My go to breakfast place when Im in Ventura. You can get a good breakfast anywhere, but good service is hard to come by. Great service is the reason I come here. Rosemary always provides great service and goes above and beyond. She knows your name, what you drink what you order and any sides you might want along with your meal. Need extra napkins? She's already on it. Do you like tabasco or other condiment? She knows it. Picky eater? She makes sure your order is correct. If you're ever in Ventura and want a good breakfast and above all, great service, make sure to check out Denny's on Telegraph and definitely ask for Rosemary to serve you. read more

Worst breakfast ever. Maybe because it was take out, but man i could have made food better at home. Food was cold eggs were plain jane and bacon wasn't cooked. Had a hamburger too that was below average with burned hamburger buns and undercooked meat. Has to be the cook! Denny's isn't usually this bad. read more

I think the problem is in the kitchen. Really nice waitress today, but clearly stressed with the amount of customers and food not being prepared fast enough. I actually lost my appetite when food arrived. Scramble egg had some dark specks in it. Turned out to be leftover mushrooms from some other order. Eggs way overcooked. We sent the toast back because it was burnt and clearly not sourdough that we ordered. We heard the waitress tell them sourdough and not burnt please. Came back burnt again and wheat. She apologized that it was burnt again. She explained that it was due to the temperature set. That other customers said it was underdone. So now it comes out burnt. I wish now I had taken a picture of it. We picked at the food and left. This is a new Denny's and we were excited to try it. We had high hopes. Very disappointed. Originally from Ventura County now residing in Colorado. Came out to visit family. Arrived this morning. In laws been wanting to try this new Denny's that had just opened up. This was previously a Bakers Square years ago, lastly I believe it was a Carrows. Now Denny's is here. So father in law was excited to visit. Well, that was supposedly the last time they would come back. And I 2nd that. Took well over an hour for our food to come out. We had ordered and noticed people ordering food who had gotten there AFTER us, where getting their food before us. My wife's honey roasted chicken sandwich wasn't warm. Assumed it was sitting while the rest of our order was slowly being put together. My father in laws dinner was served on a small ass plate but he felt since we had waited for so long for our food no point in complaining. We then ordered two milkshakes for my nephew and daughter. We did however forgot to ask to have them made "to go" since we had been there for awhile waiting on our food. As we mentioned it to our server she then comes back n just hands my daughter a "to go " cup with no offer to put it together for her. Oh well. Either she was new or whatever. Just felt the service was weak. I get it that they just recently opened. When asked how was everything, we mentioned that it took forever for the food to come out and that service could of been way better n she apologized and followed up with we were under staffed. I hate you Denny's I'm so heart broken right now. I love Denny's but this location at this time, at 8 am in the morning. I was so disappointed words cannot describe how I feel. I ordered the lumber jack breakfast what I got was a sorry excuse for a breakfast I've ever seen. My wife ordered the all American slam with over easy eggs and replaced the toast with French toast. First off my hash browns were burnt, they were so burnt I thought I had ordered potato chips. The sausages were burnt at the edges as well. The bacon was ok can't complain about that. Guess what ? The ham ? Burnt as well so burnt that it looked like I had ordered the steak and eggs. The sourdough bread was the only good thing about my breakfast. My wife's hash browns were under cooked wtf is going on ? Really ? Mine are black and crispy, hers are under cooked. Her French toast was chewy and under done. Service was good I can't blame the waitress as she didn't cook the food. Oh yeah and they never brought me my pancakes I'm still waiting. This Denny's has great service! My boyfriend and I come here a lot because the food is always fresh, never cold. The employees are super nice too. Also now that outdoor seating is available we can get out of the house for our favorite pancakes :) read more

We too wanted to try out the new Denny's location and what a mistake that was. I knew it had just opened so my expectations were lower to begin with. We were there Saturday at Noon and were seated right away at a table with no placemat or utensils. After waiting 25 minutes I walked back to the front and asked if someone could just bring us water. 45 minutes later our waitress showed up and took our order. Our food arrived another 25 minutes later. Only half my meal came and I had to get up and track down the waitress to get the other half. When we paid the bill nobody asked how was our experience as by then I'm sure they knew. We won't be coming back to this particular restaurant again. Utensils we did get were dirty, food was not warm and we noticed chairs had coffee on them when we sat down. read more

