So this is the second time in the morning that we've gone to Denny's and it's always dirty in there and it's the same waitress well long story short I went in and I am injured so I asked for a private table because I didn't really want to be like in a crowded space because of my injuries and she put me in a table in the middle of a crowded space when there was other tables that were not occupied and more private Second I ordered my food and I got a double hamburger I ordered it plain with just meat and cheese and my family ordered as well long story short my food came out last and it was wrong it had all kinds of toppings on it that I didn't order and my son was missing his bacon so I let the waiter know got my burger was messed up mind you this is probably over $14 for the plate I had and so she took the plate box they scraped off the toppings and gave me back the same burger and what bothered me was what if I was allergic to one of the items on the plate and it was still dripped onto it and I would have got sick another thing is I still have like toppings underneath it so that's how I knew it was the same Burger they didn't make me a fresh one and second my son never got his side that he ordered and they were missing some other sides that my friend had ordered so instead of her giving me a discount for the mistake and the problems that came with my food not only that it was cold she gave my friend extra food for free extra country fried steak and charged him less money but charged my meal full price and did not fix it so I ended up with cold food that didn't taste well that I totally didn't order and I wouldn't recommend going in the morning so I don't know if this is a problem in the afternoon but in the morning this is the second time that we've gone in the food just wasn't right it was really really dirty today tables everything and the waitress just wasn't listening at all to me she would say okay but would do the exact opposite of everything I asked and mind you we paid probably over $40 for this order and the food just wasn't fresh hopefully this won't happen again but if I were in Camarillo again I would prefer IHOP over Denny's because I don't know if the morning service is very good the night time service I know nothing about but I just know that the few times I've gone in the morning have been pretty bad the service sucks the food sucks and it's unfortunate because I was excited thinking I was going to get something warm and stuff but it ended up being so bad that McDonald's sounded way better read more

The food was pretty good, considering it's Denny's. The service was ok, but excruciatingly slow. There were 10 of us total and the place was pretty empty, so we were seated right away. It took a long time for them to take our order and an even longer time to get our food. It shouldn't take 40 minutes for our food to come out especially considering how few people were dining. We also ordered dessert afterwards and it took them 20 minutes to make and deliver two milk shakes. From the time we got there to the time we left, it was about two hours where in comparison, to other similar restaurants like Red Robin, we're usually in and out in about 75 minutes. I wanted a burger and I didn't really feel like waiting a long time at In 'n' Out since it was close to 10 pm. I went to Denny's since I knew it was open late. I should not have. I ordered a build-your-own burger. All I wanted was no pickle, no tomato but mayo on it and american cheese. My server didn't write anything down and after I gave her my order, she came back and asked me whether I wanted Swiss cheese. I told her American. When my burger came, I got tomato AND pickles plus NO Mayo. Luckily the pickles and tomato weren't burned in, so I could just remove them. Three quarters into my burger, my waitress came and asked me how was it. I told her how incorrect my order was. She said whether she could bring me mayo on the side. With me being three quarters in, it was no use, so I told her no. On top of that, she didn't ask whether I wanted a refill on my lemonade. Okay, it's a friggen Denny's don't expect the absolute best anything from here. But DO expect more than you actually would at any other Denny's. I actually had a great experience and I can honestly say they probably have the best service during the week and during the day. Our waitress was nice and got our orders placed quickly.. This place needs a thorough cleaning. There is a distinctive dirty mop odor that can be smelled through the entire place. A strong urine smell can be detected several feet before entering the ladies room which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. There was a thick layer of liquid soap on the counter and mirror. Completely disgusting. Although there were very few customers, my prime rib sandwich was overcooked and burned in some areas. It looked like it had been cooked on a dirty grill. My glass of water came with an ant in it. The service was decent and the waitress was polite. I think if they cleaned this place from top to bottom it would go a long way to earning better reviews. The experience was awful, the waitress was rude. I was not going to step foot in any Denny's, however, my friends said my experience didn't represent