Is there anything worse than having a major plumbing problem during Thanksgiving weekend? I woke up with a flooded garage and figured out soon enough that my water heater failed completely. Unfortunately, I also had to shut down my water supply entirely to avoid further flooding. I started calling the usual home improvement stores and went to Yelp looking for someone who could help me asap. While there were several listings that had 4 stars or so, there were always a few "horror stories" preventing me from fully trusting them. When I finally stumbled upon Adrian, it was almost too good to be true... All stellar reviews, no horror stories, just many happy customers. Something told me I finally found my plumber... I called him and, sure enough, he gave me a quote and an appointment for the same day (Keep in mind, Thanksgiving weekend!!!). I thought I needed to replace my electric water heater and was ready to pay $1000 for the replacement, after checking with about 5 different companies and getting quotes between $1200-2400 and response times between 2 days and 1 week.. As a result, I went on yelp to find a local plumbing service and because of the 5 star rating for Adrian, I decided to give him a call. Wow, a year ago, Adrian replaced my water heater, did a fantastic job. Still works great, no problems. Last night I discovered a hot water pipe leak in my attic. Pretty bad leak. Called up Adrian and asked if he could fix. He called back within hour, setup appointment for early morning. In additional, he was able to come after workong hour at 5:30pm, sharp on time, to fix the water heater. On Dec 29, my tenant reported problem with water heater (pilot light kept getting switched off). I called my home warranty company and the earliest a plumber could look at the problem was first week of January. This was not acceptable as my tenants had no hot water. So I called Dependable Water Heaters. Adrian wanted some information about the water heater. My tenant called Adrian and provided all the information. The control valve needed to be replaced. Adrian managed to find the replacement part in Livermore and fixed the problem on Dec 30 morning. He charged me for labor only since he told me that the water heater was under warranty and he would take care of the warranty portion. We asked Home Depot and Lowes to have our leaking water heater replaced but HD was not able to fit their water heater in place and contractor from Lowes was not responsive. I had to yelp and contacted Adrian. And right away I knew I made the right decision. To make story short, Adrian found and arranged third party company to fix extensive water damage. And came for another two times, once setup a temporary water heater (on Father's Day!) so we had hot water to use and another to have final water heater installed. After having some other plumbing work done, we discovered our 20 yr old water heater was leaking. We got a few recommendations and had Adrian come out that night. He looked everything over, gave us a quote and explained that the price included a pan, a shut off and hauling the old water heater. He also pointed out some possible issues with the old pipes connecting to the water heater. He was able to come back to do the job the next day. Adrian is awesome. I've been around industrial contractors and am consistently disappointed by residential contractors. It was going the same for our water heater issue. It was a 6 year old, very pricey AO Smith Vertex model, that was just out of warranty when it started going on the blink a few months back. It was intermittent and all the AO Smith plumbers at the time were tied up with a big recall by that brand. Fast forward and the intermittent problem becomes more frequent. I can finally get an AO Smith approved plumber out to inspect for $170 just to tell me it's basically shot. It take two days to get an estimate and it's missing some items. Another two days goes by before they send the revision, and of course the heater fails completely with no hot water as the Coronavirus shelter in place gets implemented. I turn to Yelp! and Dependable Water Heaters really stands out - 5 stars on 234 reviews - who does that? Adrian does! He answered the phone on two rings on a Sunday. Friendly, up front, and knowledgeable (and I know contractors and technical details). He has me take several photos. Then walks through the estimate and gives it to me over the phone. We schedule the replacement the next day. He is number is on par with the slow responding plumber. He and his plumber show up on time, finish early, walk me through everything. They are professional, communicative, clean and thorough. Later that day we have some problems with new system and call Adrian. He answers quickly and professionally walks me through some quick tests. He calls me back a few minutes later, we run a couple more test and he comes up with a solution. He comes by the next morning and fixes the problem, caused by unique loop piping installed by our remodel contractor. In and out in 30 minutes with no extra charge. It's been several weeks and this unit works way better than the previous unit on it's best day. Great recommendation by Adrian. Our experience with Adrian is beyond expectation! Our water heater broke after 10 years. We called for another 'reputable' service first and the repair technician came out and asked for $2000+ claiming he needed to bring everything up to code - he didn't mention the water leaking into the wall. We are so happy to turned away this service and called Adrian - he gave us an honest estimate around $1300 after hearing our problem description and seeing the photos, gave the same diagnoses including bringing it up to the new code. He arrived within the hour. Upon first inspection, he noticed the leak make the connecting wall area all wet - he offered to conduct some mold inspection first by cutting a hole on the supporting base and stick a snake camera in to check if there's mold buildup. With verification that there's no mold so far so no wall-work needed, he then finished the job within an hour efficiently. He was very courteous and friendly during the whole process, explaining everything we didn't understand.
