    Burnt hash browns burnt potatoes

I can't believe this is a restaurant that has only been here a few years, the waitress seemed she wasn't particularly paying attention to the poor food quality or the burnt toast, burnt potatoes, she forgot the syrup twice, & they had a girl with a so-called dirty service dog (moaning) which in its self is crazy as service animals are trained not to bark or make noises, their purpose is to help you in distress. I feel like I shouldn't hear the cook be upset or annoyed. My omelette was made wrong, but they remade it.

We had the nicest server her is Diane. Very nice and nice to my partner's.

Christmas Day 12.25.23 This restaurant was one of the few places that were open. So we expected the crowd, long wait times, and subpar service. That's what we initially thought prior to our arrival. We were greeted with smiles upon entrance to the reception counter. There were quite a bit of people seated, standing around, waiting for their order and to be seated. We were advised that we could be seated quickly, however, the wait for the food would be a minimum of an hour, give or take. This included takeout orders. We decided to dine in and drink coffee merrily for about one hour. Our server, Jacqueline was very attentive, provided excellent service, and checked on us frequently to refill our coffee pot, cream and sugar. She was delighted and happy to serve us. She presented a very pleasant and wonderful attitude. Our food came out in one hour time. We had the T-bone steak with two sides and I had the Philly steak omelette with an upgrade to French toast instead of the regular toast. They were delicious! We only ate about half because the coffee made us so pretty full! LOL! All in all, the ambience, cleanliness and the new modern look of the restaurant was refreshing. We would definitely return!

Pretty average service. Food was ok. Not much more to say as I haven't seen much difference in food taste between the Denny's I have gone to. The service is usually the difference and the service was ok here. The restaurant was very clean and neat.

T-Bone Steak with mushrooms and onions

The steak was a hearty size cooked perfectly with mushrooms and onions. The hash browns I could've done without the cheese and bacon. The salmon with herb butter was pretty good and I really liked the whole grain rice with it. The interior has a cool 1950s dinner vibe and our waitress had a pleasant demeanor. The hot chocolate is delish! Located off of busy Meridian and there's plenty of parking in the lot.

The Smokehouse Mac & Cheese Skillet

This was terrible!! the brisket was super dry and chewy, 4 other people at my table got it and it looked the exact same. I chose to get it without the barbecue sauce however my cousin did and it was just as bad, it looked like some witches potion. This tasted terrible and rubbery and unreal. It looks like vegan meat. The mac and cheese was not it because the briskets plastic like taste ruined it entirely. The onion rings were the only thing on the plate that was acceptable. The vibe of the restaurant was nice but the food was not. I also got the Slamming sprite with strawberry and my cousins got the dropper dirty soda and those tasted inedible. Mine didn't really mix that well and looked odd. The chefs cooked very poorly. I wish i could give this 0 stars, I can't do it deserves a one at most. I'm never getting that food again!! Not sure if i wanna go back here ever. My cousin once ordered a medium rare here and threw up after! They cook as if they are blind, mute, deaf, and disabled. I don't wanna go back here ever again. I warn you to not get that skillet or potion whatever that unsettling/ artificial meat is.

Our food wasn't hot all the way and we found blood in our chicken strips. Very disgusting.

Bacon is chewy and pancakes good

Manger is so nice instead of employee giving me a menu the manager gave it to me floor is really clean I would give. 10 out of 10 but there only 5 stars Recommend

Been twice now coming all the way from Tac Mall area and it's worth it. First time was a Saturday morning where we stayed for 4 hours chatting and eating and yes we left a big tip. Second time Saturday late afternoon early evening 5pm and again worth it. Both times food was hot, delicious, timely to the table, and yummy! Both times even with different waitresses we had a good pleasant experience. Parking is plentiful, take out orders seem to be a good part of their business, and inside is clean and modern (brand new they only opened last summer). Cleanliness is important to me, I wish other Dennys were scrubbed this well.

Awesome! Couldn't have enjoyed our visit to Crockett's any more…read more We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. It was relatively busy, but our server was great! The fried zucchini were prepared in a manner that we haven't seen before - long, flat pieces. Excellent! My wife had the Sloppy Joe - and she couldn't have been more pleased. Seasoned to perfection. I opted for a Wedge Salad, which was another item prepared in a way I hadn't seen before either - it wasn't a big rock-like salad, it was sliced and laid sideways. Perfect. and with lots of bacon! We'll definitely be back to Crockett's! (We'll just have to find a reason to go to Puyallup.)

Popped in here, visiting my folks out in Puyallup. Haven't seen those clowns in like 3 years, so…read morewhen I come through, we always go out to eat and drink. Came here per their suggestion, because I'm a food snob, and I'm glad we did. Cool little place, super clean, nice decorum, yada yada yada. Our server was Jessica T. I am very neurotic, and she was very patient, and even engaged in back and forth banter. She came to take our drink order, and if you know me, I always have a lot of complex requests. I started off ordering a boring vodka and soda, but then switched it up to cucumber vodka with muddled lime and mint with soda. Visibly and vocally unperturbed, she took my order along with my counterparts. The bartender whipped me up a couple of those bad boys and let me tell you, it was refreshment level: EXPERT. And props to the bartender, whom I thanked on the way out. After I drink order, I started ordering all sorts of ish. We had, an order of grilled sourdough, which was phenomenal and I'm actually going to start making that at home, if I ever get there, me and my (non-romantically involved, strictly platonic cuz I don't swing that way) partner both had the Cavatappi Ragu, and his wife had something with meatballs, that's all I can really remember. Man, even a my standards the food was so good. I'm very grateful that my folks picked up the check, and I feel bad because I ordered so much stuff, which I wasn't expecting because I went Ham on the menu, but damn man.... I think you can actually eat cheaper at a comparable restaurant in LA... Prices were pretty high. Even for me hahaha BUT all that being said, the next time I come see these clowns, I want to go back! Very good experience, very good food, very good service. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. Sunday breakfast at Black Bear? YES PLEASE!…read more A good place for any meal but breakfast is definitely a must. The selections are great and they are quick and the portions are ample. Service by Stephanie is always amazing. She is great and always has a smile and takes care of her guests with personal attention. This is the first time I can remember being disappointed at a Black Bear Diner. We have visited…read morethem all over the West Coast, including the first location in the Mount Shasta, CA area. The first issue was the seating. Instead of putting our party at an area that had tables that could be moved together five of us were put at a booth meant for four people. The area with more capacity was by the door that leads to the outdoor dining, and was being used by other patrons, with more room available. A chair wa placed at the end of the table for the booth we were in. The legs for the table were such that I had to "tuck" my feet under the chair I was sitting on. This was very uncomfortable for someone who had seven knee surgeries. During the meal I had to place the plate with my biscuit onto my knee to get my coffee refilled, either that or the server would have needed to reach over me to refill it. The food was a bit of a disappointment for two of us. I had the chicken fried steak with country potatoes. My wife had eggs Benedict with loaded hash browns. My county potatoes were actually cool, not cold, not even warm, cool. What made them semi-warm was the gravy on top of them. My wife's potatoes appear to have been sitting around. They were more than crispy, being hard, and cold. The eggs for the eggs Benedict were almost completely hard cooked. The yolk was not at all runny, to blend in with the sauce. Her fruit cup had lots of water in it, and the melon was not as ripe as it should have been. She remarked later she should have gotten the biscuit. We did not complain to the server. Had we done so everyone else in our party would have finished their meals by the time our replacement would have arrived. Well over $100 spent for a disappointing experience. The first we can remember at a Black Bear Diner.
