Michonni is an amazing server. I've been here multiple times, but this is the first time she's served me. Other times, I can still hear how great her customer service and hospitality is. This place serves great food 24/7: you can have lunch, breakfast, dinner, or just split a dessert. I don't normally write reviews. But I feel the need to thank my favorite server. I was served by Hang multiple times. Every time I come to Dennys, I come to this location only and request for her every time. She is always offering me good food and drinks, and reminding me of extra add-ons (jalapeños on food/strawberries on pancakes) that pair GREAT together. The food is great. The customer service I get from Hang is amazing. I will always recommend this Denny's and I will always recommend Hang as your server! read more

So it's a few months later from my last review of Denny's Berryessa in San Jose, and they hired by luck a waitress by the name MIce ( pronounced Mike ) for the Denny's night shift and service has improved dramatically and she is a pleasant addition as to her memory, attention to detail and thoughtful planning, has her managing her tables with old school coffee shop perfection with a friendly familiar flare, she is terrific. The food was good and this time and the last few times the service has been perfect. I don't think they took my bad review seriously enough to find someone else I think it's more like that location got lucky when she walked in. I will be going there when need arises. read more

Denny's is a diner, I'm not here looking for exceptional service, just my coffee and pancakes. Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was absolutely awful and subpar. My boyfriend and I arrived around 10am on a Saturday, the place was busy, but extremely unorganized. There was already a line formed of people waiting to be greeted and we continued to wait with them for ten minutes before someone came along. Once we finally were seated, we waited another fifteen minutes to be greeted at our table. Before our drinks even arrived, another table was seated next to us with a screaming baby. When the waiter came back, we ordered our food: one slam with just eggs and hash browns, the other with the blackberry pancakes. Eventually I got tired of waiting for what seemed like an unnecessarily long time for our food (~20 minutes at this point) and got up to ask if we could move tables. The baby next to us had not stopped screaming since they sat down and I was beginning to feel a headache from it. Our waitress responded that they were understaffed and she couldn't help me, despite there being numerous empty tables around the restaurant to seat us at. Finally she decided she could seat us at a different table across the restaurant. We sat there for another ten minutes before receiving one completely wrong order; we had ordered the blackberry pancakes. At first we received blueberry pancakes, then our waitress brought us sliced bananas and finally brought us the right order after we asked her why she continued to bring us the wrong item and she responded, "Oh, that's what you ordered" as though she was continuing to incorrectly guess what it was rather than asking us. Also, not once had our coffees been refilled. Our waitress never came to check on us at that table other than to drop off our food; our only communication with her was through a waitress working over by us. Tl;dr Horrible service, no coffees refilled, long wait times, inflexible service, pick a different Denny's location. Do NOT waste your time or money here, unless that's kinda your thing. Dining alone, not to be confused with bowling alone (poli sci joke, haha). Anyways, easy enough to get my own booth upon arrival. I got here between 8 and 9am on a weekend morning, so that helped. Ordered: Build your own slam- so I could have oats, chicken sausage, vanilla yogurt and an english muffin. Couldn't finish the oats, the chicken sausage patty and yogurt were yum yum, good. English muffin, can't mess those up. I had hot and cold water, have tea bags will travel, si. Service: Just fine, just fine. If I know what I want I just order food when I order my beverage, it's just easier. But, browse the menu if you must, skillets are good, and people seem to like the pancake puppies. I work until late at night, and on a particular night I wanted to take my wife out to get some food after I got off work. Denny's was our choice as the time was approaching midnight and most other restaurants were already closed. When we arrived, the receptionist/waiter (Sunny) immediately sat us down and offered us drinks. He was very professional and was a very good server. His demeanor showed that he enjoyed his job and genuinely cared about the customers. We initially requested to eat at the restaurant, but our baby began acting up, and we informed the waiter we would rather take our food to go. Not only was Sunny willing to box up all our food, but provided us with extra drinks in a to go cup to enjoy with our food. If you want something good to eat, especially late at night, with good service, I recommend this place! Sunny deserves a raise!! read more

Good ol' Denny's - epitome of a mass-commercialized greasy spoon. Where else can you go for CHEAP $5 meals chock full of fatty eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausages? Besides McDonald's. A default location for many late, drunken, and random nights. Denny's is a universe away from gourmet cuisine, but it is as dependable for a quick meal as your back pantry full of top ramen. Was here last night with a craving for some late night sweets and discovered that Denny's has a new Rockstar Menu (http://www.dennysallnighter.com/). Now you can indulge yourself with meals crafted by artists such as Katy Perry, Hoobastank, & Taking Back Sunday. I tried Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" drink - an overly sweet concoction of cherries layered with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, cappuccino, and whipped cream. So gross, but was just what I wanted - cheap, fast dessert. At 2am, I don't think my taste buds are awake yet anyway. This place is open 24 hours and the workers are making crap wage - give them a break! If you want top notch breakfast, wait a few more hours until daybreak to head to Bill's Cafe. Otherwise, soothe your growling stomach with some artery-clogging breakfast special such as the Grand Slam or Moon Over My Hammy. You can loathe it, but you'll be back - especially when no other damn place is open. read more

