1 cheap. In general, their products have much, much less sugar than American pastries and are a bit more dense. It is a refreshing change from the neighborhood's Italian bakeries. The only downside was the guy behind the counter didn't speak English well enough for me to ask lots of questions. The setting is lovely- right by a playground, on a residential street. I really appreciate that they have outdoor seating available to enjoy the setting but also for those with pets (not allowed inside).

We also tried the Jerusalem bagel, the chocolate chip scone, coffee cake and I cannot remember what else. Loved the vibes and the service was friendly. Would definitely stop in for coffee if you're in the area!
