Brought a wool and cotton mattress topper for cleaning and something went wrong in the cleaning process, human or mechanical I'm not sure, as a result, the topper was no longer useable. Kiho Kim the store manager at Watertown was not only very apologetic but went about ensuring that I was refunded a comparable amount for the damaged mattress topper. Given how I was treated and how quickly my issue was taken care of I will certainly use them in the future. I know mistakes happen, the important part is how they are handled. Got to give them a Booo! Hiss! I just moved to the area and needed to drop off some laundry to wash and fold. My partner was told they would wash some things and dry clean others. She argued that the laundry really just need washing. Dry cleaning a Tee shirt was like sending a Bic lighter to the repair shop. In the end, about $20 worth of laundry was cleaned for $200! They saw me coming. They should sell used cars. I'll find a reasonable laundry and different dry cleaner. read more

Dropped off a couple pair of pants for drying cleaning last week and told them I would be back next week to pick up. For some unknown reason, they "delivered" my dry cleaning instead. By "delivered", I mean they just left my dry cleaning on the floor outside the front door of my condo building without letting me know it was there and without a plastic bag over it to protect it from the elements. My dry cleaning was outside for a couple of days as I just happened to stumble upon it one day as I was walking out the front door and noticed a pair of pants that looked like mines. Always had great experience at this location. Staff is friendly, accommodating and professional. Good management here. All clothes come back great and they even replace broken or missing buttons! A few shirts and pants have gone missing over the many years I've but they found a couple and voluntarily issued me credits for the others in the amount of new condition! We recently used Dependable Cleaners to repair and clean a Christening gown after use. The gown is over 100 years old and made from parts of my wife's grandmothers wedding dress and now has been used for 4 generations. So after a great Groupon Deal of 15 for 30 dollars worth of dry cleaning services I enter the Dependable Cleaners in Watertown today. I was hoping to cash in on their wash dry fold service with a little laundry I had along with washing my comforter from my queen sized bed. Upon arriving the people were friendly and asked if I was dropping something off and were eager to help me out. I told them I have a comforter and some laundry that would be great to run through their wash dry fold service. Their reply was : "We don't do wash dry fold here, it's only for delivery" Huh? Your website clearly stated that you do WDF services, and even so with free delivery why won't you deliver 3/4 of a mile away to Brighton (All of Brighton is excluded, even Western Brighton, I live on the border of Newton) Well I figured I might as well use up my Groupon and get my sheets done too. I turn to the friendly cleaning girl and mentioned I had the Groupon and want to spend up to about 30 bucks. Got rung up with a receipt that said bedding 27 bucks. Alright perfect, a little pricey for all my bed stuff, but it'll do. I then find out I need to wait a week because they have to ship out my laundry to another location because they "don't do it here." Might have been useful to know before you took all my stuff, and rung me out. Hope it doesn't get too cold in the next week. I get in my car and start driving home to go do laundry in my broken washing machine unit that is shared by my complex and take out the receipt only for it to unfold and to find that they are charging me 20 more dollars for the sheets ALONG with the 27 for the comforter.... This gets a 2 in my book. Deceptive website, No prices listed, would not recommend. Maybe I'll bump it up to a 3 if my sheets/comforter come back as immaculate as when I bought them. 2 only for the nice people working there. Would not return. read more

I wouldn't say Dependable Cleaners customer service is bad as much as it's totally not existent. A few weeks ago, Dependable dropped off a pair of someone else's pants instead of my wife's. Ok, mistakes happen. I put a note on the pants and sent them back, being careful to not mix them in with our clothes. Well, the pants came back again and for a second time I've been charged for cleaning someone else's pants. I called the office and let a clear message explaining the situation and requesting a call back. Instead, I received an email with a customer satisfaction survey. Hmmm. What does it take to get you guys to give these pants to their rightful owner and refund me for the cleaning expenses? read more

