This Denny's can be a hit or miss when you arrive. I usually come here during the evenings so I am not sure of the flow of breakfast or lunch but I imagine it to be pretty crowded and packed since they are pretty smart about giving deals. The owner or manager seems to always be there! Poor guy lol. However he is very polite and I usually get seated right away. Now the servers can be a hit or miss. Sometimes you get the sweet and kind but slow servers or the quick ones that barely pay attention to you. That can be quite annoying. Food here is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. I do enjoy the bbq chicken, burgers and some of the breakfast items. Chicken fried steak is delicious! Also check out their meal deals. This local will have some on the table but not on each one so take the time to look around. Sometimes their deals are worth it. Like if you are a pancake lover, get the unlimited pancakes for $4? On our way to Reno in dead stop traffic, decided to pull over for a quick bite. We were sorted quickly, and our server Teresa was really nice. Food was mediocre to say the least. I ordered the pot roast and it looked like slop in a bowl. Eh oh well. Here's the thing that really annoyed me - where we were seated, we were right next to a glass window facing into the next dinning area.... There was an employee in there with I'm guessing his son, maybe about 7 years old. After the employee finished his meal he went back off to work and left the kid to bug the hell out of us for the remainder of our meal. Now, don't get me wrong, I did feel a little bad that the employee obviously didn't have childcare for his son that's why he was there - but this kid banged and knocked on the window trying to get the attention of my little girls. At one point my daughter even asked him to stop. One time he banged so hard that even the manager walked over and asked him to stop. That lasted all of about 5 minutes!!!!! This is a good dennys. Been coming here for 15 plus years. The service is really good. The food always comes out fast and hot. There are at least 3 Denny's in Fairfield. 2 of them are closer to where I live than this one. What keeps me coming back to this one is the service. Everyone is super nice and they check on you regularly to make sure you are doing well. I actually come in to this Denny's hoping Lynne will be my server. She is so sweet and she is a great server. WARNING! TRAVELER ALERT! There is nothing wrong with the restaurant, but there is a thief breaking into cars in the parking lot - especially cars that have out of state plates. When the police came to take the report since it was over $500, she mentioned "It happens a couple of times a week here".If you look around there was broken auto glass all over the place. The waitress said the same thing. I asked her that since it was so common, why don't they stake it out and bust them. Her reply was "we are too busy". So in a sense, breaking into your car has become "legal". There is no investigation, just a report for you to turn into your insurance company. Denney's should demand the police put a stop to it. We came here for a fathers day lunch today which we knew would be some what busy. At first we weren't to happy because it took 20 minutes after being seated that one of the waitress came to us and said she would come right back. Then stopped by two other times stating she would be right back. Took the order of a table who was seated after us which didn't make it any better. Then a gentleman name Tyler T came to take our drink and food order. Had it not been for him I would easily be rating our experiance today a 2. He was very polite, apologized for any wait, he was professional and kept a smile on his face despite how busy it was. For someone like himself to have a positive attitude during a busy rush like that in any food restaurant is not common in my experiances anywhere. About two weeks ago my boyfriend and I went to this particular Denny's. For beginners we are African Americans that live here in Cordelia. The waitress was an older lady with horrible waitressing skills. If been to Denny's enough to know that the waitresses/ waiters ask if the food is ok and she walked past us about 5 times. She asked everyone around us if everything was fine, but only came to our table twice. One to ask if the food was ok, and the next was to issue the bill. If I'm not mistaken by reading the reviews, I believe that her name is Shirley. To make a long story short, when we received our food it was cold. I have never been to a Denny's where my food was cold, EVER. Secondarily our glasses were FILTHY, and third there was hair in my food. Instead of complaining I've come to yelp to write a review. Where do I start.... *We weren't greeted as we came in. *Waited to be seated although the place was close to empty (10:30 PM). *Waited to have someone take our order after browsing for a while. Staff