Angelina is always extremely professional with a steady, calm, yet still positive personality. This time around my visit was during the Covid-19 pandemic. Gladly, they had safety protocols in place ensuring no entrance before temperature is checked and mask verified. This was by a long way, the best experience I have had with any optometrist. I lost both my pairs of glasses and needed one urgently, Dr. Dennis's office was very understanding and accommodating. Angelina truly went above and beyond - The glasses I ordered were transition lenses which I found hard to get used to and requested swapping it out to regular lenses. When I returned the first pair to get the lenses swapped, they went ahead and ordered a pair of lenses for the second pair already! I got both of them fixed in the same trip. I visited Dr. Olson today for the first time. I have to say, the other Yelpers are right on...this was the most thorough eye exam I have ever gotten. I felt like Dr. Olson was very happy taking his time and not rushing through the exam, which is sometimes rare for a doctor these days. I had a feeling that my current contacts are not the right prescription for me. I've noticed since I bought them that I squint more, and lately, I've had more headaches than usual. My current contacts are 2.50 strength, and even when I first bought them, I thought the prescription was a little off. Prior to my exam last year, I'd worn 2.50 contacts in one eye, and 2.25 in the other, so I was surprised when I was given 2.50 for both eyes. Well, after Dr. Olson's exam, he recommended I try 1.75. I was surprised, because I had thought that my contact prescription was too weak. Turns out, when I put in the 1.75 contacts in Dr. Olson's office, my vision was instantly dramatically better! All this time I've been wearing lenses that were too strong for me. I am so grateful for Dr. Olson's diligence in examining my eyes...otherwise, I'd probably still have the wrong prescription. I am very happy with the quality of my exam and even made an appointment for my five year-old son to have his first eye exam as well! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Olson for over 20 years. He is thorough and professional. He always takes time to make sure you are comfortable during the eye exams and never rushes you to make a decision regarding glasses or contacts. His staff is helpful and I never have difficulty getting an appointment at a convenient time. Four years ago I had lasik surgery. Dr Olson referred me to a surgeon and that experience was positive too. Dr Olson met me at the surgeon's waiting room and stayed with me during the wait and the procedure. The surgeon said that Dr Olson is the only optometrist who does that for his patients. I really appreciated it. I have rarely had a problem with my glasses or lenses but when I did (before the lasik) Dr Olson always corrected the problem in a timely manner with a fair price. I've been going to this doctor for my glasses/contacts over the past maybe 6 years now, first introduced to me by my parents, and I've always had excellent service. I usually arrive on time, or even slightly early to my appointments and they've streamlined their process well enough that they've always been prompt in starting my checkup as soon as I get there. Dr Olson's current assistant Danielle gets me started on the glaucoma, and periphery tests, and they even have a new fancy schmancy retinal scan machine. The pictures they take are not covered by VSP, so you can opt out if you want. I actually wanted my images saved and examined because the reason I came in was because my eye was injured from a soccer ball. I was still having some moments of haziness in my vision, and Dr Olson pointed out some cloudy spots in my scan that he said attributed to it, besides that, my eye was healthy and normal... thank goodness! When it comes to the heart of the examination, Dr Olson is extremely thorough, so expect your appointment to run around 40 minutes, give or take. He's also very patient when you're debating between "which is clearer, option 1 or 2." Danielle also helped me pick out some cute glasses and gave me her opinion since I can be pretty helpless sometimes when it comes to fashion. The other plus sides (for me anyway): he's pretty close to work, and he stays open late on Tuesday evenings (8pm), and even works Saturdays (by appointment only). This review is long overdue. Last year I had an eye emergency, a detached retina, and I was a little freaked out. I looked for someone to help, on Yelp, and came across Dr. Olson, and called him, and he answered the phone, on a Saturday! He directed me to an excellent eye surgery clinic that had an emergency, Saturday doctor on call, and it all worked out very well. Thank you so much for that referral, Dr. Olson, and for answering the phone! I pledged to myself that I would use Dr. Olson as my optometrist for my next eye exam. Well, I did go to see Dr. Olson, and he is such a fantastic practitioner. I have never had such a thorough, interesting, enjoyable eye exam. The tests were are all part of his standard eye exam, which is anything but standard, and nothing is added on, and Dr. Olson really listens. He understands. He treats you like a friend. On top of all that, my eyeglass prescription is perfect. My last optometrist made my prescription too strong, and strangely, I lost those glasses very quickly. Something I have never done. I am going to see Dr. Olson next week for this years exam, and am looking forward to it. How many people would say that about a doctor's appointment? Dr.Olson is amazing and should be your top pick for an optometrist. My wife has been seeing him for 6+ years and my 12 year old son for 4+ and myself for 2. He is very patient, extremely thorough and meticulous. He is not very aggressive in treatment - sometimes under correcting a bit, so as to decrease the body's dependance on the lenses and allow the eyes to naturally heal and improve. My wife's power has gone down over time. He also provides his patients with developmental eye exercises which, most of the time, help with controlling or reducing the power. He also stresses the importance of a healthy diet and outdoor activity which has really helped. I have been meaning to write a positive review for years and finally got around to it. You cannot go wrong with him. He is also good with kids and puts them at ease in a difficult situation. Overall, he is an excellent optometrist. read more

I was referred by a friend to take my eight year old daughter for an eye exam. It was her first time, and she can be quite she with new people... but she opened right up to Dr. Olson! He was so kind and patient, she was very comfortable with him. D'oh! This is another review I should have done sooner. LOVE Dr. Olson. I used to have a hard core policy of only going to female dr.s because I think they have more compassion but I LOVE Dr. Olson. He has his own kids and was great with my 2 year old. He explained the development of sight in small kids. I have been seeing him probably 15 years and I asked about RK surgery way back in the day and he was really honest about pros and cons and I'm glad I didn't do it then. He also helped my friend get out of her glasses with some exercises for her eyes. I feel that when you ask if something is right for you, you will get an honest, ethical answer. He's also fixed multiple sets of glasses for free. My dogs and 2 year old have each destroyed at least one pair but when he hasn't been able to fix my glasses, he's told me why (like Kate Spade wouldn't replace just arms on one of my frames) so I don't wonder if I am just being sold another pair of glasses. And I LOVE my anti fatigue glasses, I'm on my second set and I totally thought it might be gimmick but my Rx has not changed in something like 7 years and I love them. read more

I'm in my mid forties and haven't had any issues with my vision. I went to see Dr. Olson and it seemed his only goal was to sell me on additional services which weren't covered by my insurance. I understand his interest in "up selling" but I was very disappointed when his kind and friendly attitude quickly switched off when I turned down the additional tests. Dr. Oslon is optometrist for our family for more than 10 years now. He is one of the most diligent, service oriented, caring professional that I have ever come across. How he is able to provide such high level care for so long for such reasonable price is amazing. First of all he spends lot of time on eye exams. And then he follows-up with extreme diligence. And in those cases, when there is a problem (such as a frame breaking or such things), he will take care of you very well. I was surprised a couple of time how he took care of problem with no additional expenses. I can't recommend him highly enough. Well, our doctor moved away and closed his practice, but not before referring us to Dr. Olson. I normally don't write comments for anybody or any company, but I can't resist writing about Dr Olson. By far, the best doctor I have ever seen. He takes the time to explain what is going on and what I need or don't need etc. I just had lasik surgery, and I was freaking out. He reassured me and was able to give me peace about my decision. I will continue to see Dr Olson, and please don't read that negative comment back in 2012. There is always someone like that on yelp that has to same something negative.
