Welp, this here place is lucky it's gettin 2 Stars. I've been here a couple of times an it wasn't bad until today. The gal with the I hate my job and every one around me at the greeting station surely showed what it's like to have extremely bad costumer service. I walk in, she asked " how many" I respond " 1 " she replies " booth or table " I says booth please ( Hence the word PLEASE) she grabs the damn menus and walks to the booth, idk if she's checking or seating me, ( kinda busy, not Sunday busy cause it's a Tuesday) she sets the menus on the table and walks away to the back. I'm like... do I set ? Do I wait ? So I set. And see her in the back bull shittin with others.... welp, I decided, to hell with this and left. I'm sorry that gals life sucks cause she works where she does but that's just how the damn world goes. I love this Denny's! I wanted to go to In N Out and it was too crowded, so I tried to go to Togos and found to my dismay it was closed, so I tried the brand spanken new Denny's and it was great! This place is horrible. So, I ordered the ultimate skillet and it's suppose to have spinach, bell peppers, onions, sausage, potatoes, cheese, and egg. I received my dish with no spinach and it had a chorizo meat instead of sausage. I told the waitress and she brought it back - THE COOK said that my dish doesn't come with spinach and said he would add spinach. The cook just threw my skillet back on the grill to add spinach. He didnt address the wrong meat situation. My dish came back with spinach and burnt. I got a menu and compared what I ordered to the plate in front of me. Finally got the right dish the third time around. One would think that the manager would come around or the dish would be taken off of the bill -- NOPE! Neither happened. read more

I don't know who disliked this place, because this is our first time, and we think it's wonderful. I haven't eaten this type of food in a while, and it really brights up me and my family. We ordered only five orders, and they were all the BEST! I really love this place and hope to come again one day. They make the perfect recipes of burgers, salads, they entertain young kids with a lot of different things. read more

Had to wait for coffee. Interesting for a Dennys. However coffee doesn't take 20 min to brew , so I'm assuming she forgot?Also forgot an appetizer order , then tried to have them make it after she had already dropped of food. This was a pretty average Denny's, my reasoning for 3 stars was the service was not the greatest. We sat there almost 15 min before anyone got our drink orders. At one point the lady asked my grandma if she wanted a refill, she said yes but wanted the cold coffee dumped out. The lady didn't listen to her, my grandma had to say it two more times after she poured the coffee that she wanted it poured out. I ordered a gluten free English muffin, just for diet choice, after I ate half of it the waitress came out and said I'm sorry that's not gluten let me bring you one out. It's a good thing I don't have a gluten allergy or I'm sure the rest of my day trip to the coast would have been ruined. I probably would not suggest this Denny to friends. read more

Not often do I take the time to write a revue but this time I just couldn't drop the matter. All was fine until the meal arrived; husbands order was spot on but darn near room temperature;mine was the 'build yourself a slam' with pumpkin French toast that was so dry I physically couldn't swallow it and so naked & visually unappealing that I sent it back. The substitute French toast was edible but the bacon, sausage & soft boiled egg, still floating on is cooking water we're cold, even before the return and replacement. The service was non-existent; my husbands meal was finished before we were able ask for a replacement. First time in over 32 yrs ever to see him leave breakfast half eaten. The other server intentionally ignored our hand flagging 2x even though she saw it. The finale was the bill! Totally someone else's bill that took another 10minutes with 3 persons trying to correct it. I just paid it & like a fool, from habit, included a tip. Don't waste your time circling the RV around for convenient parking out of everyone's way & walking a block, just go into the fast food places across the street; at least it'll be WHAT YOU ORDERED &HOT!! read more

Slowest Denny's ever! Half the tables are empty and there's a crowd waiting to be seated. Waitresses are hollering at each other in Spanish, that they want to leave, they don't want to be here, and to take their time. Horrible inefficient service, the manager doesn't know how to lead his crew. Won't come here again. We're seated next to the kitchen so we hear everything they say. I don't know if this is a usual thing or just today, but judging from the lack of motivation the workers have here, I'll say it's usual. Spotless, fresh smelling, well stocked bathrooms. Friendly and attentive staff. I had a custom built veggie burger with brioche bun, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms and bourbon sauce with a side of fresh fruit and an iced tea. The whole dinner was out in less than 15 minutes. I'd much rather stop here for healthy, REAL food and clean restrooms than any of the other cheap places nearby. read more

