6 Stars! Hands down - Best Denny's experience I've ever had. The waitress was super nice, the service was fast and on point, and the food was great. What impressed me the most was that the owner was walking around to greet guests, ask how we're doing and to thank us for being here. When's the last time you saw an owner of a franchise walking around, let alone even in the restaurant. Do not eat at this location. If I could give this place negative stars I would! We ordered through the yelp app which took us to the Denny's online ordering website. We completed the order and my card was charged. We waited the 20 minutes that the confirmation email stated. We get to the restaurant and was told they don't have any online orders. They kept asking if we ordered through doordash, which we kept having to tell them no, it's through the Dennys website. The manager Victor took the confirmation number in the back without communicating what he was doing and we were waiting for another 20 minutes until I got fed up and asked the waitress Teresa (absolutely rude and incompetent) to let the manager know I would like to speak to him. She just rabbled, talking back that he is in he back and couldn't do anything. After reiterating that I do not care what he is doing in the back, I would like to speak to him. She did not go into the back right away. She spoke to another waitress where they both looked back at me and laughed. Absolutely unprofessional and rude. After victor came back, he said he found my order and he did not know why it didn't get sent to the chef. He said we would have to wait another 15 minutes to get our food. I told him I don't want the food, it's an inconvenience, he did not communicate what was going on and the customer service is terrible. He had zero sense of urgency. He did not mind that we ordered at 9:45pm and now the time is nearing 11:00 pm! We would have waited over an hour to get our food. We ordered online and expected to pick it up at the designated time. I told him I want the payment to be voided out and he couldn't even do that. All he did was take my name and number down and said he would take care of it the next day. So now I'm leaving with a $93 dollar order on my card, no food and feeling disrespected. This establishment is the worst I've ever been at. Save your money and go to another restaurant. I had to call their corporate office that had to void the payment which will take 3-5 business days and their lack of customer service skills and complete disregard for the issue is absolutely unbelievable. I could not rely on the manager to ensure my payment was voided out which is ridiculous. I will not go to another Denny's because of this issue. I don't understand how they try to blame this issue on their customers and do not take ownership and resolve the problem. read more

Yesterday I wanted to take my friends Sam & Sean to breakfast. My friend Sam insisted we go to Denny's in Cordelia because the food is always good & the service is even better. When we got there, they were very busy. We were seated quickly & told by our waitress Shirley that she would be right with us. I watched her move quickly from table to table, always friendly as she spoke to each guest. When she came to us she was friendly & had a great knowledge of the menu. When our food came out, my friend asked for salsa on the side. Shirley had served him before & had already anticipated his request. Sam was right, the food was good but the professionalism & personal touch from Shirley made us feel like we were having breakfast at a friend's house rather than a restaurant. Last week I came in for some lunch and Lynne was our server, it was a bit busy but she was working hard to get everyone seated and get drinks out quick. Lynne was so attentive to everyone wants and needs in such a busy time, she was smiling and very happy the entire time. She checked up on us and made sure everything was right. With how busy they were I was surprised with how quick she was getting everyone's food out. This was by far the best experience I've had at Denny's so far and I've bin to plenty of Denny's restaurants in different towns all around and I want thank LYNNE for the best experience. It Felt very homey and welcoming in there since the time I walked in the door. I will definitely keep coming back. Food was perfect but the awesome experience our server Lynne gave us really put a smile on my face and made me very happy. I want to thank her once again because she truly deserves it. I live in the Fairfield area but I do not mind driving twenty minutes for the great customer service experience. read more

If you ever plan on calling this location to place a to-go order, good luck. They will NOT pick up the phone and if they do, they will pick up the phone pretending they can't hear you and hang up on you. I decided to walk in and call them. The manager went towards the phone, looked at it and walked away as I was sitting at the counter. LOL! Now I know why people rate this location the way they do. Poor customer service. read more

I eat at this Denny's fairly frequently, probably 2x a week. The food is what I expected, simple family restaurant cuisine and of course excellent breakfast food. This Denny's has 3 things that make it a bit above other Denny's: 1) Excellent service from Teresa and Shirley (and the other am lady is great too!) 2) A game room with hook machines and other things my daughter likes! 3) Fast service and ample Diet Coke refills. The negatives are simple: 1) Too much yelling and pretending he speaks Spanish around the grill by the tall male waiter, too loud it is audible all over the place! 2) A limited lunch/dinner menu, lacking creativity and taste, I love breakfast but the lunch/dinner part is hard to find a choice 3) Denny's dropped from their menu Tsing Tsing chicken an awesome appetizer that was like a good Chili's or Applebee's dish. Overall it is good but some tweaking would help the overall taste and experience. read more

