I ordered the breakfast burrito for take out. It was ready when I arrived for pick up and I was happy to see it came with salsa and hot sauce on the side. I have always liked this Denny's, but I noticed some disappointing changes this visit. Someone had dropped a wadded up Kleenex on the floor, and the servers just kicked it when they passed it. No one ever picked it up, Also the ceiling vent had so much dust on it, that if any air blew out of it, large clumps of dust would have fallen on the diners. One star only because I can't do 0 stars. The whole experience from the moment we walked in to when we left was very disappointing. Also I think I should let you know I can't rate the food since we didn't get any food here - not because we didn't want any but because we didn't get to place our order. We walk in and there's a sign that says please see hostess to be seated. There's no one there so we wait a minute. I thought maybe they were in back and didn't know we were there because no bell goes off when you walk in so I shifted over where I can see to the back and there's a guy standing there leaning up against the counter by the drink area on his phone looking like he'd rather be anywhere but there. A lady came out from the actual kitchen area and asked him to greet us and seat us. He started to act like he was coming by us and then when the lady went back to the kitchen he went right back to his phone. Took another 2 minutes for us to get seated by another server. Once seated, we waited for the server to come over and greet us and maybe see if we wanted water or anything to drink. No one stopped over. After a while I started a timer and after about 15 minutes at least of no one coming over we saw the server take the order at another table and then walk right past us without saying a word. I'll note here that it was not busy. There was us, the other table and then 2 other tables who were already well into eating their meals. At this point we decided to leave and would go to another location but wanted to let the manager know what happened. We went by the register and a guy approached and we asked for a manager and to our surprise he was the manager. Why was this a surprise you ask? Well because he was sitting at a table by the front when we walked in and that table happened to also be 3 tables away from where we were. He claimed he had no idea we were even seated! Ummm what? We walked right past you when the other waitress seated us. Then he made a bunch of different excuses but never offered an apology. We will more than likely not return to this location. read more

The service was amazing. We came back to WI for a family wedding and wanted some food very late at night. Everywhere was closed so naturally we settled on a Denny's. I was hesitant to walk in, but Madison greeted us at the host stand and seated us. We ordered something simple, the classic appetizer sampler, zesty nachos, and the cookies n cream shake. Madison checked on us regularly, was kind, patient and attentive. To be this amazing at 2am is a feat in and of itself, and I'm SO glad we went! The food was fresh and hot, and service phenomenal. We come in almost every weekend. The manager is lazy and never seems to help out her staff during the night shift. The staff is doing an awesome job, the food is delicious. The restaurant clean. Gordon Ramsey needs to come here with kitchen nightmares because this place is an absolute embarrassment of a restaurant. My brother and I decided to do something different for dinner tonight and went to Denny's. We've been to other Denny's in the past and have enjoyed them, tonight though was the complete opposite. We were seated and decided to have a three course meal (appetizer, entree, dessert). We thought they would bring the food out one plate at a time, but nope the waiter brought it all out at once. I was excited to see that they had brisket Mac n cheese on the menu so I order it. When it finally came out there was barely anything on my plate. I spent 16$ on this dish and there's hardly any mac n cheese plus what mac n cheese I did have was cold. All of the brisket was dry. It felt like the cooks made my plate with what little scraps they had in the kitchen and then put it in the microwave to dry it out. Onto the dessert, we both order the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Before I start describing the nasty dessert, the rim of my bowl was dirty with something reddish brown that was caked onto it. Both of the desserts were floating in a pool of butter! You look at the bowls and it's this pool of yellow melted butter! The ice cream was half melted by the time it got to the table and was just combining with the melted butter. There was plenty of apples in the dessert but there was only one small piece of the crisp. Denny's needs to change the name of the dessert to pool of butter and melted ice cream with some apples. It was disgusting!! Lastly, during our whole meal, our waiter plus the other waiters weren't paying attention to the customers or the dining room but instead the claw machine that is in the restaurant. The professionalism of the employees here is a massive joke. Overall this whole experience was horrendous and disgusting! DO NOT EAT HERE, IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! read more

