Classic Benny Breakfast
Heather Z.

We tried other local breakfast places but the wait time was horrendous, so we decided to go to Dennys. We love Dennys and trust them. The location is convenient and across from Top Jump. There is plenty of parking. Food: I ordered the Classic Benny. My husband order the Lumberjack Slam with the Carmel Pancakes. He said "I thought it was fine" and enjoyed his soft and greasy hash browns . The Hash Browns were soft and greasy. The bacon was cooked soft. The Hollandaise sauce was thick and the ham was too salty. The eggs- one was fried but runny and the other was fried and did not run. The caramel pancakes never came- the waitress was very kind about it and apologized that she had given them to the wrong table and it was her third day. Service: service was pretty fast once seated. Unfortunately they were short staffed- the hostess was seating people, checking people in, and was the person you pay. There were 3-4 cooks, and only two waitresses for the entire restaurant. We waited for about 15 minutes to be sat. I don't hold this against them- they were all hustling and can only do what they can work with. Ambience: very clean and well lit. You are able to hear people at your table. As we were leaving, we heard a customer say her experience was not good, they didn't like the food, and there were items on her bill they never ordered.

Slowest service I have ever had. 45 min to get my order and it was wrong. They only made excuses and made no attempt to correct the problem

This place always has great food and good, fast service. Best place for a late night snack or meal if you've been on the road all day.

If you yearn for food that doesn't taste like it originated from a deep freezer, than I highly…read morerecommend The Fat Bear Family Tavern. For once in Pigeon Forge, I have ate something that actually tasted distinguishable. If you blind-folded me and had me take a bite out of different burgers from different burger joints, I could guess this one with no hesitation. However, one notable throw-off i had was that the burger had a weird aftertaste of tuna. I ordered the smash burger and it had the perfect amount of grease that doesn't drench you, but keeps up with freshness and taste. And the reason I wanted to write this review was for the french fries. Tired of soggy fries? This place puts the FRY in french fries. They maintained a delicious level of crunch and crisp (if that's your gusto) and didn't have that same refrigerator taste. I also ordered cheese curds and they had the most amazing cheese pull and tasted great! The service was excellent too, unlike some servers, they don't abandon you and they keep up with you and refills / clearing the table. If there's anything I appreciate more, it's waiters and waitresses that (even if they don't) act like they cherish their job! And if you yearn for a setting that makes you in the mood for adventure.. or a bear lover.. this place has attracting visuals so you aren't trapped in a minimalist setting. Overall, if you're up for trying new flavors and advancing your taste buds' vocabulary, I recommend The Fat Bear Family Tavern!

Food might be good but it isn't pet friendly as listed!

My favorite part was the broccoli cheddar soup that came with my meal. It was delicious. My country chicken with gravy was a little chewy but the gravy was flavorful. Our waitress was very sweet. This is a nice refreshing change of pace from all the hustle and bustle. There is a beautiful bubbling stream across the street and it's very relaxing environment- less traffic and off on a side road. The apple fritters were AMAZING. We devoured them! Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster. Don't be fooled by the big print image of the can on the menu. Restaurant - 6/10 Demon Soup In An Aluminum Can - 2/10

I visited with a family group of 10, and from the moment we sat down, the experience was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, quick, attentive, and made excellent recommendations that helped everyone decide what to order. Despite the size of our group, she kept drinks filled, checked on us regularly, and made sure everything came out correctly. The food was exactly what you hope for when looking for a hearty country breakfast. The griddle cakes were enormous, light and fluffy with a rich buttery flavor that soaked up the syrup perfectly. They had a slightly crisp edge while staying soft and tender in the middle. The Big Breakfast Platter was massive, loaded with eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, and grits. That will say the first batch of grits that they gave me were horrible as they were clumpy and kind of cold however the waitress easily fix that and replace them with a hot bowl of brown sugar grits that I enjoyed completely, other than this Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and anyone who ordered eggs over medium were cooked just right The biscuits were some of the best we had during our Tennessee trip--large, flaky, buttery, and soft inside and out.. Whether eaten on their own or with gravy, they melted in your mouth. What impressed us most was that every single person in our party found something they loved, and everyone left completely satisfied. We were tasting everybody's food and still left with no one finishing their plates because The portions are no joke here. In fact, my only complaint is that there was so much food on my plate that I couldn't finish it all, and had to throw it away before heading home because it was a 3-hour ride back to the house so If you're visiting Gatlinburg and want a memorable breakfast with generous portions, great service, and delicious food, Crockett's Breakfast Camp is absolutely worth the wait, and it is a long long wait. sometimes..

I ordered the traditional schnitzel (pork cutlet that was pounded thin). It was not breaded, but it was coated with egg and flour and prepared well. I had the German potato salad and red cabbage side orders. Both were served warm as is custom. I was a bit upset that the waiter gave me the bill when the meal was finished. I told him it was my birthday and that I had wanted coffee and cake. He took the bill and crumpled it in his hand. The portion of cake that he presented could have easily served three! I left the top frosting. The chocolate cake was moist and the frosting between the layers was German chocolate. Available seating offerings were a booth, table, or a table al fresco. It had the beer garden appeal. I opted to sit inside. The restaurant is also very family oriented (as are most things in Pigeon Forge). Prices were reasonable, food was served at the correct temperature, portions were prodigious. The venue was also immaculate. I would recommend this tavern to anyone who appreciates German fare.

The online menu gave plenty of eye candy and we were absolutely starving by the time we arrived Friday evening. The staff was very attentive and kind. It's clear that this place is fully operated by word-of-mouth and return guests. It's a huge establishment with several rooms by big fireplaces and Lazy Susan's to pass around the family style meal. The menu was a little difficult to navigate so many options laid out, but only certain options available per day. So ultimately, we were not able to order exactly what we wanted, but we ordered what was available for Friday, which was the Salisbury steak, fried fish, and fried chicken. All of these meats came in a small portion to split amongst our three people, and with unlimited sides. Some of the sides were pretty impressive. I would have to say my favorite side was the broccoli casserole, followed by the mashed potatoes and gravy, which were real potatoes! The mac & cheese was more on the creamy side versus the gooey cheesy side. Unfortunately, some of our chicken was undercooked, and the skin was very thin and not too crispy. The fish was decent, not dried out whatsoever, which is a pretty good compliment. While my coworker said that the chicken and dumplings were her favorite, I failed to enjoy them :( All in all, this was not our favorite restaurant from our trip this weekend and it appears that big groups and big families really do enjoy dining at this establishment.