The staff just seemed like they would rather be anywhere else but there. We waited way to long to be seated (or even noticed) our waitress was pleasant enough I suppose. Our table ordered a T-bone steak and a sirloin steak, both over cooked. The food I guess was otherwise decent enough since we were super hungry. I don't recommend this place. If your traveling through, keep driving the extra 10 minutes until you get to the Fairfield Denny's. read more

Horrible service!!! Last night 3 of my family members and myself stopped by for a late night snack on our way home from an evening out at about 11pm.The restaurant was basically empty, maybe 3 tables had people in them. It took a better part of 10 minutes to be seated. Then once we were seated we were almost immediately greeted by our waitress and asked if we were ready to order... Mind you we had only been seated by the same waitress maybe 2 minutes earlier... The food was not the best, my Daughter on-law ordered salmon that was dry and fishy, my Wife had the fit slam which was over cooked and tasted bland like it came out of a box, my stepson hand no complaints about his chicken fried steak, and I had a skillet that was mainly potatoes that should have been mashed. When I asked for salsa to put on my skillet I was greeted with a look of disgust... To make the experience worse when the bill was paid the lady working the counter ran my wife's card twice and acted like she didn't. After I approached the lady about what had happened there was no apology simply a dirty look like I had done something wrong by catching the mistake or for catching her trying to steal from is... Went in about 6pm,not very crowded. We were seated within 3-4 minutes. She said she would be right back to take our order. Almost 10 minutes later she was back to take our order. Food did come out fairly quickly. Never came back to see how the food was and if we needed anything. The restaurant was not even half full. We gave up on getting our receipt and went up to the cash register. We waited a good 5 minutes before someone came to help us. OK, I know, It's Denny's, what was I expecting--right? Well, I was expecting a half-decent breakfast in a relatively clean setting. None of that happened. My coffee was served in a dirty cup, the creamer dish had empty creamers in it from another table, and my breakfast looked like a deflated version of the picture. The table was STICKY. Went do Dennys for a Christmas dinner with my handicap father in law, my husband and our one year old daughter. We arrived and they sat us with no menus and no one asked us what we wanted to drink. After about 15 minutes of just sitting there I went up to ask for the menus. 30 minutes later we are able to finally flag someone down to take our order( still no one has asked us what we wanted to drink) we order drinks and our food at this time. They brought my daughters apple juice fairly quick and some crackers for her. But no drinks for us. After about 30 more minutes of no drinks or food and seeing many of the workers just sitting around on their phones, we all left and didn't eat there. My daughters was hungry and getting very bored. I went home and made a sandwich for us and mac and cheese for my daughter. The old dennys was fairly good and quick service. This experience was the absolute worst. This review is for LYNNE I came here after doing a 48 hr shift my hair was nappy I wore a hooded sweater to meet my Fiancé who is a truck driver and was passing through town so he also looked hot and sweaty but we were greeted with the warmest smile and sweetest spirit Lynne !! She was so prompt with every single table everyone had hot food fresh coffee and she checked on us several times I mean several!! We had a hot amazing breakfast in under 30 minutes and what we enjoyed most was being serviced by Lynne upon leaving the manager (Hispanic male) was very short did not speak much and gave us a very uncomfortable look when paying but he was also on top of things assisting Lynne and monitoring tables! I would come back again and again if it meant Lynne would be our server !! I tipped almost half of what we paid for Our meal because we truly enjoyed being accepted and treated equal as a mixed race minority couple we constantly deal with ignorance and judgement and looks but we felt very comfortable here and can't wait to come back !!! I go to this Dennys fairly often as it's big and we don't have to wait for seating at brunch. There are two waitresses who have both been there a long time and they are great, consistently good service from them. However, the place is just run down, and it makes me sad. Booths are torn, worn and flat. The carpet is horrendous, and I have only used the scary bathroom once. Never again. Food is usually good, but I went last week and my fries and grilled sandwich were undercooked, lukewarm and disappointing. read more

Might be the best restaurant in Cordelia..of course, there aren't any "real" restaurants in Cordelia, just chain fast food places, besides this place, so it isn't much of a distinction. And on second thought, the Del Taco across the street might be better, and in any case cheaper. But anyway, we went here as we were in the area and the kid was famished, and we saw that kids eat free sign (saved us $4!)..the place is clean, and if the food was as good as it looks in their splendid menus this would be a 4 star review...sadly, the food is Denny's, so it's more like "mmmph"..edible, fills your stomach, but not memorable, except in a slightly unpleasant way...On a side note, service by Polish waitress Anna was very cordial and efficient. read more

