Tareq was my sales man, he was very knowledgeable about what I would need from a new car and didn't push any expensive options that I may not have needed. He was also very accommodating and made sure that I felt that I didn't need to feel like I had to go forward with any purchase I felt uncomfortable with. Chris S. in Mazda service has mis informed us, hard to work with now 3X (last time) and lacked much of the customer service skills required. He can't help but tell me how busy he is and how it seems like helping me is like "herding cattle". Since Mazda Denton has changed ownership we have noticed quite a decline. I'm still narrowing between the Rav4, another CR-V from a dealership I already know and love, and a CX-5 Grand Touring which was my favorite of all on the first test drive at another dealership. During my research, I made the mistake of releasing my contact info online and have had contact from a number of dealerships in the area. Classic of Denton is my preferred option as it is closest and I want to buy and service at the same dealership, if possible. So far, via several emails and a voice message, I'm impressed with the considerate and reasonable follow-up provided by Classic Mazda. Extremely disappointed in Classic Mazda! I purchased my 4th car from them the end of May and have yet to receive my license tags and the paper tags expire tomorrow July 28th! I called on July 20th and they were supposed to mail them but called today and they still haven't mailed them! Also owed a refund over $1000k which I still haven't received! So we come in to buy a car tonight, and the sales guy writes up numbers for the wrong type of vehicle. (We were wanting a CX-5, and he writes up the cost of a Mazda 6.) Asks me the same questions three or four times. Then we finally get the price for a CX-5 written up, we make an offer, and it's rejected. We make another, higher offer. It too is rejected. (At this point we're probably about $1800 below MSRP of $29K, and we're thinking he'll come back with a small concession on price.) The guy just looks at us and says, "Look, it seems like we're not going to have a deal here. Sorry. Have a nice weekend though." No counter offer. No speaking with a manager. Zip. Just shown the door. I'd have come up again as well, but this guy just didn't want to negotiate. To not even counter an offer that's only 6% below MSRP??? Odd behavior all the way around. read more

Came here to test drive a CX5. Went inside and one of the car sales man gave us a look as if to ask "what are you doing here." Apparently we arrived five minutes before closing hour. We had one of the worst experiences at this dealership. While shopping for a vehicle, we had received a competitive quote, and put down a deposit. When we went to pick up the vehicle, we noticed a lower trim line of the same vehicle (same color) was prepped and waiting. When I pointed this out, the dealership acted like it was an honest mistake. They asked us to wait, while they correct vehicle was prepped. After waiting for 2-3 hours, we found scratches on the front bumper. We were told by the sales manager that we could back out of the deal, but he wasn't going to fix the vehicle because they were already losing money on it etc. We weren't looking for an additional discount, our only expectation was for a *brand new* car, not one with scratches (if they proposed fixing it, we probably would have gone through with the deal) Overall a horrible experience, stay far away. read more