were at the bar with what it seemed to be a staffing issue. *My daughter had a hiccup and waitress said "you need water" and didn't bring water; not until we asked later. *Waitress was coughing. *Was falling asleep waiting for our food...it took so long. *Had to ask for utensils when we received our food. I've always been a fan of Denny's. For years I've relied on any number of Denny's to provide Simple, old fashioned comfort food. Never any great expectations but almost always satisfied. Today the wife and I stopped at this Denny's for a quick bite. The waitress was friendly and brought out water. As I sipped at my water water I first noticed a strong salty or sour taste in my mouth. In the same split instant my lips began to burn. I excused myself to rinse my mouth and face in the men's room. I told the waitress that there was something caustic on the glass and explained that it burned my mouth. She got me a different water glass and asked if I was okay. I'm not going to tell you that it was sulfuric acid or that it caused 3rd degree burns but it was something highly acidic or caustic enough to leave a mild blister later. I did finish my sandwich because I was starving and that was why we stopped at Denny's in the first place. I did tip the waitress 10% because I didn't see how it was her fault and I feel sorry for anyone working in a greasy spoon like that. Now, several hours later the mouth feels okay but there is still redness on my lips where they touched the water glass. I don't know if they disinfect their glassware with Clorox or pepper spray or whatever chemicals but I will never set foot in that place again. Stopped for lunch on the way to Sacramento. We were greeted by the waitress with "two? What do you want to drink" this was on our way to the table. The 3 over 50 year old waitresses seemed to be having a personnel struggle in front of the kitchen pickup station throughout our lunch. I saw the prime rib Cobb salad and so I asked "do they serve prime rib here. (Meaning there would be real prime rib on the salad) Our quintessential blonde waitress rasped back. "No you can't order prime rib" my response "so where do they get the prime rib from for the salad?" Ms waitress "I dunno but it looks like prime rib, it's real". The dirty windows and the broken down seat cushions in the booth should have been an indicator but I took a chance and ordered the salad out of curiosity. . The prime rib was a composite rendering of beef like Arby's. The waitresses continued to grumble loudly about an invisible employee. We left there vowing to never give into an impulse to "dine" at Denny's again. My husband says he rather starve to death than stop there again. For the first time in years...I agree with him. DONT. DO IT ! If you do, take some windex and 409 in with you, and a HR specialist before you order. read more

Heard someone yell out " Dont Rush Us! We only have 2 cooks!" Thats so unprofessional! By the time we got our order, we were missing so many items.. Seems like the more we ask for our missing order the more attitude we were getting.. And saw them whispering to each other and looked our way.. wow so time to gossip too?.. Then she was trying to fit 3 big containers in one bag and just pushed it in to fit and made one packet of the syrup to pop and got the bottom of the bag all sticky!! So we asked for more syrup because come on we have 6 pancakes and we only can have 2?. Asked for extra and just gave us 1 more?. Wow like are you serious?? Other server didnt even bother to see if we needed anything instead they just look away to avoid us.. Management saw us having an issue with our order but yet didnt even step up to help us.. The worst ever. Took a bite Raw chicken sandwich. Waitress showed Manager who shrugged his shoulders. Took to kitchen and they recooked the same piece of meat in the next 15 minutes. Everyone else was done eating when I received mine. Dinner discounted $3.88. I went to pay and while I stood at the register the manager picked up the phone and called in credit card/Shift change, Whatever he was doing. This took him a good 3 minutes, extremely rude. refused to honor senior discount claiming that the discount was built into the senior menu entree I ordered. the problem with that is that I had other items from the different part of the menu but they wouldn't give me my discount on any of those items either. We are 2 miles from this location, when we dined here a couple weeks ago, this place has gone down the hill. The regular manager has left. Now there are new cooks that are loud in the kitchen that can be heard through the dinning room. In addition, the cooks are playing their loud music that we could not even have a quiet dinner. Customers next to us even complained to the manager, instead of turning down the music, the cooks raised the volume. We drive 6 miles to Travis Blvd Denny's were the service are better. read more