In September, my mother and I were in a rollover accident and my car was totalled 4 hours away from home. The tow truck dropped us off at this Denny's, with boxes of our belongings, covered in glass and dirt. After letting a waitress know our situation, she placed us in a booth and reassured us we were welcome to stay as long as we would like. In total, we were there for about 5 hours waiting for family to come get us. All servers and manager made sure we were alright and were attentive and kind in a very difficult situation. I have immense appreciation for all of their help and understanding, and hope I can stop back by when we're not in such a bad situation! read more

We have been stopping at this Denny's almost every Saturday night on our way home from races in Lemoore for the past 6 months. Each time we go, sometimes service is good, most of the time, a lot to be desired. Food good and bad, just depends. Anyway, last night was the worst ever! Took forever to get waitress to come take drink order, then she finally took food order after we were there almost 20 mins. There were 5 of us and our orders came out 1 at a time, at least 5 - 8 min wait between each. They were not busy at all, waitress didn't seem to care. When went to pay, waitress wanted to keep change, even though I had left tip on table! After last night, not sure if we will return!! read more

I never thought I'd write a review of a Denny's but once in a while unexpectedly good things pop up. I stopped at this Denny's twice over the long weekend, once southbound from the Bay to LA and then again on the return trip. The day manager, a Persian lady name Kaijon (phoenetic) was exceptional. She had her staff working as efficiently and comfortably as I've ever seen a restaurant staff operate. No one passed the table without asking if we needed anything, they laugh, they are efficient, the place was clean and welcoming, etc. Kaijon (or however you spell it) didn't learn that type of management skills in Kettleman City -- no disrepect intended. She's got to have some type of business background. On our return trip I again stopped in. We waited five or six minutes before anyone came over and asked if we wanted to be seated. The food was mediocre. Breakfast and lunch are far better at Denny's from my experience. The manager was not interacting with the staff in a productive manner. However, what was impressive about Christian was that he's a "do-er". He managed the register, moppped the floor, bussed tables, and kept the restaurant functioning adequately. A week or so ago my family and I were travelling home from vacation and stopped at the Denny's in Ketterman City for brunch. We managed to leave a spare set of car keys in the restaurant and did not discover it until we were home, hundreds of miles away. I called and was relieved to hear the staff had found them. I then spoke with the manager, Christian. He was very helpful and arranged to send the keys back to us. A different kind of service, but I was very glad that the staff were able to help us. Well let me start of by saying that the place is clean the food was great but the service SUCKED!!!! I believe Belinda was the name of our server and she put the meaning idiotic to the test. Now I had a lot of things happen while eating but this lady was the worst, she was loud and we could here her in the back of the kitchen just complaining and whining about her job... Even for a Denny's this place is bad. Powdered eggs instead of scrambled. Powdered soup...cheddar broccoli. If it wasn't instant soup, then it was the absolute worst cooking in history. Soggy French toast. Really disappointing. read more

At the end of a 4th of July weekend we stopped here for a late dinner. We needed to see the hostess to be seated but her other duties interfered. My wife, who walks with a cane, complained about the inattention after 10 minutes but the hostess was saving sympathy for personal use. We did get seated and waiter Salvador saved the day. He had a good attitude on a difficult day when the place was slammed. Beverages provided, food ordered, food delivered, follow up to make sure we were ok, in other words he acted like a professional. I had the prime rib Cobb salad. It was great. My wife had a cheese omelette. It looked like a truck was driven over it before it left the kitchen. She orders this dish regularly and this was the worst ever. Our waiter and my salad pulled the restaurant from a 1 star to 3 star. read more

Excellent service from Gabriel and Santos today! These guys were incredibly nice, attentive and authentic, they were just good dudes doing their job excellently. Great food too, quick and tasty, our cast iron skillet omelettes surprised us all, so thanks to the chefs working hard as well! Big parking lot, easy to find, just off the freeway of course. Definitely a good Denny's, hadn't been to one in 3 years or so and left very impressed and with a full belly. read more