My wife and I travel quite a bit, and we usually eat at Denny's often. The food is good and predictable. The only downfall is service; you never know what you are gonna get. We was here for one day, and had lunch one day and breakfast the next. Lunch was on Father's Day Sunday, and the place was packed. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and of course service was very slow. We seemed to wait ages and I was ready to eat my own limb before we got our food. Breakfast the next day was different but the same. There was only 8-10 people there and the server was able to check up on us frequently...but...we still had to wait an unusually long amount of time for our food, so the problem apparently is behind the grill. The food itself was the standard, normal Denny's food. Not bad, not great, but good for what it was. read more

Came here to get some quick breakfast and quick was not what they were. I ordered the $8 chicken fried steak with the grilled potatoes, the chicken was dry and not tasty at all. Plus the gravy that they had on it tasted like it was from the can. My girlfriend got the grand slam and was pretty decent, she didn't like the taste of the sausage, she said it tasted as if they were microwaved and also the buttermilk pancakes were a huge let down. I would give them 0 stars on this visit if not for a good omelette and the factvthat Da Kidd enjoyed his cheeseburger and apple dippers. Otherwise service was crap. Coffee came after meal, fries came after burger and sourdogh toast never came at all to eat with my meal. I had to refill my water with a water bottle i had in my purse. Told the manager that i didnt receive my toast, he gave me a "sorry ma'am ". We waited for to go boxes and my toast for over 10 minutes and ended up just walking out leaving the server no tip for her no service. She was too busy socializing and leaning on counters. We used to go to the old Denny's next door and loved it. Shortly after the new one opened we decided to try it. It was horrible... Our waitress seemed like she didn't even want to be there, took our order then disappeared, I had to flag down another waitress to get our drinks. Our food sat in the pickup window for 15 minutes, I finally went to get it myself when our waitress showed up and told me, "It's ok, it's under a heat lamp." Well it wasn't ok, it was hot and soggy. yuck. It took forever to get cashed out. We swore we'd never go back. Fast forward 9 months to last Friday. We decided to give it another try... Different waitresses, ours was fantastic and super friendly. We ordered pot roast and a pot roast melt sandwich... they were delivered fast and both meals were delicious! Reliable local greasy spoon with healthy options. Serves the I80 traffic and locals from the neighborhood. Good service, clean, well run. It is approaching an end of a lease, so neither the landlord nor the tenant are going to renovate now - look at the picture above cash register, that's going to be the new one build next door. To all the complainers - you are eating at better than average Denny's, so to expect high dining is a bit foolish. It is what it is, which is reliable greasy spoon with healthy options. Would recommend - I visited alone quite a few times with nothing to complain about and few times with bigger groups, always accommodated and served well. Solid 3 stars. read more

Terrible customer service. This isn't the first time I ordered from this establishment and the order was no where to be found. The first time it was through door dash and the second time it was directly through the website. They had no sense of urgency to get our order put in and the ladies in the front thought it was a joke. It was really inconvenient because we expected our order to be ready by a certain time and it was a school night and it was already late with our small children at home. There was little to no communication on the status of the order and by the time we did get the status of it, we didn't even want the food anymore. They couldn't even tell us if we could get a refund for it since we prepaid. So they not only wasted our time today, they will waste more time to make sure we get a refund on our money on another day. I would not recommend coming here and I will not come back. read more

The food was fine but the service was not at all. My coffee cup had a red lipstick stain. Told the waitress and she apologized. Brought back another cup and still had some! We told her again and she denied it was that stating that it was some debris. But it was obviously leftover lipstick. So she dragged for another and came back with a third cup, this one VERY clean but she rudely stood and stared at my husband and told us to check it to see if we were now satisfied. Later on she tried to make up for it but instead messed up more by complaining about how she left a Mexican restaurant once and I stared at my husband. "Does she not realize that we're Mexican?" We all know what Denny's food tastes like- pretty mediocre. So the questions come down to cleanliness, convince and service. This Denny's is relatively clean and the restaurant is pretty large - so never really a long wait. The owner is very nice and makes his rounds asking how your breakfast tastes. The waitress's have always been polite. Not a bad choice if you're passing through the area. read more
