I understand many people had a bad experience here, and I expected the same. Haven't eaten at a Denny's since 2006, but It was right next to my Motel, (Motel 6, read my review...Terrible). I ordered a Grand Slam or something and I was surprised when it arrived. Looked like the menu photo and was actually cooked perfect, (Good job cook guys). It was pretty busy but the waitress checked on my needs appropriately. The only complaint I have is the prices, but that is clearly posted on the menu so if I ordered food, I took that hit. When they finally sat us down we waited 30 minutes to get our order taken and only because I told them we had been waiting and no one was coming. I wish I could write a more favorable review, but this is what my wife and I have experienced when dining there Since they moved from their old location on Mack Road in South Sacramento, which had a smaller, home-style feeling, the new location definitely is larger with an open air type atmosphere. This allows too much noise in the restaurant, making talking during your meals difficult, especially during lunch and dinner. The service was often slow and the waiters and waitresses were not that attentive. Several times we had asked for refills or a change in silverware, only to have to wait forever to get it. Making eye contact with our waiters or waitresses was difficult to say the least. Now - if the powers that be at Dennys can make it happen, install some sound absorbers of some kind or wall partitions (glass would work fine) so they blend in with the design of the interior. This would greatly cut down on the noise and make the dining experience a happier, less noise affair. read more

Interesting experience. It's a pretty new and modern Denny's but wow it was just a terrible experience. No one seemed to be on top of things here. It took forever to get acknowledged and get our order taken. So many staff but no one really taking care of customers and it really wasn't busy when we came in. Took an eternity to get our food. It was just such a long process for everything. Staff just was not attentive and seemed to just be wandering around aimlessly. It's like no one knew what they were doing....I don't get it. Almost like their was no direction from a manager or something. The food was whatever. I had breakfast food. Eggs were greasy, hash browns were like overcooked. Just a pretty forgettable experience. Hopefully they get it together after being in business longer. Doubt I'd go to this location again though. read more

Holy hell this is a bad Denny's location. We(party of 2 adults and 3 children) arrived for a late lunch at 150 PM. The place was relatively empty and we were seated somewhat quickly. That, unfortunately, was the end of anything resembling quickness during the remainder of our visit. It took our server 10 minutes just to greet us, another 10 minutes to retrieve our beverages, and another 40 minutes to get our food! Please note we placed our drinks and food order at the same time because we feared the worst when we met our server. I won't use her real name, but she was either trying to get fired today or got high before helping us, as she was as close to comatose as you could possibly be. She seemed clueless as to what she was supposed to be doing at any given time and forgot our beverages and food several times. At one point we went 20 minutes without even seeing her. Not just at our table, but anywhere in the restaurant! She didn't even give us our check as we had to ask another server for the check. Here are some things that occurred while we waited for our food(40 minutes, in case you forgot): 1. 3 different groups of people were seated, placed their orders AND received their orders before us(none of them had the same server as us of course). 2. Everyone at our table finished our beverage, but our server never returned for any refills. 3. I witnessed everyone else in the restaurant enjoying their food except us. Why were we so lucky to have this server??? When our food finally arrived, every dish was stone cold. You could tell it had been sitting for at LEAST 15 minutes. We were so hungry by that point, it would have taken hours for us to have it re-cooked and who knows what would have been brought back out or when. We'll definitely be complaining to corporate today about this location and the service we received as it's absolutely ridiculous such horrible service can be viewed as acceptable by management. read more

