NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Treating my kids out for dinner to see the new inside we chose this Denny's for its location and newness. After arriving we were greater by a nice waiter who promptly took our party to a seat. After that it went bad. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered, then another 20 for our food orders to be taken. The meals coming out was slow. For a party of 8 we had staggers food, some came out after 15 minutes and the rest took its sweet time. My particular order (banana pancake breakfast) was mixed up and I was given banana French toast instead. Due to the mix up I waited even longer to receive my food which was right about when everyone lease was done eating theirs. My egg whites were wimped in yellow oil, not edible. I didn't even try to eat them. They looked gross. My pancakes were ok however they were messy. The waitress, a large black woman was very unorganized and spoke to the customers in an inappropriate manner. I didn't leave her a tip, but I was sure to give something to the waiter who helped our table a lot. He was the only saving grace for the night. Refilled our cups, kept asking if we were ok. Long story short, after the service I experienced here I'm really considering if I will ever eat at another Denny's again. It sucks that they did not have their stuff together. This Denny's location is really nice but the staff aren't really trained properly. They forget orders and lack customer service skills. I will say, the food is always great and it rarely takes that long to get served. The interior is nice and new, but not enough tables as everything is spread out. The area isn't the best and is right next to a low budget hotel where prostitutes rent rooms. On a good note though, there's lots of parking and it's close to the freeway. Normally we would get nachos as an appetizer from the one in Collegetown or Howe Avenue, but boy this location really messed up my order, whoever the cook was by himself needs to pay more attention to detail. First off we ordered the meal order of the Zesty Nachos, The Grand Slamwich, Cali Club Sandwich, regular lemonade, and pink lemonade. When we received the Zesty Nachos, they were incomplete, the nachos were missing Pico Salsa and Avocado. The next thing which was disappointing, my Grand Slamwich was incomplete on half of the sandwich one side was complete while the other side was just egg and two half cut pieces of bread. Then there was my wife's order, which was the Cali Club Sandwich. My wife's order had pale green (not red and ready to eat) tomatoes. When the server came to check up on us, we addressed our concerns on how I had to transfer the missing ingredients from the Grand Slamwich to my other half because it only had egg, my wife's sandwich's tomatoes, and the nachos. She would address the tomato concern only and state it is due to COVID-19 that the food provider only has those condition of tomatoes. The thing that should have been mentioned is if we would like to have no tomatoes on our sandwich in terms of the Cali Club Sandwich but instead we get food that can potentially make us sick. I'm sure that if I would contact the Health Department along with some other state agencies in regards to that statement given to us, it would not fly at all as justifiable. Worst dining experience and yet it was very embarrassing to bring such concerns to the server to begin with. I spoke with the manager earlier because we had to wait 20 minutes for a server to help us at our table so she gave us our beverages free. When it came time to pay our bill he wrong the beverages on the bill so we reminded him they were supposed to be removed per management that sparked a nerve with him, I guess he looked at the table an seen we didn't leave no tip.....NOT......HORRIBLE SERVICE To top it off it was not even crowded employees standing around talking amongst themselves, no one attending to customers. an the majority of them were rude. We loved to go here, but recently the food quality has really changed. Breakfast country potatoes were soggy, eggs were not cooked to order and there was a big loud mouth waitress that couldn't keep her mouth shut. Best of all the homeless camped out the front door. If I could! I'd give them NEGATIVE 5 Stars! We got to the restaurant about 11:50 pm. March 28th. They took almost an hour to bring my food. It took my wife another 15; or, 20 minutes to get her double stack of pancakes. We watched two tables full of people leave; because, they had to wait SO LONG. It appears they only had 1 waitress, one cook & 1 dishwasher working tonight with BIG TO GO orders going out of the restaurant. This restaurant with a Motel 6 next door is GROSSLY UNDERSTAFFED! It wasn't until we were almost ready to leave. That they came by offering any refills. I've NEVER BEEN TO a Denny's! Where it took me 2 HOURS TO GET OUT! This was the worst experience I've had at this Denny's!!! My dad and I went in for dinner, he ordered the french toast slugger and I ordered the chicken fried steak skillet. We odered our eggs whites done and runny yolk. They came out with scrammbled eggs. The server was very nice.. went to put in for the correct eggs. The next eggs came hard yolks, dad was good with it I wasn't. He again was apologetic and went to get me the right eggs. They come out now its been like 20 minutes. My eggs come out and the top one looks fine but I discover the bottom one has 0 yolk thats runny.. I've had enough so I ask for a manager. She come up and I recognize her from purchasing 3 giftcards from her in the past. I explain what happened and she offers a discount or new food. I decide to get something different. I put the plate away from in front of me and took one more bite of potato as I waited. Keep in mind I had eaten about 25% of the potatoes having no idea I wasn't going to get my food correctly and 2 tiny bites of the steak. Also my dad was done with his food. I ask for the turkey sandwich and chicken noodle soup with my new order and it comes out, I tip the server, we leave. I get home and start to eat my sandwich,I eat almost half