The Manger Fatima. Tim GOBI, and Athina!
    Tim G.

I came on Easter Sunday before the breakfast rush! The ambience was nice, subtle and inviting. We were greeted with big smiles from Athina who seated me and was very Kind. Next came my server Dina a beautiful lady who is very nice and Totally Professional. The food was hot and tasty and served in a very timely fashion. Last but not least the manager. Fatima interacted with me and showed me why she is indeed in charge! All in All it was indeed a Great Adventure!

The food was amazing and the waitress was kind and nice! Please come here and bring your family for food!!!

This visit was for my son and his gf graduating Monterey Bay

It seemed as though there were about 10-12 tables inside, and all the employees work with one another to wait on the tables. We showed up around 10:45am on a Saturday morning, and to our surprise there was no wait. We were sat immediately and ordered a cappuccino and Arnold Palmer to drink. Then, I ordered the Salmon Benny with home potatoes, while my partner ordered the Churro waffle combo. It did take about half an hour to get our food, but it was well worth how fresh everything tasted. My salmon benny came on an everything bagel with cream cheese, and the salmon was served cold (in a delicious/ good way, not like it was frozen. I just wanted to make a note of this because usually when eating a salmon benedict the salmon gets warm from the temperature of the english muffin and egg). Then, the home potatoes had onions, and bell peppers and I kept commenting on how fresh the bell peppers tasted. My partner had the churro waffle with eggs, sausage and bacon. They really nailed the churro flavor of the waffle. Both our plates were completely devoured with no leftovers to take home. For our two drinks, two entrees (and the added combo to the churro waffle) it ended up being $53, which we found to be extremely reasonable for the quality, portion size, and service provided. The only thing I would mention was the parking lot gets a little crowded. They share a parking lot with the other stores in the plaza, and there were several spots open only because there were a lot of bigger cars who were over the line. No fault to the restaurant itself, just something to be aware of.

I decided to try it out since I'm not really a fan of Starbucks coffee and wanted to see if this shop's coffee would be any better. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean the shop was and how much comfortable space there was to sit, chill, and relax. I was greeted right away by the staff, and they were so warm and friendly. Big plus for being cheerful so early in the morning, because I'm usually cranky at that hour, so approachable people truly make a difference. I used their self-ordering kiosk, which I always appreciate. I like being able to take my time looking through the menu without feeling like I'm holding up a line or taking up an employee's time. I ended up ordering the horchata latte, but I was honestly impressed by the variety of drinks on the menu. My order was ready within five minutes, and my drink was actually pretty good. I don't usually drink lattes these days, but I'm very picky about drip coffee because a lot of places make it taste burnt. So I figured I'd try a latte instead and give this place a fair shot. For my first time trying San Fernando Coffee Co., I was impressed. I mostly stopped in because the location was convenient and I had an appointment nearby, but I'd definitely consider coming back if I'm in the area again.

The layers were perfectly balanced--you get that earthy matcha hit followed by a sweet, creamy blueberry finish that actually tastes like shortcake rather than just syrup. The ambiance is super chill and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out for a bit. Service was quick and the staff was friendly, which really rounds out the 5-star experience. Definitely a standout spot in Santa Clarita if you're looking for creative specialty drinks.

You're drawn in by the familiar, comfortable design featuring mirrored signs with writing in Victorian style fonts that continue onto the menus. They have marble tables and counters, with comfortable chairs, and lots of light coming in through the windows. The staff is all smiles and very welcoming, happy to help you navigate the very interesting bill of fare, and making sure your cocktail is made exactly as you like. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, and James took excellent care of me from start to finish. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Martini with Olives; James immediately offered regular or blue cheese-stuffed olives, and asked if I preferred the martini shaken or stirred. The drink that emerged was well-balanced, cold and very tasty. The menu is filled with all sorts of interesting choices. Some are familiar items like salads and fishes and hamburgers or cheesesteak sandwiches done in their way -- but my eye immediately went to a very unique starter: Duck Fat Potato Confit. Say what? As James explained, it is a whole potato that has been slow cooked in duck fat (confit, as we know) and served as the main attraction in the dish as one might similarly feature a duck leg or short rib. I had to order this, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding dishes I've eaten in a long time. The aforementioned, slow-cooked potato initially appears a bit like a whole boiled potato, but looks are deceiving. Because of the cooking method, the potato holds it's consistency and shape much more than a boiled or baked potato, cutting almost like a protein. It's solid but tender, and as it has absorbed quite a bit of flavor during the cooking, this potato is far tastier on its own than those other iterations. But you are NOT eating this potato unadorned. Oh no, this potato is dressed with caramelized onions, smoky bacon lardons, wild mushrooms and a rich, very flavorful demi-glace. All together, you've layers upon layers of flavor that make you ignore all distractions and really concentrate on the pleasure you're getting from your food. But that's not all... Perhaps the cleverest element of a dish composed entirely of clever elements is the Mornay Sauce. Snow white, and with enough of just the right cheese to add texture to the Bechemel without becoming too powerful, the sauce is plated on the bottom, with the potato resting atop it. Visually, this looks like mashed potatoes served underneath a protein, and it plays the same role texturally -- but because you wouldn't serve potatoes with a potato, the sauce is a lighter accompaniment, whose flavor marries perfectly with the more complex sauce coming from above, and you cannot help but marvel at this stroke of culinary magic. Just wow. I finished with a dessert of Key Lime Budino, which was rich and creamy with a serious hit of sour from the Key Lime. A nice and refreshing shift after the savory richness of my entree. How lucky are the people of Newhall and Santa Clarita that they have a restaurant making such interesting and excellent food? I come up at least once a month for a music event, and how lucky am I to have discovered this place to eat beforehand? And by the way: if you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is really less than 30 minutes away (without traffic), so the next time you're thinking of going over the hill to a place in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica, you may want to head North instead. I promise you, The Old Town Junction will become your new favorite.

We ordered the Flying Fried sandwich, avocado toast, and waffles with eggs. The "Fly Sauce" tasted like a basic spicy mayo, the eggs were dry, the brioche bun was dry as well, and the waffles tasted stale. The avocado toast was probably the biggest disappointment; it just wasn't enjoyable at all. I always try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but for the price point, the quality simply wasn't there. Nothing tasted fresh or memorable, and we left feeling underwhelmed. Based on our experience, I don't see what makes this place stand out in a city with so many breakfast options. On the positive side, the staff was kind and welcoming, which is why I'm giving credit where it's due. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but unfortunately, the food was very mediocre.
