Tina!!! Hope this place doesn't lose her any time soon. Dennys is Denny's as far as food goes. No complaints on the food cause it was great, but Tina is definitely a shining star. The right mix of spunk, sass, friendly...I can't find enough compliments to give this woman so I'll call her amazing. Her service was top notch. Looking for late night eateries has become difficult, as most places are slowly staying open later. We found ourselves at Dennys one Saturday evening. We both could not remember the last time we had a meal at Dennys. Food was okay, typical American food if you looking for late meal. The prices are way better and cheaper than some of our local late night eateries. One item we loved was this chocolate puffy with frosting dip, tasted like a chocolate andagi with frosting, that was really good and would go back just for that. The only plus is the menu is large and breakfast is served anytime. Place was super empty so if you looking for a quiet meal, head to the kapahulu location (free parking). read more

Bill was $24 I gave 30 in cash and worker asked me why I was not tipping more and I felt like he was forcing me to tip more $6 tip on $24 is a 25% tip a 25% tip with the slow service I was served with there. Wasn't that many people in the restaurant as it was late never got a refill on my soda terrible service won't be returning ridiculous. How I almost had to tip 50% as the only other cash I had was a five dollar bill and he didn't even ask me if I wanted more change after I gave him the other five dollars so ended up being a nine dollar tip for shitty service. read more

We are staying at the Embassy Suites and they don't have food to order, but we were by the pool enjoying drinks and wanted some dinner that we could walk to quickly. Other places were super expensive or packed, so the wait was going to be an issue and our kids are picky eaters, so we knew burgers and fries would be their choices. I ordered 4 kids meals (one upgraded to bigger size with more food) and tipped and it was still under $30 and we were all full! Service was quick--order was ready in less than 20 minutes from placing the order on my phone and it was easy to place. Would definitely order again for pickup. read more

Customer service was the best I've had in a long time. The Aunty there wAs so sweet to our kids and to my husband and I. The restaurant was busy and she made sure to come to our table several times and fill our drinks up. I wish I got her name. The kids ordered the regular. Kids menu: confetti pancakes, build your own and cheeseburger. You no longer give straws out but they do provide the kids with a coffee cup that allowed for them to sip throw the lid. My husband ordered the loco moco with a side of French toast. It was so much food and the gravy was perfect. I ordered the sausage, and veggie skillet. It was flavorful but I wish it was hotter. I feel like it was warm almost cold like, didn't seem like it was on the stove long. I still ate it tho. Monday morning during COVID and many of the Waikiki restaurant dining areas are closed but I remembered driving by and viewing their sign that they were open. My family did a staycation in Waikiki over the weekend only to realize Monday morning that most businesses were not open during the week. We walked a few blocks to realize we were the only patrons of Denny's dine-in and had the restaurant to ourselves. Despite it being breakfast, two of the kids wanted spaghetti and meatballs only to be told later they were out of meatballs. That was depressing for the kids but not the end of life. We enjoyed a nice breakfast with plenty of attention by the server to keep our coffee filled. The initial cup of coffee was basically room temperature until she made a new pot. Again, a little depressing not to get that perfect cup of coffee in the morning but was fixed with a new pot. We had an assortment of breakfast dishes between the five of us- french toast, pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, etc. My wife had cheese on her eggs which turned out to be unmelted shredded cheese sprinkled on top. She didn't appreciate the unmelted cheese and ended up removing some as it was too much. All were wearing masks in the restaurant. No COVID concerns were noticed. Denny's is always a good choice for a good breakfast. They also offer a military discount- win win. read more

Oh gosh, where do I begin? It's Denny. I'm absolutely not going to compare them to a five star Michelin Restaurant. That being said, there are some things they do well and some things they don't. The best part about our entire experience, and we ate there twice, was the servers. Wow! We had a couple of amazing women who were kind, helpful and full of the aloha spirit. They even remembered us from our first day to the second. The other positive was the location. Super close to our hotel and pretty much everything else. I guess the positives kind of stop there. Compared to other Denny's, this one didn't quite measure up. The pancakes were oddly rubbery. The coffee was pretty awful. That being said, it's just breakfast, so we didn't expect anything amazing. The biggest issue we had was the temperature. For some weird reason it was about 40° in there. Absolutely freezing. The second day we were smarter and wore long pants and sweatshirts and even then we were chili. Don't know if it was broken or if there was something else going on, but it was really odd. What a fun little Denny's! We were staying across the street at the Outrigger reef hotel, and since we were still jet lagged, we were up at about 3:00 a.m. before any of the hotel restaurants open for breakfast. At about 5:00 am, we hopped over to Denny's, and had a terrific experience with tasty food, and excellent service from Ramona. She was efficient and friendly, and at that hour she was practically running the whole restaurant on her own. If you're in the area and you happen to be up late at night or early in the morning, this Denny's is a wonderful diversion from the standard Waikiki restaurants. read more

Love the Country Fried Steak Here. There are not many places to get "Country Fried Steak out Here" Denny's order to go system is on point if you order it within the facility receptionist itself. If you CALL try to pre-order take-out through the telephone, they do not offer all the items on the menu. They are rather fast too. Denny used to be on my baseball team back in the day. Hubby, daughter and I came here for dinner a little after 5 pm. We were greeted by the hostess named Mariah. She sat us right away and was super friendly and nice. She handed us menus and told us our server will be with us in a moment. To drink, I got an iced water. For appetizers, we shared an appetizer platter which had wavy cut fries, onion rings and spicy chicken bites. This was good as the fries were hot. I ordered the salmon which came with two sides. I got corn and wavy fries. The fries were a little cold this time. The salmon was cooked well and no pink which is a good sign. I also got garlic bread. I came hungry. Everything was okay. Service was excellent by our waitress. She checked up on us a couple of times. Food was descent but the service was great. It got busier a little later as we left. Free three hour parking in the structure nearby with a minimum purchase of $10. We managed to leave a little under 3 hours. read more

On this windy and rainy Sunday, I was too tired to cook anything from the fridge at home. Delivery apps are a lifesaver especially when I have a very specific craving of pancakes for a very long time. I ordered my food through Uber Eats. I got the Cinnamon roll pancakes slam with red skinned potatoes, 2 over medium eggs, and 2 bacon strips. At first, I thought half my order was missing but I didn't realize that the container actually had two layers...haha. So, yes everything has been accounted for. The bacon strips had smokey flavor to it, the over medium eggs were really fresh, but I really loved the red skinned potatoes a lot. I had ketchup in the fridge so I added that to my potatoes to elevate the flavor. Now, on to the main event which is the cinnamon roll pancakes. It came with a huge tub of cream cheese frosting, so I slathered it all over my pancakes to get that yummy sweet goodness in every bite. I also ordered a batch of chicken tenders with bbq sauce...I would eat them later because I am right now in the best food coma of sweet and savory that I'm in right now. Edit: I had tried half of my chicken tenders today with bbq sauce. The sauce was excellent but the tenders tasted like someone poured mountains of salt on it. If you're like me and have to watch your blood pressure on a daily basis, I don't recommend ordering very salty items. The only reason why I did is because I needed to at least make the delivery worth it before I got locked out and sucked into the "no couriers nearby" wormhole in the Uber Eats app. I would definitely order again. read more

Sometimes you just need to drown your Friday night mistakes in butter and syrup. This Denny's location is very clean and many tables are marked as unavailable in order to force social distancing. The staff was very friendly and we had a great experience. As for the food, you can always count on the quality at Denny's. I ordered the French Toast Slam and loved every bite of it. read more
