I came in on a Friday night and there was a steady flow of people waiting to dine in or pick up their food. They were understaffed with only one cook and one server for a weekend night. For a party of 2, we waited over 30 minutes to get seated. We ordered the bacon avocado cheeseburger, cobb salad, and buttermilk pancakes. The beef on the cheeseburger was *chefs kiss* kissed to perfection and very juicy. The fries were crispy. The cobb salad wasn't my favorite, bc the bacon was overcooked and there was too much iceberg lettuce. BUT I was a huge fan of the balsamic vinaigrette. The buttermilk pancakes were warm and fluffy, and the whipped butter and maple syrup made them even better. Don't sleep on those pancakes! read more

Last week my job was celebrating Customer Service Week and served everyone in office breakfast. We decided to go with Dennys due to proximity. Let's start off with what didn't go well because the latter made up for it. We needed the breakfast order for 21 ready on a Tuesday morning. Because I felt like the restaurant would need advance notice for the order, I called the Monday before. The entire process what tiring. I called the first time and was advised to call back next day to the catering number (which is the same number but a different option LOL). Why not just transfer me? I called back again to the catering number (still Monday) and Angela told me to try back in an hour. I tried again after the hour and a male staff asked me a bunch of questions, like if I could go in to place the order that day. When I asked if I could just put the order online, he said yes, but I could also call in the order (umm isn't this what I was doing now?). At the end of the conversation, I decided to just place the order online ahead of the day. What went well...the order what done on time, hot and ready to go. All 21 orders were correct with no hiccups. The packaging of their to go orders is awesome. Thank you to the cooks for getting it done right. Also, the hostess there that day (I believe her name was Teresa) was an absolute gem. People like her are who needs to be celebrated on Customer Service Week. She was friendly when I called in the morning to confirm the order, she was welcoming and to the point when I arrived, she helped me take the food out to my car. Teresa was great! Because of my interaction with her, the cooks that did a great job and the food itself, is that Dennys gets a 5 star from me. read more

At Denny's in Alhambra, I waited about 25 minutes to order. While I was waiting, I saw the waitress serving other customers who came in after me. After some time I could not wait anymore and had to flag her down so that she didn't have a choice but to take my order, as other customers would notice that nobody was taking my order. After I ordered, she never asked me if I needed anything else or if the food or anything was okay. Looking back, I should have left right after seeing she first served other customers who came in after me, because the service did NOT get better and honestly just got worse. Alhambra Denny's is the worst Denny's around. I wouldn't want to spend my hard earned money at this Denny's again. If you want to go to a family friendly restaurant in Alhambra, it's much safer to go to IHOP. read more

Me and my kids came to Denny's this morning to try to enjoy some breakfast. As we arrived to the counter the older gentleman kept asking for my name and was saying my name wrong and as we where waiting to sit down a couple walked in and was seated before use and we have been waiting for over 10 min and there was no customers at all waiting. Until I got up and told the manager what was going on and that it wasn't fair that they walk in and got seated right away while me and my kids were waiting. He told me you have to be patient I told him it's not fair. His professionalism was not there at all. He is very rude, This is very upsetting they need to retrain him how to be polite and respectful to customers. It's been 30 min now and our food haven't arrived yet. I stopped here on the way to Vegas to eat with my family. I had some of the best service at this Dennys. Our server was a Guy named Charlie. He was so awesome really down to earth. Kept my glass filled and had extra care for my kiddos. The food was great and would highly consider going back 100 percent. Next time I'm in LA I'm for sure stopping by and getting some breakfast. Build your own gram slam: My scrambled eggs were cold when I got my order, pancakes were slightly burnt and very dry, and hash browns were soggy and cold too. The sausage was very peppery and fatty. I had a hard time eating this dish, 1/5. Classic Benny breakfast: We asked for over medium eggs, but the eggs were more over-easy. The muffins were dry and tough, so the dish was hard to swallow.