My husband and I like many people living in the Denton area received a flyer from Classic Mazda. This marketing tool was disguised as a scratch off game. Now I know that the chances of winning are pretty much non existent but what the heck. I almost threw it into the garbage but for some reason decided not to. Imagine my surprise when after pulling the tabs on both side I revealed 7 7 7 ..looking on the opposite page I see 7 7 7 gets you $2000 (cash). I'm still not convinced but I call the number listed, give the confirmation number and am told by the man that I did have a winning ticket but he could not tell how much. I tried to read the small print on the back and it still looked like we had won $2000 (cash). My husband and I told ourselves there had to be a gimmick but we would stop by the next day. Now we get to my real issue with Classic Mazda. You all know that when you drive in or walk in to a dealership anywhere the salesmen and women come out to see who snag the customer first. Well since my husband and I walked in holding the game card and nothing else ..No one came up to us! There was one sales lady with a customer and then there were several salesmen all around the showroom. For goodness sake it was about 2:00 on a Thursday afternoon. Can you imagine watching them try to act busy in their little groups so they didn't have to approach the crazy couple that thought they had won something ? We approached a salesman and were told the man we needed to see would be with us shortly and to please move to the waiting area..still not your normal friendly salesman 1000 watt smile and sweetness. We waited for just a very few minutes. We were approached by another unsmiling, sullen man who asked for out ticket or whatever you want to call this document along with Id. The two pieces verified (for what?) this man leaves to come back again with a lottery ticket in his hand. All he had to say at this point is You won two dollars and not scratch more than 6 squares or it will be invalid. I was so impressed how I handeled this whole experience. I did not, laugh in his face, I did not yell and I did not tear this silly little ticket up. I decided to write about the experience with the lousy customer service. We knew going in that the winning prize would not be what we would have loved it to be. We did not know that we would be treated so disrespectfully. We drove up to the door in a new ford truck, we were dressed clean and appropriate, we are of an age that buying a car was a definite possibility..the problem was either we were carrying the product they sent to our home to clutter up our mailbox and ultimately our trash can or Classic Mazda Sales people are the rudest people around. I think RUDE is the answer. Instead of wasting money on this marketing gimmick the owner of Classic Mazda should fire everyone on staff and hire new representatives and pay them enough to be happy with their job. Oh Ya..that lottery ticket we won! It's not even a real lottery ticket. The ticket is from SCA PROMOTIONS and if you are lucky enough to scratch off 6 pots of gold & win you have to take it to 7-Eleven to redem. Out of 30 squares there were 6 pots of gold. Wow the odds of winning level 1 prize?1:593,775! I Do feel better now that someone will be aware of the salesmanship and this misleading practice @ Classic Mazda in Denton. Customer Service is all a business has to offer these days. You can go anywhere to buy a product..Why not go where you are treated like they want your business. Why not go someplace that treats people with respect and value the time that they spend to visit there facility? I hope that this will remind people that you treat people with courtesy when they come into your place of business. This dealership preferred to play games by design with back and forth pricing between the sales team and the manager. On top of that they were supposedly offering me a great deal on a hail damaged vehicle that I found at another area dealership in an upgraded model with more options for less money and more importantly no damage. Unfortunate that they are the only Mazda dealership in the Denton area as Mazda does make a great product, but save yourself the time, aggravation, and money and check other area Mazda dealerships. read more

When going in I had reservations (as a younger adult and also as a woman) about how I was going to get screwed over like I had been before at a different dealership. Luckily that wasn't the case at Classic Mazda. Everyone that was involved in helping me out always made sure I was doing okay and that I felt comfortable making such an important decision. Mazda dealership of Denton is quite amazing. They treat their customers with respect and integrity, being true to the term of "taking care of the customer." My husband's car had gotten a new compressor back in July when it suddenly went caput for no explicit reason a few days ago and Jim Field (Service Manager) personally helped us out along with the wonderful crew who installed the new compressor (labor and parts) for free as it was still under warranty. They even gave us a rental while the car was being repaired so we were never inconvenienced. We have been customers with this particular dealership for over 6 years and we really cannot say enough wonderful things about them. I initially took my car here for a Recall part. They were able to replace that part. However, after thorough inspection, they found more problem/issues that need to be addressed to the car. I'm glad for their service team for going above and beyond fixing the problem. Prices are reasonable and competitive. Unlike other car dealership where they will over charge you for some ridiculous part/service. Not here in Classic Mazda. They are true, honest and hardworking people. They know what "customer service" means. They even have a shuttle to take me back home since i had to leave my car for a couple of hours. Then picked me up when car was ready. They also have service cars to loan you if in case you have to leave your car for more than a day or two - which I think is an awesome concept. Overall I would definitely use them again for any car repair/service. Highly recommend to those looking for reliable mechanic. Two thumbs up!!! read more

Nothing but games and schemes. Went in for a test drive. Loved the MX-5 and was ready to buy. Told sales rep we looked at competitive financing and already qualified for 1.9%. We waited 2 hours to talk to the "finance" guy. After all this, they said they could offer 5.9%. That's used car rates, not new car. When we objected saying that would not be sufficient, he said we could "work" on a lower rate, but would have to give up dealer discounts and rebates. Had we been told this earlier, we would not have waited. Told them, that was not a good deal and decided to leave. First, the "finance" guy attempted to block the exit to his office, but we were able to get by. Next, he attempted to race us to the front door. When he couldn't catch us he then tried to stand in front of our vehicle when we tried to leave the lot. Have a feeling had we been trying to trade in our old car they would have refused to give us the keys back. Avoid these vultures at all costs. Games, gimmicks and run around. read more

