I placed my New Berry Waffle Slam Order with Carmen for my breakfast today. My order also includes 2 scrambled egg's, hash browns and my choice of 4 slices of turkey bacon. My New Berry Slam price is $20.19. The Hash browns are $3.29. And the Signature Blend Decaf Coffee was $3.29. My total bill with tax was $29.45. Then I gave Carmen a $5.00 tip for her very friendly customer service. Carmen was very nice to me and my friend Michelle. My total bill was $34.45. This New Berry Slam includes Slices of big sweet strawberries and blueberries, 2 Belgian Waffles, This Caramel Syrup is poured onto these Belgian Waffles with Powdered Sugar. This New Berry Waffle Slam is very Filling and Yummy ! I don't need Maple Syrup. This new Berry Waffle it was sweet and very delicious! The other Grand Slam Breakfast included 2 Fluffy Scrambled Eggs, 4 Turkey Bacon and a large portion of crispy Hash Browns. I will definitely order this New Berry Grand Slam again soon. Dennys Restaurant have raised their prices on their menu. I had a good experience with Carmen my server.

This might be the highest rating I've ever given a Denny's. We were the only group there on a Tuesday morning at 130am, so the service was quick, and everything came out hot. I tried the maple donuts, which unfortunately were a bit burnt and not as sweet as I expected. The syrup on the table was congealed, making it difficult to pour. One person had the Bourbon Bacon Burger which I had a bite of and I thought was fabulous. Another the Lumberjack Slam which she enjoyed for her first Denny's experience and the last had a Turkey Club which looked delicious. All of those were well-prepared and flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Because usually it's a hot mess. Overall, it was a decent meal with some minor hiccups, but still a better visit than anticipated. Parking lot was small. A few spots. Lots of street parking available. It's off of a busy street and next to Layfayette Hotel.

Love this place, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend it. My favorite meal is the Cobb salad and Salmon dinner . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is great all the time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Obviously, I eat crap food or I wouldn't be ordering for Denny's. But today was just an insult. I get a couple of chunks of chicken that they try to pass off as buffalo wing bites. They're black and I'm not sure what kind of "sauce" with used, but it's not like what I've had in the past. Which is tasty garbage food. This was offensively garbage food. It just makes me sad when you can no longer even get good crap food and now all of it's just plain crap (at an increased price which is apparently a straight line grid - price up, quality down). But do you have to burn the garbage you sell me? That's just insulting.

I went for breakfast early in the morning and was quickly greeted by a very cheerful waitress.. She brought me coffee within a minute of sitting at the table.. I quickly ordered the Mile High Denver omelette which was made to perfection.. My waitress made sure my cup of coffee was always full and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast experience at Denny's . I've been coming to this location for 7 years, and this was the first time I've ever been this disappointed and disrespected. I walked in and waited to be seated. I sat for 15 minutes as multiple hostesses seated other parties while I sat and was ignored. They acknowledged that I was there and I was not seated. This WAS my favorite and only location to go to here in San Diego. Always like the staff and atmosphere. But, today WAS THE LAST TIME I'll ever go back to this location. Ok. Don't get me wrong. Denny's always has fire food. An American staple for sure. But this guy that works night... Troy... world class service! I swear I'll be going back just for the atmosphere and energy that Troy creates. I went to this Denny's with a friend of mine and we both ordered the same item on the menu. Not only did the waiter come out with the wrong food for both of us the food came with a skillet on which the food wasn't even sizzilin'. The manager was very rude when I asked it be replaced. Always in the mood for dennys!!! Always a great place to eat anytime of the day!! Wife and I had breakfast here and it was amazing. Service was very quick and to the point . Loved being waited and seated and served very fast !! We sat down, got coffee and ordered . Got our food within 5-10 mins .. it was incredible. I got the biscuits and gravy combo . Always delicious. Our server Nereida, was nice and checked on us a few times. Our food was luke warm, and my scramble eggs were a little runny! My husband's omelette did not look appetizing, we didn't like how they just put a slice of cheese in the omelette! Definitely did not enjoy our breakfast! We went to this particular Denny's because it showed to be 3 1/2 start a little higher than other Denny's in the area. We would not return to this Denny's. read more

