The Denny's on Sherman Way in NOHO is very good. Pam Pam is number one. great service

I'm a frequent customer at this location because the food is usually very good, but today the service was extremely disappointing. I first tried calling to place an order and stayed on the line for almost 20 minutes with no answer. When I arrived, I informed the employee, and I noticed the phone was left off the hook, which explains why no one was answering. I ordered a steak with scrambled eggs, broccoli, and a garden salad to go. After waiting about 30 minutes, I had to approach the counter myself to ask if my order was ready. When I finally got home, I realized the eggs were missing from my order. I understand businesses get busy, but service and organization should not suffer. It's frustrating when there isn't someone properly managing the front or handling customers. The manager appeared to be working hard in the kitchen, but the real issue is clearly front-of-house service and customer attention. I have to say this is one of the best Denny's in the San Fernando Valley. The parking lot is never full, easy to get a set and being a little off beaten path it's sort of a hidden gem location. The Denny's of Sherman Way is located between Fulton and Ethel, next to a strip mall plazas on each side of it as well as across the street with mainly small mom and pop places, some auto repair shops and industrial areas facing North. Residential areas South, including a large apartment complex that sits just behind. This location is fully in Valley Glen, but North Hollywood adjacent. When you walk in, you're typically greeted and allowed to pick a seat in the areas available. Open 24 hrs and doing it with charm, classic meets modern ambiance and service that is always friendly and prompt. The food always fresh for dine-in or takeout and even delivery. They never miss any of my order notes, but I try to stick to a few favs like the Build Your Own Beyond Burger (which has switched over to the Dr. Praeger's Veggie Patty at some if not most locations), the Grits (no butter), Oatmeal and Skillets (without the eggs, cheese and meat... often asked for extra veggies) And a lot of sides: Side Salad (hold the cheese for me), Seasoned Red-Skinned Potatoes, Fresh Seasonal Fruit, Toast, Hash browns , French Fries (both Wavy and Seasoned), Broccoli, Whole Grain Rice. Never have I ever had a bad experience here.. Knock on those wooden tables (unlike the other locations nearby on Sepulveda and the really bad one in North Hollywood off Burbank/Lankershim... we don't talk about her). They definitely had a staff shortage here at times during and post early 2020s that is evening out more. I definitely know when to go to beat crowds. Love when they bring the hot sauce options out (Tapatio, Cholula, Tabasco) and included them in my delivery orders. I've had so many great servers here over the years and met some amazing managers. I just wanted to thank the manager Nestor and also Dora. I ordered a Cali Club sandwich online. By the time I got to work in L.A. the sandwich was falling apart because it was soaked in mayonnaise. I like mayonnaise but not soaked on my sandwich. I called and complained to Nestor and he was very accommodating and gave me a replacement the next day. Even though it was an inconvenience, they corrected the cook's mistake. I have frequented this location often in the past and will certainly continue. I guess the cook really likes mayonnaise lol. I always enjoy coming to Denny's, and I usually come here with my wife. From the moment we walk in, we feel welcomed, and a big part of that is thanks to Néstor, the manager. He is very empathetic, attentive, and genuinely cares about the customers. You can really tell when someone does his job with heart, and he always makes sure everything is going well. The food is always delicious and fresh, well prepared and consistent every time. Whether it's breakfast or a regular meal, the quality never disappoints. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is reliable, and there's a very human, personal touch that you don't find everywhere these days. They sat us at a filthy table and the service was pathetic. I will not return. It's the worst Denny's Ive ever been to in my opinion.

ordered the smokehouse served on Mac n Cheese. However, when the food got to my table the entire meat was charred and black it was not edible. After explaining this to my server, Dana she then proceeded to state she had worked in food prep and it was still edible. The manager the comes over with frozen meat to explain that's how it was. Upon further inspection, the meat was burnt beyond recognition. I have eaten smokehouse meats numerous of times but instead was tried to be gaslit by staff to eat something I was not comfortable eating. Mistakes happen it was just burned all the way through and smothered in sauce. The experience was uncomfortable instead of a quick fix. Will not be returning. read more

From the beginning, starting from the managers, two ladies they have horrible attitude. I wait 30 minutes. They never called me. they seat people they come after me. Finally I went and asked them but before that I asked them if the counter was available, they said no so finally I went and ask them why didn't call my name and she say do you wanna sit on the counter when before they said it was not available I wait another 35 minutes to get just biscuits and gravy when the food come out it was cold. Friendly staff but not enough staff members working on Sunday morning. Server took a while to even ask for our beverages, he was apologetic about it and kind but the wait times were really long. Food was ok, hashbrowns were the highlight of the super slam I ordered. Pancakes were not great. Parking is usually hard to come by and leaving the parking lot gives a lot of blind spots when turning onto Sherman Way. Tried the Brioche French toast, and that was really good. Overall, not the greatest experience due to what seemed like an understaffed restaurant. Not likely to return. read more

You can never go wrong with Denny's. It was 4th of July weekend and I was craving the red, white and blue pancakes special. Haven't had them in a while and they were absolutely delicious! It's something about their pancakes that keeps me coming back. It still reminds me of my childhood days, when we used to go to Denny's on the weekends and we looked forward to it every week. Absolutely nostalgic. My husband ordered the Santa Fe skillet with an over easy egg on top: all I have to say is BOMB! xD The portions are large enough to share, or not :p, depending on how hungry you are. This place is our favorite location. Not only is it close to home, the staff is super welcoming and nice. It's always easy to walk in and get seated. During their busy hours, weekend mornings, there can be a bit of a wait. But overall, the staff does a great job seating guests and are super attentive. There's also ample parking so no need to worry about street parking. Highly recommend. Denny's is a classic. Anytime of day, it always complements my day. :D read more

My last visit was a slight improvement from past years but the cook ignored two requests the server made on my order on what seemed to be a quiet afterhours. One table with two persons when I arrived, and then another as I left. Maybe two pick up orders while I ate. Between getting seated and getting my order in, one staff member seemed to be a manager/host who set my table, yet they let the server on duty rush back in from their smoke break to take my order.