of it when I want my soup, I pull out the soup .. WTH its vegetable beef.... I about lose my mind.. I try calling Denny's but no answer... the LAST thing I want to do is go there, but I've had it!!! My first time at this location. Probably since we came at 7am or so lol there was barely anyone there. We had a group of 8 and were seated shortly after we got there. They checked on us not too much. Could've done better on refilling waters. The food was alright though. They cooked my friend's food too much because he asked for medium rare; but they fixed the issue asap. Instead of giving my other friend French toast, he got 2 slices of toast. I also had something in my water, possibly a very short hair from a male? Last time coming here! Waitress was nice although a bit young and forgetful. My review has nothing to do with her but the food. I ordered an avocado grilled chicken salad and to my surprise the avocado was nowhere near fresh nor delicious. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words well here you go.......gross right! So I asked the waitress if I can have fresh avocado she came back and said "um I was told this is fresh and they all look the same" um really? Ridiculous . We've tried coming in two separate occasions with a group of about 8 and both times we've been told that there is only one sever and one cook and that the food will take longer than average-- all of this before they even say hi. Came in last night around midnight and I understand it was supposed to be busy because of prom night. But the hostess (blonde, old lady) was plain out rude and directed so much attitude to us. We asked for a booth for our party and said there's no where to sit you. Keep in mind that 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. I ask for the wait time and with the snarkiest attitude said I don't know, more than 45-55 minutes. Keep in mind that everyone who was there for prom was just leaving and walking out the door. The service was top notch.. can't take away anything frommthe service. They work hard and earn their tips. I agree with the leader of our country on very few things but one I can agree with is when he said 'if the place is dirty on the outside it's dirty on the inside'. Dirty outside this Denny's but I thought "hey, it's Denny's, they have a reputation to uphold". I stopped at this particular Denny's on Sunday morning for breakfast and spent the rest of the day ill. A negative star show be allowed. Quite possibly the worst experience at a Denny's. 2nd to the their other location which use to be next to Big 5 down the road I believe. That's another review. I don't normally go to Denny's but the convenience draws you in. My wife and kids were out and needed dinner around 8 or 8:30 PM. It was our first time there. The place wasn't too packed, but it took us a while to get seated. We were led to a booth near a window with the sun was setting and shining hotly on us through it. I asked for another table, the hostess, which turned out to be the manager (a chubby, elderly white women) points to the blinds and said, "just close the blinds." I didn't even see the blinds as it was pulled all the way up, but it was my bad, and laughed it out and sat down. We got our menus, the waiter finally comes over to take our order, and leaves. It takes forever to get water, and our food. When we got it, we were quite disappointed! My wife and I both got the steak with brown rice and and veges, and the kids got spaghetti. When I saw the steaks, I was like, "is that my order?" It didn't not look like a steak or the picture! The waiter said yes, places it on the table and leaves. Just looking at it, I knew it was going to be bad. The veggies and rices were okay, but the steak was flat, and had cut marks on it like the chef was trying to dice it up. I took a bite of it and it was awful! Salty, burnt tasting, and dry. It looks and tastes like was first microwaved then then pan fried! Is that how you cook a steak?! We also asked for medium but got well done! I decided to keep eating it anyway and after about 3-4 bites, I gave up and just pushed it aside. My wife didn't even touch hers. Now, we're not the type to complain to waiters or management about food, but my wife was really ticked off. We're the type of people to just take what ever it is out and just eat it; food is food. But we were just grossed out. So, my wife musters the confidence to go up to the front and asked for a reorder (since our waiter was no where to be found) and the manager/hostess comes to our table. She asked what's wrong. I told her about the steak and she said, "that's how it's cooked." I told her I wanted medium, and it's not, the steak tasted like it was microwaved, etc ,etc. She looked angry and said, "what do you want me to do about it!?" REALLY REALLY??? First of all, how about apologizing and then maybe offer to either reorder it or even comp the meal, that we weren't even eating! She then asked if we wanted another order or "what?" BTW, I also told her my daughter's spaghetti was undercooked and hard. She said, "we don't make it fresh, it comes out of a box." I told her I knew that but she just rolled her eyes. Finally, I just told her to give us the check and told her to take the charges for the 2 steaks out. We were going to pay for the spaghetti since my daughter didn't know better and ate some. She said okay, rolled her eyes, left, and my wife followed her to the front to the cashier to pay the difference. We just walked out of their feeling disgusted and vowed never to return! Their phones don't work. Tried calling to put an order in and I get the busy tone. Thought hey they might be busy tried again and still the same. It's not far from me so I go down to put the order in. While I'm standing in line I notice that no one is on the phone. I call again standing in the Denny's and I still get the busy tone. The phone never went off inside the restaurant. Either they unplug the phones so they don't get calls or they just don't work. They need to fix that. They took along time with my food order prefer to call in, but now I know why couldn't read more