I went here for one of my cast parties and the service was pretty good. I felt pretty bad for our waitress, they only had one woman in charge of my whole cast. We all took up about 5 tables. Although, we all recognized that she was probably a bit overwhelmed so we were patient with her. The food, though, was a bit cold. I had ordered a waffle and an Oreo shake and the shake was delicious. However, the waffle was a different story. When it arrived it was cold. The syrup was also cold (which is normal so that didn't bother me) so I just ended up settling for my cold waffle. My sister reassured me that the food is usually hot, but that didn't really help my situation. I'm going to consider this my first Denny's experience as I probably haven't been to a Denny's in over 20 years. I have to say, Denny's sure has built up a reputation over the years for being the the king of low-class diners or at least the endless "Denny's Brawl" videos that feature this iconic establishment make it seem so. Did it live up to it's reputation? I'll let you decide. It's 2am, I walk into the place to eat and chill for awhile before going to work. There's nobody working the door nor registers. I walk across the restaurant, taking my sweet time checking everything out. As I walk I notice my shoes are sticking to the floor...gross. After finding a table, 15 minutes pass and I see someone emerge from the kitchen and drop food on a table for the only other patrons there besides me before disappearing again. My mind starts to wander as I wait and I begin to panic about how to order food in this place (I passed by two touchscreens was I supposed to do something there?!!?!?) I begin walking towards the bathroom, trekking across the awful sticky floor when I see the waitress emerge again, but it's too late I'm already on a mission! Into the bathroom I go which seemed even more gross with wet, sticky floors. After I leave the bathroom I sit at another area that just got cleaned. 10 minutes later someone comes out to set the table and asks if I'd been helped. They then proceed to tell me the area I'm in is closed so I move. The person kindly let the waitress know someone was alive in the restaurant and FINALLY I get served after hovering about this place like a hungry ghost for an hour. Country Friend Steak and eggs skillet, cake batter milkshake, and an orange juice. It took another 15 minutes for the food to come out, but in the meantime I was entertained by the local drunken low-class people you see in every "Denny's Brawl" video. They were loud, fighting over nachos, heavily slurring words, etc. Once I heard them get quiet I turned around and they were just blankly staring at me. Later on some more rowdy customers came in and argued with the waitress over the survey on the back of the receipt...and another guy yelling about water and hot cocoa... Let's just say... I doubt I'll be trying out a Denny's again anytime soon. The food was ok at best and for a ghost town you'd think the staff would do a better job of cleaning up with all that free time (one of my tables had syrup on it and at another I grabbed a menu only to find out out it was covered in cola.) Also, as I moved around to find a clean table. I noticed bugs on one table, after which I began to notice all the food on floor that could be easily cleaned up. If they cared about their customers they would turn up the heat as well. People were freezing and complaining about it all night yet NOTHING was done. 2/5 stars read more

If i could give zero stars i would. Shame on management. Im a bar manager and id never leave mu staff to sink. Never do you see a manager helping these servers. Everytime you ask if a manager is on they are always in the office. I waited 15 mins to get a beverage do to only one server on and manager hiding in office. There is only 5 tables in the whole restaurant. Shame shame shame on this restaurant. My family and I needed dinner on Christmas. Denny's was one of the only places open and I haven't eaten at a Denny's in probably 20 years. My kids ordered burgers, my wife chicken tenders and I had the turkey club. I am not kidding you here, the food was cooked perfectly. Perfectly toasted, perfected cooked burger (even ordering it delivery and medium rare the way it really should be done) perfect crisp on the chicken tenders. We will be ordering again for sure. I even called them to thank them because I was shocked. My kids said it was the best burger they ever had and we drive to Madison just for burgers at times. Anyway, they sincerely deserve the 5 stars. I can't speak of every location at every time with every cook, but they nailed our Christmas meal. read more

I go to this Denny's all the time with my best friend and we agree we have always had a lovely experience. The food is always amazing and the waiters/waitresses are always wonderful! Even when it's busy and I can see they don't have as much staff as usual they still do an awesome job. This time around my friend and I had Carlos as a waiter and he was lovely! This Denny's deserves 5 stars, not 2.5. But, we all know people only leave reviews if they want to complain, not when they have a good experience. 10/10 Denny's would recommend :3 read more

