Once again, bidenomics ruined what would have been an OK breakfast. At $3.69 for coffee, I have to ask myself if it was indeed bidenomics or was that on Dennys? The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The same question goes for the hashbrowns at $3.19. As well as the misnamed Everyday Value slam, which was a biscuit with sausage gravy, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage links. My server Winnie wasn't very friendly. I tried to engage her in conversation by asking her about her day. She just said, "Good," and rushed off. I couldn't find the biscuits and gravy with eggs that They used to have for $5.00, so I originally ordered biscuit and gravy off the Ala cart menu , and told Winnie I didn't see what I was really looking for. She told me it wasn't on the menu anymore, but they had the everyday slam. She was on top of her game when she uphold me the hashbrowns. My meal came out fairly quickly. The eggs over easy were slightly overcooked but not enough to complain about. The gravy was ok, not as thick or brown as I prefer, but with added pepper, it was ok. The redeeming factor was that it was loaded with large chuncks of sausage. My hashbrowns were OK too, nothing spectacular but no complaints. The ambiance was ok purdy much on Parr with other Dennys. The parking lot was large enough to accommodate its hungry diners. I liked that I had room to open my car door without hitting the car next to me. The gal that took my money at cash register wasn't too friendly. Is it too much to expect a warm smile and some kind words from a cashier or server these days? I'm a little mad at myself because I chose Dennys over Mollies in SJC because of reviews I read about new ownership and raising prices. Looks like prices would have been comparable... Well well well, it pains me to say this, once again my meal was served COLD once again. Ordered a milkshake as a drink and sever Silvio denied service. Claimed that was a dessert and recommended water. About 20 minutes to get a lousy straw. That's right and they tried to pass it off as got cheese! The excuse ... sometimes he gets confused !!! I am a long time Dennys customer and i joined the rewards program a few years ago. With rising prices and over $3.00 black coffee i value rewards program coupons or my Veterans discount. We are talking over $20 for a single guy to have coffee and breakfast not including a tip. Terrible. The servers are the ones who get less tips because of this. I would have to say that this location is pretty good. The stuff is is very nice, acting very professional, the dinning area is pretty bing and it's remodeled. The parking lot is huge so you don't have to worry about looking for a parking lot around this building. The service is fast. We were seated right away and in about 1 minute a waiter was ready to serve us. Our waitress was Aurora. I hope I got the name right. The French toast was cooked in the same pan as a steak or something because it had bits of meat stuck to it with parts that didn't seem entirely cooked and the hash browns were beyond soggy and sad with no cheese on them like I ordered. Called to tell the manager the 'next morning and she was not in and I guess no one else was managing the restaurant? Didn't bother trying to call again since the person who answered my call didn't offer to give her my number even after I asked if I could have a return call. Quality human beings work at this store. Fast service and I will forever be grateful to them! Earlier this week I had the most terrible morning. I was already running late to work in Irvine. I forgot to fill up gas the night before for my car and thought whatever I had in my tank would reach me to San Clemente however I passed the last exit in Oceanside and had to turn all the way around about 2 to 3 miles to get gas next to Denny's otherwise I would have been stuck in the Camp Pendleton stretch. I was already so stressed and had the most anxiety that morning because I was so scared I wasn't going to make it back to a gas station. So, I made it to a gas station and filled up. Since I was already running late to work, I decided to stop by Danny's to grab me some breakfast. Long story short: I had vented while ordering and told the staff how many day was going. I told them how stressed I was because I thought I was going to be stuck in the middle of the freeway. They could tell how much anxiety I just had and that I was already having a stressful morning. I ordered my food and they were so nice because it only took about 5 to 8 minutes. Great service. I received my food and when they gave me my food I got an extra drink of orange juice to go! :) The man who was working at this Dennys during the morning who had shoulder length or shorter hair was so kind and empathetic towards me. He said, "Here's an extra orange juice for you and I hope your day gets better." I wanted to cry because he was so nice and didn't have to do that but out of the kindness of his heart, he did. I love this Dennys and will hold this location close to my heart. :) Thank you for your kindness. The food was delicious too!!!! I got a breakfast sand-which - eggs, ham, cheese with hashbrowns. I was on my way to the SD area, and I was getting hungry. So I stopped by this place to get a quick bite. I came in during a busy time, but I luckily found seating at a booth. The waitress brought me some water and took my order. I opted for a build-you-own-slam, and