what the general service at Denny's. My friend had a birthday early this month, we decided to give Denny's a chance. We chose a different location and we had a great experience at this Denny's. The staff seemed a bit rude tonight. I get it, it was a friday night and it gets busy. I usually meet my son's dad (who lives 4+ hrs away from me) in the evening at some Denny's bc it's only thing opened for our custody switcheroo. I have a toddler, so traveling in the evening is best for us and we need a break from traveling 2+ hours one of the waitresses had a hot plate and seemed annoyed my almost 2 y.o was running back and forth from his dad who was near the register to me sitting at our booth. he was in the path she took, however, she should have been more efficient, saw my child was in that same path, thought ahead, and went around. she annoyingly said "this plate is hot" without an "exscuse me". it wasn't in safety for my child but because she was holding too much for her to handle and it was like she was hinting for me to pull my child away. it's the waiters' job to make sure everyone has a good experience, after all, most work on getting tipped well. plus, no one asked if we needed anything else or checked up on us. I have a toddler and need napkins! I know it gets annoying and my child should be sleeping at that hour but there's reason. when serving, customers should come first, regardless. I guess I've been to other Denny's and can compare but they were not welcoming here at all. they hurry to seat you, hurry to take your order, and dont seem to open up; they might as well have been robots. and the fact that I work in customer service myself, it's very hard not to compare. this location was convenient for me bc it was closer but I think I'd rather drive a little further for better service. it is a bigger and busier than other dennys I've been to but I didn't get a good vibe here. read more

So understanding that Denny's is a step above a greasy spoon, I've been to greasy spoons and truck stops that rate 5 stars in comparison. The family and I went in for lunch on Saturday. We were seated in a timely manner, and then it all went downhill from there. We were never approached by the waitress for even a drink order to get started. Instead, she was holding a conversation with the family behind us about her future aspirations in the field of sociology. This went on for about fifteen minutes. After completing her discussion, she then went to go get boxes and travel cups for their meals. Never once did she acknowledge us. We waited about ten to fifteen minutes and decided that our money would be better spent elsewhere. This is quite disappointing. It seems that the management has spent good money in order to revamp and modernize its restaurant, however, kept in place the wait staff who are lackadaisical or just don't know how a restaurant is run. Suffice to say, on our way out, my wife informed the manager of what had happened and now I write this review. Well if you are in this town and you want a sit down place with a cheap menu and food that will eventually cause a bowel movement this place is it. BUT,AVOID THIS PLACE AT NIGHT. The service sucks. The damn thing was "built" upside down. The shredded lettuce,tomato and pickle were on the bottom then the burger and then the top of the bun. Who the heck eats a burger like that??? The pickles and tomato were stacked on top of each other!!!! WTF. After sorting it out as much as possible which include just not bothering to transfer the shredded lettuce , I took a bite. If they had fried the cardboard box the meat came in it would have tasted better. No seasonings, none what so ever. The cook was in such a hurry he smashed the meat pattie down which caused any juices to run out and leaving the meat dry and tasteless. After chocking it down though the fries were actually very good,I got my check and went to pay. Handing my card to the manger he asked if I wanted to include a tip on the card. Looking at him with contempt ,I said ,"I will give you a tip,don't eat here at night, the cook should not be one, staff should contemplate a change in occupation and gender, and the service sucked!" Not only is the server transgendered but the person who cleans the tables and washes the dishes is too! At least they provided some semblance of amusement and entertainment. Horrible! After many years I finally talked my husband into eating at Denny's, as I had never eaten here before. The place was filthy and the food was disappointing. My husband had bacon and eggs so he doesn't have any real complaint other than he wanted to go to Brent's. My pancakes were cold and dry and the worst thing about them was that they had dried grilled onions stuck on the from the griddle. I don't know why Denny's gets such a bad rap. Ya, it ain't no Wolfgang Puck's, but I think they represent a pretty decent value. The food is generally pretty decent & tasty. I find coupons in the mailers for 15% off the total bill, buy two meals & two drinks, get one meal free, etc. I come here often enough w/ friends. Can't beat the $2 $4 $6 $8 value options that they have. The $2 Pancake Puppies sundae is a tasty treat. If I had to sum it up, I'd say, "Denny's: Not as nasty as they say, & pretty darn OK."