So we asked this girl who was serving another table, "Excuse me, can we get some water." Her response, "I'm not your server, but I'll go get him." She came back with our water, then another 15 minutes came and went still no server....WTF. Finally 3:08 a server. What to order then, we were hungry when we first got there and then no longer when we finally got a server. Our order consisted of Apple Crisp A La Mode, Milkshake, a salad, three pancakes, side of fries, and hash browns. Tell me why the salad being the easiest thing to make didn't come till after everyone had finished eating all the other food. And tell me why each order came out one by one. 3:45 was when the salad came out, WTF did it take them that long to cook it?! SHIT..... You know exactly what you're getting when you decide to dine at Denny's. First of all - you should look at your watch to make sure it's between midnight to 10am. There should be no other reason to dine at Denny's. Now that we're time equilibrium situated, let's review. You go to Denny's before or after ____. Never mid-day. $2 pancakes, $2 really good biscuits and gravy with hash browns / eggs? $2 hush puppies and ice cream? You can't complain. Cheesy fries, omelettes - all overly greasy, not the greatest quality, but sober-up food it is. Don't expect Wolfgang Puck's here. I'm pretty sure the food isn't the cleanest either at any Denny's. I've DoorDashed twice from this location and both times I was missing something from my meal and me French toast was still raw

Why do I come here? Because for some reason people I know like this place and are not a connoisseur of good food or drink. But it was a free meal so what the heck! From experience I only order the Classic Burger 24/7. I've tried just about everything they have to offer and nothing is tasty, portions are small, I once ate the bacon and I held it up to the light and you could see right though it so sub standard, you should be able to see though any type of bacon!. Serves is decent when it's not full and lousy when it is. I never cared for the food here, since there are plenty of other better places to eat in San Jose/Bay Area. This Denny's is located right off Int, 680 in North San Jose. Parking is minimal because it share with other merchants. It feels up quick and the stalls are small. Wow.. maybe it was my insane hangover that made me think breakfast here was going to fkn rock last Sunday.. but it so didn't. This was probably hands down my worst Denny's experience based on the food alone, ever. I ordered the moons over my hammy with my hash browns "extra crispy" (which I always do) and my friend ordered the Grand Slamwhich. No kidding, the place was pretty busy and our food came out in like 7 min... which really wasn't a good thing. Both our sandwiches looked like they were assembled in the quickest Denny's sandwich making competition, dropped on the floor, and re assembled again. My sandwich, which was missing the egg was taken back and assembled again for the third time (or so it looked) and my hash browns were ice cold. The sight of our plates when the food arrived was not an appetizing one. The two stars are for the immediate seating and courteous service we got. Denny's is definitely one of those places I go to when me and my friends just want some cheap comfort food. Sure the quality isn't great but you get what you pay for! And they open late, so it's a great place to chill with friends & sober up if you need to ;) Even better, your bill could even be cheaper if you subscribe to their email. Every now and then they send pretty nice coupons like 20% off your bill or a BOGO free entree - which makes for an even better deal! My faves: sizzling skillets, country fried chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, smothered cheese fries, byo omelette, & strawberry mango pucker. Yums! read more

I've been to this Denny's easily 50 times, and I'm rarely disappointed. I think we all know what to expect at Denny's, so I won't go on about what's good about it. The food's affordable, relatively fast, bla bla bla. Instead. here's a list of things that I've learned about this Denny's that the average person might not know. 1) On Sunday's, from 11am-3pm-ish, this Denny's is usually jam-packed. There's a church nearby, and the flea market is right down the street. Seriously, it's the only time I've been to a Denny's where the wait was longer than 30 minutes. 2) Late night, the service is actually way above what to expect. You'll receive constant refills, and attention from the waiters and waitresses. 3) Between 2am and 4am, things can be... not so great here. At one point, when we were leaving, there was a fight in the parking lot where a gun was drawn. Another time, a fight spilled onto our table and I ended up with blood on my forehead. This is by far NOT the average night here, however, stuff like this doesn't happen at any other Denny's I've been to, and it's certainly not a reason to NOT go, just a reason to be a little cautious. read more

The owner or CEO does NOT care about their business! Here's why it is bad: 1) Calling in to order a to-go is impossible because no employees picks up on the other end. I'd call 5 times and let it ring all the way to the end and I would hear a "beep" as if it is a fax or something. 2) When you get there, you'd stand there and wait for about 10 minutes and no employees notices you until it is too late. 3) One of their employees say they no longer make "buffalo wings" or "hot wings". Really close to my house, this Denny's is satisfactory. Expensive for what it is, I commend the good options. I usually get the protein scramble stuff than the pancakes and waffles. Sure my body will feel bad, but the taste is what matters. Service as always depend on when you go so that's that. So yeah, that is my take away of Denny's. read more

I can never hate on Denny's because they have decent, cheap, tolerable eats. I have lots of fond memories of going to this Denny's in the mornings (when my friends and I had decided to cut school) or late at night after our school dances/prom/house parties. I'm a big fan of the value meals. This most recent trip, I got the everyday value slam--$4. 2 bacon or 2 sausage, 2 pancakes, and 2 eggs any way you want them.
