Well let's say we been waiting ten mins to get seated. The host takes your name makes you wait then he seats people then he takes there drink order then decides to come. Back and seats us. Why did I come here? Instead of taking our orders there was a guy sweeping all around the tables . Haven't they had all day to do that. It's 4:30 so I always hope that sweeping won't happen while food is being consumed. Then the drink guy brought iced tea that tastes good. The server was great. The food much better than expected. By far the best Denny's I've been to in all of Bakersfield hands down. We came here Sunday around 1:30pm and it was busy, there was a family of 10 waiting and 2 other families of 4 but we were seated pretty quickly. Right away a waiter took our drink orders, then another waiter took our food order and after that the manager took over. I assume shifts were changing but the manager gave us such a good service and that is why they're getting 5 stars! Our food came out right away and was so delicious, she came by many times to make sure we were good and happy with our food. Every time we asked for something she brought it right away unlike other Denny's that forget and we have to ask multiple times. I overall really enjoyed this place and hope that on our next visit it is as pleasant as our first!! read more

The service here can be good, but half of the time we come here it has not been good. I've always liked the food at Denny's restaurants. I don't think that I've ever ordered anything but breakfast meals at this branch. The All American Slam is my usual choice here. If the service was consistently good, I'd be back more often. At least, the restaurant is clean and open 24 hours a day 365 days a year with breakfast served all day. read more

Worst service ever at a dennys, I'm writing this review while sitting here still waiting for our food, we got our drinks 49 min ago as of this moment and have not seen the server since she took the order. *edit* 56 min in the manager has taken over serving people, a table next to us had an elderly couple who only ordered soup and it took over 30 min just for them to get soup, table behind us also waited close to an hour and when they got their food they said it was cold....yeah that happens when plates sit in the window for 20 min waiting on a server. We finally got service again, almost a hour to even get a coffee refill and our food.... On to the food, most of it was pretty good, some was cold and I was not impressed, I will say the meal was not worth the $40 check which included 1 app, 2 adult meals and 1 child. Once the meal was done we waited over 20 min for someone to check on us again and give the check. 2.5 hours was wasted total with dennys and if they wouldn't of been the only place open at the time I wouldn't of even came, I almost walked out a couple times, its sad when I'm opening yelp to begin a review before I even get my food, its true that bad reviews come quicker and more often than a good review, I'm even guilty forgetting to do some of the good reviews I mean to do. Service is number one no matter what in this business. Dennys corp needs to also get their greedy heads out of their ass and let managers get the staff and training that's needed. So first off, it's DENNY'S- what can you really expect? Yes, it's greasy spoon diner food, and despite the ridiculously huge portions, the food is not cheap. Denny's is open 24.7 which is a plus. This Denny's is typically clean, relatively quiet, and the waitresses/waiters are friendly. If you can, ask for George (big, black guy) or Sabrina (Mexican lady with a tattoo on her upper chest). They are both adorable and very sweet. The food usually comes out quickly, and despite my many (and I mean MANY) modifications, it's nearly always correct. My husband says Denny's has better rice pilaf than say, IHOP, and I like the veggie omelette better than IHOP as well. The dinner rolls are delicious- I think I could eat them non-stop. Also, during this season (fall), try a slice of the pecan pie. /drool As the night goes on, there are typically more weirdos coming in, especially loud teenagers, bums, screaming babies with large families, etc. But that's not really Denny's fault, right? Speaking of which, there are a lot of kids' options with a colouring page and crayons and fun cups. Overall: Rosedale Hwy. Denny's is a great place to stop when it's in the dead of night and there's nowhere else to go. Or if you want someone friendly to just give you your food and leave you alone. read more

