This might be the nicest Denny's that I've been to. It was an off night. We stopped in randomly because we were hungry and couldn't find another place that was open on a Monday night. They were understaffed and out of food and the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing. My first choice and second choices on the already reduced and limited menu were out. But they were nice. The shift supervisor was doing multiple things, including being the host, server and cook at various points in the night. What could've been stressful or unpleasant was made friendly and prompt. So when I say it's the nicest Denny's, it's the staff that I'm talking about, though it is a clean place and in good condition as well. And there's always the pie. Hooray for Denny's pie! read more

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. She ordered the bourbon chicken and I the prime rib Cobb salad. There was only one waitress for most of the time and one cook. We got our food an hour later. The salad was not put together correctly and the avocado was over ripen. Her food was over drunk in sauce and the vegetables were over cooked and soggy. Not once were we asked about the food. I had to ask for the check and at the register they did something wrong and it closed my bill before taking my AARP discount. They were unable to fix it without voiding the whole transaction and redoing it. By this time we were fed up and said forget it. As I was waiting to be seated I over heard two servers Katie I do believe and Shelly talking about a girl they told off I'm assuming a customer ? Very unpleasing to know they feel that crappy about people who spend money with them . I asked them if I could eat and they continued to talk crap .. finally as the bigger one rolls her eyes when the cook lets her know the food for the one table in the restaurant other than me and the skinny one leads me to my seat . Food was great I had to personally go to the cook and give him my order kind gentleman he needs a freaking raise dealing with them girls! Find one who can actually serve and want to . That place is hell and the environment is toxic Ill pray for the guy having to work in that type of place he put his heart into the place . It's talked about in town . The new management is terrible. The place is dirty. They have maggots in the kitchen. The cook complains whenever a new order comes in very audibly. Makes you feel like you're not welcome. And if you come in during morning you can hear the general manager scream at the poor servers. Just a terrible experience for me everyone involved. read more

The food itself was good, but the service was horrible; the server dropped my toast in my coffee and said "at least it didn't hit the floor" and walked away, no new coffee, no new toast, ruined the meal. read more

Stopped by for an off-hour Santa Fe Skillet breakfast. The Menomonie Denny's is a cavernous but attractive space, and was almost completely empty at mid-afternoon. I've had the same dish at many Denny's over the years, and it's been reliably good...until now. My first bite was an uncooked mushroom, literally still cold. I tested a potato, which was luke warm and greasy, while the chorizo was super-hot and burnt black. The server suggested returning the skillet to the heat, but I explained that this couldn't fix the problem and asked that it be recooked. For the second iteration, the cook chose to send out limp potatoes, soggy with grease, surrounded by so much burnt chorizo that you'd think I'd ordered hash, and as if to punish the customer for sending back the first dish, withheld the veggies entirely. I felt bad for the server, who clearly delivered quality service. As I was leaving, I found that the toilet wasn't properly cleaned. Wish I'd seen this first, as it's a tell-tale sign of a poorly managed restaurant. read more

Went here and the service and food were awful. Took us an hour to even receive menus. Our mozzarella sticks were hollow and had no cheese. After the two hours of slow service, we were so angry and just wanted to pay and leave. It took the worker 30 minutes to split the bill. Not to mention this was supposed to be a birthday dinner, too. The waitress apologized but when we ordered we never received our drinks and when she stopped by to tell us our food was almost ready I asked for our drinks and she got angry with me saying I'm sorry I forgot. Waited 45 minutes and got no service. Only one other group in the restaurant. Asked twice for a server. The other group had a server and got drinks but never got their order taken. We left with no food or service. Hostess told us to have a good evening when we left knowing they did not serve us. I would not recommend this Denny's ever. Went there for the college parents weekend. The staff was so very rude. Waited over an hour for our food. This restaurant was NOT busy even tho they will claim they were packed. Went to Perkins across the street the next day. Excellent service with very friendly staff. Me and the family went there a few days ago got seated right away the wait staff was amazing food was good

The place was nearly empty, so we expected quick service. However, it took the employees a good 5 minutes to break away from their conversation before they came and seated us. Our order was taken fairly promptly, but then we waited 45 minutes to receive our food. There were only 3 other tables with people seated, not busy whatsoever. Once our food finally arrived, one order was wrong, one wasn't complete and one didn't have an item cooked properly, but I won't elaborate on that. For the item that was missing, it should've taken 2 minutes to prepare and bring over, but was at least 10 minutes before it was delivered to the table. I also didn't see a manager on site. One star for the food tasting decent. We received a sincere apology for the incorrect order, but this place still left a negative impression. Maybe this is why the parking lot was so empty during the dinner rush on a Friday night? Lesson learned. read more

This Denny's is a hit or miss. If you come in and see a bearded guy cooking, turn around and run. He took forever. And not because they were busy. Other than my family of 5 there was a couple eating and one person dining alone. We didn't complain at first because we thought well he's taking his time to make sure everything comes out right. NOPE, not the case. Literally everything we were served was super over cooked. And just all and all not good. If you see a young guy I think his name is Morgan if he is cooking than sit down. He is a great cook. Your food will come out fast, correct and tasty. Super impressed with him, I think he could easily get a job cooking at any restaurant he wanted to. So ask who's cooking before you sit down. He is the only reason I'm giving this Denny's any stars at all. He saved this restaurant. read more

I have tried to eat here multiple times since this location opened, and have been more than disappointed every single time. Each time I write it off that maybe my waitress is having a bad day, but that is not the case. The service is appalling. There is always an unnecessary wait for your waitress to greet you, to receive your drinks, to take your order and to bring your food. I might add this is when it's dead and there aren't many customers there. They always seat you in the far right small room, and they seat people right next to you when the whole entire restaurant will be empty. Waitresses are horribly unfriendly. Food is average at best, and the portion size for the price is highway robbery. I will continue to drive 40 miles out of my way to go to Hudson for good food and good service if I want Denny's. You're better off picking up some roller food from the gas station than ruining your day by stopping at Denny's in Menomonie. read more
