After our last dining experience and attempt to get a late breakfast just before noon at the pancake house, it was not 145 and we hit Denny's. The staff at the location was AMAZING and seated us right away. They were made aware we had not eaten yet that day and were starving, they were very accommodating and took our orders with a promise they will rush the food to us. Our food arrived within 15 minutes of order - the restaurant was over 50% capacity I would guess - and everything was perfect. I did get the wrong pancakes but the mistake was mine, I ordered incorrectly I am sure. After my frustration with the pancake house and stomach growling like no other, I can see why that happened. I have been to many Denny's and this by far was the best one. Great staff, perfectly cooked food and good prices - how can you go wrong? It's Denny's. If you've been to one Denny's you have at least a basic idea of what you'll find at all Denny's. The food here is pretty good most of the time. It helps to ask that the food be good. For instance, tell them you want your nacho's stacked, and so it shall be done. The staff is generally friendly, once in awhile though, someone's having an attitude. The menu's pretty diverse. There's spendier options, and there's the $2, $4, $6 menu with options for folks looking to eat on the cheap. The place is usually pretty clean. There's video poker in the back and you get a free beverage if you play. It's not fine dining, but for TIllamook, it's pretty damn decent. We stopped in super late and close to closing. The staff very easily could have said we just can't seat you tonight. However Mike M. And Jaydin were more than accommodating. Both were engaging with customers and still actively prepping the restaurant for closing. Mike was a delight to chat with before he jumped in to help the kitchen with orders. Jaydin was quick to clean tables and make sure that the few tables besides ours were well taken care of. The staff was great! Food was amazing! Look forward to coming back when we are in town! We ate here on a Saturday. Our server was FANTASTIC! However, when we left, we walked by 3 workers on a smoke break outside. They were smoking right outside the kitchen door (gross). We decided to try again for dessert on a Monday. The kitchen seemed extremely backed up. The gentleman behind us had to ask several time for his meal. We live in Tillamook and as any local will tell you, we don't have many options. Me and the wife decided to hit up Denny's for some effortless breakfast and a really nice lady named Michelle was our server. The food was good, the place was clean, and to our surprise the customer service was awesome. Here's the thing, you go to a Denny's and let's be honest, no one is expecting amazing customer service, it isn't exactly par for the course. In fact, again because of no other options, we recently went here late night and the waitress (not Michelle) didn't even give us our cokes until our food arrived. No water either since we didn't ask I guess. We ate (cooks did a great job) and saw the lady one more time when we stood at the register and waited until she showed up from wherever she had been most the night. When she came up to us, she asked if "they" had given us a ticket to pay. I'm like "uhh no" but was curious who "they" were that she spoke of since she was the only one we had even partially seen. Anyhow, you get what you pay for in most circumstances so that felt more on par with what I'd expect, so when we went there and Michelle's service was exceptional, I couldn't help but get on here for a shout out. She was kind, friendly, and just gave off a vibe that she cared and wanted to help. Doesn't take much kindness to impress people these days, which is kind of sad it's not more normal, but it does make it that much more special when someone is good, so thank you Michelle and Denny's you could learn from her example, or maybe at least have the rest of your staff learn. read more

First, let's talk about the service, or lack thereof, on a Saturday at 2pm with 1/4 of the tables occupied. We waited more than 15 minutes for a waitress (if you can even call her that) to stop at her table. Several walked by, but no one stopped. Finally someone noticed and yelled into the kitchen, "Who's taking table 36?!?!?!" Nice. Dumb waitress. Dumb dumb dumb. Slowest Denny's waitress of all time. Now, the food/menu. Every time I go to Denny's the menu is vastly different than the time before. Sure, I only eat at Denny's once or twice a year, but still don't think that I should be surprised every time I open the menu. It seems Denny's just can figure out what patrons want so they've resorted to a "build your own" salad/burger/grand slam. I expect that next time I stop at Denny's I'll be handed a blank page of a paper and a pen and I'll be instructed to write my own menu. I'm sure I'll write something better than them. On arrival at this restaurant, my husband and I had to wait nearly five minutes to be shown to a table. After another ten minutes, a waitress came to take our order and arrived back promptly with our coffees. We waited another twenty minutes for our food, which looked delicious but sadly it was cold. When the waitress arrived with the bill, we asked for boxes so that we could take the food home to warm it. Once again we had to wait for the receptionist to finish vacuuming the floors before she came to the desk to take our payment. My husband complained about the cold food and the long wait and he was asked if he would like to speak to a manager. He decided that we had spent so much time waiting that he wasn't going to wait to speak to a manager and waste more of our precious holiday time. We certainly won't be returning to Denny's and definitely wouldn't recommend it to others. read more