So I took five shirts in and five pants to be dry cleaned UnDependable returned only four shirts. They said they would find my missing shirt and put it in with the clothes I just then dropped off. When I picked up the second batch of dry cleaning my missing shirt was not included. When I enquired I was told that they couldn't find my shirt unless I was able to describe it in detail and identify the manufacturer. No other solution was offered. Please don't go there They are highly overpriced and there quick turnaround in the past has slowed dramatically and their high price no longer has any justification coupled with their their lack of customer service/ professionalism. I requested that my shirts be folded and bagged so that it's easier for me to get them home as I walk. When I pick up my laundry today I am presented with some folded and some hung. WHAT?!?!?! Who on Earth asks to have some shirts folded and some hung? To top this off they tell me that the earliest I can have the hung shirts folded is two days from now. Apparently no one in the place is capable of folding shirts without the aid of some pneumatic machine. Fine. Perhaps I will be offered a discount. Not a chance. I am extremely disgusted with how i was handled. I have been a customer for 3 years at this location. At the end of last year i came in with a large order. One was a light jacket. When i picked up my items, i checked all my clothes and all was fine (including the jacket ) i spent over well over $100 and i was informed by the rep that a button wAs broken on the jacket which they offered to fix. I agreed to leave the jacket to be fixed. I picked up the order in December 2019, checked the button which was fine and left. I went to wear the jacket in January 2020 and noticed that both sleeves seams were ripped open all the way up to the elbow. I immediately called and explained what happened and was told to bring it back in. I brought the jacket back in and explained again to Phil what happened. Phil said no problem, we should be able to fix this. There was NO reference to being charged. When i picked up the jacket i was charged $26 for the seam fix! I explained what happened and Phil went back and forth and ultimately said he never agreed to any complimentary fix. This is extremely POOR AND UNTASTEFUL customer service and i was upset and appalled that there wasn't even an attempt to adjust. I will not be doing business at this location any longer, that's conniving and sneaky practices. If there was going to be an issue with the timing between the initial fix and me calling , that should've been explained that the seams would be fixed but at a charge. It would've given me the option to find cheaper than $26! Horrible service! read more

Moreover, she provided me for picking up my sweaters at my building. I feel so good with her and I want to say thank you for your great service!!!! Incredibly rude. We pulled a car in the lot, walked less than 10 feet towards our friends in the same lot, and an incredibly rude, aggressive, and unprofessional woman who worked there came out and without even speaking to us (assumed we were trying to park and leave) "highly suggested" that we leave, waving her phone at us basically threatening to call the cops. We had been planning to bring clothes in (stopped briefly to say hello to friends), but immediately turned around and left. I would not recommend going there. Awful customer service. read more

After a 20 min phone conversation, I received a credit in the difference in price for the service I was overcharged for (the manager & I will agree to disagree on whether the service was warranted). Ladies, be careful when you drop off dresses, what they deem formal will cost over $40. I've dropped off floor length, lined silk dresses in the past and was always charged the standard dress rate of $15/16 (apparently I've been undercharged all this time!). If you use their red bag/prepay service, you're not entitled to an itemized breakdown beforehand. They're a little pricier than other dry cleaners, but I've always been satisfied with their work. They found an item of clothing they lost (hurray!), and usually get out all stains the first try (sometimes I need to point it out and leave it another day). They've also discontinued the 50% off coupons (replacing it with $10 coupons per $ spent). So -1 star. read more

Counter service people are all very courteous and pleasant. The cleaning peeps got multiple grease stains out (they found all the spots). I wish they would've asked me if I wanted sweaters folded or on hangers, as I always forget!!! (It's really a "my bad" thing, not on them.) As a collector and seller of vintage fashion in the age of outsourced dry cleaning, I thought that, when I discovered Dependable's "Style" service, my search for a cleaner who (finally!) treated vintage garments with the requisite care & expertise was over. For some 5 years, I brought vintage dresses, coats, and blouses from my online and bricks and mortar business, Cur.io Vintage, to Dependable, & though they weren't always able to remove or even lighten the "vintage" stains that sometimes flawed the garments, nothing was ever ruined through careless or overly-agressive cleaning--a pretty remarkable feat these days. But then I brought in a lovely 1960s Norman Norell dress a few weeks back--in ready-to-sell condition, NOT at all in need of cleaning--just to be hemmed, and it was returned to me with what looked like a black ink splotch on the upper left chest. (To add insult to the injury of having a valuable designer item ruined, the hemming cost a whopping $38). I spoke with both the manager, Siovan, & the asst. manager, Calvin, who said he'd try to work on the now-unsalable dress to see if they could lift the stain, & who suggested that regardless of what happened, they'd take responsibility for the damage. Well... I just got off the phone with Calvin, whose customer service tack was to claim that the stain "must have been there" when the dress came in, since it was on the tailor's rack the whole time & not in contact with anything that could have caused it. Umm? how about the girl who took my (rather large) order at the counter, & kept trying to smush the dress in a laundry bag with the other items I'd brought in (for cleaning), though I kept telling her "please be gentle with the dress; it's a Norell, & it doesn't need to be cleaned!) SHE used a pen to write my receipt with. Could that POSSIBLY be the culprit? Gee, I wonder... I am FURIOUS, not just at the totally preventable damage, but at the dishonest & rude response. Not only should Dependable--if they couldn't treat the stain THEY caused--have offered compensation for their careless destruction of the dress, I should have been offered a refund for the pointless hem job. read more