Ordered from here on a delivery app and the driver said the staff told her my food would take some extra time. Well it took an extra 30 minutes on top of the 30 minutes the app said. I only had about 40 for lunch. So now I won't even be able to eat it. Thanks staff. Not the drivers fault but it's irritating. New restaurant open less than a month. You would think they would have enough staff to handle a new restaurant attendance. The service was HORRIBLE! Arrived to see someone in the parking lot getting a 3 am double handed gawk gawk in their car. Both workers were in the back of the building smoking, leaving the business unattended. Once inside, they were pretty nice. Food was decent. Sausage was cold. Ordered more hashbrowns, but they never came. Worker couldn't process a debit card transaction to save her life. A two minute transaction took about 10. Charged us less than our actual meal too, so more than likely pocketed the difference. 10/10 as far as typical Denny's environment. read more

First time we went was a couple of weeks ago, I was not happy with my meal. I decided to give it another try last night, another food disappointment. The patties on the burger were falling apart, it was a big mess, the fries were soaked in oil. The manager and servants are extremely attentive, but that alone will not save you. Good morning.Long story short this location is alright and the restaurant is nice......the one on harbor wasnt as good looking but it was my spot for many years....was surprised when i found out it was closing...lots of great memories there.Was delighted to know that Cynthia was working at this one.Because she was also from harbor which made my visit more comfortable and as if nothing changed because she knows what i order and gots my water and coffee already ready.Leaving me time to absorb the surroundings.Food came quick and was very good..Cynthia as always great.And now to why i came here ..I dont know much about peoples lives..but i will say this..if you act some way dont expect nothing more or less in return..I will return only because of Cynthia and only because of Cynthia I am here on this website.You have a gem with her! This specific Denny's was clearly going all-out to be fast and make a good impression. This just-opened restaurant (most recently a Coco's) has been completely remodeled, new everything. A few exterior changes have been made to the facade to distinguish from the former "Bob's Big Boy" architecture left over from the original restaurant that was here back in, well, ancient days. This location is definitely a step up from the other Denny's here in town down by the 101 freeway, which is showing it's age. The food? The food was what I expect at any Denny's, reliably the same, good quality, very reasonable price. I often eat at Denny's when traveling for that very reason. I generally get the Country Fried Steak (I'm old, I still call it "Chicken Fried Steak" but the youngster taking my order figured it out.) Denny's has the best chain restaurant variation of that dish in my opinion. We will be back. read more

I thought I'd try the new Denneys, so stopped in about 2 p.m. had a breakfast that was hot and tasty, served promptly. There were tables full all around, which kept the ONE WAITRESS very busy. I couldn't believe there was only one working her butt off to keep orders going. There were two men behind the counter, one of whom seated people. Neither of them lifted a finger to help the waitress handle the load. Maybe at least one or two more wait staff would help. Prices have gone up a lot since the last time I ate at a Denny's, but the food was good! read more

I was super excited to try this Denny's in Ventura. I have never had horrible service at Denny's before, so I was extremely disappointed with the service I received. The waitress, Karen, was extremely rude to me, lacked customer service, and made me feel like I had no waitress. When I politely told her I did not like my sandwich due to the bread, she very rudely told me well its there on the menu. It was very unaccommodating and horrible customer service. I didn't know what to say to that so she left. She never came back to check on me, but when I checked on HER, she was with the cook laughing and in conversation the entire time. I relayed my concerns to the manager, who was greatly apologetic and provided great customer service. It was just very upsetting he was the one who had to do it and not the waitress. I do not think that's right, if you're not going to do your job then there are a lot of people out there that I'm sure would love the opportunity and do the job better at a great company like Denny's; where a lot of families go and expect great service. read more