added a bowl of fruit for starters. I got my fruit bowl quickly, and the rest of my food shortly thereafter. I went with the waitress' recommendation, and had tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms mixed in to my egg whites. It was a great choice, as they came out delicious. I got chicken sausage, and turkey bacon to go with that, as well as wheat bread. First off, when we entered the building nobody was at the counter and nowhere saying seat yourself or anything, once someone had finally seated us I got a glass of water which tasted like tap water, and I don't have a problem with tap water but this was another level, my mom got a Diet Coke and that was fine but only so much you can mess up on pouring a coke from one glass to another. Our order was delivered fairly fast but considering there was about 3 groups of 2 there in total it wasn't too fast. I had ordered a pancake with extra whipped cream and extra strawberry, and my mother ordered a bourbon chicken which the taste was good of, but since it's such a hot dish you can't really tell if it's bad or good. Although the taste of the chicken was good the next morning my mother had gotten a bad stomach ache, it even got to the point where I consider it food poisoning she was hurting so bad and still is 2 and a half days later. I do not recommend coming here, when we got our drinks the lemons we got for our water was bad and the grapefruit juice my husband got tasted like it was going bad as well. My omelette was the prettiest omelette I have ever eaten and tasted as good as it looked. Stuffed full of veggies and they were cooked to perfection. Javier was not attentive and had really horrible customer service. He was in the back of the kitchen doing whatever he was doing and we did not get any coffee refills or checked on once. I came in on a Wednesday morning around 8:30 AM. I was excited to take my son out to eat and use my Birthday Coupon. We had a little bit of a wait to be seated and I didn't mind that. The waitress was good and took our orders right away. Our drinks came out shortly after. Then, we proceeded to wait about 35 MINUTES for our food. We only ordered two plates and were getting so impatient! The waitress did explain they only had one cook. The restaurant was so packed so I could understand the delay! However, someone could have mentioned that before we sat down! We would have came back in the evening after work! I think one group ended up leaving since the wait was just too long! We were about to leave too, but my birthday coupon expired today! I had to be at work at ten and barley had enough time to eat and check out. My son had to take half of his meal to go since they couldn't manage to bring both of our plates out at the same time! It seemed like the manager checked us out when we were done eating. She did seem to apologize about the wait and being short staffed. It would have been nice if she would have given me a discount for my coffee or my son's smoothie to make up for the inconvenience! Located in a funny curved street area near the freeway.... adequate parking on this raised lot. The greeters, servers, pay takers, etc., were all very nice and friendly. We had an assortment for lunch...burgers, omelettes, etc. All of us enjoyed the food. I especially liked the hash browns.... very crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. Me and my wife were in the area and never have a dull moment at Denny's. We arrived to this location and were quickly seated. The staff at this location are always friendly and quick with service. I ordered the Moons Over My Hammy and my wife ordered the T-Bone and Eggs plate. I also ordered my meal with a side of Banana $ Caramel Cream Pancakes( which were delicious!). Both our meals were delicious as usual and the price is always low and legit (especially for military). It all ended up being under $20. We love Denny's and will be coming to more along our way. On August 22nd I visited the Denny's on College Ave in Oceanside, CA Halfway through my meal I informed the server i was going to the men's room. When I returned my food was gone, table cleaned and another customer was seated at my table. I spoke with the manager who offered me a "to-go coffee". I declined, paid the full price for my meal and left. On September 4 I visited this same Denny's. I ordered my breakfast. 5 minutes later the manager tried to serve me nachos. (wrong table). A few minutes later someone's else's breakfast was served to me. I originially assumed they just got the eggs wrong but found out from the server they gave me the wrong order. Again, no apologies, nothing! The only excuse from the server was "we are really busy". I am a huge fan of Denny's but I will NOT be visiting this location again. I also noticed they had "Loaded Nacho Tots" in their menu, which looked interesting so I ordered that as well. I ordered the spaghetti with sautéed mushrooms. Everything was good. The spaghetti had a the right portion of marinara sauce, the meatballs were delicious, and the loaded nacho tots were good too! I don't go to Denny's too often, but when I do go, I never leave there dissatisfied. The workers are always very kind, the food is good, and there's plenty of variety to choose from. Is it an absolute mind blowing restaurant that is on my top favorites list? Probably not, but it's a solid restaurant that I can definitely see myself going to again in the future. read more