One thing I love about Denny's is that when I ask for chocolate chip pancakes they actually put them IN the pancakes rather than just on top. Usually, my family and I enjoy dining at this place. Sometimes it smells funny but that's besides the point. Today, was just the worst. We walked in at approximately 11:56 pm on this beautiful Wednesday only to be greeted by a frowny man. He told us something about how everyone was busy. We then sat ourselves. A woman came barreling from the back and started screaming at us. Saying "this is not a free for all". Scared and confused we retreated back to the entrance. We were then given the choice to wait 30 minutes until she finished her break or we had to leave. An elderly couple then entered and were greeted far nicer. They were good people. Not the workers. BOOOOOOOOO! So me and family were famished, lonely, dazed, and confused left to fend for our selves. We trekked over to George Webb's which was awesome. read more

Disappointed, yet again. I have been a regular here for many years. Couldn't order online because it said they were closed (5 weeks in a row now for this). Have even mentioned this at the location. Told 15-20 minutes for call in order to be ready. Arrived at restaurant 20 minutes later and waited another 15 minutes for an order that was obviously rushed out after I asked about it. Don't mind waiting for an order but tell me when I order it will be 30-45 minutes, I'll come in later. Got order home and the entire order was wrong. Missing items, not prepared the way the order was given over the phone. Paid before getting order and leaving a nice tip before being to see the food. Even at order taking I needed to remind the order taker on the phone at the restaurant to take my name and phone number. I should have had her read the order back to me, she was obviously wasn't paying attention. She was also trying to check somebody out at the register while taking the order. This isn't the first time this has happened and I know I'm not the only one that is has happened to. I can understand being busy and such. Just be honest and up front about wait times. Takeout orders are just important as dining in without any more social distancing being enforced. The only difference is people can't send them back to be corrected. They could bring them back and wait another 45 minutes. But who wants to do that?? Take your time to get them right so people can give you 5 stars. read more

I'm so frustrated every time I come here. The food is subpar and always cooked incorrectly, the tables and menus are sticky, and the worst of it is the staff. Dennys itself, wasn't the problem. 10/5 for Dennys. However Ben, our server was a little creepy. At first we thought it was simple, server conversation. It turned out to be ridiculous in the way he was communicating, talking about drugs and how he gives them out to customers for free. Continuing to ask our age, we tell him 18 and 17, and he says that he could get us into bars being underage. Giving us his phone number, he disregards that we are still in high school. He looks at my phone and asks for me to add him on snapchat. I've never had a problem with Dennys or their servers but this was the worst experience i've ever had in a restaurant generally. This restaurant is gross. The moment we walked in, the stale stench of a nursing home hit us. The floor was slippery and we could see chunks of leftover foods under the tables and chairs. Those should have been our signs to run away quick. Food was horrible. Our waitress confirmed the steaks come precooked and frozen. All they do is heat up at the restaurant. We complained to a female manager but she was rude. It seems she and her staff were more interested in being on their phones than actually cleaning or taking care of customers. Usually slow service and doesn't get it all right. If you call at night around 9-close, they don't answer the phone. The food today was good. The banana chocolate crepe was good along with the eggs and hash browns. I had the chicken tenders with friends and cream corn. They were all good with the dipping sauce. They forgot my dinner roll which turned into garlic bread. It was still good when I came at the end of our meal cause our server never really came back. I had a wonderful experience here. We were in around 11:30, The food came out quickly and was delicious. After we had left, I realised that I had left my retainer in a napkin (my mistake), so we went back around 12:10 and the staff was SO friendly and helpful- didn't treat me like a nuisance and helped me find it. They offered to spray it off for me as well. I got a quick glimpse into the kitchen, and it looked very clean. I didn't have a chance to get the names of the staff that helped me out, but they were truly wonderful. Based off of the service tonight, I will most definitely be back. Thank you so much! read more

It's been a really really messed up week, seven days of torcher, seven days of bitter. My girl friend went and cheated on me, she's a California dime but it's time for me to quit her. Another thing to make my week bad, we ordered online and it took us a good 30 minutes to get it. Chicken tenders, fries, and mozzarella sticks were all unexpected way too spicy. When we went to pick it up, we had to tell the server to make our milkshakes, all of our food was cold before we even got to dig in! This place sucks I'm sueing the owner for everything they have!!! Can't get enough! My husband and I are here at least once a week, usually more. Great menu selection, great value for the money, huge portions, and friendly staff. Sometimes at night the service is slow and once in a great while we get put at a table that obviously wasn't cleaned/cleared properly. But they are more than accommodating to resolve any issue/complaint. And sometimes they discount our check, just for being regulars. This has been our local "go-to" breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot for years. Love it here! read more