The server Julius was very attentive from the start and came back often to check on us. Everything we asked for he was able to provide. Independently owned Denny's. 6/28/2019. Friday morning. Went here with my daughter. Lots of parking in the rear. Good job to our server Susan & other staff for taking care of us. Choose our breakfast from the Value Menu. Note: There are other menus with plenty of choices. One of the best deals in town. $2 for 2 pancakes (for my daughter). $4.79 for Biscuits & gravy for me. Susan ensured my coffee mug was topped off & checked if we needed anything. The other gentleman took the plates & silverware when we were done (which I like). Overall, it was a great experience. We tried the Tacos Dorados de Papa, El Sampler de la Abuela, and La Bomba, and for appetizers the Burrito de Machaca con Frijoles Puercos and the sweet corn tamal (which ended up being my favorite). The food and ambiance were great, but the service from Dennise and Anelle really stood out. They made our birthday brunch feel special.

She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

The food was amazing! In particular, I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle tower and their roasted chicken hash. I was surprised they didn't include a side of butter along with their biscuits, but I'll probably just ask for it next time. One important thing to note is that their dishes are HUGE. All 6 of us had our own dishes, but I would highly highly recommend ordering a couple dishes and sharing it family style if you're dining with a group. One note I did have about Hash House is how overstimulating the menu is lol. The menu had a lot of clashing fonts, colors, and clip art images, it made it hard to digest the menu. I didn't even notice some menu offerings because of how busy the menu was. Also, our waitress did initially charge us for 6 coffees, even though we only had 3. It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.

For some reason I had convinced myself it was going to be a poke-style bowl with raw salmon, avocado, cucumbers, and all the usual toppings. Instead, it came out with cooked salmon. Even though it wasn't what I expected, the bowl was actually delicious. The funny part is I learned something about myself... I definitely prefer raw salmon over cooked salmon. Not a bad discovery to make over a good meal! The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, trivia kept the energy up all night, and the service was friendly from start to finish. The funniest part was actually finding the place. We kept looking at the Yelp photos of the exterior, and the logo made us think the restaurant was in a large standalone building. Our Tesla kept navigating us to the same location, but we couldn't find what we expected. On our second pass, FSD actually pulled us right in front of the entrance--even in a red zone for a brief moment--just so we could finally see the Starlite sign. It honestly felt like the car knew we weren't recognizing the place. It was such a funny experience that made FSD seem almost human. Once inside, we were blown away. Made reservations for my birthday. I thoroughly reviewed their website. This age requirement is NOWHERE on their website, so we booked a reservation with Open Table. No problems. We drive an HOUR to this freaking place to get turned away at the door because it's technically "a bar" even though they have a full dinner menu. When I point out none of this is advertised anywhere, I'm informed it's on Open Table, and that we should've seen it there, and were dismissed. They said they could give us another restaurant recommendation and then proceeded to just dismiss us without even that courtesy. We go back to verify this age limit, and it's there... one TINY line 2 scrolls down on the page, WAY beyond any of the information needed to just book a table, which is the only thing Open Table is used for. Complete waste of time for a poorly advertised bar with zero helpful staff on a dumpy street by the airport.

Perfectly cooked and everything we wanted it to be! We were so full, but after viewing the dessert cart all night, we had to try some! The most decadent, delicious, chocolate, layered cake was our pick. As we were waiting tho, we saw the table side banana foster dessert being made and had to order that too! No regrets!! It was all perfect!! They also kindly brought us out a really good peanut butter and jelly macron, but the star was that it was topped with a gold dusted Wu Tang emblem on top - LOVE!! PS - even the bathrooms were fun! I really look forward to trying more of their restaurants!

This Dennys has got the be the worst one ever! The service is slow and the old Manager lady.. I'm guessing her name is Tanya from what I've seen in previous posts. I was here with my bf and our family eating and I speficially asked for the regular size BLT and not the bacon lovers which I have gotten form other dennys and this one plenty of times. The guy who was taking our order said ok, then as we were placing our other orders I heard him mention he was new. I was like ok well then we can't be too mad at this guy for the mistakes. But when I got the bill it was surley the more expensive BLT which I speficially asked for it to be the regular size BLT and the sandwhich itself was not full of bacon so I thought nothing of it plus I added avacado and there was like a little sliver on each half, that's it. The old lady came over adn asked us how everything was and I told her I had an issue with my bill. Told her I speficially ordered a regular size BLT with avacado and she told me well that's not possible we only have the one sieze. I told her I have been to multiple dennys and this one which I ordered the regular size blt for 6.49 with no problems. She then said I'm sorry but that's not true. I told her yes it is and she refused to change it and I told her well I'll be sure to NEVER eat here agin since you false advertise and todl her the waiter should have told me that when I ORDERED! I don't care if he's new plus that should have been a reason to change the bill in itself. This olf lady need to get off her fat butt and do her job. So many losers who work in hospitlaity shouldn't be there and this jerk is one of them. Haven't you ever heard the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!! An I wasn't even lying!! This lady needs to be stripped of her job and have some other person run this show because the service is slow the waiters don;'t know the menu and it's super tiny. When we first came she tried to give a half booth and we have 3 teenage boys with us my man, his mother and I.. Are you kidding me then when I said that table doesn't look big enough she gave me a dirty look as if I was an idiot for asking. I tell you when I'll take over the franchise and we'll see a big turn around.I work in hospitality so I know good and bad service when I see it! read more