Four of us asked for a table instead of booth for breakfast. We sat for 15 minutes and received nothing. Not a "I will be right with you", " what can I get you to drink", " Has anyone helped you yet". Nothing. Three people walked around all sides of us helping other customers. Two of the wait staff looked at us. We were never sure who our waitress was. We watched one who we thought was the section next to us bus a table, reseat it, get high chair, get a drink order from the table, deliver it, and take the food order. We watch food delivered to two tables - one behind us and another beside us. Nothing. Not a word. Clearly we were all four looking at the waitresses, but no one responded. The kids meals were free (Tuesdays) and they were filling meals. I ordered the moons over my hammy with a salad. All of our food was fresh and hot. Went in there for dinner around 7:00pm, they were not busy and it took around ten minutes to be seated. We get the menus and the server was there ready to take our order, even before us being served beverages. We asked for more time, in a huff she starts to walk away, I raise my voice and request water for our table. She comes back fairly quickly with the water and asked if we were ready to order, mind you it's been less than three minutes. I asked for more time, she huffs again and walks away, no joke she was back in less than two minutes. We decided to hurry and just order breakfast. We explained there was a food allergy and explicitly stated the food could not come into contact with the allergen. She stated she would make sure the cook understood and it was not a problem. Then we waited and waited and waited and waited, mind you they were NOT BUSY!!!!! Everyone before us had their food shortly after we were seated. After 25 minutes our food arrived, she explicitly states our food did not come into contact with the food allergen, off she marched. We start to try to spread the butter on our pancakes, only they are just warm, I try my eggs they are cold and they are burnt, my hasbrowns are cold and soggy. When I take a bite of the hasbrowns they tasted like bell peppers, mind you I'm seriously ALLERGIC! I spit them into the napkin and tell everyone they taste like bell peppers as I head to the bathroom to throw up. I walk back and the server had not yet even been to the table to see if everything was ok, no refills on our water either. I am now very nauseated and go to my car, leaving all but one attempt to eat the hasbrowns. I told my fellow diners I would settle up with them and to go ahead and eat. They waited and around 15 minutes after I had left she arrived to the table and asked if everything was ok. My fellow diners said no, the food was cold and mine had come into contact with the food allergen and they had tried it and they could also taste it. They told her I was in my vehicle and very nauseated. They shared our food came out cold and they had tried to get her attention, to no avail. She asked what she could do and one of them stated they wanted the manager. She returned with the manager and she said the would comp the whole meal. They said that the food allergen had made me sick and she was not even concerned. As my fellow diners were leaving they heard the server and cook arguing about the food allergy, he was shouting there isn't an allergy to bell peppers, um yes there is. They arrived to my car and we all agreed we would never eat there again. Good luck eating, you never know how your food will arrive or even what might be in it. We met some friends and had dessert while they ate dinner. My husband ordered a two scoop sunday , I had a lava cake. In the menu it shows beautifully displayed pictures of both. The menu showed a full sunday glass with ice cream above the rim. He received a half full glass that actually looked as if someone had eaten the other half. I received a half size lava cake with about a tablespoon of chocolate sauce and 2 tablespoons of ice cream if that much. When I questioned the waitress about the discrepancy she only shrugged. The reason we didn't eat dinner was in the past we had received on numerous occasions cold coffee, cold food, bacon that was nearly raw and could be read through. The food was good- I am allergic to pork so I was stoked when our waitress informed me that they had country gravy without sausage. Our server offers bread but no suggestion. Not impressed but came here after we stuck our head in at Shilo Inn. A half a cluster here and a complete cluster over there.
