Food was average, portion sizes adequate. Service was fast and friendly, coffee was good. Nothing special but it hits the spot when you need a quick breakfast to start your day.

Thanksgiving lunch [Crescent City CA] Hubby and I decided to take a road trip this Thanksgiving year. We stopped by this Denny's in Crescent City and had a late lunch since most restaurants and businesses were closed (or closed early) to celebrate the holiday. Denny's (aka "America's Diner"), has more than 1600+ restaurants all over the U.S. with a big menu ranging from omelets, pancakes and crepes, to steaks and fried chicken. I just noticed that they had seafood on the menu! I ordered the Wild Alaska Salmon meal. It actually tasted pretty good! Hubby had a Build-Your-Own Grand Slam. That was our Thanksgiving meals. LoL! It was good, at least it was a hot meal. The diner was full. Service was okay, not the best. Maybe our server wasn't too happy she had to work during the holiday. Oh well. Review #3239

What a great surprise! Been seeing the adds on TV, so decided to try our local Denny's. It was very clean inside, the food was cooked perfect, there was no wait time, the presentation was great and the serving sizes were plentiful. We were amazed at the menus variety. The wait staff was attentive, but not overly so. All in all, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Great lunch spot right across from the harbor!…read more We had a nice, cozy lunch break here. The restaurant serves solid, traditional American fare with good portion sizes--everything our family ordered was tasty and filling. 1. What we ate: My husband had the California Benedict, I got the Santa Fe Scramble, and the kids ordered from the kids' menu (pancake with hard-boiled eggs, and a classic egg scramble with bacon, hash browns, and toast). Kid pancake came with scramble eggs but they acomódate my youngest request and he got hard boiled egg instead. 2. Drinks: Peach smoothie, white mocha, and regular drip coffee. They also have a full coffee bar on-site. Vibe & Tip: The decor is rustic and charmingly local, featuring indigenous artwork, antler light fixtures, and comfortable wooden chairs. The interior is a bit dated and the restrooms could use a little attention, but the atmosphere is cozy overall. Pro tip: Ask to sit upstairs for a great view of the marina! We'd definitely eat here again if we're back in the area.

Not only is the coffee drinks excellent (they use Noblehouse Coffee out of Ashland, OR), but their pastries are top notch. The cafe is a spacious place with lots of fun merch, games to play, and a nice spot to sit and work or chat with a friend. The service was great and they helped me make good choices on what to get. I couldn't resist trying one of their specialty drinks, the Maple Lavender latte with orange zest. When I went to sip this beautiful drink I also breathed in the fresh orange zest scent. This is one of the best latte's I've ever had. The flavors go together so beautifully and I wish I could have this every day. For pastries, I tried their cheddar scallion scone and their apple turnover. The cheddar scone was like no other scone over had. It was so light, cheesy and fluffy. The apple pastry was also amazing. I highly recommend stopping here if you pass through Crescent City. I would move here just so I could come to this coffee shop every day.

He said his grandmother owned a restaurant here or close by that was wiped out by the 1964 tsunami. My late lunch experience was delightful. I was greeted by the front counter staff. They handed me a menu. A sign of a good restaurant is difficult decision making. It took me a little while to decide on the shrimp salad. I asked for outside dining if possible. Just order to go and then I had my choice of picnic tables around the restaurant. I chose the south side so I could watch the surfers. While waiting the 10 minutes for my food buzzer to go off, I took pictures of the barking harbor seals, the restaurant and the beach activity. It was a sunny day. The food was to die for. A bit on the pricey side but that is to be expected for this location. No problem paying.

We ordered fried oysters , fish and chips, seafood pasta, and calamari. Soup and coleslaw were our sides. Chowder was lacking flavor and watery, definitely not worth ordering. Oysters were disgusting, they had a fishy mushy taste and you could tell they were NOT fresh catch despite being a harbor front restaurant. The fries were average, no comment. Seafood pasta was of poor quality also. The crab was overcooked and stringy/ chewy. Linguine noodles were bland also, very watered down and did not have the advertised beurre blanc sauce flavor. The asparagus accompany was also only 3 sticks and wasn't even grilled properly, an insult for a $40 pasta. Servers were also inattentive and had to be flagged down for requests. Overall, SKIP this place. Overpriced tourist trap with lackluster food, not worth the wait at all.
