This location is easy and convenient location for myself and the family. But as far as getting our food horrible. We sat down fast got our drinks - waitress took our order and that was it. For the next hr we waited for our food. We got waters for our drinks and our refill took forever AND it was refilled with flat Sprite. We ate our food and left. They offered a discount and my cheesecake they gave it to me for free. Their lucky I even left a tip after I saw our food sitting waiting for it to be picked up for 5 min. For the most part I have always enjoyed Denny's . It's not the Denny's I'm going to criticize it's the management at this particular one in Fowler . The lady that waited on me last week , Without one other customer besides myself in the entire restaurant,was preoccupied with talking to a group of coworkers at the front of the counter not particularly interested in being a welcoming face for the establishment .She finally after 10 minutes dragged herself over with the enthusiasm of someone that is just killing time slapped a menu down in front of me and then drug her self back to the counter where she continued her conversation. Poor management poor management poor management.. very obvious. That Particular Denny's right off the freeway with all the activity going on in that area , The La Quinta inn right in its parking lot, should be bustling with customers . Something is wrong and corporate needs to investigate. The establishment is clean in an excellent location but lacks managerial direction. I am a successful business woman and owner of several successful businesses. I speak from experience and it is obvious what the trouble is . Worst Denny's experience. Note to manager(s): Friday night you should have more than two servers. Restaurant full of people and not enough staff to keep up. Watched at least two families leave without their food because of more than an hour wait. We waited over 30 minutes for drinks (water) and over an hour for food. This review is not based off one incident, we visited them three separate times to see if things had improved but had the same results. The first time we were greeted and sat down fairly quickly. However we waited over 45 minutes for breakfast and there was no one there but us. The second and third time we weren't even greeted, and we had to wait around for several minutes in the cashier line to ask the cashier to put our name down. The second time they said the wait would be long but couldn't tell us how long so we ended up leaving. The last time we went no one greeted us, or asked us how many we needed a table for. Again, we asked how long the wait was and they said maybe 20 mins. There was no one physically there waiting, and there were a lot of empty tables. I would highly recommend that the management at this establishment talk and get pointers from the Selma Denny's location. It's a shame that with all the negative reviews on here, that nothing has been done to improve customer service. read more

This is probably the worst Denny's location. This is my 3rd time attempting to eat here. The first time was successful. At least I got seated in a timely manner. The food was what I expected from Denny's. It's good. But the service and wait time is horrible. My sister and I stood at the entrance waiting for someone to greet us. We waited for 10 minutes before a server came up to us and said "how many?" My sister had her baby with us and when we told her two and a high chair she said "Let me see if I can find something available for you," and walked away. We waited for about 5 more minutes with a baby getting antsy and finally decided to go somewhere else to get our breakfast. If you're in Fowler and want Denny's, go to Selma or Kingsburg. read more