Two visits to this Denny's proved wrong both times. First visit, got half our food, then got our check for full orders of food. They claimed we did not get our food because the cook was on break outside. What kind of excuse is that??? Finally after calling over the manager and complaining, she gave us a discount. The waitress was so upset, she put in her own money for the total. My second trip was not much better, we ordered water and tea, and set there for 20 min. We asked the waiter for our drinks, and he gave us an aggressively long excuse that hot food coming out is more important than our drinks. I will never go to this restaurant again. Food was way too salty!! We ordered the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and zucchinis. When my husband and I walked in the restaurant, it was empty. We questioned this, but decided to stay. Bad decision- should have walked out. The kitchen staff in the back continuously laughed and carried on a loud conversation for us to hear throughout our whole meal. Waitress misinformed us of the difference of a senior vs regular meal, but didn't care when I asked where our salad was. She just said it didn't come with the regular meal after misinforming us that the meals were the same except for the proportions and one side. We've had much better waitresses. In my 50+ years of eating at Denny's, I have never experienced such bad food/service! I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Burger, which was swimming in grease. I couldn't have eaten it had I wanted to as it completely fell apart. Needless to say, the grease had spread leaving my fries swimming in it as well. When I brought it to the waiters (Julian) attention, he never even responded...just looked at me like I was crazy. My husband ordered breakfast and had to ask for his sourdough toast 3 times. The waiter finally brought it after he'd finished his meal!! Upon using the restroom, one toilet had completely overflowed onto the floor and into the adjoining stalls. Filthy! I will NEVER eat at this location again. With food and service like this, it won't last long...even in Kettlemen! Apparently, one star is required or I wouldn't have even given that! read more

I'd avoid this place. Very sloppy. Waitress was very negligent in not mopping up the water she spilled over the tile floor when she bumped into another waitress. Neither of them bothered to mop up the spill. When I got up a 1/2 hour later to pay the bill, I slipped and fell on the puddle they had neglected to mop up. Bad service, bad food, just an overall bad experience. Not much to choose from on I-5, and since grandma did not want Fast Food we tried the Denny's even though all our prior experiences with Denny's have been bad. At least they are consistent. Food served on wet plates, no silverware, no syrup with pancakes. The waitress took the time to place her other orders before bringing our silverware and by then the food was cold and the napkins the silverware was wrapped in were wet too. I ordered the pecan banana pancakes. The sliced banana on top was good, but what is that disgusting flavor in the pancakes? Tasted like baking soda. Wait until Buttonwillow (going South) and try the place the truckers go. read more

What a nice surprise this Denny's was during our trip down to Southern California. We received better service here than most other restaurants that you will find just about anywhere. One waiter noticed that another waiter had not attended to us yet and took the initiative to take over our table. The food, drinks and refills were served very quickly. It appeared that they understood we were making a quick pit stop on a long journey and respected our time. My only recommendation is to ask ahead of time if they have run out of any ingredients because I noticed that there was at least one ingredient missing from each of the salads we ordered, but it did not affect the excellent flavor of the salads at all. I highly recommend stopping by this location if you are looking for an experience that is more satisfying and relaxing than what can be found at a standard drive-thru and have the little bit of extra time to spare. read more

Stars are only for the food. I would give 3 but hey...it's Denny's. What do you expect? First off coming in, the hostess was preparing a table of 6 as we wait. Manager comes out stares & walks back into the kitchen. Mind you there's now a crowd of customers behind us. We finally get seated & our waitress takes our orders & comments right off the bat "your drinks are gonna be little late cuz i have to take this table's order" That was nice of her but from there it was the worse customer service. Everyone who sat around us with larger parties & came in after us got their food & were constantly checked on. Meanwhile we just got our drinks but No silverware to stir my coffe & sugar. I had to ask another waitress who was kind enough to check on us give me a spoon. My husband's & daughter's food arrives but tells me my plate will be arriving shortly. I ordered the simples plate out of my family so i thought it was hilarious. She brings my food THEN says your pancakes are the only thing I have to bring...uh ok. Then my husband asks if she brought the Tabasco from when he asked earlier. Turns out she forgot & comes back to the table and giggles "I'm probably a little late with this" My husband was practically done with his meal. I eventually get my pancakes and ate only half cuz I lost my appetite by then. Horrible customer service....from the hostess who was not pleasant AT ALL to the waitress to the Manager. I don't normally write horrible reviews but this one deserved it...BIG time! We only came here cuz the restaurant across the street with a Western theme was closed due to 4th of July.
