They serve Chicago style pizza, and it was quite good. Service was efficient and food was served fast. We went in for lunch, so we didn't get to experience any of the bands or dancing that happen in the evenings. Negative: the restaurant wasn't very busy but tables around us were filled with dirty dishes. According to a Durango magazine I picked up: "Formerly the famous Farquahrts, dating from 1973, the renamed and remodeled restaurant has a new look - with seating for nearly 100 customers and plans for a rear patio. Owners Lisa and Todd Gibson have restored the the dance floor and have regular live bands. New menu features pizza, fries, hot dogs, gourmet salads and more." read more

I'm kind of wanting to give this place two stars, but I feel like that wouldn't be fair given that I've only been in here during Snowdown events. I haven't eaten the food. It looked tasty but it was too crowded to get a table. The drinks were good, if not a little steeply priced - but hey, it's main street Durango, what can you expect? Mostly my beef with the place was the crowds and how poorly they were managed. People were coming in through the back door and were rudely drunk and obnoxious. There wasn't enough seating. The staff was frantically busy and therefore inattentive. But like I said it was Snowdown, so it probably isn't fair to judge. If it wasn't so crowded the atmosphere would probably be pretty neat. But it was and so it wasn't. Maybe I'll give it another try the next time I'm in town. Maybe not. read more

The old bait and switch...we ordered a porthouse lemonade at the astronomical price of $20...however, we knew it was going to cost that much as the hostess gave us a paper menu when she seated us...after eating the waiter tell us..."oh, by the way, the bartender put extra booze in the porthouse that is why the extra charge of $6". Ummmm....we didn't ask for extra booze. How is that price passed on to us? "Oh, we'll, where did you get this price? We actually raised the prices a couple weeks ago?" Ummmm...the hostess gave it to us, we didn't just pull it out of our ass....We still ended up paying the extra $6, waiter wouldn't do anything about it. Needless to say, we won't be returning here...ever. Oh, and don't ask for a small portion of ranch on the side...that is extra too! read more

Really cool hang out in the middle of town. The food was great, and the service was quick and friendly, even when it got completely packed at night. It has this cool western feel to it, but just not soooo much that it feels like a country bar. The live music was superb! We left to go check out some other places, but that was a mistake. Next time in Durango, we'll be hanging out here a lot more. Oddly enough, there's more of a Vodka than Whiskey selection, which just goes more with the country-but-not-too much atmosphere I guess. read more

I always have great food and service when I come here. They have grey daily specials as well as a great happy hour. The Chicago style pizza is very tasty and the homemade apple pie shots will definitely keep you coming back for more. Derailed has 7 flat screens an 1 big projection screen for all your sports desires. Not a bad seat in the house. There is a wood fireplace that really makes this place cozy in the winter time. Durango Local and (former) Derailed regular here. About 30 minutes into our meal my baby was getting restless, so I placed him in my lap. While holding my 11 month old son (the two of us combined weighing less than 200 lbs) the chair broke out from under me, sending us crashing to the ground. Because I was holding a baby, I couldn't brace for impact, as both arms were dedicated to protecting my son as best I could. Resulting in a rather violent fall down to the ground. The restaurant went silent and all eyes were on me, it was a loud, violent sudden crash that echoed the place. I quickly got up and laughed it off, one of the staff members rushed over... AND GRABBED THE CHAIR AND LEFT! never said a word to me! Then, I was left standing at our table with my son and had to find my own replacement chair. After stealing a chair from the table next to us the server came and asked if I was finished with my plate. Never asked if I was okay, or even acknowledged what happened! It could have actually been very serious- I customers chair shattered beneath them while they were holding a baby! And noone even said a word to me! Later on I was brought my check, for the full price, even the extra $5 for truffle fries. Not an "we are so sorry" or a "Are you okay" or a discount, or a free drink or anything! Never a word from the staff. Extremely unimpressed that they lacked even the most basic of customer service skills. Won't be back. read more

Bad service and overcharged! The server was haughty and put off when we asked about the happy hour menu. I ordered a vodka and tonic. Our bill then showed a two dollar charge for tonic. When asked, the server said they had to open a bottle of tonic. Manager then said if I didn't like it I could write a review! I was over charged $100 and have not been able to get it back. I have emailed and called with no resolution. The reservation to book a table for New Years was made on a card which was supposed to go to the total bill. Throughout the night the waitress said we did not reach our table limit so she handed us two bottles of wine to take home. After everything was said and done I saw I was charged for the reservation and the entire bill for the night. I live in California and was visiting so I can't just walk in and get this taken care of and my calls are going unanswered so maybe this will help. read more

Really great experience! The friendly and prompt service was a highlight. They have live music, and we came with my boyfriend's older parents, so we were a little worried about the noise level. But we were able to grab a table by the window where we could enjoy both the music and the conversation. Great beer selection.