Seeing that it is Christmas night and managers & employees of Denny's would like to be home with their families I would think they'd at least leave the attitude at home. I waited about 5-10 mins for seating when half of the restaurant was empty. The manager & server were sitting on the empty side of the restaurant laughing their phones. After being seated I waited about 5 mins to get a drink order. Finally received our drinks and no utensils to stir coffee no napkins either. When I asked the manager for a silverware she cut me off saying "I know I know wait a minute" my coffee was cold by the time I actually got to stir my creamer into it. She was so rude. I get it's Christmas but why be so rude especially if you are the manager. The manager is an older lady blonde hair glasses. This establishment should be the standard for all Denny's. I was greeted quickly, sat down, served a piping hot cup of coffee, then within 12 minutes already had my food sizzling on my table. I ordered the Santa Fe Skillet and it exceeded my expectations. The cool at this Denny's also properly modified my meal to my liking. The manager even came by to ask how my meal was. I love this place, it's usually my go to Denny's. However, that's probably changed today. My friends and I went and realized after 35 min. that we hadn't ordered or gotten our drinks yet. The people who worked there were helping everyone else but us. Even the party that arrived after us had drinks and their food was already on the way when we decided to leave. Was definitely impressed with this Denny's! Where promptly greeted by Daniel who said he would be right with us. There was a large party and maybe five other tables and appeared to be only one server; we thought maybe we would leave because we figured it would take forget to get our food. Just then Daniel seats us and asks if he can start us off with drinks, he was friendly and smelled great. We got our order of club sandwich, pancakes, and a French toast meal. I must say that I do tend to get grossed out by diner and fast food restaurants; just figuring everything is greasy and not the most sanitary. Not at all here; everything was clean and fresh tasting. And although Daniel was busy and handling the entire restaurant our service was great. I've given this place many many chances and it's always something .. specially management there's always someone different, there's 1 or two that were really nice and helped but as of today seriously she walks in and out from the back but doesn't even offer to help with drinks... what does she get paid for to stare at paperwork or eat In the office!! We arrived at this Denny's at about 7am. We were the only customers for about 10 minutes. We put in our order and waited. It took about 15 minutes for my husband's meal to arrive, minus the pancakes that were supposed to be a part of the meal. About 5 minutes later, a customer that came in after us received his meal. My breakfast arrived about 10 minutes later. I had ordered the Grand Slamwich, which was made up of two scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, bacon, shaved ham and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread. The maple spice spread was no where to be found. As my husband finished his meal, he reminded the waitress that his pancakes had not arrived yet. About 5 minutes later, the manager arrived and asked us if everything was okay. We told her we were waiting for pancakes. She said okay and left. About 3 minutes later, she brought us the check. I looked at it and said it was unacceptable. We still had not gotten our pancakes. She said she'd take care of it. By take care of it, she meant a 15% discount on the tab. When we were seated there was 3 employees working on Friday night around 10ish pm. As soon as we placed our order a new waitress came and said she would be taking care of us, which is fine but she looked very stressed and not happy. Well we found out why because the other 2 employees left and she was the only one working! Come on its friday there shouldnt be only one person working, because of that her personality was not there and because the poor girl had to do everything people were leaving because she couldnt get to them in time. The cooks here need to be retrained or new cooks need to be hired. When people cook how they feel it always shows through their cooking. Well let me tell you the cooks here that night there cooking showed all of us that they wanted us to never come back and that is what they got. Our 2 girls ordered the dino nuggets (Which mind you we all know is something they can microwave) the nuggets came out almost cold with really long ugly fries slapped onto a plate. We ordered blueberry banana pancakes and instead we were just given banana pancakes. We asked our waitress very nicely if she could ask them to make blueberry banana pancakes since thats what we ordered. The cook i could hear complaining and the worse part i heard the waitress telling the cook how to make a blueberry pancake! It was a huge mistake having them take back the pancakes to remake it because it took 25 minutes for them to come back with pancakes and you could just tell that they scraped off all of the banana toppings from the first pancake they gave us and they pushed blueberries through the bottom of the pancakes. Now how I know this is because we have all had blueberry pancakes where the blueberries are cooked in between the batter and evenly distributed throughout the pancake, our pancake looked like someone just pushed five blueberries through the bottom and then gave it back to us because there was no way that was a fresh cooked pancake. On top of that my boyfriend ended up getting slight food poisoning because that was the only thing that he had ate all day so someone needs to go back there and inspect how they're doing everything because he should not be getting food poisoning from eating breakfast foods. I do not recommend anyone eating at this Dennys I recommend if you're hungry just hop on the freeway and drive 5 minutes north until you see the next Dennys and try that one out.  This place is not worth your time, this place is not worth your money and this place will definitely make you sick with their food. I don't know what's going on but someone needs to do something because based on all of these reviews this has been going on for a very long time! I even called the manager this morning to complain and even though she was being very sweet and saying that she's never heard any complaints and she's really sorry based off of the Google reviews I know that they've been hearing stuff so someone needs to step up and do something or people need to be fired and new people need to be rehired because this is not how a restaurant should be. This is the worse dinning experience I've had in awhile nothing is worse than wishing you never ate somewhere and I feel like i shouldn't have had to pay for what i paid for, instead they should have paid me and everyone else that went there for that ridiculous and horrible experience! read more

Freezing COLD! I usually work a few weeks every fall near Fowler and I have had major issues with this Denny's being cold more often than not. 2 years ago it was 60 deg F inside the restaurant(75 outside) and the A/C was blowing full blast 2 nights it a row despite my repeated requests to turn the temp up or shut off the A/C. Ended up meeting with the regional manager after the employees repeatedly claimed the health department 'requires' it to be that cold(OMG, do people believe their own bs?). Was better last year but dismayed to find it almost as bad again this year, with even more hostility and horrible customer service by the new employees and new manager. They obviously didn't get the memo from previous years, I believe multiple employees were relieved of their jobs after the episodes 2 years ago. It always amazes me how employees will go out of their way to bury themselves even when you clearly explain to them how a problem can resolved(at zero cost in this case). read more

The service was horrible. The waitress didn't understand how to add a side of pancakes to my skillet order. She was going to charge me for the whole pancake breakfast and I had to explain to her how to charge me for pancakes a la carte. The kitchen could not get my order right. I asked for my skillet with no cheese, and I asked for my eggs to be cooked without oil. The skillet came out with cheese, sitting in a puddle of grease. I sent it back. It came out the second time, without cheese, but still sitting in a puddle of grease. I sent it back again. The waitress made no effort to hide her disgust and argued with me, "IT'S NOT OIL. IT'S BUTTER." Then she went to the kitchen, which is only about 10 feet away, and discussed the issue loudly and sarcastically with the kitchen staff. The third time my food came out, it was just as greasy as before and the plate was a mess. The potatoes were dry and crusty and the eggs were rubbery and disgusting and I'm pretty sure they just gave me the same plate as before after letting it sit under the heat lamp for 10 minutes.