Came here the other day because my 5 year old wanted Denny's for her birthday breakfast. So we got there and got seated in a booth, our waitress Shelby gave us our menu, walked away and we never saw her again... We sat there for almost 20 minutes without being offered any drinks. My husband got up and asked to talk to the manager Tammy to see if she knew why our waitress was taking so long to go to our table. All Tammy did was make excuses for Shelby saying that maybe she felt overwhelmed. Overwhelmed from what? From visiting with her friends in a table on the other side of the restaurant? Tammy offered us free breakfast but we decided to get up and leave. We didn't go there to get free breakfast, we went there to have a nice breakfast for our daughters 5th birthday. I've been going to Denny's for a while. But since I'm new in town, I don't really know how it goes here. First experience I had with this Denny's, I ordered food to go. The receptionist expression was really sour. I thought to myself, maybe she was just having a bad day. I waited for a while and then my food came out. To my surprise, instead of being wrapped by the usual Denny's plastic bag, mine was wrapped in a clear trash bag! Yes you read it right. Not that it was dirty or anything. But come on! A box of food in a trash bag?? My second experience was when I dined in. Nobody really checked up on our table. A few waitresses passed by, clearly noticing our piled up plates and empty glasses, yet no one bothered to ask if we needed check or anything else. Instead they went to a different table, offering some refills to an obviously full glass. I brought it up to the manager while I was leaving tip. I said that no one really checked up on our table. And without apologizing, she said, "Well you shouldn't have left tip then." Wow. Just wow. I'm a waitress too so I know how busy it could get. But to receive an attitude like that especially from the manager itself? I would definitely not come back. read more

I probably won't be coming back to this location. Unfortunately this was not a favorable experience. We got seated in a timely manner however it took awhile to get our food after we ordered. We ordered an appetizer and pancake meals for 4. Our server didnt check on us as often as I would like. My coffee cup after the first delivery was empty until she delivered our appetizer. Our appetizer had either an eyelash or an eyebrow hair on it. When I gave it back to her, I thought that it was customary to remake it. However instead she just took it off our ticket. Maybe it was because the appetizer arrived with the rest of our breakfast?? Doesn't an appetizer arrive before the meal?? Maybe I'm wrong. We all looked forward to the meal but with hair on our food, I could not fully enjoy my meal because I was afraid I was going to find another unsatisfying debris. We were hungry and we ate what we order but we were all unsatisfied because we all had to make sure we didnt see hair in our food. Instead of a managers comfort, we got bad looks from the staff. This is by far my new favorite Dennys in town. I went for the food and I returned for the service. I've encountered different but polite servers; the one that stands out to me has be Erick, he's so energetic, and willing to help when needed. There was not a question about the menu that he couldn't answer us. Today's wasn't my first time here, obviously. But every time I go in Erick and Sebastian treat me like a special one. So we came here tonight after clubbin it up all night and worked up an appetite. We came to this Denny's. Can I just say the service was HORRIBLE !!!! They weren't even busy! Wtf!!!? First off, this is the worst experience I have ever had at any Denny's! We waited almost 15 minutes to be seated, because there was one waitress running around doing everything. Once we were seated, we waited a solid 15 more minutes before said waitress was able to make it to our table to take drink orders. A short time later, another waitress came with our drinks. Well, she ended up dumping THE ENTIRE contents of my lemonade, into my lap!!! A small amount landed on my wallet/cell phone, the seat, and the table. I was literally soaked from stomach to knees. The waitress was humiliated and kept saying oh my god as she frantically tried to clean it up off the table. She even offered to tell us she was just helping and on break. Our waitress came by a short time later and asked "are you okay?" Let see here NO IM NOT, IM COVERED IN LEMONADE!! She took our food order and disappeared. We waited another 30mins to get our food. I can honestly say, it was the worst food ever! My daughter took one bite of her burger and spit it out, said it tastes like the patty was covered in sugar, the turkey on my sandwich was cooked on the griddle perhaps, but it was hard as a rock and tasted weird, and my husbands eggs were not cooked through! I sat for an hour at that table, covered in lemonade, eating an awful dinner, with terrible service. The least they could have done for that spill, was a discount on our food! NOPE! This might be the most horrible service I have experienced on this Dennys location and I usually patronage them from time to time for so many years. Ordered a cobb salad for lunch and it takes about half an hour to wait for my order. Even seated at the bar and no one even bother to give me a napkin or silverware, I have to asked another server to hand it to me. 30 minutes no water. 20 minutes just to get the waitress to take drink order. I thought they only had 2 servers( I was wrong many servers) so I was patient. When I got up to ask for water the response was that she was making our drinks. I ask again please for some water and was told one second. So I did what I should have done I got my family of 7 up and proceeded over to Jack in the Box. It's one thing being busy and another no organizing your time. The greeter could have and should have brought water if they noticed we still had no service within 10 minutes. We have eaten here over 10 times and when they are busy don't go.