I have been using Dependable Cleaner's wash, fold and dry service regularly for over a year now. It hasn't been perfect as nothing really compares to doing your own laundry, but it's been convenient and solid enough considering we don't have a washer/dryer in our unit. At least once a month, sometimes twice, my partner and I will send our laundry out to Dependable. For the second time now, they have "lost" one of our bags. The first time this happened, they had mistakenly given us someone else's bag, and ours to that person. Wasn't ideal, but I thought ok, we're in a pandemic, folks are trying their hardest. I didn't complain. This time, I feel I've blatantly been lied to, and no one can seem to come up with a very large bag of our laundry. For two weeks, I've been trying to get some answers without any luck. Again, I realize mistakes happen, but I'd expect the team over there to be trying a bit harder to figure out where our laundry is. Awful customer service! Our company decided as a perk for it's employees was to add dry cleaning services for anyone that would like to use it. We went with this company initially because the first manager I spoke too was nice and we were able to schedule weekly pick ups. We used this service frequently, we had at least two people using the service once a week. Then one day, our driver just stopped coming. I called this location three times for a pick up that had been sitting in our pick up closet for two weeks and each time I spoke with Brittany who I could barely understand and gave me an attitude each time, as if I was bothering her. I would have to spell out every single word of our business and who I was about four time before she understood. Brittany got angry with me and put me on hold while she tried to find a manager. A manager came on the line and was just as rude, and was trying to tell me they had never done business with us before, then when I asked to speak with her supervisor or owner, magically she found us in the system . She said I was giving her the wrong information, when in reality they had a cell phone number on file for our business number for an employee that no longer worked at our business. She proceeded to tell me she was going to call the driver and that she would tell him to come and pick up and she started to hang up on me, and I had to remind her they had the wrong number and that I needed to provide them with the correct one. She goes "oh.. yea, I guess what is it.. 781 something" And I said yes, and gave her the number and she said okay and hung up on me. We have, well should say had, been doing business with this company since August 2012, but I guess they really hate having business. It was extremely difficult to talk to anyone there, without being given an attitude. If you run a business that is in the customer service industry, remember that you must possess customer service skills and that if someone is calling to correct you or provide incorrect details, don't blow them off and be rude because you have certainly lost business today. I never thought I would rate a dry-cleaning business but this place truly deserves accolades for their superior facilities and service. Their turn around is fast, pricing is fair, they have never lost an article of clothing, and if they can't get a stain out the first time they will try again - FOR FREE! The Portuguese girls working there are the cutest and most pleasant people in the industry (I know some guys who specifically go to this dry cleaners because of their hot accents lol) They have a VIP drop box for late night drop offs, and their hours are wonderful (open until 8pm on Saturdays!) Sorry guys, but you're just no good. Brought a pair of pants to be hemmed. I marked exactly where I wanted them hemmed, and the tailor assured me that would be no problem. I go and pick up the pants and stupid me, don't check them before traveling. I get to my destination and they weren't hemmed anywhere CLOSE to the marking. They needed a good 3 inches hemmed and it looks like they hemmed 0.5 inches. You can clearly see my mark of where to hem them. Yesterday I dropped off my clothes at 9:45am (in by 10, done by 5). I showed up at 6:30 to give them extra time. They couldn't find my clothes! After wasting 10 minutes looking, they come back and ask if I want to wait a "good ten minutes while we look through everything" or if "we should call you when we find it." Well, I'm not going back home just to turn around when you call, so I have no choice but to wait. They filed my clothes in the wrong numerical section. I admit I am OCD and a perfectionist, but you CANNOT mess this up. It is as easy as it possibly gets. I could also understand if it were 1 piece missing, but they had MULTIPLE pieces missing. This will be my last time going there and here is why. I dropped off a pair of jeans for some minor alteration at the end of April, and was told that they will be ready a week later. When I went back, they said it's not ready and needed another week. When I called another week later, I was told that they couldn't find the jeans and needed time to find it. Another week or two went by, and someone finally told me that they couldn't locate the jeans and will give me a check instead to pay for my loss, but it will take two to three weeks to be processed. So I waited another three weeks, and then I saw on my receipt that they had my name wrong. I called in the middle of June to correct the name, and was told that the check should be here by July. I am still waiting for the check and was wondering whether it will ever show up. Would you go back to a cleaner that lost you clothes and still couldn't get you compensated after 2 months? read more