I've had my car serviced here since I bought it in 2015. Today I was quoted almost $2,000 in maintenance repairs! For the past 4.5 years it's only mostly oil changes and tire rotation with clean checkup reports. I would ask about brake pad condition, brake and transmission fluid condition, and was always told all was ok. Today, I was told that prior maintenance advisors had not performed their jobs properly, which I found outrageous. If true, management should have proactively informed returning customers that they may receive recommendations for significant maintenance repairs on missed services. Instead I was with other people who heard similar quotes to mine. I am now reviewing other automotive repair places to get their opinion on the condition of my car and the necessity of the litany of services recommended by Mazda. I am contacting corporate and local Mazda management about this issue. read more

May I begin by saying that this was the most stellar purchasing experience of my life! My husband and I recently moved to the DFW metro area from Southern California. From the beginning, we were hesitant to purchase a new car in Texas because of a bad previous experience. We abided by the stereotype that car dealerships are run by shady opportunists looking to screw people into a deal they will ultimately regret. Classic Mazda of Denton shattered our ill-conceived expectations from the start. Before even visiting the dealership, we completed a credit application on the dealership website. Minutes later, we received a phone call from the dealership's Internet Specialist, a personable and attentive gentleman named Tareq. He explained that our credit application had been received and offered to guide us through the car-buying experience. Later that day, my husband and I met Tareq at the dealership. Keeping in mind the model and color preference we had discussed over the phone, Tareq had pulled a silver 2016 Mazda CX-5 and had it waiting at the door. After test-driving the car and triple checking that it met all of our specifications, Tareq handed us over to the Business Manager, Zane. Zane spent the better part of an hour advocating on our behalf with Chase's Auto Loan division over the phone. Let it be known that my husband and I are not necessarily the most ideal car-buyers. We are both very young with good but not excellent credit, having only financed one other car before. We expected to be turned away from our dream car when the bank discovered our age. Yet Zane was determined to see us through. His efforts got us into a fantastic car at a very reasonable APR. After stamping the golden seal on all the paperwork, Tareq took us back into his care. He gave us a tour of the dealership's service facilities so that we would be sure where to come for future servicing and finally delivered our beautiful Mazda. Attentive to the end, Tareq went so far as to explain all of the dash controls and synced both of our phones to the car's Bluetooth system before sending us on our way. Ultimately, we left certain that every possible question and concern had been answered. We got the car of our dreams in a timely manner, feeling that we had been given the utmost respect and care as customers. Their internet sale person is extremely cunning and deceiving. He would promise you to beat the lowest price to lure you to the dealership and then tells you the price is bogus, all kinds of excuses to fool you, and give you something more expensive. I had a miserable experience with the service department. I brought my car in for a regular oil change and they charged me $83 -- an absurd amount! They told me it would take 45 minutes and it took 2 and 1/2 hours! The service department doesn't answer the phone and when they do they make you hold forever. Then when I got there in person I had to wait 10 minutes while the guy was on the phone with a customer! The service person who rang me up was SLOW as molasses -- it took me 15 minutes just to pay. On a recent trip to purchase a used CX-9 we found what we were looking for and after driving the vehicle, going to lunch and coming back to close the deal while we were waiting for the trade in value number on our vehicle another salesman comes out and takes the CX-9 away. Turns out he had sold the car the day before and didn't tell anyone else. Three hours down the drain. So we were told they felt bad and were going to make it right. But making it right basically turned out to be an upsell into a more expensive CX-9. When we didn't take that offer they indicated they would look for other CX-9's in the area in an effort to make it right. Well in my opinion that offer ended when we drove off the lot. They only called to return our calls to them. So we moved on and bought elsewhere. read more