Unfortunately, I will only provide 1 Star (because it is required to post review), due to feelings and disappointment!! My most recent visit today on father's day, inspired me to remove this past review and mention how this location has totally changed their emphasis on pricing and making money with total disregard to the customers who keep this Dennys in business, especially to me as a customer for over 27 years at this same Dennys location 2445 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego, CA 92104. They totally removed the 55+ (Seniors) Selection on the menu, while we Seniors have limited incomes and spending privileges! They also, abolished the 2,4,6,8 Dollar menu, which again, is most favorable for low income folks, young and old!! I have been told by employees there on several occasions during my visits, these changes are mandated by Dennys Corporate! So, I contacted Dennys Corporate via emails and found their statements not to be fully substantiated! So, to be fair, I informed at least three (3), of the employees today, that know me, that I will frequent the other San Diego Dennys, that I can count on to provide fair pricing that customers look forward to receive!! We stopped at this Denny's late at night after returning from Los Angeles, expecting a quick and reliable meal. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we hoped for. Our party of four was initially seated at a booth clearly designed for two people. When we requested a larger booth, the response from staff felt less than welcoming. We then ordered drinks, including shakes for the children. However, the shakes contained small particles that resembled sesame seeds or oatmeal. This was concerning, and the children refused to drink them. While the manager did remove the shakes from our bill, our appetite was already gone. Another concern was that our server, who was otherwise polite, had visible open wounds on his hands with partially covered bandages. This raised significant food safety and hygiene concerns. Ultimately, we decided to leave without finishing our visit. While I appreciate the manager addressing the shake issue, the overall experience left us hesitant about returning to this location. read more

To all my fellow not Americans people. Of course I had to go to a Denny's and try it since it's sooo "famous" in California. Guess what mf, during a calm and friendly night at 11pm, decided to go eat there with friends just to enjoy life because why not? You only have one life to live right? Okay coolcoolcool. So, went there, ordered fries because they sounded good, and fries are always a safe choice when people tell you Denny's make not american people sick. So, got the fries. They tasted good enough for fries and was happy to proceded to go back to the hotel to have a great night sleep in my opinion. Well well well, hell to the no! My guts just exploded and they shit themself all over the toilet. Plz, if you're an not American people, don't go there, you'll get sick and just empty your whole body until you only feel emptiness and loneliness. I recently came here after a late night drinking. This place hit the spot, so good. I am not sure if I liked it a lot because I was a bit tipsy or because the food was good. Either way, I was happy with the place. Our waiter was nice, even though he had to put up with a group of us drunk girls for the night. I had an amazing experience at Denny's thanks to Caesar! He made the best hot chocolate I've ever had--it was perfectly rich and comforting. On top of that, his service was absolutely top-notch. Food was not good here and talk about bad service. I didn't really enjoy our food here because the table we sat at was not very clean and it was not wiped down properly. We moved to a different table and it seems the waitress forgot about us. I had to get up a couple of times to let them know we wanted to order. The food came out and it was late and not very tasty. Last night, 40 of my daughter's theater group descended upon this location unannounced after opening night of their show. The staff could have panicked or turned us away. Instead they welcomed us, pushed tables, got everyone seated, and started taking orders! This is an interesting place. A fun late-night destination, but not so late that you get all the drunks coming in, who can be quite obnoxious. The food is... well... The bun, wasn't my preferred -- felt like wheat or something. But it seems like that's what their brand is going for? They have lots of options for keto friendly, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc! They actually have servers that ask you how the food is, anything else they could get for us, etc. It was surprising, but very nice. I shared some fries with my friend and the fries were delicious!