I leave a one star review due to my server Elliott who was so sweet in the circus he had to work in. This place is the worst food establishment in all of Sacramento. I asked for a nutritional value menu, one server said they didn't have one the next was able to provide it. It took them 10 mins to come to our table. I believe because the person who was suppose to serve us was too busy talkin to his friends in the booth behind us, playin his music on his phone, his friends were so loud, cussing, laughing, ect. The two stars is not about the food. It's about the service which is hit or miss with this place... I been here to this location least 15 times since this new location opened. Sometimes I would experience good service sometimes, it's crap. Three times I experienced really bad service. One occasion i went with a friend and her sister out to eat for lunch. The restaurant was packed. I understand it was busy the host set us. The server ignored us. He walks passed us I know he saw us because he looked right at us. He never said hi, never offered us a menu or even plain said I will be right with you. He walked past us few times... looked at us in fact he would help another table that was seated after us... We sat there for 10 minutes waiting, finally we got up and leave. Unacceptable! I work at food service, at fast food and not greeting a customer is just not acceptable, or plain refusing to serve them is just unacceptable. I only come back because this place is convenient to my school, my friends house otherwise I prefer Elk Grove location over this one. It's a hit or miss for service. Another location few nights ago saturday night to be exact I came back here to this location with some friends after hookaholics it was like almost 1am it wasn't that busy. He was courteous. he was nice. But he was awful. he repeated our orders and it was only three of us btw. He forgot my friends side of pancakes from two dollar value menu. He forgot my hot sauce... ZERO Stars for this Denny's. We just left this place, we waited several minutes before they even acknowledge we were standing by the door for a while. Then they take us to be seated while we asked if we can get a booth, An older lady, tells us to wait by a dirty booth (standing) so we waited about 10 mins, no one came to clean the table. All booths were dirty and No one was able to clean them during all this time....Oh and they were NOT even busy, they only had 3 tables with people waiting for their food. Who knows how long they waited there...my husband and I went to the restroom and came back to see out son cleaning the table so we can finally sit. We sat and waited another 15 minutes while the waitress walks by us and didn't even bother to say anything at least take our drink order or an, "I'll be there in a minute". Later we see a young guy dragging his feet to walk to some table to clean it, looks at us and he seems bothered that he had to do that, and again No one came to our table so we walked out, and I'm glad we did, cuz we came to a much welcoming place were we waited a little bit but at least they greeted us as soon as we walked in. Yes this Denny's is not in a great neighborhood, especially right next door to a slummy Motel 6. The community of Florin has the highest crime rate in Sacramento My elderly parents n I needed a quick dinner and decided to try this newer Denny's . Big mistake. Mom can't stand long and when we realized no one was going to seat us, we went ahead and picked a table. We had no eye contact from either of the 2 waitresses on duty. The only other person I saw was the bus person and everyone can see into the kitchen to watch the cooks. I believe the women we saw towards the end of our meal was the manager. She reflected a "care less " attitude. After waiting at least 15 minutes we were given menus and placed our drink orders. 10 minutes later order taken. Dad ordered French toast. Nope, they were out. He changed it to a waffle. 15 minutes later, waffle maker broken. Next..... All in all, service was horrendous. Lackadaisical, no hurry attitudes from all employees. Wow! Our visit to this establishment was horrible at best. First off we arrived at 6:43pm and waited 2-3 minutes to be greeted and sat at a Booth. The place smelled like crab legs. It was odd. We waited a while before finally asking the manager if we could get someone to serve us. That was at 7:05. Around 7:08 a young man came over and took our order. He was pleasant. He got things mixed up so I assumed he was new. We didn't get our food until 7:42. My daughter's mozzarella sticks we're cold and the fries were warm at best. My nieces Mac and cheese looked like it had been reheated several times and she said it tasted weird. My veggie Burger was good. It was the only thing good about the entire meal. When the kids went use the bathroom they came out and said it was too dirty and they didn't use it. My daughter (17) said there were paper towels all over the floor, long black hair in the sink and on the mirror, the toilet paper holders so low to the ground that they couldn't use it without it touching the ground first. She said there was 'stuff' all over the toilet. When we we're paying our bill the hostess asked if everything was good. We said no. There was no offer of a discount or anything else, she just said hopefully next time we'll like it better. As we we're pulling out of the parking lot we saw a sign that said kids eat free every day. The KIDS said something to me about it so when we got back to our hotel I called the diner. The hostess said "sorry, you are supposed to tell me when you are paying so I can deduct it from your bill" I asked her how that would be possible if we weren't even made aware of the promotion until we left. She said there is nothing they can do for me since I had already left. I asked if they could use my receipt number or something to refund anything at all she said her manager wasn't going to let her do anything. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this Denny's this was terrible service in a dirty establishment. I've always expected so much better. read more

I had to get up twice to get a refill after food was brought out they handed us our receipt and we went thirsty with our meals. Horrible experience. Well a lot of people have the right to there opinions but they don't understand due to the pandemic there are shortages in our orders and we don't receive our full shipments and it's pretty sad that we get bashed and blamed for not having a lot of items because of the shortages that's really going on in all of the U.S and all over the world. Night crew has it the worst because nobody wants to work graveyard in our location due to what goes on. We try our best to provide good service but if you don't have enough staff and enough items and people that get mad off just having to follow protocol in simply wearing your face mask to keep you and your loved ones safe then why are you going to get mad at someone when it's all over the world. We ask for people to pay before being seated because ever since we opened back up a lot of people just kept doing dining and dashing so the owner can't keep paying out of pocket for those disrespectful people that do that and can cause us to shut down. This restaurant can only do so much but we are trying our best but hopefully you all understand that we appreciate the people that come in respectful. I hope you all have a better experience next time. Just try to understand that we are working on getting more staff to accommodate your dining experience. Came in for dinner recently and got some great service and food, so I thought I'd write a review. We were greeted by a nice polite young lady and promptly seated. Marco came by and introduced himself as our waiter and gave us some 5 star service for sure. He had a smile the whole time even though we ran him back and forth a lot (Sorry Marco!). Our food came pretty quickly and it was hot and delicious. I had the crazy spicy skillet and was sizzling. It looked awesome. My girlfriend had a T-Bone steak and it was cooked to a perfect medium-well like she asked. Props to the cooks. Marco was very attentive and on top of things even though he was busy.
